War Paws evacuated some dogs to the UK two years ago when Ukraine was invaded, and has others waiting in Romania, but there's been a lot of prejudice rising against 'foreign dogs' in the UK recently, and they have had no enquiries for either foster or adoption.

If you might be interested in fostering or adopting a dog refugee in the UK, please take a look at their dogs?

This one is called Karim. I would offer to foster her myself if I didn't have a very old frail dog who doesn't need the stress of an unfamiliar dog in her house. More details.

Clare was raised by cats and acts like a cat. She will bop me like a cat would. She makes very cat like noises. She attempts to make biscuits. She rubs against your legs like a cat would. Do not touch her unless she wants the attention. Do not give the other dogs attention she deserves that attention more. Jumps onto everything.

She's an honorary cat.

My turtle dog~ I want to thank everyone's kind words on my last post about my grandma's passing. I've been taking it easy and painting my dogs to take my mind off things. this is Luna's favorite pose

Meant to do this on National Dog Day, but better late than never...

I lost my 14-year old boy back in February and, since I can't live without at dog, I adopted a new boy in March.

Meet Trajan:

He came from a shelter in Southern California, where he had been for over a year. They DNA tested him and discovered he was a combination of different Northern breeds so they reached out to shelters in Alaska, where I saw him on a website run by a friend of mine who finds homes for retired sled dogs.

They were calling him Pepperoni, but I thought he needed a stronger name. I also think he is a GSD/Karelian Bear Dog mix, not the Malemute/Husky and Greenland Dog that the DNA test showed.

This was his reaction to seeing snow for the first time:

I think he is going to like it here in Alaska.

We have also discovered he is unclear on the proper use of dog beds...

He believes every source of water needs to be thoroughly tested...

Balls must be stored in holes...

And, of course, no one ever feeds him, or gives him any attention...

It has been a big adjustment going from 14-year old energy to 2-year old energy, but we will get through it.

The pit of his stomach was bubbling like it was suddenly filled with lava, and he felt a bit of bile in the back of his throat. “That’s why people fuck kids, right? Because they know they can, and that no one will stop them, and that it’s… So long as they pick the right ones, everyone will let them – society will let them. That’s what it means, when someone’s a criminal, or, or when they’re, um… I don’t know. It’s like an invisible mark, and it’s a kind of permission that everyone knows about, but doesn’t talk about. That you can fuck those kids, and hurt them, and no one will do anything.”

“Why do you think that is?”

“You’re not arguing with me?”

“Do you want me to?”

“Do you think that’s the way the world is?”

“I think if that’s the way it feels like the world is to you, there’s a reason for that,” Dot said quietly, and Valorous felt his shoulders, which had risen up and stiffened, loosen again. “Why do you think the kids who get targeted get those invisible marks?”

“I don’t know,” Valorous said. “Because they deserve it.”

“And do they?”

“Because it’s their destiny.”

“You said to me before that destiny is almost retroactively applied,” Dot pointed out. “That you never know for certain that something was actually destined until after the fact.”

On Dogs

I think the hardest part of losing a dog you love isn’t having to say goodbye . . . . It’s the way your entire world changes without them and the emptiness that’s left in your heart when they go. unknown

Everyone listen. If you ever wanted to volunteer in an animal shelter but thought 'eh, they don't need my help, there's a lot of people there' trust me. They do need your help. Yes even if there are a lot of people they are exhausted. They get so many calls of dogs and cats needing rescue. They often take them in to their own homes because other volunteers/workers don't have a place for more animals anymore. I know a shelter volunteer who has tons of kittens at her house. Another one who feeds stray cats. People who spend tons of their own money on helping those animals because there's no one else that will do it. Any help is always appreciated, even if you can be there only once per month. So please, support your local animal shelters. They need it

Im working on drawing Stuilly dogs right now, so far I have decided on a disabled retired German Shepard (1), a Rottweiler they got as a puppy (2), a senior chihuahua that is blind (3) and a pug (4). I want another dog that is possible deaf and therefore wears a schock collar for commands etc. Help me guys please 🐒 also for names I don’t have any ideas yet, but the chihuahua is definitely gonna be the princess of the pack and Stu and Billy carry her around a lot!!
