#monogatari series #monogatari #monogatari oms #nademonogatari #nadeko draw #yotsugi ononoki #ononoki yotsugi #nadekodraw:tv #monogatariseries:gif #nadekkogif #ok i MUST go nuts about this somewhere so (cracks knuckles) tumblr tags let's go #first gif yotsugi is doing an attitude pirouette en dedans #second gif yotsugi is doing a demi rond de jambe á terre from fifth position #technically she’s dancing on pointe w/ her boot acting as a pointe shoe which is clever!!! her boots must have crazy foot articulation LOL #for context these are ballet moves which I LOVE!!! i am being catered to shaft looked at ME & said NADEKO DRAW HAS BALLET MOVES 4 U!!!#SO the real neat thing about this imo is the way that it is animated. probably done this way by the limitations of the animators timewise #for context in ballet a key thing when you dance is that your body should be constantly moving outwards from yourself e.g.#your arms reach as far as they can and your legs reach as far as they can etc. your back too! up and out like you are being pulled!!!#the point of this is bc dance is alive & humans who dance are alive! even when you hold a position you are thinking about moving outward #doing this breathes SO MUCH life into the dance! it is literally so important visually it makes a HUGE impact #but yotsugi doesn't do this! she doesn't breathe life into the dance bc she's not extending her body outward she simply holds a position #yotsugi is obviously very skilled to do what she's doing here like a pirouette is hard af you need crazy strength to go on pointe too #so imo she performs the moves in the correct way! she is turned out! she knows what she is doing! this is not due to lack of training!#my personal theory is that she moves this way because she is a reanimated corpse!!! she literally CANNOT dance like somebody who is alive!!#corpse baby is dancing her best and imo she's very good!!! 🥺#as a ballet enthusiast i just think it's a really neat lil touch and works well (despite the fact that it is probably accidental LOL)#anyway hi i'm noisy please enjoy my ballet ramblings lmfao! i will regif this when the BD comes out bc i want it to be extra pretty!!!#regarding the gifs. both first and second are loops!!! please enjoy ballet dancer yotsugi 🩰

#3$BY era Fred was a fucking fine specimen #I'm a fan of that gritty-low-key-aura that surrounded him before the more “polished” SO and CSATHFW looks (but I still love those looks)#and on another note: look as much as adore young Marshall Mathers (yes I love referring to him by his government name) and his platinum hai #Freddy's platinum blonde hair looked just as beautiful but didn't get as much a spotlight compared to the Detroit rapper #and it's a shame because Fred rocked the look very well and this is my way of showing his bleached hair some much needed love and attention #Okay some of you may know that Sour is my fave 3$BY song/music video.#Making this gifset made me realize another reason why I love it so much. every so often I discover new things I'm unhappy with about the Sandman adaptation and each one is pettier than the last

what do you MEAN the word battle is between Dream and Lucifer? no it's NOT. it's between Dream and Choronzon who's acting on Beelzebub's behalf it's about the petty politics of Hell which is in large part what Lucifer finds so tiresome.

also why does Dream have human eyes give that bitch some contacts or Something

#red said #i need to block the sandman tag i just have such a hateon for this show #that i have not and will not watch #even for understandable adaptional decisions!#like it's a LOT of story and not all of it is intuitive and i understand the need to simplify it and pare down the cast #it's entirely fair to say whittle out the triumvirate which frankly doesn't play THAT much part in the story #but also if you're not introducing Choronzon and Beelzebub here it does require shifting a big chunk of the endgame story of Seasons of Mist #cause who. is he bargaining with from hell who has a grudge against him. if the person he's clashed with in hell is Lucifer #who's the one giving up the key and initiating the plot #see this is why. you shouldn't adapt the story you should leave it alone :(#it's a story that is DESIGNED for the language and reading style of comics!!!!!!!!!!!#the visuals don't work onscreen cause the imagery is about panel to panel juxtaposition!!!!!#the plot doesn't work onscreen because the comic is reliant on the reader's expectation that they're reading part of an established world #cause it's marketed to superhero comics fans! so it can make broad gestures towards how the world works and expect you to extrapolate!#but tv and film don't work like that! we expect to have things much more fully explained in screen media!#even now that extended universe screen media is popular it still isn't the norm #it's not the foundation of the narrative language of film and tv the way it is with comics #tv already has less space than comics to tell the same story because it's timebound in a way comics are #it can't montage through scenes as fast or make as many jumps shot to shot as comics cause that would be overwhelming and confusing #and then WITHIN that if you have to stop and explain who people are you HAVE to shrink the cast #TV stories just don't have space for the kinds of huge-cast complex-interwoven-plot storytelling that comics do #especially if they want to have ANY time at ALL for slower character moments #so you gotta cut stuff down #like yeah your average floppy is what. 32 pages including covers and ads?#and your average episode of TV is 30-60 minutes #but a) that script is probably not much longer than the finished comic #and b) it needs to be way more focused because as i say comics language let's you jump around #in a way that screen language doesn't #you can't do the two important lines from a conversation then move onto the next thing #it feels jarring and rushed in film

Thinking of Roy as an ominous and malevolent presence but not a cartoonishly evil one... like he's a producer with a Child Star son he's trying so hard to set up for simultaneous success while also keeping him ignorant enough that he can play a "child" on TV as long as possible so he doesnt grow up and grow independent.

He hates Duck's guts and fires him but will take his input and all his ideas (feeding Yellow canned Duck both the literal visual sense but also Duck's input in the show's writing is still there just uncredited).

He sees a kindred spirit in Red so seeks him out when the show jumps the shark and says "hey. We made a great team, didn't we? Come back on the show, I can give you a voice"

#i have. so many thoughts about the webseries.#like the way the songs get progressively 'worse' and sound like theyre being made up on the spot #and one of the hosts/teachers actually looks and sounds absolutely hammered #the way the last half of DHMIS 6 is almost like when a long running sitcom brings back every single minor character #but its not narratively satisfying (in terms of the show in the show) because of the blatant emptiness on screen #because theres only one main lead left and he doesn't even want to be there #dhmis #chatter #like i feel like with roy theres that one interview where most of his fanon characterization comes from and is exaggerated to a point where #a lot of comments on particularly is parenting of yellow is filled in for the sake of roy looking cartoonishly awful and abusive #and having yellow be ''''rescued'''' by red and duck #and like i dont think he thinks hes doing the right thing and thus should be absolved of all the shit hes implied to have put his kid thru #but thats the key word there. implied. so much is added to the yellow and roy dynamic where it winds up feeling kinda torture fetishy?#if that makes sense. like idk what the right word is but you get me #its like what he has canonically said and done isnt ''extreme'' enough for yellow to be (rightfully) traumatized #by being in a nightmarish simulation forcibly showing him horrific visuals and in some cases physically mutilating him
