Pin up poster idea: Jim Kirk, naked on a blanket on the sand, disappointedly looking up at Spock, who’s still clothed, with the caption “so “fight to the death” wasn’t metaphorical?”

People need to stop blaming 'parasocial relationships' when it's revealed to the public that a famous person has done something controversial (or even a crime) and the public is upset. 'I can't believe xxx did that!' doesn't always mean that the person who said it has a parasocial relationship with xxx. Usually it's just our faith in humanity, we want to believe that everyone has some basic human decency (especially someone we might admire) and it's only natural to be disappointed when we learn they're a bad person.

do yall ever think about bruce/batman!clone danny standing in front of his bathroom mirror after finding out he was a clone and silently tracing his face. The slope of his jaw and point of his chin. The high angle of his cheekbones and the shape of his eyes, the curve of his brow bones and the shape of his nose. The volume of his hair and the way it curls and gets fluffy when it gets too long.
His hair is black the same way a crow's wing is black. His dad's hair is black the same way a black bear's fur is black. His dad's eyes are blue like the ocean is blue. Danny's eyes are blue the same way a glacier is blue.
His dad has a square jaw and straight flat hair, and he tans and gets a face full of freckles when he's out in the sun for too long. Danny burns like a lobster and his face remains untouched. Danny has a sharp jaw and tall cheekbones, and Sam says when he's not smiling there's almost something regal about him. You would never call Jack Fenton "regal" when he's not smiling.
Sam says when he's not smiling he looks scary the same way a stone statue is. Jack Fenton when he's not smiling looks scary the same way that german shepherd staring at you across the street is.
Do you ever think he grew up wondering if he was adopted. Because of course, he has black hair and blue eyes like his dad. But having the same color doesn't make you someone's child.
Or, worse, things he's heard from the other kids and the other parents and even some of his teachers growing up; that he was the product of an affair. And that his dad was just too stupid to notice. And Danny would defend his parents until the day he died, because Jack Fenton wasn't an idiot and Maddie Fenton wasn't a cheater.
But doubt comes in with fickle tongue. his parents swear up and down that he is their child when he asks about either. That Danny just had his grandparents' features, but he was their son and they loved him.
But Danny doesn't look like either of his parents. His mom's eyes are blue like an aquamarine and Jazz's too. And they burn like lobsters in the sun too, but Jazz gets freckles on her face and so does Maddie. And as Danny grows up he doesn't bulk up or get stocky like his dad did, and when he hits puberty he doesn't shoot up like a tree like Jack Fenton did.
He stays small, and they say he's a late bloomer (and he is), or that he just has his mom's height. But he's fast and has good stamina, and some days it feels like he's built entirely different from his family. That the things they went through growing up just didn't apply to him. Jack and Maddie Fenton both had acne and breakouts when they hit puberty, and Jazz inherits it and he's seen the amount of skincare products she keeps on her side of the bathroom.
And then he hits puberty and breaks out maybe once or twice, but his skin stays clear for the most part and the problems and changes his dad went through just don't happen to him.
And the truth is worse than all of the lies.
How horrifying.
#dpxdc#danny fenton is not the ghost king#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc crossover#dpdc#danny fenton is a clone#clone danny fenton#clone danny#thinking about the inherent trauma that comes with growing up as a clone and not knowing and questioning everything about yourself#thinking about the amount of effort and lying that Jack and Maddie would've had to to do if they wanted to pass Danny off as their bio son#the MEDICAL RECORDS#danny's medical history is completely different from theirs. any generational health problems the waynes have would/could be passed down to#danny and he's completely oblivious to it up until the reveal. he'd have no idea about any medical risks until they hit him before that.#so many little things and inconsistencies that would just build and build and build until it finally came to a head and the truth came out#forever and ever and ever fascinated by the underlying horror of being a clone. there's a horror in being cloned but there's also a horror#in BEING a clone. like yes he could've always known from the start and that comes with its own set of issues BUT. just. him not knowing#for the longest time. the lies and deceit and betrayal. you know how adopted kids come out and talk about how they didn't know they were#adopted for the longest time and how traumatizing and betrayed they felt when they're finally told 15-20 years down the line? yeah that#i imagine finding out you're a clone is a lot like that.#i read a book in middle school once abt a girl moving to a new town with her family and getting these horrible nightmares and noticing how#everyone was acting strange around her. one of her nightmares was about the 30yo police officer being a shambling corpse talking to her#and at the end of the book she finds out she's actually the clone of a dead older sister and the police officer was her sister's boyfriend.#and she was in gymnastics but quit and her parents were so disappointed bc the og sister was a champion/award winning gymnastics player#and i never did finish the book but god am i reminded of that.#i love reading the dpxdc clone danny posts and they usually have him brush off being a clone which is literally totally fine but duUUDE#just imagine his own horror over it. its SOOO good

I think Bad's #1 problem is that he doesn't have a backbone and he talks a lot about standing on business in hypotheticals but when it comes to actually doing so he falls short
I don't think he's a horrible irredeemable person, but after a certain point you only become as good as the people you surround yourself with and he has so many amazing people to surround himself with and leave the ones who have honestly an egregious track record in the past.
He said he wanted to do better and be more open and stand up more for himself this year, so I want him to do exactly that because the Ghosties are getting tired of shit being swept under the rug and if he wants to be known as the guy who is friends with the liars and people who have committed horrendous acts, then I wanna know about it so I can leave. Or if he wants to truly wash his hands of this and move on to a brighter future with better friends and no weight on his shoulders, then I wanna know so I can support him.

can you imagine if instead of the narrative framing dahlia as a manipulative mastermind for.. "dating" her adult tutor when she was 14, it had actually taken that plot point seriously? if she was you know. rightfully recognized as his victim rather than the other way around. if her framing him for her own fake kidnapping was not just because he was an easy target and "oh it's so sad he just genuinely loved her poor guy :(" but because she felt trapped, by him, by her father, by how she's lacked agency in everything that's happened in her life, and that this was the only way out she could think of.

gonna throw some thoughts out there about this preview from noah wyle's appearance on the late show (preview starts at 15 seconds and ends at 1 minute for those who want to watch) because the LAYERS just in that 45 second clip they showed us...god. this is really long btw that's why it's all under the cut.
starting with langdon saying "i could lose my medical license" like that combined with that he told dana about losing his job in the ep preview at the end of episode 14 shows so many signs of him trying to scale down the problem to something he can control. there's so many other implications (what this means for his family being a big one), and the one he can reach without totally freaking out is "i could lose my job and the medical license i've spent the last 12 years of my life working for", which is huge but not as vague as "what will abby say and what does it mean for my kids that their dad is addicted to drugs and what will my parents think and how do i get help and what kind of help is it" and the thousand other questions swirling in his head. losing his medical license isn't a small consequence by any means, but it's the only tangible one, which means that's what he's latching onto to feel more in control.
the second chance robby offers is a really good one, and i've seen a lot of people wondering why langdon won't take it. and tbh that's just because asking for help when you're in a crisis (addiction, mental health crisis, instability in your living situation, etc) is difficult even if you know you need it. like let's remember that langdon is the exact kind of person that's socialized to absolutely never ask for help. he probably thinks he can handle it himself, but also admitting that he needs the help means admitting that he is actually in a crisis, and that's scary. no one wants to admit that they're struggling with something that big, especially when the fallout will hurt so many other people.
so naturally, langdon deflects. he throws robby's "you need help" right back in his face, and let's face it, robby does need help. like we all know it, everyone in the show knows it, and langdon especially knows it. like "i'm not the only one who's a little fucked up here. why don't you look in the mirror?" that's just so good. robby wants to mentor langdon the same way adamson mentored him. hell, he even wrote langdon's rec letter for an incredibly selective teaching fellowship. they are mirrors of each other. langdon is potentially what robby was like as a resident, and if langdon doesn't learn how to ask for help, he will become exactly like robby is now. which, as we can all see, is not good.
and robby knows this. he knows he needs help, he knows that there's a culture in their profession about not asking for help and "do as i say and not as i do", but he's more than happy to ignore it. so he and langdon start throwing arguments at each other that hurt on a personal level. and the real kicker? robby is the one that throws the most personal jabs as a way to shove all his guilt and blame and betrayal onto langdon so robby doesn't have to feel it himself. yeah langdon went low (and somewhat illogical) with the breakdown and "don't blame me for what happened to you" comments, but robby went even lower. like "you just cause them [breakdowns] in other people" and "you let me down. you let everybody down"...ouch.
another thing is, there's no way robby didn't start seeing warning signs in langdon earlier. a couple people have already said this, but robby's been working in the ER for a little over 20 years. he knows how addiction works, what dozens if not hundreds of people act like when they're either high or going through withdrawals and everything in between. he just refused to see it. he didn't want to see it. robby wanted to believe that langdon was the version of himself that never messed up, and because of that he missed every single sign. other people didn't notice because they either assume langdon is just "like that", they respect him too much, they haven't known him long enough, or he's staying away from anyone who might notice (remember, langdon and mckay don't know each other well, and this might be intentional on his end. he doesn't want to be around anyone who will notice). but robby? he probably had a feeling deep down, ignored it because he didn't want to accept that someone as skilled as langdon could be struggling with something so severe, and now blames himself for it getting as bad as it did even though it's not his fault. like it's on no one but langdon that he kept using and ended up stealing, but if robby did notice, there is something to say for him not intervening sooner (i'm not gonna get into this because something tells me this debate would be like trying to dismantle an active bomb that only has 3 seconds left). robby, either consiously or subconsiously, put langdon on a pedestal, and because of that pedestal, he couldn't see the obvious signs that langdon was struggling that were right in front of his face.
langdon needs help. robby needs help. the difference is that if langdon didn't acknowledge somewhere deep down that he needs help, he wouldn't have kept trying to call robby and plead his case. he wouldn't be near tears telling dana that robby thinks he's a drug addict. robby continues to ignore what's wrong with him and continues to assume that he knows best despite constant evidence that the opposite is true. robby thinks he's beyond help and decided that he can keep going as he is, but he can mentor langdon to be his "second chance" in some way. he wants langdon to get help, but robby refuses to handle his own bullshit and quite literally stomps away like a child when he's called out on it. once again, he's exhibiting "do as i say, not as i do" behavior, which is not something he should want to model for residents or students. robby doesn't think he can be the one to fix this toxicity around asking for help in crisis, so he shoves it on langdon (or dana or collins or abbot or even whitaker at this point) so he can avoid it. robby needs langdon to hurt so he doesn't have to, and that's the part of this argument that makes me sick because it shows that for all of robby's talk about how "we're failing our boys" and that people need to be listened to and helped, he won't do the work to fix those issues himself once they start to effect him.
ANYWAY that's my analysis. if you read it all the way to the end you are amazing. langdon as someone robby is trying to mold into a better version of himself because langdon seemingly has everything robby could never have is my FAVORITE interpretation of what the hell is going on there btw. and it shows SO WELL in this clip.

Elrond hides from the stars, at first. Morgoth's hazy corruption hid the sky, at Amon Ereb, and the Feanorians didn't spend much time outside at night anyway– it was dangerous, even for hardened warriors.
Maedhros and Maglor taught them about the stars of course, they were determined to give E&E education befitting of elvish princes, and no such education could be complete without thorough studies of both astronomy and the elvish star lore from the days of Cuivienen. Still, while they could chart the course of any star across the sky, and tell the tale of any constellation, E&E rarely actually got to see the stars.
They could, on rare nights when the smog wasn't so bad, see Gil-Estel, brightest of them all, faintly shining through the haze. They knew what it was. They didn't know what to think about it. The Feanorians didn't like discussing it, so E&E didn't either.
But then, Elrond and Elros left the Feanorians. Maedhros and Maglor sent them away from just about everyone and everything they'd ever known. They came to Gil-Galad's camp as traumatized children who were treated as objects of curiosity, veneration, even suspicion. Eyes follow them everywhere, and their gaze is never neutral– always approving or disapproving, angry or joyful, awed or fearful.
Gil-Galad's camp, guarded by Maiarin soldiers, is nearly free of Morgoth's corruption. For the first time, E&E see the light of the sun and moon in their full glory. They also see Gil-Estel, burning brightly against the dark sky; no faint light.
Elrond doesn't like it. He feels like Gil-Estel is watching him. When he tries to explain this to Gil-Galad, he's met with sympathy– of course Earendil is watching over him. But Gil-Galad doesn't understand.
Elrond hasn't gotten used to being watched, being evaluated, at Gil-Galad's camp. He'd never felt that way at Amon Ereb– where there had been far fewer elves and his presence had quickly become normal. All those elves watching him now? Viscerally uncomfortable. And the thought of the father he barely remembers being another set of eyes judging him is unbearable. After all, what if Earendil doesn't like what he sees?

Actually wait can I be so honest for a sec. I saw a post the other day I 100% agreed with but I didn't wanna ramble on it because I felt like I ultimately had a different takeaway than the OP, so:
Kerian is absolutely fucking terrifying when you actually look at him out of the lense of "the guy that feverishly flirted with Lunar," and admittedly I feel like his powers aren't actually utilized as much as they could be! For example, you could be using it to make his relationship with Lunar even more disgustingly unhealthy!!! :D
Like, yes it may be toxic yaoi solely based off of how Kerian approaches Lunar, but could you imagine how much infinitely worse you could make them by adding Kerian's intrusive thoughts effect into the mix?
Picture it with me. Kerian ruins one of Lunar's family hangouts by having Lunar have a mental breakdown in the middle of it, inevitably apologizing and running off. Kerian follows them, of course, and when they're far enough away to feel like they've escaped, he emerges and begins giving the most backhanded compliments ever, but the fact they were hearing nothing but flat out insults for so long means they'll take anything and so they just. guiltily, pathetically lean into Kerian's arms to have some semblance of comfort.
Or even! Up in space, Lunar's mark becoming worse because they were trusted on a solo mission and they haven't been around any astrals long enough to be cured. So, desperate times call for desperate measures, and they end up becoming dependent on Kerian because he promises that every time Lunar submits to him and accepts his company, he won't ever (or at least, not too often) give Lunar horrible thoughts of his family saying they hate them.
Like. It's not hard to make Kerian be Lunar's horrible situationship and a horrible manipulative monster. Open your heart and your mind. Make them worse <3

will bloodlust dev still release on sept 20 :0?
Tumblr media
Unfortunately no. I'm forced to delay the date. IM SORRY TO DISAPPOINT ANYONE!!!
I thought I could speed run and quickly finish the demo before the date and find some people who will beta test it but it's NOT DONE. Maybe ask some cool people if I could include their characters and use it as background characters for a certain scene. Or a cameo in the back idk
What's NOT done are
- Backgrounds ( I'm not very great at backgrounds or perspective. I'm still learning and I'm an over perfectionist when it comes to detail. I usually finish fully rendered backgrounds around 8 or 12 hours or more.)
- Sounds ( can anyone please tell me if there's a website that has non copyright music for background music??? I don't know what's copyrighted or not. I'm dumb.)
- Rewrite small scenes
- one animated scene
And that's basically what I have left to do. The rest are done!!
So the new date for the demo is
December 21st!!
Also I'll be returning to the Internet and start answering questions next month in October! :D
