Her steps quicken on their own. The kiosk stands exactly where she remembers it. A small, dimly lit corner. The shadows of her childhood still seem to echo here.

Vi takes a deep breath and walks inside. The figure behind the kiosk lifts her head. Time stops the moment their eyes meet.

Vi doesn’t miss the first shock in the Rara’s eyes. She sees how her breathing stops for a moment, how her fingers grip the edge of the counter tightly. Something she’s kept bottled up and suppressed for years flashes in her eyes. Missing?

Finally, the words break through the silence. Her voice is shaky but sharp.

“I miss you.”

At that moment, a strange weight forms in Vi’s chest. For a few seconds, the walls of the past collapse, and memories flood in. The days when they would hide in a corner from the rain as children, the nights they would laugh together, then those moments when everything fell apart…

Vi smiles bitterly. She swallows and speaks in the closest voice to her old tone.
