after some experimentation, i've found that "clean-shaven and hair hidden under a beanie" gets me gendered as male way more reliably than "hair loose, full moustache". no idea why long hair provokes such a strong "that's a girl" reaction, but there we go.

Decided to rewrite a very small section in chapter 2, but after that the "UI" update (more like The Update of a Million Small Fixes) will be out and I can finally be Free and focus on writing Chapter 3

Is that really the first thing they're going to say to you?

"It is, considering how the last time I saw you, you were already running a low fever."

You didn't even realize you were speaking out loud. They sigh and set the plastic bag they were holding down on your bedside table. Sitting down on your mattress, they fix a stern gaze on you. "I thought we agreed that you wouldn't shoulder things on your own anymore."

You look away to avoid their judgement. You feel your cheeks heat up even more on top of the fever. "I didn't think I'd get this sick. And I've been through worse." You can't help the pout that forms on your lips. Maybe being sick has left you with no filter to hide your true thoughts.

Their eyes soften but there's still a hint of sadness in it. "Imagine my shock when I got a text from O saying you almost passed out during a shoot," They reach out and place the back of their hand on your forehead. You lean into the cool touch instinctively. "And you're still burning up. You have to know when to take a step back. If not for yourself, then for me."

"For you?" You whisper softly.

Their heart clenches at the sight. If it's your watery eyes or the way your voice wavers with emotion, they don't know. They pull back their hand and you whine a little at the loss. "Yes, for me. After all, we're both pretty shit at taking care of ourselves for our own sake. Might as well do it to keep each other from worrying too much."

You don't reply right away. You take a deep breath, but it comes out a little watery and a little strained. You'll blame the fever for it. "Okay. I'll try to do better next time."

For the first time since they've arrived in your apartment, they smile. "That's all I ask for," They reach for the plastic bag and pull out a few things. A bottle of lemon tea, cooling patches, and cold medicine from what you've managed to see. "Is there anything you want me to get you?"

You think for a moment, trying to push through your fuzzy mind. Eventually you reach out for their hand. "Stay with me? Until I fall asleep again."

They smile again, leaning forward to kiss your warm cheek. "Of course. I'm not going anywhere, I'll be here even when you wake up."

You close your eyes and fall back on your bed, sighing with contentment. There's still so much the two of you need to work on in your budding relationship but each day is always a small step forward.

And that alone is enough.

Oh, if we’re talking about subtle hilarious SHOH moments… I always laugh at the scene during the briefing for Lockwood when Chase, Tallys, and MC are clowning Lavinet for sending such a huge cheque in the mail like “she’s SO naive lol we can cash this and she wouldn’t even be able to dispute it for weeks teeheee” and Shery is just like “…..is it naive for her to trust OFFICERS OF THE LAW not to swindle her??” and everyone just goes dead quiet.

Lol, I'd forgotten about that moment, thanks for remembering it for us! 😂😂 Sometimes the Shepherds are so chaotic that Shery--when she can forge past the excruciating experience of Being Seen--is the necessary moral compass that keeps them in check... the only one who can shame them...

Hello, I'm having a hard time visualizing the body types and when I search on google it give me a list but with different names, can you help ? I know this problem is minimal and you are free to ignore the question, hope you have a good day :) (sorry if there are spelling mistakes, english is not my native language)

oh sure! some arent drastically different from each other but i added lots of adjectives for peeps who have a specific look in mind for their character.

Slim - Basically, skinny.

Lanky - The same, but someone whose limbs are a bit too long for their body, especially if they're tall.

Lithe - Slim and elegant, kind of like a dancer.

Athletic - Just as it says; a fit body that's used to exercise and movement.

Burly - A larger body that's also athletics and strong.

Curvy - I associate it with an hourglass or pear figure. Can be any weight but I imagine someone whose bigger.

Stout - Usually associated with shorter people, being short and big.

Husky - Fat and strong, usually associated with masculine people.

Plump - Fat and round, I kinda picture apple or pear shapes for this.

Heavy - Also fat; could be with or without muscle. Generally just a big person.
