PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND:
we, as fans, do not have a right to private information. anything shared with us on this is a privilege. please do not abuse it. the cc's could shut down and never talk about it if we overwhelm them.
also, please keep in mind that ONE HERMIT and THE ENTIRETY OF HERMITCRAFT are NOT THE SAME THING. the entire fandom is not 'ruined' or 'completely unsafe' because of the actions of one person.
PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE OTHER HERMITS KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT WHATEVER'S GOING ON WITH ISKALL. this is not some big conspiracy, it's the consequences of one person's actions. they weren't hiding this from us, that's not how hermitcraft works, they truly didn't know. they probably knew as much as us about this, so making it an 'us against them' situation is immature and shortsighted.
ALSO, I AM BEGGING EVERYONE TO PLEASE NOT SENSATIONALIZE THIS. PLEASE DO NOT TURN HATING ISKALL INTO A MEME OR A JOKE.
mcyt'ers being revealed to be less-than-great people is not a rare thing, sadly, but i've seen it turned into a joke/meme/trend in other fandoms. this both minimalizes the actual people's/victims' struggles, makes the entire situation feel less serious than it is, especially to outsiders looking in, and makes everyone in the fandom look immature, petty, unable to take anything seriously, and genuinely harmful.
this server, fandom, and community are not dying, it is not ruined forever, this is one (major, i'm not trying to minimalize it) issue that we're currently dealing with. it will be okay. we will move on. this is not the beginning of the end. please calm down. i love this fandom, god bless all of you. <3
edit: doc has said on stream that we will likely get more information as time passes. like i said, this is a PRIVILEGE. we are not OWED information. please be grateful for what we're given, and POLITELY ask questions if you must. if a cc doesn't give you the answer you want, or doesn't answer at all, LEAVE THEM ALONE. THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO HARASS PEOPLE. the hermits are likely just as stressed out as us, if not probably more so, so please keep that in mind when contacting them.
don't freak out, we'll be okay, this is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of Hermitcraft. we will be okay.
second edit: please remember that (at least as far as we know) ISKALL AND STRESS WERE NOT KICKED OR BANNED. THEY LEFT OF THEIR OWN VOLITION.
ALSO!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!
WE. DO. NOT. KNOW. EXACTLY. WHAT. HAPPENED.
PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING SIMPLY BASED OFF OF OTHER MCYT'ERS PAST ACTIONS/SCANDALS. WE DO NOT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. WE MIGHT NOT EVER KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. WE NEED TO BE OKAY WITH THAT AND NOT DRAW OUR OWN CONCLUSIONS.

to say my piece: firstly, fuck iskall.
secondly, its very easy to tell by the outpouring of hate comments on many of the hermits' recent videos (after his response) that he reached a target of young, impressionable fans. not only that, but also a darker side of the hermitcraft fandom that i like to ignore.
as much as i love hermitcraft, its "golden" status that its gotten from remaining "unpolitical" and "drama-free" has perpetuated a very ugly-hearted group of fans who cant find solace in the more openly left-wing smp communities. so they turn to hermitcraft, where they can hide a little more easily. and this has been a group of people slowly cultivating numbers for years now, and there's enough of them that docm77's gay beacon, or the number of pride mcc participants (and queer hermits) can't ward off.
these people have always been the ones brushing concerns in the community under the rug, the "this isn't the place for politics," and "i watch hermitcraft to get AWAY from that stuff." types. they are never going to believe the women that were harassed over the male creator they've latched onto as someone who's "for them" and "un-cancelable." these people have been waiting for this opportunity. and you'll see them say "hermitcraft is over," and "they can't come back from this," but none of that is true. they're the only ones who believe that.
and as awful as all of this is, the hate and the VERY thinly veiled misogyny-- there is a bright-side in weeding those people out. "i don't think i'll be able to watch hermitcraft after this" good fucking riddance.
iskall knew what he was doing by bringing his shit response video to his youtube audience. instead of the reddit, instead of twitter, but to a space that HE moderates. the space with the highest concentration of people who he know will defend him.
my only hope is that the hermits double down on this, and that they have the backbone to make it clear that these people are not welcome in the community. and neither is iskall. and that the larger chunk of us continue to support the victims, and uplift what they have to say. i can't imagine how this must feel for them.

An Objective Summary of Iskall85’s Video
I am making this summary of Iskall’s claims so that you do not have to watch his video and inadvertently support him. This is an OBJECTIVE summary containing only his points, and leaving my opinions out of it. I must state however that I do not support Iskall. I don’t feel like inserting any more of my opinions into this so as to not get attacked by either side.
TW: MENTIONS OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT, DEPRESSION, SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, THREATS
All of the things henceforth stated are ALLEGED, and I, InsoucianceArt, do not necessarily believe or support them.
A Hermit was presented with the allegations and brought it to the other Hermits without Iskall’s knowledge.
The Hermits summoned Iskall for a hearing with a deadline of 1.5 hours (time zones considered).
Iskall had contacted the police and was advised to not comply with the Hermits’ demands. Iskall told the Hermits of this, but they told him that if he didn’t attend the hearing he would be publicly removed from Hermitcraft.
Iskall resigned.
Iskall has no income, has received hate and threats, has seen no reason to continue living.
The investigation on the rumours and allegations is still ongoing. Iskall was advised not to speak in public, hence why he has only done so now.
Iskall goes through the typical explanation of cancel culture and why things can be blown out of proportion
One of the victims has done this (aka bringing claims of sexual harassment from a content creator) before.
Iskall states that Hermitcraft should have waited.
Iskall has increased the security of his private life.
Iskall compares cancel culture to witch hunts.
Nobody has the right to infringe upon Iskall’s private life.
Hermitcraft was biased when they posted the tweet and subsequently did not moderate the Reddit forum.
One of the Vault Hunters devs has been calling shots and claiming they have taken over the project, all without Iskall’s approval. However, Iskall claims ownership of Vault Hunters, as he owns the rights to it.
The developers have received due compensation for their work on VH.
5 VH devs wrote a document that, according to Iskall’s solicitor, can be seen as extortion. It demands full ownership of VH, its assets, and its funds. Iskall did not sign this document and sees this as a huge betrayal. These devs are now no longer representing VH or part of Iskall’s team.
Iskall is going to continue work on VH.
Another spat about cancel culture.
Iskall states the goal of all of this was to “delete him from the internet” and to wreck every opportunity he had/has. He states he will never go that low himself.
Iskall is waiting for the police to finish their investigation.
Iskall thanks his remaining supporters and says to keep an eye out on his Twitch and YouTube, meaning he will probably return to content creation.
Then he explodes a pile of diorite for some reason idfk man

Just a reminder that people get fired from their jobs for sexual harassment all the time. It’s not up to us to decide truths, it’s just the way it is

Stressmonster101 has deleted all her social medias (apparently including her discord) and her second channel
False has confirmed on her discord that Stress had nothing to do with whatever happened.
If I was to create a discord for preserving her Hermitcraft videos as fast as possible, would anyone be interested in helping preserve it??
Even if it ends up that she supports Iskall and he did something really bad (WHICH WE DONT KNOW) we cannot lose another perspective of hermitcraft to history

Making a list of things Iskall did in the video that feel manipulative. Quotes won’t be exact because I’m not watching that for a second time.
1. Opening with his own mental health struggles. Talking about mental health is important but being suicidal is a known excuse for people, especially influencers, to get out of facing accountability. Opening his first video in months with his own struggles is a diversion. Regardless of his mental health, he still needs to be held accountable.
2. Minimizing the allegations. The literal first thing he does in that video is reduce allegations of sexual harassment to “consensually talking with an adult woman.” This wasn’t an issue of flirting, this was an issue of sending explicit messages to his own employees & taking advantage of the power imbalance inherent to that. He talks about how, legally, he did nothing wrong. There’s lots of things that aren’t illegal but are still bad. Most workplaces will still fire you for sexual harassment, even if it’s not illegal.
3. Emphasizing his own virtues. Half of the video is him talking about what a great person he is, what he’s done for the community, how much of his own money he spent making Vault Hunters, things like that. I shouldn’t have to say that good people can still do bad things and bad people can still do good things.
4. “Guilty until proven innocent” and the whole pitchforks and witch hunts metaphor. We have the screenshots. We know what he did. These aren’t baseless accusations with no proof. Things like that tend to get proven false very quickly.
5. Emphasizing everyone else’s wrongdoing. He makes his (alleged) victims out to be these evil conspirators plotting to ruin his life. He talks about how HermitCraft only gave him an hour and a half to defend himself. To be fair, that is far too short a time window, but it’s interesting that he can’t actually defend himself, he just discredits everyone else.
6. Distracting from the allegations. Near the end, he talks about how HermitCraft is actually bad and secretly doing terrible things, without actually saying what they are. Regardless of if this is true, it has no bearing on the topic of the video— the sexual harassment allegations against him, which he has done nothing to actually refute.
7. Making the community response seem irrational. He emphasizes the worst people in the community, the ones sending him harassment and death threats (to be clear, this is not okay. We do not send people death threats) as a way to discredit everyone who cancelled him. He talks about how it’s his private business and therefore not important for the public to know. It’s fine for him to have that opinion, but if someone learns about things you’re doing in your private life and decides they don’t want to interact with you anymore, that is their right. This applies even more so to the members of the HermitCraft server. These allegations could have impacted both the reputation and safety of other people on the server, damaging the trust their viewers place in them, and harming their financial well-being.
8. Completely avoids any accountability. Every apology needs accountability, regardless of if the person did anything wrong. Iskall could have easily included an apology for the damaged trust that comes along with allegations like these, talked about how being silent for several months increased that affect, the betrayal and uncertainty felt by the community. Instead he deflects and places blame on everyone but himself. Even if he’s innocent, it’s really not a good look.
That’s everything I can think of right now. Might add some more later. I don’t trust a single thing he said in this video, especially the vague stuff about HermitCraft being actually problematic and censoring him.

And there’s Twitter being absolutely foolish as always. If there’s anyone here who thinks for a moment that Iskall is innocent you need to check yourselves.
Hermitcraft handled the situation so vaguely that none of us even knew what was happening til a victim came forwards themselves.
There was no witch hunt and Hermitcraft absolutely weren’t spreading rumors or trying to ‘cancel’ him when he himself was the one who resigned without comment or even attempting to refute the claims. (His video also didn’t provide any evidence against the claims either fyi)
Obviously we don’t know everything that happens behind the scenes but Iskall victim blaming and claiming to have ‘gotten cancelled’ wasn’t anything to do with the Hermits who have straight up refused to comment on any of it on their streams when asked because it was a private matter that was handled privately and vaguely.
They are a PG collection of channels that put their viewers first, allowing him to stay in the community after being presented with proof of the allegations would’ve been deplorable. So no, they don’t owe Iskall an apology.
The victims are the only ones that have the right to discuss what happened and they were very brave to come forwards with it. People like Iskall and those like Stress who choose to side with him do not belong in our community. Think critically, look at the facts and always stand with the victims.

I hope Iskall85 understands that comparing himself, somebody who was a creep to people in his dms and who cheated on his partner, to women and marginalized people getting murdered, is disgusting.
He didn’t refute the screenshots being real, and he also put blame on the Hermitcraft server for cancelling him when they put out a neutral statement about the situation and gave him an opportunity to discuss what was happening. He’s been on Hermitcraft for eight years, he had close friends on the server. They did not think it was fun or advantageous to have this conversation. Some of the victims haven’t come out against him publicly, and there’s no motive for his moderators and team, who financially benefitted from him, to accuse him other than that being the truth. The hermits haven’t said much of anything at all, and what they did say months ago was short and precise, as well as contradictory to Doc’s statements on the hermits trying the best they could to talk to him.
If you support Iskall85 after this statement and after the evidence which has been presented then block me, because I don’t want to see you around. He very clearly guilted his former staff and threatened the people he harmed, and this is not behavior that should be tolerated in any way.
