had an interview for a plant job in Nevada and afterwards the interviewer emailed me a list of all the known plants there confirmed by the organization and I keep considering responding with ‘Wow, and all these plants are running casinos you say?’ and every time I restrain myself

#i probably could do it because the interview went very well and we just talked plants for an hour #he read me so well dude at one point he asked me what my favorite basal angiosperm was #and I was like I’m gonna be honest it’s gotta be that one singular shrub found only on an island off the coast of Australia #that has no vessels only trachieds for moving water around like it’s some kind of pine tree #breaking news: local shrub must push water through a bunch of tiny tubes instead of a mix of tiny and large tubes. imagine doing this #i looked it up and it’s Amborella. that’s the plant in question

yk re-reading natsume after knowing abt matoba's cat autism makes him sound SO different in my head lol he asks abt nyanko-sensei constantly it almost feels like he's more interested in sensei than natsume

#almost tho #i was checking something tanuma related #bc yk the new chapter #but there's no list with chapters where each character appears #and the fandom wiki is so inaccurate #so i have to look thru chapters #then i got to the eastern forest chapter and ended up reading it again #and well #one of the first things he asks: “where's your cat”#and like it's a pattern it's so funny #if he meets natsume but sensei is not present for some reason #the first thing he asks is abt him #he's so ridiculous lol #natsume yuujinchou #also it's so obvious in retrospect that midorikawa had the nyanko sensei vessel backstory in her head for a long time #like clearly matoba's so interested in sensei bc he's in the ultra rare cat vessel he's been hyperfixating abt since childhood #and i never would have guessed that especially while i still hated him lol
