*peers over my glasses* Do I know you? 🤔 lol Is this a sideblog from a mutual or do you just have the same exquisite taste? Either way, love your blog. Your list of problematic husbands was so eerily tailored to my types that I frankly feel called out. 🫣
Hey Vinz Clortho!
I'm a Reddit refugee, basically. I would scan and lurk on Tumblr for stuff I like. Arcane has been my newest obsession and Silco in particular.
I'm awkward af and not great at being sociable especially considering how much I can hyperfixate on something and drive people nuts.
I thought I'd give it a go and just be my weirdo self and see if other weirdos were ok with my posting my weird shit.
I don't want to say I have daddy issues (I literally hate my irl dad) but damn I love older men. Old Hollywood, super morally grey dark horse or villain characters --
Well, I'm glad I'm finding my people here. This has surprisingly turned out fucking awesome. I thought I would just like/reblog stuff and had no idea I hit a nerve with, of all people, Peter Cushing of late.
For every one of my irl friends that was all about Edward, 50 Shades, or the standard hot guy, story hero, I'm over here going, yeah, I'd fuck Darkness, hooves, horns and all.

saying shit about charles on radio that gets broadcasted and make the general audience think charles was shit in the sprint even tho he did a really great defending from max
yeah :/
and i can even believe max didn't say it maliciously (?), but tbh it goes hand in hand with the international broadcast never ever showing charles's important team radios like when he's been swarmed by requests to do LICO lately -- it all adds up towards the nasty narrative of charles being error prone ans just. not good at racing. that the english-speaking broadcast seem so intent on pushing even if it's blatantly wrong!!
#also this was a clear cut penalty backed by data. not sure why people are complaining about it? the vsc timing on the other hand... sus.#answers#charles leclerc#f1#motorsport#me

max's best drive ever?
Not just Max's, but 1 of the best drives in the history of the sport, definitely 1 of the finest ever driven on the intermediate tire. The way he made those tires perform on a wet resurfaced track where theres no mercy found in the white line, no rubber to build on, no drs, no easy overtake, just better cornering, that natural ability to take turns as if the racing line was drawn in front of him that is so his and so so devastating. People watch Austria and Mexico and c recklessness where theres only strength, control and complete lack of fear. In races like todays tho, u get to admire those same hands command the same respect without any room for doubt that he knows, in fact, what hes doing. Any advantage the machines may provide will dwindle and nearly dissipate because in conditions like todays it truly comes down to who knows better. And Max knew better from the moment the lights turned green. I think six cars before the main straight, dispatched, turned to nothing. When conditions worsened and race control began to play wid outcomes he not only endured, he thrived. While others began to pit he trusted himself to stay out, and he wasnt the only one but he was the 1 who did it best. 8 years ago, Max went and found grip everywhere else, and today, in the same circuit, where there was literally no grip to be found, he simply found the better line. He read the race like his favorite book while others could barely color within the shapes. It was somewhat insane to watch tbh, that disparity between racers, not only found in overtakes like on Oscar and Esteban, so crucial and so similar in the way he just knew how to position the car to catch them completely off guard, but also like, the pace alone, the relentless onslaught of perfect lap after perfect lap, 9 consecutive I think, 17 in total. This was a drive that nearly eclipsed 2023, first shades of last year without Newey in the pit wall, in a car that did so badly in Mexico it was getting outpaced by an Haas in its strongest tire. He didnt just come out from p17, he came out of a 20 second penalty, a 5 second penalty during a delayed VSC, an hammer to his quali chances for a late red flag, community service for swearing, shameless questioning of his driving, his wheel, his credibility as a champion, not just his racing but his character, too. I think its the context of all that that rlly makes the best drive of his career so far, because this was his best possible answer, and the only one that matters. p17 to p1 wid a 20 second lead. Some will reminisce about Senna, some will notice that early corner entry and admit Schumacher himself wud have struggled even a few times, the other legend on track whos as good in the wet didnt have the setup nor the confidence to show it, but I think today was a result only Max Verstappen cud have accomplished
#ask#brazil gp 2024#blown away fr#long post#sm to say about this drive bro#sm#like .#when he got to sharl and just knew to wait because sharl had worse balance and wud pit sooner#and he just had this fucking discipline this rigor throughout all that#that was machine like but its 2024 and now everyone is so painfully aware there is a man in that car#who is so very deliberate#also like#gotta shout out ryan reynolds cars especially Esteban bro I wud have settled for p2 wid him he was so strong#mclaren just odd#lando stranger even#nah bro today wont be so easily dismissed#Max did something very special today

People are definitely taking what Lando said out of context, I do get what he was trying to say- that the timing of VSC's, SC's and red flags are entirely random and can swing a race completely in someone else's favour and that in this instance, McLaren got unlucky with it.
But the thing is, he could have said that. He could have just said, "yeah, Max drove incredibly today and unfortunately we just got unlucky with the timing of the red flag".
Yes, people would have still found something in that statement to criticize of course but it is a significantly less aggressive and harder to misinterpret way of saying it.
Instead he said "it isn't talent, it's just luck". Which is obviously going to get misconstrued and twisted and he has to know this. Genuinely what, if any, PR training have they given Lando because it feels like he's just digging himself into a deeper and deeper hole every week where he underperforms.
Lando fans always say he's always harder on himself than anyone else and I do believe that but the issue is he's also taking it out on everyone around him.
This touches on the parasocial what I'm about to say next but I honestly don't know how they're going to stay as close friends as they were before after this season. Lando has at best been letting the adrenaline get to him in post race interviews or at worst being genuinely egotistical in his answers when it comes to racing with Max.
Just look at the differences in how Max responded to Lando's win in Miami versus what Lando said and how he acted this weekend, in Austin, in Austria. Max immediately came to Lando's defense when journalists started to question the timing of the safety car in Miami, the iconic "if my mother had balls, she'd be my dad" not even allowing for the discussion of whether luck was a factor in Lando's victory because it shouldn't be but when the coin is flipped, Lando always somehow sounds like he's making excuses. It's just bad form and it hurts him.

I love when he gets talking and then just keeps talking lmao, like they just have to prompt him and he will deliver a little monologue, e.g.
I didn't hold [Checo] up, I just had to cool my tires a bit more, and that just seemed to allow Oscar to get ahead of Checo, so yeah, no, I did my part today as a team player, and to come away with a first and a fourth was not what we're expecting today, but obviously a great result for the team. It put us on top as a constructor, and first time in 10 years that that's been the case, so a happy day for us as a team, of course for Oscar with a race win is even better, and for me to get fourth, like from 15th I don't think we're expecting it, from even halfway to the race I probably wasn't expecting it, because I had Carlos behind, Checo was behind, Max was just behind, and I hadn't even done my pit stop yet, so I was like, oh god, I'm not in that race for the top, but the pace was amazing, and the car really came alive at the end of the hard stint, and even the whole time on the mediums, and kind of went exactly how we wanted it to go, and even better than that, so yeah, good day.
and
I struggled to get past Alex for a long time, and that's a common thing, I mean Alex just doesn't make mistakes, and the Williams is always quite slippery in the straights, so Alex made my life tough for a lot of laps, and Max was behind me that whole time, and put me under a lot of pressure, but I could make the moves when I needed to, on the rest of the field, whether that was on Max, or the guys further behind, Bearman, and that's always good fun, so yeah, it was a fun race, I say from my side coming through, and always not knowing what to expect, and what we could achieve, so it was always a fun race like this, but yeah, good points. Fastest lap to get ahead of Max was important for me to kind of make me a bit happier after yesterday.
and
[Andrea] was not happy after last night, I was super unlucky. This was one of the most unfair things that I think has happened in a long time. I went off the track, yes, but then there was the yellow flag, and you can't see the flag, so everyone was talking about the white flag and all this nonsense. What they can't see is my dash, which had the big yellow lights on. So a lot of people love talking nonsense and stuff like that, but I had to lift and that took away my chances. So it was a shame, but it kind of made my race exciting today. So we were not happy as a team after last night because we knew we could have had two cars up there, and when you look at where Oscar finished today, we knew we could have had two cars right at the top. And that's what we love to see. So there's more potential. I don't think we're very happy with the weekend because we want perfection, and this weekend was not perfect, but when you look at today and how we executed today, I think everyone should be very happy.
and
It's not for me to decide [about papaya rules]. So I just keep doing my part. You know, I was quick all weekend. I've been very quick. I'm doing a good job, I feel, and I'm executing things well. I feel like I've been a little bit unlucky. and unfortunate, but that's how our racing is sometimes. And yeah, of course, I'm going to be a bit upset about things and not the happiest guy. I'm never normally the happiest guy anyway, but we're slowly catching, but we need more. But I think that can still come. You know, it's still a good amount of races to go. There's still sprint races to go. We're working well as a team, you know, even from like the part of helping Oscar to get the win today, this plays a big part in it all.
he just has things to say lol and i love it. his shorter, cutely passive aggressive answer to laura about the complaints he made to the team about max was great too, that he was "not complaining, just stating facts" lol that max was overtaking under VSC, which he "thought wasn't allowed but maybe i'm wrong" like catty lando is peak lando and it's good to see him 🧡
#'I'm never normally the happiest guy' lando ilu#tbh i like where his head is after that race#i like him asserting that he's been quick and doing a good job#dismissing all the nonsense people were talking about his quali lap#hopeful for the future... yay#lando norris#azerbaijan gp 2024

Vermillion Seas Cardinal Skies: Chapter 19 - Recognition
Hello! I hope you all are having wonderful days! Now that the ZK Big Bang is over, and my story is posted, I should have a bit more time to focus on VSCS. Which, for the sanity of those in the story, may not be a good thing. Anyway, onto some more info!
Turns out that the plane writing session was a massive success! This chapter grew and grew and grew, and originally was going to be nearly FOURTEEN THOUSAND WORDS. It was subsequently split into 19 and 20. I absolutely HAVE to give an enormous shoutout to my editor/beta reader achillmagno for her efforts on this one. It was an absolutely massive undertaking and I’m so thankful for you.
Now, without further interruption, please enjoy a snippet from Chapter 19 - Recognition.
Three swift raps on Azula’s door stir her from a surprisingly restful slumber. Servants rush into her room, throwing open the darkening curtains and windows behind them, filling the room with bright light and the sweet smell of the flowering late summer blossoms. They are quickly followed by Li and Lo who approach Azula’s bed. A scowl sets in as she forces her eyes open. “What. Is. it?” She mutters angrily. The women answer in their typical sing-song cadence alternating who is speaking. “It is your father, Princess.”

After review of the Brazilian GP, I think every Formula One fan can see why Max Verstappen is a generational talent. (TAP TO READ MORE)
After an unfortunate end to his qualifying, PLUS a grid penalty (even with the empty spaces in front of him), Max had to make up 16 places, or at the very least finish a position behind Lando.
From the start to the end, I think we saw the Max we all know. Not the one who races too "dirty" for some people, but the one with exceptional race craft.
Yes, he was lucky with the VSC, SC, and the red flag to get a free pitstop, but that's what separates him from the rest.
Drivers have a responsibility of their own, it's not just all the team's strategy and work. For someone in Max's position, it's wiser to stay out, especially in those conditions. To be honest, the red flag was just a certainty waiting to happen.
But even without that, Max made up places, and he got a 19+ second gap to Esteban, who was having an amazing race alongside Pierre. Of course, those three benefited heavily from the incidents, but all did their part still. Minimal mistakes, good racing, and all in all just driving to perfection.
It's like they say, the engine doesn't matter anymore during a wet race. It's all race craft, the machinery is more on an equal level to each other.
And I just want to finish up with Lando. Yes, the incidents I've mentioned did hinder his race, especially since he pitted, however I do think he made too many mistakes himself as well. And I do think his PR management needs improving. I'm sure he's a lovely guy outside the racetrack and all the cameras, but he does need to improve on his wording and the things he decides to say.
F1 fans are passionate, and it's easy to hate people. We've had it before, and it will continue until this no longer exists. But what you can do is one or both of two things:
- Improve your PR.
Or:
- Ignore the hate.
Whoever is managing his social media needs to get him to either stay away from it, or limit/disable comments. This situation is fresh for him, and I don't think social media helps anyone.
Leave your own opinions in the comments or reblogs, I'll answer if you ask!

Hi! I'm sorry if you've answered this before, but what do you use for your IF writing and how do you organize it? (I might ask a few other writers I admire this so don't mind it if you see this question floating around 🙈)
hi! i pretty much solely use obsidian now, which is a markdown editor.
i used to use visual studio code when i wrote in choicescript, and some people do still use vsc in twine as well (along with tweego) but i have a system now where i write and code in obsidian and then port it all into twine manually once i'm ready, rather than bothering with tweego.
obsidian allows you to have vaults, so i have a vault for each separate project (blood choke, tnp, my novel, etc) then within those vaults i have folders where i separate everything. here's a peek inside the blood choke and tnp vaults:
i use. a LOT of folders, especially for tnp, it allows me to break up scenes and variations easily so i can find what i'm looking for. bc is much smaller so you can see i really only have one main folder for each chapter.
i have a variable file for both (i just had to crop out tnp's cus the vault has too many files lmfao) and i also use a spreadsheet on googledocs to keep track of them, both for how many possible points one can have in any numerical variables, as well as what each variable is used for:
for tnp i actually have a separate google doc for each chapter because there's so many. again, it makes it easier for me to find stuff rather than scrolling thru one big massive spreadsheet.
and that's about it. i keep everything pretty contained within obsidian now. i do keep notes on my phone too but it's very messy (i don't really write on my phone in general like some other people do) and i tend to just send any of that to myself through a private discord server and then i put it into my random notes files for later.
#and i back up all my folders pretty regularly in my drive as well it's easy#obsidian gives everything its own folder within your documents#ask#anonymous

Ever since I saw your post about Peter Cushing playing Silco, I can't get it out of my head. And you know he'd have fun actually playing (hell even voicing) Silco.
I love Silco to death and back and there are a few actors I think could do him justice.
I don't know what it is about Peter Cushing. It just FITS. He has that solemn, other worldly look about him. He can be smooth, deadly, sinister, cynical and yet incredibly gentle all at once.
His mannerisms, build and expressions are perfect for Silco. It's almost too good, it's creepy.
I think he would have enjoyed playing a character like that. It's right up his alley.
If you blended his Tarkin, Van Helsing and Holmes. You practically have Silco.

Github project!
Hello. Many thanks to @starglowwos who just spent two hours coaching me on github, we actually got it running !!!
we are now on github! This means, in short, that anyone can contribute to the website! ...under my supervision, of course. In short, you can make a branch of the isat script project, make your own pages and revisions, submit them (make a pull request) and then they'll be merged into the main thing, which automatically publishes the changes to neocities!
As for how this works, uh. Well. I think I figured it out somewhat-ish, but I've never used github before either. We're all learning here!
So, if somebody knows how to use github and wants to chip in, here you go! The sometimes asked question of "Can I help?" is answered with this!!
Exciting. I think I'll use this method anyways, cuz it means i can update the page straight from vsc, lol. No more drag and drop for me, yall.

how do I set up vsc correctly? I always get project file not found error and I can't find a solution on the internet. Lmk if you have a fix :(
Hi! Thank you for the ask! I wonder in what situation this happens to you? When trying to open the file? Or when trying to run some command? Could be different reasons so maybe my answer won't really help you... But! I've had this issue sometimes; for example, once, I was trying to run a python script, but it wouldn't let me.
Here, the issue is that the folder I have open in VS code is a parent folder to the folder where the file I'm trying to run is located. Here, I'm running the script with the help of the "play" button on the top right.
What it does, I suppose, is try to run the file day-3.py in the directory/folder that is currently open in VS code, but! In the folder advent_of_code_23, there is no file called day-3.py!
So, your issue could potentially be that you are accidentally running your script in a parent folder where it can't be located, since it's in a child folder.
If you still want to have a parent folder up and running, and see all your children folders, you could use the terminal to manually access and run your script.
Step 1: open a new terminal (top option)
Step 2: in the terminal, type ls (stands for list) to see all the folders in your parent folder
Step 3: type cd (stands for change directory) and then the name of the folder you want to navigate into, where the file you want to run is located. (TIP! You can use the tab button on your keyboard to autofill the folder name)
Step 4: Now you can see that your location has changed to be <C:\...\parent-folder-name\child-folder-name>, which means you are now in another folder! So for me, now the location is <C:\...\advent_of_code_23\day-3>, which means I can now directly access everything in this folder! In my screenshot I also typed LS to see what the contents of my folder is.
Step 5: In here, I can now run my python file by typing python day-3.py
If you're working in another language, I would recommend googling "how to start a [language name] in the terminal". Or, if you're running for example a React project, you may want to look in your package.json to see what scripts are available, and run those with your preferred package manager, such as yarn or npm.
In my case, this project is set up with yarn, so I would run this using the yarn dev command.
I hope this has been somewhat helpful, and if it didn't resolve your issue feel free to reach out to me personally and I'd be happy to take a look at your specific case. I can't promise a definite fix, but I can promise that I'll try! 🩷

Hello!! I have been gone for a while, I’m very sorry. My mental health has been deteriorating and i’m quite tired emotionally. My personal life is not doing very well so I might not be rp-ing as much as I used to or give up mid RP. For that. I am sorry.
On the bright side, I have just updated Vex’s art references on my pinned post so if you’d like to see him, feel free to check it out. :) he’s a very handsome devil.
I also might start writing Vex HC’s if you guys wanna send in asks. Ex, how does Vex react to being pet? Does Vex like mayonnaise? I will be happy to answer then from a creators POV instead of as Vex!!
I love you guys 🫶

raginrayguns: what's the principle here, the game doesn't 0 your speed when you get submerged in water?
(context)
So, to give a full explanation would take a pretty long time: the A-Button Challenge has been going on for over a decade, and in that time they have built an extensive corpus of SM64-specific knowledge, much of which builds on previous discoveries, and so a lot of stuff in it can't be understood context-free. If you are interested, Bismuth's recent series on the history of the A-Button Challenge will explain just about everything, although it is several hours long.
The short answer is that while the game usually zeroes your speed when you'd expect it to, over the years the ABC crew has discovered a variety of glitches for vertical speed conservation (VSC) and horizontal speed conservation (HSC) such that this does not occur. In this case, because of the way SM64's floor collision detection interacts with water, you can conserve speed specifically at the apex of that corner you see Mario return to over and over in the video.

« Carlos Sainz having to dictate strategy » ie Motor Sport magazine tweet.
Where does that come from ? We heard it a lot this season.
We heard both Charles and Carlos suggesting things on radio. But neither of them dictated anything.
Is it from the stop inventing » silverstone radio ? Do we call that a strategy call ? Was it that good ?
I feel like Ferrari followed the plans they made in advance and don’t react correctly on race day with new circonstances. Hungary was a great example of that for me.
Maybe Carlos is more assertive from the outside and that where that comes from ? Charles being too easy on the team in front of the media and doing it behind closed doors only ?
It's mostly Monaco and that's only a thing because only half of his radio was broadcast.
The part where he agrees to pit is left out, because it was the pitwall that changed their mind because Checo had already undercut him.
Silverstone just got added onto it because they already had the "precedent" from Monaco.
The stop inventing wasn't a strategy call that was not wanting to do team orders which for Carlos was the right move. All drivers eventually don't listen to some team orders but that doesn't make them strategists.
Hungary drives me up the fucking wall. Ferrari were somewhat alone in starting on mediums.
But at the start they leave Charles behind Carlos for a few laps, then Carlos pits and Charles is in the lead of the race and lap 20 he is asked "how many more laps he can do at this pace". He says "for now the tyres are holding up, 7-8"
Guess what? They pit him lap 21. Ok fine.
Lap 35 they tell him that the warm up on the hards is worse than expected.
Lap 37 Charles says he wants to stay on the medium tyre as long as possible. -> They make his second medium stint even shorter than the first one.
Lap 38 Max pits -> Ferrari panic (they tell Carlos "Charles has boxed to protect") and pit Charles onto the hards.
And then he complains lap after lap about the tyres and tells them to think about stopping him again which they they then do.
On Carlos side Lap 68 of 70 under the VSC Carlos for some reason wants to box for hards for the last two laps. Why idk.
Charles post chequered flag: “oh my god the hard were so bad that’s why I said I wanted to stay on the mediums as long as possible the hard were really bad. Was this the same for everyone or only for us?” → I think it was the same for everyone with the hard → “Why did we go on it? I mean what was the reason then?” → can’t really hear the answer I think Xavi said later → “are we the only ones with 3 stops?” → at the front yes
Carlos post chequered flag: “ tough one very tough one”
“so what happened, was the hard bad, why was VER so quick? no graining?” → the hard was quite poor we believe → “ I mean none of the tyres were great today”
So idk what they were doing that race. all of it was weird tbh. They pitted Charles early to protect from Max undercut but I'm not sure who they were protecting because it would've been somewhat dumb for both drivers.
But yeah Charles isn't stupid when it comes to strategy they just override him a lot. and use him for the team result instead
