we, as fans, do not have a right to private information. anything shared with us on this is a privilege. please do not abuse it. the cc's could shut down and never talk about it if we overwhelm them.

also, please keep in mind that ONE HERMIT and THE ENTIRETY OF HERMITCRAFT are NOT THE SAME THING. the entire fandom is not 'ruined' or 'completely unsafe' because of the actions of one person.

PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE OTHER HERMITS KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT WHATEVER'S GOING ON WITH ISKALL. this is not some big conspiracy, it's the consequences of one person's actions. they weren't hiding this from us, that's not how hermitcraft works, they truly didn't know. they probably knew as much as us about this, so making it an 'us against them' situation is immature and shortsighted.

ALSO, I AM BEGGING EVERYONE TO PLEASE NOT SENSATIONALIZE THIS. PLEASE DO NOT TURN HATING ISKALL INTO A MEME OR A JOKE.

mcyt'ers being revealed to be less-than-great people is not a rare thing, sadly, but i've seen it turned into a joke/meme/trend in other fandoms. this both minimalizes the actual people's/victims' struggles, makes the entire situation feel less serious than it is, especially to outsiders looking in, and makes everyone in the fandom look immature, petty, unable to take anything seriously, and genuinely harmful.

this server, fandom, and community are not dying, it is not ruined forever, this is one (major, i'm not trying to minimalize it) issue that we're currently dealing with. it will be okay. we will move on. this is not the beginning of the end. please calm down. i love this fandom, god bless all of you. <3

edit: doc has said on stream that we will likely get more information as time passes. like i said, this is a PRIVILEGE. we are not OWED information. please be grateful for what we're given, and POLITELY ask questions if you must. if a cc doesn't give you the answer you want, or doesn't answer at all, LEAVE THEM ALONE. at the moment, we know nothing other than that Iskall chose to resign when confronted with something, and, seemingly, Stress resigned in response. I am not accusing her of siding with something horrible, we know nothing on her situation. she could've done so out of distress.

So far, and this is information I have gotten from other people, seemingly coming from each creator's discord, TangoFrag, ChosenArchitect, and Hrry have acknowledged it and have either quit or are taking a break from the Vault Hunters SMP.

unfortunately we might never know. do NOT hound the hermits. we can hope we find out what, but we might not. please please please be kind to the hermits

i'm not going to say much on iskalls departure from hermitcraft unless we get more information (and maybe we never will, and thats fine) but please dont hound the hermits for details, especially on stream. we have no clue what the nature of the complaints were, we have no clue who was involved, and its likely not something they can talk about right now. i know its reasonable to want to know if your favorite youtuber did something bad, but i believe if they have more to say, they'll say it when the time is right. and the right time is probably not when theyre trying to do their job.

Just as a reminder, it is important not to get caught up in the "what ifs" of a situation we know nothing about because it will ultimately get conflated with the truth later on. All we know is that iskall resigned for undisclosed reasons and that hermits are also scrubbing iskall off their content. if you are (very understandably) uncomfortable with this, then disengage with that creator, or even the hermits as a whole, until further information is provided. I implore everyone to not worry themselves sick over the possibilities of what iskall possibly could have done based on the little information we have now. Do something you enjoy right now to take your mind off it for a bit.

Edit: false has given extra clarification that stress resigning was completely separate from the iskall situation, which was a bit confusing in the original statement that made it seem like she resigned due to the situation.

I applaud the Hermits for taking care of this so quickly and professionally, but I do hope they give some context to what the complaints were. I’ve seen a lot of people jumping to the worst conclusions and it would be good to know what actually happened, even in vague terms.

Not going to say much about this because I don't like talking about this stuff but some reminders:

1.) None of us are owed more information than the content creators are willing to tell us. I know it can be hard to be in the dark about something potentially serious, but we are not the people most directly affected by this, and it's only our place to take the information we're given.

2.) Do not speculate about things you have no way of knowing. Take the facts as they're given. It's human nature to be curious, but it's not our place to assume to know more than we actually do or to spread misinformed speculation on things we don't know.

3.) Being a safe community doesn't mean having no bad actors, it means handling harmful individuals in a timely and respectful manner. Bad people can be anywhere and expecting a safe community to be entirely pure and clean only incentivizes communities to cover it up when bad things do happen. Victims being taken seriously is undeniably a good thing.

It's been a few hours.

First off, none of my fic is going anywhere. I'm not gonna pull anything, nor lock it, or whatever.

Secondly, Rods from God. The fic has been fully written for several weeks now, long before this, and I was just dragging my ass about posting it. I'm just going to dump all ten remaining chapters all at once. They will not be edited any more than they have been, and I will not be touching it again.

Going forward, I...I don't know. I don't want to stop writing, but god. This hurts. This hurts a lot.

I'm genuinely on the verge of tears rn, I'm confused and stunned. Hermitcraft is free of controversial people, right? No member has ever done anything bad, right?

Yeah I saw it earlier this morning,, I'm tryna focus on distracting myself for now until we know more, cus there's just so little to go off of rn and it's not gonna be helpful to try and dig up more information before they're all ready to share it properly, but also just. feeling a lot of "god-fucking-damnit Minecraft YouTube!! Give me one season out of the year without someone else being accused of something!!" right now. Frustration and disappointment. (And anxiety/stress)

Unfortunately a generally healthy community doesn't actually make it impossible for people to do bad things. (Heck, being a good person doesn't even prevent people from doing bad things.) It just makes it hopefully easier to efficiently and appropriately deal with it if/when bad stuff happens

Very much hoping whatever happened didn't involve people being hurt, at the very least, whatever it was, and that it gets resolved in some way or other for everyone involved

Really driving me a little crazy that people are talking about the Iskall situation as some moral failing of Hermitcraft as a whole. "I thought hermitcraft was safe from controversy" guys... bad people exist everywhere

We don't know what happened, but we can assume it was Very Serious given the removal of him from the Imp and Skizz podcast. It's clear the members are distancing themselves. The hermits are handling this in probably the best way possible, do not act like hermitcraft as a whole is at fault for whatever happened.

guys, i think the hermits are going to accidentally start a prank war again. because just like last time, a game of telephone has begun. first, false made iskall's build into ''false beans,'' her shop from the previous season. however, to give herself plausible deniability, she signs it with "love, Joel. x" due to his username, smallishbeans.

next, iskall sees this, and completely believes it. he thinks it was joel who pranked him, and as he says to pearl while showing off the sign, which he kept even after tearing the prank down, "joel gave me a kiss." in his most recent video, he pranks joel by sending him loads of anonymous messages in order to completely spam and fill his inbox, preventing him from getting any more mail, with notes such as "thinking about you. x"

of course, joel is going to have absolutely no context for this, because he didn't make the initial prank. so who is joel going to assume sent him all those messages while he was away on holiday? well, i have a guess.
