The chickens got to meet a deer this evening and it was absolutely adorable. So wish that I'd had my phone or camera with me to take some pictures!

I had the girls out for their evening supervised playtime in the yard and while I was digging up some worms for them I noticed a deer walking up the road towards my driveway. I pour out a little bird seed in my driveway every day and she was headed right for it. As soon as the chickens saw her, all four of the babies ran to investigate. She was much more wary of them than they were of her but she was still curious enough that she didn't run. And I hadn't moved so she didn't notice me.

They got within about three feet of one another and just observed each other for a couple of minutes. Then the babies ran back to me and Olivia (who opted not to check out the deer; she's a much older lady and has seen more of the world I suppose haha) and the doe carried on with her evening snack. <3
