Was talking with my therapist about how it's possible to completely lose one's own identity to people-pleasing - when you grow up being constantly preoccupied with concerns about what other people want, and the ideal outcome is always whatever makes everyone else happy, it's possible to simply not learn to know yourself at all. If the only thing you've ever strived for in life is to make everyone else happy, you just never pause to think what you want, or what you would enjoy, independently from anyone else's desires.

As an example of this, I recalled that for the longest time, I just didn't listen to music when I was alone, because the thought never occurred to me. I didn't have my own taste in music, I was fine with listening to whatever the people I was with wanted to listen to, but whose music would I be listening to if I wasn't with anyone else? She thought this was a great observation, and gave me a homework assignment to find a song I like, just on my own and for myself, and show it to her next week.

So I guess my therapist is about to learn about the existence of mongolian folk metal.

I really, really hate the TikTok trend where kids/teenagers tell their mom to “shut up” in front of their dad as a prank. The reactions of some of the fathers before they realize it’s a prank are really unsettling. The rage and impulsive responses are scary honestly.

I will say I had one video I liked. The dad was so shocked that he turned to the mom and said “is she okay?” Like it was so out of character and alarming to him and his immediate reaction was concern and why is she doing this instead of rage and she must pay for it.

Just watched Jimmy’s newest episode and first of all go watch it it’s great and second of all I’M SCARED.

Everyone’s saying “oh it’s villain arc time! Time to watch the small man have his vengeance and eat it too!” (what am I even saying) And while it will most likely happen, which I’ll enjoy thoroughly, I hesitate to call it right now. For I have flashbacks…

For a time not long before, where we all desired a “villain arc” for a character who, like Jimmy, was never treated with respect. So when given the option, we proudly begged to put this character where he had no other choice but to go against his values and put himself first for once…

A seemingly perfect recipe for some well deserved chaos…

OK SO I WILL BE MAKING A LONG FORM PIKMIN COMIC BASED AROUND PIKMIN 2!!! Yippee

It’ll be posted every Sunday starting next week. I’ll aim for around 1-3 pages per week depending on how much time I have during the week to work on it.

The title was going to be pikmin 2 retold, P2R for short but I discovered while looking up the acronym out of curiosity that it’s one letter away from being the name of a type of alarm system

so the title is now officially horn strobe because that’s way funnier and much more unique.

The comic probably won’t be very good in terms of both art and writing but it’s just a goofy little pikmin project I wanna make. I don’t know how long it’ll be, if it ends up being too much I’ll cut it short but I don’t think that’ll be the case

I was going to make my next politics post about Project 2025 and it's likelihood of trying to ban fic in the US but then I saw this and fuck it, we're talking about this right now.

Not sure whether my Jewish alarm bells or history person alarm bells are ringing louder, but this is getting really scary. This is Nazi shit. Full-tilt unabashed Nazi rhetoric. He's talking about assigning people numbers and putting them on buses in massive groups. He wants to do it with violence. With the Supreme Court the way it is right now, he could do it. He can kill people with impunity, as long as he's doing it as President. That is the current law.

If you can vote in this election, you need to vote for Harris. Whether you like her or not, she is not using Nazi rhetoric and elevating admitted Nazis (*cough* Robinson in North Carolina *cough*). She is the only one with a shot at victory.

We need to stop this man. If that means making a pragmatic move and voting for someone you detest on some issues but who is not going to assign humans serial numbers and round them up into detention camps bloodily---fucking pinch your nose and do it.

Take it from someone who has to spend a large portion of their week reading history studies...history will not remember your supposed reason for not voting. You will be remembered as a Trump supporter, because you supported Trump.

Tldr: We need to stop this man in this election. Vote for Harris.

I still write to them and they write back, at least. And I do come visit. Maybe once every three months? It's the least I can do, considering I can't really drag them out of the game willy-nilly. I don't wanna be responsible with someone's debilitating existential crisis.

Plus... well... not to fall into old habits, but I sometiiiiiimes do look at the server backend during my visits. Gotta make sure everything's working well.
