2. thoughts on veganism?
Personally I’m not vegan, I tried to be once when I was a kid but was super uneducated on the topic and just made myself unhealthy 😂😅 so don’t recommend for silly little children like I was but otherwise I think it’s a beautiful thing to want to preserve the life of all animals so much so that people are willing to change their diets
On a more random note the vegan teacher on yt freaks me out. Otherwise I feel like most vegans are just normal people who want to cause no harm and that’s just lovely 🫶🏻🥹

Ok what the fuck was that?
The Wild Robot Spoilers ahead:
Soo they made the whole point of the Wild Robot movie to impose human morality on animals, I guess? The preview made it look like a robot that learns love through understanding the animals around it. But, no. It’s like a vegan friendships we make along the way moral of the story, I guess??
Everybody has to chill out for a winter to survive. Ok, fine. But then it’s we must all be friends now and live in peace and harmony because how they existed before was ‘bad’. Because being a normal fucking animal is bad. So all the meat eaters are just, what, going to die now? Because of the human version of unity, love, and whatever? Like animals don’t co-exist together and eat, and love already? They’re not bad because they eat each other sometimes or get into fights. What the actual fuck was that??
I don’t even want to get into the entire end of the plot. ‘I must go away so they stop coming because they said they’ll never stop coming, but I’ll brb soon because they’ll magically stop at some point somehow oh hey goose welcome back to where your friend got slaughtered.’
I’m going to bed.

Green Tropical Smoothie Recipe
- 2c spinach
- 1 banana
- 1.5c coconut milk
- 2 servings Great Value fixed mixed fruit (pineapples, mangos, strawberries, peaches)
- 1T flax seeds
- 1.5T natural peanut butter
Blend in a blender. It will turn out bright green, but you can’t taste the spinach at all. I very much dislike spinach, so I wouldn’t lie to you.

Does one have to be vegan to be an eco anarchist?/g
this came out really long sorry lol
not necessarily, it is usually a matter of personal philosophy.
that being said, many are, and it is impossible to ignore the realities of factory farms and industrial-agriculture-under-capitalism - even if you are not vegan, it is important to understand and fight against these things.
but there's also a lotta non-anarchist vegans that tend to miss the broader points and flock to say, products with palm oil and the like in them - products which are *also* part of a very damaging system of exploitation, even if it is not meat.
so tldr: there's no right way to be an anarchist, but it's a good thing to at the very least eat less meat, especially if it is from a factory farm - but don't stop being critical there. think about where your food comes from, and what it involves.
ask yourself: what were these animals lives like, and how were they treated?
ask yourself: who harvested your food, and what were they paid?
ask yourself: on whose land was this grown and raised, and was that land stolen?
ask yourself: was the land hurt by growing this there, in the way it was grown?
ask yourself: who owns the means of agricultural production?
and don't stop asking, even if the packaging goes on and on about how clean and good it is. companies will lie to you, will try to sell you an aesthetic of "guilt-free food".
if possible, buy local, buy from people that you know. contribute to a community garden, if you have one. participate in gift economies where they can be found.
small examples: find local fruit trees - many are planted as decoratives, but never harvested - and share the fruit with the folks around you. lotta people also keep ducks or chickens - so if you want eggs, it may be as easy as simply asking (many people aren't even completely sure what to do with all the eggs they have).
whatever you do, keep in mind that you're not gonna save the world by yourself - but small things like these can really add up, especially when you are not the only one.
and most importantly: have a nice day.
: )

i, someone who keeps kosher, am in a hotel. i ordered food. they have a bar food setup where you get 3 small plates of food to pick at and a drink for cheap. got garlic bread, vegan prawn crackers (so no shellfish), and chicken skewers.
they did not have the chicken skewers and so, without asking, they substituted them for mini pork sausages. i explained that i could not eat them due to being kosher, so the cook said she would sort me out something else.
reader, she brought me battered shrimp.

Hello, let me introduce myself.
I’m Lav. I’ve been vegan for 8 years, but I’m obese. This is due to having an ed since I was a child, and then being scared of being hungry after trying to recover. I no longer have an ed, but I do have disordered eating. I’ll go days without eating almost anything, and then I’ll have over what any adult woman needs to live for a day. I have a hard time intuitively eating, so I still track what I consume because it helps me monitor my habits.
I’m on a journey to become healthier and happier through food freedom. Even though I’ve been vegan, I haven’t been healthy. I’m always down to try the latest innovation of vegan food, and I’ll always be like that, but now I will not solely live off of barely nutritional foods.
I’ve been sedentary for a couple months due to multiple injuries that keep popping up. I am an extremely clumsy and stubborn person, so I’m usually at the doctor’s or physical therapy because I’ve either made a dumb mistake (like walking down icy stairs, falling, and hurting my shoulder) or I push myself too hard (lifting too heavy once and having back pain that flairs up every couple years).
I’ll be sharing my meals, recipes, workouts, and anything fitness related.
I will NOT talk about calories or weight.
I will reference nutritional value, but it won’t be too specific. This is a safe space for people who want to get healthier but have had an ed or disordered eating habits.
Here’s a picture of one of my cats ⬇️
