"Let's get CREATIVE!~"⭐🎨🖌️
This drawing will be one in a series of Vocaloid song-based drawings. This particular entry features my WIR: Modified (Next Generation AU) children Steep, and Sabrosita Chamoy-Bing-Bing- who I have yet to properly introduce y'all to! Maybe for another time, but for now, enjoy!
The song this is based off of is "CREATIVE", a DHMIS-inspired Vocaloid song originally composed by Creep-P, but also inspired by the later remixed version by Ghost and Pals!

Honestly though saying (or implying) that vocaloid or vocal synths in general "devalues the human voice" is SUCH an incredibly shit take for SO many reasons.
Like yeah Saki Fujita getting so many other roles in voice acting because of her contribution to Hatsune Miku (the anime cameos and stuff are usually done with her original voice, them modified to be robotic) is a bit of an outlier when most other vocaloid and sythns don't have that influence.
You can even sort of wave off the dozens upon dozens of people who go for realistic tuning- like whenever a synth has any sort of clarity, there are like five people commenting about how real they sound. Clearly people do still care about human sounding vocals, because they go nuts over realistic vtuning.
There are many different aspects of vocaloid that use human voices, too- from Set It Off's duet "Why Do I?", human rap artists using Miku's vocals as background, and the entire CONCEPT of Project Sekai which releases AND COMMISSIONS songs for vocal synths and real people.
But the sheer number of vocaloid producers who use their own vocals as back up (MikitoP, PinoochioP, and I believe Kira off the top of my head), the number of producers who can sing and/or do self covers (again Kira, GIGA, Ayase, Teniwoha, syudou and so many more), and the amount of vocal producers who have gone forward with legit musical careers after working with vocaloid (Kenshi Yonezu, most notably, who did work for years under the alias Hachi)
I mean, hell. There are vocaloid producers who go on to become vocaloid vocals themselves- like nostraightanswer, the vocal provider for DEX, who has made both vocaloid and original songs. Some even duets.
That's not even including creators like JubyPhonic, Rachie, Will Stenson, Lollia, Octavia, Razzy and Co., and SO many other HUMAN cover artists who gained following or honed their skills on none other than vocaloid covers. (And that's just a handful of English Cover artists, not like Sati Akura a Russian cover artist or Ado who has commissioned songs from vocaloid artists)
It's also not including UTAUites who input their own voices to use for covers.
"Devalues the human voice" is such blatant bs. They ARE human voices. They are OUR voices. "You'd think by now that we would have learned, behind every piece if art is a human to be heard." (- CircusP, 'Better Off Worse')

Saw a tweet going around like “people are like pjsk is the next project diva but everyone who plays pjsk ignores the vocaloids and talks about some pink bitch named emu” &
1) I want to live in your world I wish everyone talked about emu maybe then people would gaf about her character
2) tf did you expect. it’s a game where they want you to get attached to the characters so you spend money. Why would people not talk about the characters. Shocking and world shattering news: fans of visual novel game like to talk about the characters in the visual novel game. It’s never happened before. I know.
3) Love and light but by virtue of essentially being instruments who can fit any song/story told through song, the vocaloids have very few canon traits. Cfm doesn’t want their special little guys to have major flaws or issues. They don’t have canon ages. The kagamines aren’t even canonically related. Because that would get in the way of using the characters as instruments. Did you learn nothing from the “rabbit hole is problematic because miku was once stated to be 16 (not even true anymore) Pjsk gets around this by having 5 different versions of each virtual singer (6 if you count their portrayals outside of the sekais) with vastly different relationships/personalities that remain separate from their real world characters, but they still exist as very flat static likable characters to preserve their images so giving them a main character moment would be boring.

Love Me, Love Me, Love Me.
I reach out to grasp you, but my greedy fingers meet neither cloth nor skin. Air closes against my palm, and I can feel myself suffocating. My throat closes, and my lungs shrivel. Why? the Cursed Necklace whispers against my ear. Why?
Aren't I kind? Aren't I considerate? Aren't I empathetic?
Aren't I intelligent? Aren't I funny? Aren't I giving?
Hey, am I not a lovable woman?
Snakes coil, trying to comfort themselves in the warmth of my neck, but I cannot breathe, my knees crumpling underneath me. I dream of air. I dream of tasting it, of the cool, languid breeze. I dream of a nostalgic petrichor I have no right to possess.
And yet, as another kneels to extend a hand to me, and the snakes loosen their hold, the air is stale and lukewarm—
(just like a snake's stomach)
—and I cannot help but wonder if that other is to blame. Is there any point if freedom is a slower misery? I wonder, why am I the only one who feels so suffocated in a painful tangle of jealousy and self-loathing?
Why am I so imperfect, why am I so lonely, when all I have ever striven to be is beautiful in body and soul?
Twisting black and white sings against my ears, and I close my eyes to the concerned face staring into mine. That face knows not what I think, nor what I feel. I start to think, "What if I desired your company in hell? What then?"
Smoke fills my nose, and I realize it in bitter, hilarious agony as my hands clutch your throat.
My strangled self had long been damaged beyond repair.

Project Sekai introduced me to Shoujo Rei (Ghost Girl) from MikitoP and then Oktavia did an awesome english cover... So I felt obligated to do this one lol
I did this ENTIRELY on my new iPad as well!! Bit of a learning curve but I wanted to try it out fully. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty satisfied with how this came out! I'll probably do a bit on both iPad & Wacom going forward but when I'm in IL it will be entirely iPad most likely

context
this is so ridiculous.
The absolute disrespect on the impact Meiko and Kaito had on vocaloid aside, do the projsekai team realize that they literally have the power to help make Meiko and Kaito more popular.
They commission songs for the units and they even take pre-existing songs and give them virtual singer covers for a different cryptonloid or add a different cryptonloid into the unit cover (Yobanashi Deceive, originally sung by IA, has a Len cover ingame and Cinema, originally sung by Miku, has Kaito in the unit cover)
Like I get that Miku is in the title and she's the poster child for vocaloid, but at the end of the day projsekai is about virtual singers, namely the cryptonloids. If you can add songs originally sung by Gumi, AI, and VFlower who aren't even cryptonloids, you sure as hell can give the actual cryptonloids some love
