The leftism/anticapitalism leaving people's bodies the zeptosecond you imply that disabled people who aren't "productive" still matter in society and need to be treated like intrinsic equals who have a place in this world:

Following an accident, Danny wakes up in Gotham City in a DC universe. Lacking any forms of ID or possessions beyond the clothes on his back, he’s forced to commit some crimes to survive. Minor crimes, but still.
And then he gets caught.
During the court proceedings, they come to the mistaken conclusion that he’s a Meta suffering from some psychiatric issues such as Cotard’s Syndrome (a real rare condition where a person holds the delusional belief that they’re dead/don’t exist/etc).
Thus, between his “need for mental treatment” and the concerns about housing someone with his unique physical traits, he is sentenced to spend time in Arkham Asylum. He’s under pretty low security aside from the anti-Meta stuff and has more freedoms than some other inmates, but it’s still not a great experience. Even at the best of times, Arkham is hardly a nice place.
Some of his fellow residents are decently chill all things considered, but lots very much aren’t.

I think it's so funny that people are behaving as though all the Disco Elysium spiritual successors are effectively equivalent.
Cause Dark Math's press releases are all along the lines of "We're making a super cool edgy detective RPG. It's gonna be just like Disco Elysium, except with less words and more bullets, because who likes reading, am I right? Anyways, it's gonna be sooo cool and way more fun than Disco Elysium 😎"
And Longdue has said "uhhh yeah we're not really ready to talk about specifics yet. There's probably gonna be some weird psychological dream stuff going on. Idk. It's gonna be fun trust us"
Meanwhile Summer Eternal has hardly done any interviews, and if you read their manifesto and blog entries they're all like "Capitalism and insatiable corporate greed have irrevocably damaged the infant medium of video games. Workers in our field are treated as commodities at best and entirely disposable at worst. We intend to do everything in our power to create an uncompromised, complete, and unapologetic work of art, or we will do down trying. This isn't about making the next Elysium, this is about making something entirely new and revolutionary."

Something something 141 with a tall reader (around 6'ft+ or so) who's never been romantically approached by anyone or who has only ever been asked out as a joke because of their height and has kinda given up on relationships entirely.
So, when this group of four approaches you one time (or just any one of them) you kinda just... look at them a little suspiciously because there's no way they'd be interested in awkward thing like you. You brush off any of their words thinking this is just another joke pulled on you. Not falling for that again!
Leaving the guys just baffled looking at you awkwardly leave because they really genuinely just wanted to ask for your number... 😔
Unfortunately they're too stubborn to just let you go like that—

Any au that has Jason willingly working for the government even if it’s as a social worker has automatically kinda lost me because we’re talking about someone who distrusts the system so much that as a child he chose the streets over going into custody of social services. Jason’s lack of faith in institutions continues into adulthood (but also through his original Robin tenure low key), one of the most substantial differences between his and Bruce’s philosophy is the fact that Bruce puts his faith in the law and the criminal justice system while Jason decidedly does not in the slightest

Hello! Okay, so i have question about your radioapple human AU. (I don't know if you've answered this question yet)
Is there a special day when you post another part of this AU? (first, i thought it's like 3 days, then that on Tuesday, but now i don't know, should i wait for some exactly day or its random? 😭)
I work on it in my leisure time, and some weeks are busier than others. There’s no schedule for release. I’ll post the next part when I finish it.
I promise that I’m the most eager to see the next part finished haha.
And I’m very eager to share it with you all 🤗
I’m sorry it’s inconsistent, but this is something I do for funsies outside of my duties in life

In my last Hades ramblings, I was discussing in a broader sense how I'm hoping to see fragmenting of Melinoe's allies as Prometheus sways many of the mortals (or mortal adjacent) to his side. I mentioned Icarus very briefly in that mortal group because his dialogue in response to finding out Prometheus is their enemy is him being quite confused by that. Which I mentioned it mostly to highlight the trend of reactions from mortals basically all going "wait our favorite dude is fighting against us... huh", not because I genuinely thought Icarus would turn against Melinoe.
But I've ruminated on Icarus more, as well as got some more dialogue from him and about him in game, and found an interesting trend.
Icarus is a character on borrowed time. It comes up constantly (I recently got Circe's dialogue on it), that he's only allowed to fly freely as he does while the gates of Hades are open. Once they defeat Chronos, and everything goes back to "normal," he will be shoved back in the underworld, never to fly again.
Icarus' whole thing is that he was raised in a prison, was allowed to fly freely for a beautiful moment, before daring to fly a bit too high, and then went tumbling to his death. And then upon his death, he was constrained to a different prison. And in a more metaphorical sense, he's shackled to his shitty dad's legacy too.
Of course Icarus recognizes that if Chronos is defeated he'll be trapped again. That the skies he loves will be once more a faded memory, but chooses to fight for the gods anyway. To fight with Melinoe who he obviously cares a lot about. Which is why I never really considered him "betraying" her.
But hmm, idk. Like I said, I just got Circe's dialogue on him, so it's on the brain. But she basically goes "awww that boys so helpful. Shame he can't fly forever, but it hey, it is what it is, hehe." Just the casual acceptance of it all. And she's just one example of that sentiment. That of course he'll step back into his accepted place when this is all over, that he has to or he will suffer the consequences. Icarus has been fighting endlessly for the gods, but they don't even consider an exception or anything really. Mortals can not fly too close to the sun.
So, while Icarus has expressed otherwise, and I don't think he was lying, I do wonder if down the line, faced with the choice to follow the gods back into a prison this time he will never get to leave or soar once more in the sky he adores... which will he choose?

It has been 14 hours since I found out that, according to Kubo, Byakuya calls Renji by his given name "because Rukia does" and I am obsessed with this information.
This is both the best and worst possible answer to this question. I feel like if you asked Byakuya, this is exactly the reason he would give. However, if Rukia were present, she would lose her damn mind. While I do think Rukia's assertion that Byakuya didn't look at her even once in 40 years is hyperbole, over that time I can imagine Renji's name coming up in conversation once, maybe twice tops.
Like, two weeks before she goes on her fateful mission to the Living World, B's been shortlisting Vice-Captain candidates, and over dinner, real casual:
B: Rukia. You know your friend?
Rukia: My who now?
B: That friend of yours who shouts too much. The boorishly tall one. With the red hair. Is he in Squad Eleven now?
Rukia (wracking her brain frantically for people Byakuya would consider 'her friend'): You mean Renji?
B: Yes, him.
Rukia: What about him?
B: Is he in Squad Eleven? The Sixth Seat?
Rukia: ...maybe? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The next day, Byakuya's office, Renji shows up for his job interview.
B: You must be Renji.
Renji: uhhhhhhhh sure why not?

Does no one else find it odd that magic that had been inhibited by the Malleus Key keeps being slowly and quietly returned with seemingly no changes to the key itself? Is the Solstice still stuck or is it simply progressing very slowly? Is anyone working on this in Exandria? Can we get some answers about this?

Frankly, there should have been some sort of required explanatory paperwork and consent forms in DBIP - besides Zimmerman contacting Julian's parents, it always bothers me that everything else Julian has to do seems to just come up as they're going, and honestly, I'm not sure Julian would have agreed if he'd been given any forewarning on what it would all include.
(I mean quite honestly he's barely enthusiastic about any of it, and I kind of feel that if he hadn't felt that he *had* to given Zimmerman had already showed up on the station and launched into the "chance of a lifetime" spiel, he might well have declined even if he could have opted out of the parents thing.)
But I digress. The point is, what if Dr Zimmermann did email Julian the forms to sign off on - just, while Julian was in the Dominion Camp. And the changeling impersonator simply deleted the email (well, emails plural) because it was irrelevant.
So then you've got Zimmerman getting impatient to start his project (it's bad enough he has to model it on someone else, let alone waiting for them to even grace him with a reply) until eventually he decides oh fuck it, I'll just forge his signature to send to my superiors, it's not like he's going to refuse once I've explained in person.
And then it just... never comes up. No-one asks and he certainly doesn't feel the need to ask why Bashir had ignored him (and maybe he does overhear something about camp 371, which means he's definitely not going to bring the missing email up) and then by time anyone might have thought to question his ethics, if Julian ever did mention that he'd explicitly asked for Zimmerman to avoid his parents or what have you, the whole enhancements thing will have come out and it would probably just seem like Julian was being, idk, petty, if he ever tried to bring it up to the powers-that-be. Not that I think he would. But you know, even if a friend did try to persuade him, I can't see that approach bearing fruit.
And ugh, I'm just so angry on his behalf, because while the way it worked out was probably actually better in the long run than him keeping his secret forever/it coming out in some way where that plea deal wasn't able to be made, I'd really like Zimmerman to have faced SOME repercussions more than just, y'know, not getting with Leeta. (Not to downplay the that Rom, my hero, made to this episode of course. Thanks, Rom, for your service. You had the greatest of timings)

Imagine being modified and trained since birth to be the perfect servant to the infallible god-computer that your entire society revolves around to the point that you don’t believe in free will anymore. In fact free will as a concept is counter to your very purpose, which is to act as a living repository for unchanging information about the future. And then your perfect god shoves that highly engineered overclocked brain into the body of a heroin addict. And it’s not part of some grand plan it just destroyed your life by accident. Not even by accident, it doesn’t have the capability to commit “accidents” because it’s not sentient. It just miscalculated. It’s just a computer.
So there is this show called travelers (2016)-

[how do you feel about your individual game lately? seems like you might’ve been trending in the right direction — how do you feel like you’ve been playing recently?] yeah, i think, um … i mean, i think december’s been trending in the right way. um, definitely feeling better, feeling better. um — thirty-five games in … you wanna try to get on a roll here. and what’s exciting is we have a whole new year coming soon, so. um, yeah, i can move on and try to build off of it and get excited for the new year.  [what’s the process been like coming back from the surgery? it’s something you’ve never had to do before, right?] yeah, i mean (brief unintelligible mumble) it’s been, you know, five — i don’t know, five months since the surgery, so, it’s been a long time, but, i mean (shrugs) still, without an off-season it’s definitely (laughs) definitely — still, you still don’t feel great without an off-season, and trying to adapt, and then you’re trying to play catch-up, and then you’re trying to forget about the catching up, and try to focus on a new page, so — i’m happy that december’s been trending in the right direction, and i’ll try to turn the page going into the new year.
