Thursday, Thursday, Thursday ...
Up since stupid o'clock. One and only marble completely off axis. Heading for the shiny metropolis with Captain Blackbeard as his left ear is stubbornly refusing to cooperate with the whole getting better idea. Fingers crossed for the umpteenth visit being the charm that works!
In other news ... the above little moth has been asleep in the same spot on the window for the past three days. There were two moths, but the other one's alarm clock obviously did the trick.
Time to go ... arrive derci ... back on the morrow ...

Chai was upset at being taken to the vet, unfortunately he has a lump that looks to be a mammary tumour so he's going in for surgery tomorrow.
The vet said that mammary tumours in rats tend to be benign, whereas they tend to be malignant in mice, so it may well come back in a matter of weeks. Mammary tumours are known for growing quickly, so if it does return it may not be long before it restricts his mobility and affects his quality of life. Hopefully the surgery will successfully remove the entire tumour and Chai will be back to digging and rearranging his cage in no time 🤞

Had to take Seven to the vet thinking she maybe had a lil infection. She doesn’t like other people so she was extra spicy. They had to sedate her just to examine her. Why is she like this. 🙃😂
Anyway she’s good though, she’s been treated with an antibiotic.
And she’s now super needy.
And a little bitter.
She’s beedy.

My 2 babies couldn’t be any more different when it comes to venturing to the vet.
Drax LOVES sniffing everything and saying hello to all- humans and animals alike.
Gamora tolerates it until she can go home. All the while needing constant reassurance from me.
Love my babies so much

not "i ship these characters" or "i want them to bond platonically" but a secret 3rd thing (I want them to be forced to interact by the Narrative bc they would HATE that)

Damien...
I love car rides. I enjoy the wind blowing against my face as I bask in the scenery outside the half opened window in the backseat. Sometimes when we drive across the city, I enjoy watching people go about their everyday lives. Not this particular car ride though. There's my younger hooman holding me tight, making sure I stay secured in his lap. There's my woman hooman, the person who has been with me the longest. Something isn't right though. Her eyes are glassy, and her smile seemed to hide so many things racing in the back of her head. I don't like this car ride. I feel very uncomfortable. My head and my stomach hurt. I puked once and felt sorry my hooman had to catch it all in the only plastic bag she brought along. We arrived in a familiar place. I think I've been here once, or twice? I couldn't be sure. Age is catching up on me sooner that I thought. I sprawled across the floor as my woman hooman talked to the very kind lady on the counter. I couldn't quite understand what they are saying but something in what the lady said made my hooman swallow a big lump in her throat. They carried me on the table and poked stuff on my eyes, tongue and butt. It hurt a bit but I didn't move. I want my hooman to know I'm fine. They are talking again while they rub my fur. My fur has grown sticky from all the vomit I did earlier in the day. I don't think I'm allowed a bath, otherwise, both hoomans would've cleaned me immediately back home. A strong guy carried me away and placed me on a cage. I couldn't see my hoomans but they are still talking faintly in the background. They stuck a needle on one of my feet, it hurt a bit but I can somehow manage. I lay on the cage listening quietly on the sounds around me. I hear some dogs barking loudly. I hate young dogs, they bark on every single damn movement they see or hear. I only bark when necessary. Years of being a dog taught me that. A few minutes passed and both the woman and young hooman came and stroked my fur saying something I couldn't quite comprehend. I don't like seeing their sad eyes, I want to do something but there's this cage, and the pain in my back, stomach and God knows where else. I think I hurt everywhere. I want to stand but I couldn't. I couldn't comfort them. They smiled weakly and started moving toward the door. I think they are leaving me here. I trust my hoomans know better. I think they want me to be well. My eyes are failing me too, but I can see figures moving around, checking me out, poking me and sticking some more needles in. I'm still in pain but I think about that gentle stroke in my fur from my two hoomans and it makes me feel better. I trust they know what's best for me.
In the faint light of this small room, I think I saw some circles under my woman hooman's eyes. Something is tormenting her, God I hope it's not me. They always affirm I'm a good doggy, but I wonder what I am now. They dimmed the lights a bit. Another stroke in my fur and a gentle tap on my legs. These people in scrubs seemed nice. I eased myself in the cage and listen attentively to my surrounding. Footsteps approaching and fading. Cats meowing (I've come to like cats in my 13 years of living with a few), a bratty younger dog barking at the slightest sound. The light switch flicking on and off. Water pouring, cages being opened then closed. Ah what a busy place. I decided to doze off and rest. Tomorrow will be better. And maybe, just maybe, I get to enjoy a good ol' car ride one more time..

6 years since we got Sophie from an organization that rescued dogs from being puppy mill breeders… and today the vet gives us the best news ever.
Tumblr media
At 11 years old, Sophie is the healthiest she has ever been. The vet said he wouldn’t be surprised if she lives to 17.
Tumblr media
Stormy got his shots and check up too, but we’ve had him since he was 7 months old so he’s always been healthy. He lost two pounds he had gained from taking Sophie’s often abandoned food. We’ll get him down by one more and he should be set.
Tumblr media
Knowing we are doing our best by both of them, even if the meds and frequent vet visits for Sophie sometimes get expensive… They love us, and we love them.

The man on the radio is elsewhere, so the very enthusiastic lady on the radio is giving it quite some welly this Wednesday morning. Weatherwise there's intermittent rain and sunshine ... recommendation is for both 'the umbrella' and a deckchair. The traffic lady talks traffic light outages and tailbacks before declaring she's off to catch up on some reading.
Today's groaner: Why did the lion eat the tightrope walker? ... He wanted a well balanced meal ;-D badoom tish ... here all week!!
Mad Hatter's Tea Party is pretty much where the shiny metropolis has left my head. If the Dormouse falls into the teapot one more time, I may just fall in there too.
On the plus side, Little Dude's injection went well and he's now having a couple of days well earned snoozling. And on the plus, plus, plus side ... Busterson's leg is not broken, just heavily bruised along with his ego. First time I've seen him with a full face mask on at the vets so temperature could be checked and injection given. Oh the indignity Mr B and I promise I'll tell no-one. Oh wait ... ;-)
Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday and the coffee pot is all mine ...

Ben was two weeks off celebrating a year without cancer, unfortunately he's had a reoccurrence. He had surgery today and is now back home protesting his cruel and unusual punishment (cage rest without any shelves or his wheel).
