You and nika have always been close y’all first met 3 years ago y’all’s first year at uconn and have been roommates/best friends since then.

But there’s always been that unspoken tension, the looks, the touches that linger for a little longer than needed. You’re momentarily stunned. She just has a casual smirk on her face “What shade is this? it’s pretty” she asks like she didn’t just stop your train of thought for a moment. “yeah- it’s uhh..pillow talk deep from charlotte tilbury.” “always loved the color of your lips” she admits.

without thinking you smashed your lips onto hers. Your hands in her hair, her hands around your waist. You nod giving her the go ahead, she studies your expression making sure there’s no sense of hesitation or discomfort when she doesn’t find any that’s all she needed. Her fingers tease you through the thin fabric of your panties making you whine. You pull the covers over yourself as nika stirs up. She sits up too her back against the headboard. The same realization washes over her “oh shit..” she mumbled running her hands through her messy hair.

when we just shared a bed.

You sit in silence for a few moments the tension in the air thick and not the kinda tension from last night. no. this was a “wtf do I do” kinda tension. You where the first to speak “so last night was a-“ “one time thing.” she finishes. “right…is that what you want?” “it’s what’s practical. we live together we can’t just..” she sighs “we can’t what?” you egg on “we can’t let things get weird okay. i’m not gonna throw away our friendship over some drunk hookup” you scoff softly “is that all this was to you? a drunk hookup?” “yes.” “bullshit. you and I both know it was more than that. we’ve had unspoken tension for awhile now”

You watched as she leaves your bedroom. You couldn’t shake off the icky feeling she left you with. You sigh and take a shower needing to wash your worries away…and the smell of alcohol. You two spent the whole day avoiding each other which was a little hard considering y’all lived together but y’all somehow managed.

It was late at night and you where tossing and turning unable to sleep you hated this whole situation you where someone who needed to talk things out and you hated going to bed angry. Unable to sleep you slip out of bed and to the kitchen to get some melatonin. You try to reach the top shelf, Nika would normal help with these things..you climb onto the counter.

“Bebo get down your gonna hurt yourself..” nika grabs your waist steading you on the counter so you don’t fall as she grabs the melatonin bottle for you “can’t sleep?” she puts her hands on either side of the counter trapping you in. You ignore her still upset from earlier you pop the melatonin in your mouth then try to hop off the counter but she grips your waist putting you back down on the counter.

“Hey no. we’re gonna talk I don’t want you going to bed angry” “oh so now you wanna talk? about what it was a drunken mistake and we should leave it at that remember?” you quote her. “Look I was being an asshole earlier i’ll admit that” “yeah you were.” she cups your face “And you have every right to be angry..look I just don’t know how to communicate well you know this..I just shielded myself because I got scared of what last night really meant” her voice was vulnerable you rarely saw this side of nika she was pretty guarded so you know she was serious when she got vulnerable.

you smiled. not just because she was still coming but just knowing everything she okay made you feel at ease. but this feeling of gratitude didn't last long before she added, "it's cute that you worried about me."

she giggled at your teasing. every interaction you two had was just fun, this type of relationship felt so carefree...if that made sense? the both of you just kinda let go with one another.

she pointed towards your skateboard, "i thought we should make yours look actually cool? plain is totally boring."

"well you say that like yours is better? like what? are we gonna match or something?" you joked.

yunjin scratched the back of her head, slightly moving the position of her cap in the process. "well...i kinda wanted to.."

you two sat there quietly, digesting the conversation, before moving. the silence was nice. you two rarely had moments like that before but you noticed they were happening more often.

you two could be just talking and suddenly it'd get quiet. you'd look at yunjin, she'd look at you, and it was like your eyes spoke.

if looks could talk, you two would've been together by now.

"this looks like shit."

but it was true, your skateboard looked so bad. if anyone else had done this to it, you would've freaked out. but it was yunjin.

she insisted on continuing although it was basically ass, so you two continued. after about twenty minutes she finished (you tapped out around the ten minute mark and opted to lie in the grass instead).

"all it has to do is dry now." she stated, walking to lie next to you.

the sky looked so pretty at that moment. the stars covered everywhere your eyes could see, and the moon, the moon shone as brightly as ever.

but something else was prettier in your opinion. you turned your head and met the eyes of yunjin, who was staring at you with the softest expression. to her, you were perfect like this.

"yunjin, you're staring."

she sighed, letting out the softest, "i know."

you two were doing the thing again. staring that led to nothing else, unfortunately. yunjin might've realized that too, because she turned her head back to the night sky.

it fell silent. a comfortable silence.

but this isn't what you wanted. something came over you, and it was urging you to just confess. you really like yunjin. that's a fact.

you inhaled quietly before turning back to face her, it's now or never. well not literally but this is the perfect time.

she felt your eyes shift and turned to look at you.

Why of course :)

Despite what he might tell you, his immune system is absolute sh*t and he gets sick a lot, though he usually works it off and there’s a 50/50 chance as to whether it gets better or worse.

^sorta related to the hc above: heat exhaustion. Yeah. He’s suffered from it on more than one occasion yet he still works outside when it’s boiling hot for WAY too long.

^oh yeah he also has asthma but refuses to use his inhaler cuz he’s afraid of being seen as week. Same goes for his iron supplements and meds that his therapist gave him.

If he gets into a serious fight that’s going too far, either the person he’s fighting has to give up, or someone has to separate them. There’s no other way for it to end. Texas is going to fight till his very last breath, and would rather die than accept defeat.

(this is sorta happy but also sad-ish) whenever Texas is missing his mom, who’s name was Maria, he’ll go sit down on the beach and just stare out onto the ocean for hours since it reminds him of her (not to mention, the name "Maria" means "of the sea"). He also named his chihuahua Maria, after his mother.

He hates that he has to listen to what his government tells him to do, but if he doesn’t, his handlers will hurt them. One of the worst parts is, is that Texas thinks that they’re allowed to do this. The State Handlers are NOT, under ANY circumstances, allowed to harm the states. Texas doesn’t know this. Even if he did, he’s too scared to tell anyone.
