Its fine if you see Kanji as straight or use she/her for Naoto. I appreciate how Kanji's storyline is about accepting that its okay to not have masculine hobbies and how queerness and toxic masculinity are linked. I appreciate how rooted in a Japanese subtext Naoto's story is and how your going to have to understand it from a different perspective of a different life. Both of these characters I like and find interesting.

But I swear, if another Youtuber or other says in some variation "Thinking Naoto or Kanji's stories are queer means your MISSING THE POINT OF THE THEMES OF TRUTH IN P4" or that as they are in canon their arcs are perfect and not needing any sort of change and are not at all at least a little dated or problematic" I am going to start screeching.

Annoyed. Grumpy. Doesn't appreciate all the extra attention, even though it's positive

Would prefer to chill alone and think deeply about what kind of parent he'd want to be and all the places he'd want his child to see

His friends have to drag him out of the house because he ended up brooding inside for too long

You bicker a bit at first because you can't keep your hands off him and his growing stomach but he likes space. You end up compromising on using a stethoscope to listen to the baby

Rude

Surprisingly chill. Content, even. Talks even less than usual.

He always wanted at least one child and he blushes occasionally thinking about taking care of his little one

There's a few instances of clumsiness if he tries to train while showing but he gets used to it pretty quickly

Reno is extra protective

Constantly cooking his own cravings. He even gets up in the middle of the night to cook something you could easily make or buy if he asked, making him pretend to be huffy when you scold him but he secretly enjoys the fussing

Reno

A bit annoyed because anything that gets in the way of him doing his job well is, well, annoying

To everyone's surprise, he becomes less reckless but doesn't give up the tendency entirely

If any opponent goes for his stomach, they're dead. No questions asked

Demands you touch his stomach at least once a day. He's proud of himself

Chatters endlessly about it to those subordinate to him, to the point where everyone dreads getting assigned to him in the field

Tseng

Takes being pregnant like a champ, at first

It's a real hassle getting him to slow down, to the point where everyone has to outright refuse to spar with him (and secretly start completing his paperwork) later on in the pregnancy

Has a mini-crisis when he can't do his job fulltime anymore because he struggles when he's not feeling useful

Repeatedly informs you that you will do the bulk of the childrearing because he intends to return to work immediately (changes his mind completely after laying eyes on the baby)

Vincent

Not annoyed like Cloud but mopey. Behaves as if his life experiences will translate into a possible curse he will pass on to his child

He can try to mope inside the coffin but the lid doesn't fit flush near the end of the pregnancy. It's adorable but you must not giggle; it will make him pouty

When not moping, he's the exact opposite. Serious™️. Must make up for what happened with Sephiroth

You pray the hormones will chill him out somehow. Many discussions, lots of reassurance that things won't be as bad as he assumes they'll be

Rufus

Alternates between pissy (how dare this happen to me? Why can't you do this?!) and proud (well, of course, my child will be better than all of you peasants) before adapting quite well. In fact, he uses the pregnancy as an excuse to shut down bickering during board meetings whenever possible

Becomes a bit of a paranoid shut in. It's because he feels more vulnerable but he readily admit to it

You wake up to Darkstar on the bed in between you because he wants to protect

Becomes a terror about his cravings and it may lead to actual arguments if he doesn't get what he wants immediately

Also informs you that he will go right back to work but does not change his mind

Reeve

Poor man suffers from excessive nausea and struggles to gain the proper amount of weight

You have to work together with his department employees to make sure he eats enough. He hardly notices because he's still absorbed in his work

The best baby shower gift is a Cait Sith plushie, maybe one you knit/crocheted yourself. The hormones make him feel so touched that he weeps

These two pieces of media are very unrelated but I promise they make me feel similar things in opposite ways

Maybe bc i watched both in the same week but anyway

I've seen both Mufasa 2024 and HB several times having their writing and plots compared to "fanfiction" and obviously it's an insult and people never go any deeper than that but I'm tired of accepting that fanfic-y plots aren't hella cool sometimes and that it's all the same bc it's really not and also man it's really not that deep in the end oh my God

Bc you know what. We write/read fanfiction bc we want silly guilty pleasures that we rarely see in "professional" writing and we want to see those cool tropes happening. But then when those tropes do happen people complain that it isn't professional enough??? So what the fuck do you want then

Like Loona having a demon feral wolf form is PEAK deviantart 2012 furry fanfic headcannon but also. That's so fucking cool man. I love her. People ask oh why does she have a demon form but man why should she NOT. Yeah you'd see it in fanfics but isnt that bc we want it. It's in character and in universe and it's cool and I love it bc it's so random but it doesn't destroy the universe and it's COOL it really doesn't go deeper than that man

Meanwhile Mufasa writing is fanfic-y in the way that it has a lot of tropes that you see in TLK fanfiction (white lions, made up lion biology, etc) but it's also BAD bc it's sooo badly connected and the pacing is terrible but also they don't even DO anything cool with it. It doesn't do anything new or exciting with the wacky ideas they decide to use. It doesn't do anything cool with white lions. It doesn't do anything cool with Mufasa being adopted. All comes and goes and leaves no impact.

It'd be the same if they'd randomly introduced Loona's wolf form while she was on the phone or smth. Literally nobody would find that cool the way we are now bc it's hella cool THE WAY they did it

Like fanfics can be bad or good and that's fine bc the only reason they exist is to be self-serving and I give them all the right to be as dumb and as badly written as they deserve and for some people it's just stress relief and some people are literally 11yos having fun. Do whatever you want

But when you have some kind of production then yeah, we expect some level of quality. I just don't think that being "fanfiction level / fanfic-y" is inherently bad you know. It's about how you use it

Both Loona being a feral demon and the whole Mufasa movie have a lot of fanfic tropes but one of them used it in cool ways and the other used it in dumb ways but the tropes themselves aren't the problem you know

I just don't think that fanfic tropes are inherently bad and I'm tired of acting as if they are. Fuck I love THE LION GUARD over Mufasa because The lion guard actually does cool stuff with whatever they did and embraced it being as insane as it is while Mufasa just threw random stuff and didn't do anything with the tropes they used. I would be SO INTO Mufasa having white lions and ghosts and magic and fights and lion monarchies if they bothered to do anything cool with it.

I don't know man. It's not that deep. Sometimes stuff can be silly but also cool. Media can be silly and fanfic-y as long as they write it in a cool way. Which Helluva Boss did and Mufasa didn't and that's the point

been talking a lot on here about jill valentine and her potential as a character but another character i think is often underutilised and disappointingly written is actually wesker. I would love it if they explored the real relationship dynamics between him and STARS, especially Jill and Chris. like it would be so much more interesting if he actually really liked them and maybe even misses his STARS days in his own way, but regrettably has to betray them and move forward with his plans because he genuinely 100% believes he is in the right. it would be gutwrenching if he, Jill and Chris all felt the weight of responsibility over friendship and commradarie, if they had to choose between personal feelings of "but I don't want to hurt you" and taking down who they see as the bad guy.

I mean, in Lost in Nightmares, they find the stuff about Project W. It would be cool if they reacted to this, if they tried to make those connections. It would be so interesting to see Jill and Wesker's dynamic change once she throws them out of the estate - having to work together, begrudgingly trying again to trust each other despite the constant betrayal. If Wesker truly believed he was in the right, it would be easy to try and convince Jill that his plan is the right one after all she's seen (e.g. seeing the effects of chaotic infection, seeing how quick humanity turns on itself, and knowing Wesker may have a way to finally control that chaos and maybe even take the pressure of heroism away from her). It would be a really fascinating portrayal of villainy coming from (twisted) good intention, and it would be kind of cool to see Jill becoming more morally grey.

It would also be interesting to explore Wesker's self-realisation as he slowly loses himself to megalomania in the exact same way Spencer did. Does he feel self-hatred because of this? Would a part of him feel relief at his death once he was mutated beyond recognition? Can he feel anything at all, is there humanity in him??? when he looks at chris, does he feel resentment for the person he could have become, or hatred that he could never have been what Chris is?

cartoonishly evil villains are fun, but I wonder if they'll explore any of this as they try and make the remakes a bit more serious (emphasis on a bit)

Welp, Alfonso "The Face-Breaker" Tombstone and the Boy Squad saved the goddamn world. Al punched the shit out of the big brain and Astarion shot it to death in the most on-brand ending to this whole playthrough.

Plus, his relationship came full circle with Gale. At the beginning, when this had all started, Gale got on his knees to show his ill-fated friend why he was a doomed man walking, his life destined to be cut short by the orb in his chest.

Now, with the world saved and Gale in one crownless piece, he does it again to mark the beginning of new life being built together. Amazing. 10/10. I'm so happy for them.

Abirt Kravitz (Dr Bright Rewrite)

My Dr Bright rewrite! I'm so happy to finally get it done! His name is Abirt Kravitz and he's currently the second oldest out of all 5 Kravitz Siblings. He's also O5-7.

Not much have changed since my former Bright designs other than a change from the amulet and I made him look older and fixed his colours a bit more.

There's still other stuff that I haven't decided on- like their anomalies and backstory. And the 963 Design is not permanent. It's what I'm going with right now until I get some better ideas.

Anyways, some fun facts about Abirt:

Xe uses any pronouns!

Has multiple doctorates and masters because he's old and has a lot of free time but he's most well-known for his specialty in history making him a historian!

He has 3 kids but they went missing years ago (a lore of its own).

Dating Simon Glass! They are your local elderly queer couple!

If the name Abirt is familiar then you're right! It's actually the name for Bright in the Bellerverse canon after they all became gods to the new world!

And the O5-7 part came from the newer series where Jack has been written as part of the council. I really like that idea. Being O5-7 specifically came from SCP-5493 and The Foundation is Broke.

Genderfluid. Jewish origin. Unknown age though rumoured to have been above 2 centuries. Varying appearance with a favour of accessories and jewelry. Said to have gained immortality from a cursed bloodline.

O5-7 plays the role of personnel director. He is in-charge of overseeing all personnel designation within the Foundation. Is also said to personally run at least 3 different Foundation sites in-person.

Known for their lack of formalities and charisma. Within Foundation staff, however, he is known for his irritability and extreme high expectations.

One of the most active O5s with connections everywhere.
