ASPARASHANKS! With The GrownUp Gang™

Y'all know I love me some Asparashanks! I can still get behind Skimbledots but I do hc Skimble as gay rather than bi, so that complicates things. Jenny and Bustopher also certainly have chemistry, but I don't get the same kinda feels from them as I do say Asparashanks or Dembalustrap. And Jelly/Spara (Asparagus Jr) is the only notable existing pairing in the fandom that comes close to a NOTP for me, because I hc them as siblings-in-law (Jelly is the widow of Spara's late brother) and Spara as 100% gay thank you very much.

Mungoteazer and Rum Tum Teazer with crack!Mungopat and BROTP Victeazer. This one may be my most controversial chart. I hc Mungo and Teazer as not siblings, and I absolutely love their chemistry. This does seems to be the unpopular opinion, but hey that's what opinions are for. Rum Tum Teazer mostly stems from Tugger joining in with Mungoteazer during the orgy in the 1998 video, and I only didn't make a purple line for Mungotugger because... well because I forgot, and I don't feel like trying to edit it again in my shitty screencap editor. (There should have been a yellow line for Mungotugger also). And I know a lot of folks like Victeazer as romantic, but idk why I don't get that vibe from personally. I'm open to it and may in the future get behind it, but rn for me their dynamic is more Teazer is like a cool big sis figure, "bad role model" style. As for Mungopat, idk man I just think their cute together. Don't really seriously ship them at all but I think they would make for good one-off fics or something where they get up to mischief together. It'd be totally casual, though, I don't think they'd ever actually work in a real relationship.

Pladmetopat/Georicoplato (depending on which name you use). Had to alter the chart a bit for this one. Idk where this one comes from, but I absolutely love Pladmetus, and I'm liking the idea of Corico with either of them (especially Admetus IDK WHY) more and more every day

And finally the extremely confusing KittenClub chart, with... so much stuff...

Jemlectival and Platumbival are my BROT3s (along the BFF Power Trio™), and I could see Electival as a sort of puppy love/high school romance sort of deal. Cety and 'Metus as buddies may seem random but they're cousins in my hc. Electra and Plato are both in training to be protectors, so they bond over that. Cety and Victoria are probably my strongest BROSISTP that doesn't also involve a bro (Jemlectival/The GrownUp Gang) and I have no idea why. Victoria and Jem enjoy gossiping and keeping secrets between them. And Platoriaffolees and Pladmetus was discussed earlier, but I included them for completion's sake.

No relationships in Cats are set in stone, and every production does things a bit differently—although some are more common or official than others! So here's what we've collected so far from actors' comments about the relationships between characters in the 2021 US tour.

Alonzo x Demeter: A cute friendship which Lauren enjoys playing (X); and/or Demeter is Alonzo's onstage crush (X).

Bombalurina x Rumpelteazer: Rumpelteazer loves Bombalurina and wants to be her (X).

Bombalurina x Demeter: They're basically a single unit when it comes to looking after the kittens (X). They enjoy their character interactions, and Lauren refers to Chelsea's Bomba as her 'bae' (X X).

Bombalurina x Grizabella: Used to be best friends (X); plus here's Grizabella's backstory as told by Chelsea (X).

Bombalurina x Munkustrap: Like siblings (X).

Demeter x Macavity: She loves Munkustrap but thinks Macavity is hot (X), and enjoys exploring Demeter's conflicted emotions during the Macavity fight (X). They have a past together, which she has only recently escaped, and to Macavity she is the one that got away (X).

Demeter x Mistoffelees: They love each other and enjoy the time they spend together during Skimbleshanks' song (X).

Demeter x Munkustrap: "Cute little romance", according to Bomba (X). Demeter loves Munkustrap but thinks Macavity is hot (X). They agree that they are cute, and also prone to onstage giggle-fits together (X). Their moment together after the Macavity fight is sweet and wholesome for them (X). Lauren said that Demeter's journey involves learning to be brave and love again - it's possible she means forming new relationships within the tribe in general, or specifically loving Munkustrap (X). At one point she referred to Sillabub as their daughter, but it's not clear whether that's literal or just 'we treat her like ours' (X).

Demeter x Sillabub: Though she's new to the tribe and learning to trust/love again, 'Auntie Demmy' spends a lot of time with Sillabub and Victoria, has bonded with them, and protects them (X). Later, Lauren referred to Sillabub as Demeter's and Munkustrap's daughter (X).

Mungojerrie x Rumpelteazer: May be adopted into the tribe - though this might be a joke. Even if we take it seriously, no word so far on whether this means they're related to each other or if they just bonded over being outsiders in the tribe. Kelly also refers to Max as her 'work husband', which suggests that they consider them as canonically a couple on the same level as Skimbledots.

Munkustrap x Rumpelteazer: Munk is 'too easy for her to mess with' (X).

Munkustrap x Sillabub: Sillabub may be Demeter's and Munkustrap's daughter (X).

Munkustrap x Tugger: 'Brothers for sure' (X); in fact, brothers 'for Jellicle life' (X).
