Farmdog went to the vet today for a checkup and update on his shots. He has a clean bill of health! His medication isn't causing anemia (which is a possible side effect).

He's a little overweight, but not horribly so. Chalk it up to decreased activity over the winter. He will either shed it soon, or I'll put him on a diet.

He went into TSC with us afterwards and got a couple of treats! He's never walked in a dog friendly store before. I've kept him away for fear he'd have issues walking on the floor. He did fantastic! I'll need to bring him more often to get him better on the leash and more socialized. I'm proud of my boy!

He's all tuckered out from his adventure.

Thank you so much for asking! We actually just went for her 8 week recheck Xrays last week and the great news is she is all healed! Her bone is totally back together and we have the all clear to work back up to normal activity!!

I’m so happy and relieved that she is okay and that things can get back to normal, and I can stop worrying like crazy about her leg any time she is out walking around.

We will still be doing some PT because she still isn’t using her back legs totally evenly, but other than that we will be phasing back into sport training.

SCARECROW UPDATE!!!

We had our very appointment today;, Scarecrow was a bit shaken by the car ride, but he did VERY well at the vet and got complements on how handsome he is (which is true)

Turns out, according to the vet, he has been throwing up due to hairballs, which makes since considering how much he's been shedding lately. He has a high temp, so possible fever as well, but he got a shot and medication for that. (he does not like syringe feeding lmao)

Anyways, I'm investing in a nice cat brush and some hairball control treats for him. He's doing a lot better now, has eaten and drank and isn't throwing any of it up--so good!!

Thank you to everyone who donated, I had a little bit left after paying the vet ( which was about 150 usd) so I'm gonna take that and put it towards my moms car fund.

was finally at the vet with my cat and luckily it’s nothing bad (just has a slight heart issue, sometimes it pauses for a bit and that’s why she collapses) and she’s well, turns out she’s now almost blind (sees a little on the right eye) but other than that she’s good especially for almost 17 years old. man im so happy abt it <3

Cute Vino pics in her new fancy Big Barker bed! This is a brand I’ve been hunting for on resale sites for a long time and I was really lucky to find the exact one I wanted at a really good price. I’m excusing myself for buying Another Bed since this one is fancy and orthopedic and Vino is injured so she deserves it.

In related news we saw the ortho doc and got checked out for surgery, her CCL tear is total or close enough :( and the surgery is going to be around $5000 :(((((((( so that’s super fun and I’m not stressed at all. I’m going to look into care credit and other pet insurance and stuff like that. Wish me luck lol.

In case anyone was wondering what Vader has been up to, she's a big dumbdumb baby who tore her dew claw in the middle of the night and had a trip to the emergency vet.

She is doing fine now and after several swanky bandage changes her nubbin is looking great (claw should grow back in three weeks or so).

Ciabatta gave us a gi statis scare yesterday but it turns out she was angry her cilantro wasn't organic for the first time in her life. She also refused to drink water until I hand fed her floral water in a glass

I was asked to make a campaign post for @asmaayyad2, like many families in Gaza, hers and her family's lives have been upended by the war.

Their GoFundMe describes how they fled to the south, all 8 of them and their beloved Cat, who sadly passed away due to lack of resources.

Timur, was a dear companion to this family. Just as my cats, and all my animals are to me. My heart hurts that he couldn't be saved, but it's not too late to save Asma and her family.

Welp! Winter's boy has a respiratory infection. It was causing him to wheeze so to the vet we went! Luckily it wasn't a diaphram issue (which had us worried because of his umbilical hernia). His hernia also came up normal on his x-rays.

(X-rays left out because might bother people, but I can send them on request)

He's on meds several times a day and taking them like a champ, but had to be put in a pen with limited free playtime (because nothing will stop Mr Indestructible from running around the house with all the grace of a car with no breaks). We DID get a reply after just a week from a really nice person who was going to give us one (shocked us let me tell ya because it was BIG dog sized). Unfortunately, they left it outside for us to pick up and someone else just... took it. Right out of their yard. And since all we had was a small cat carrier to keep him in (which was kinda cruel for more than a day or two tops), we ordered a cat playpen that we got for a decent price. We kept looking until it got here, but no luck. Still! It's a nice playpen and we have it set up so he doesn't have to jump if he doesn't want to (plus more vertical to enjoy later on). Sarah's mom also let us borrow her water fountain!

We went to a new vet as ours was booked up (and he had already been wheezing a day). Everyone basically fell in love with him instantly. He left with a little toy from the tech, they gave Winter a jar of honey (one of the people in the office has bees and they wanted to give her something for caring about a kitten that most wouldn't have despite him having a treatable condition), and they've been checking in on how he is recovering (very well since I first typed this actually). He's basically got an entire vet office wrapped around his little paw.

Also, the non-profit we're taking him to for his surgery had a cancelation and his got moved up to the 12th! Counting down the days yall.

Because I gotta kinda mention it, this hit us where it hurts. Between the vet visit and testing, the pen, and the estimated cost for the surgery and followup, it's gonna cost us more than $2k (as long as nothing ELSE goes wrong). We're lucky that we're all super careful with our money, but there's only so much we can save up with three people below the poverty line. Still worth it though. I mean, look at this doofus

He is so stubborn that we can't leave scratch posts upright because he keeps doing THIS! XD
