Is this your first Interactive Fiction? Have you done any other works (like games, IFs, fiction etc.)?

This is the first IF I've actually published, but I have drafts for others, including one I did start working on before putting it on the back burner for Redo; Rewind.

That being said, I've been writing fiction for years. No published works though. I have some social anxiety so I never worked up the nerve before. They just sit in my Google drive or fill up my notebooks lol.

Hope your dip perishes soon (for you know, the sake of feeling good rather than productivity, life is too short to let productivity be the #1 priority all the time, though I do find it very admirable how well you keep yourself organized)! You talking about it honestly made me think of V just kind of like, stretching out their wrists and putting on reading glasses in a very much, employee down, kind of way. Crafts the most professionally biting email to the rest of their cast that when you come back from break they all better be exactly where they’re supposed to be, doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing.

Thank you so much for the kind words!! You're absolutely right, productivity is all well and good but your health should come first. (Admittedly, that's a lesson that took me a while to learn haha.)

I'm very excited to start on the next part, but I do foresee it taking me some time to finish since there's going to be a (potential) time loop MC can get stuck in. Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I've been making good headway on the Avoid/Confront path, my goal is to have it finished, or close to it, by the end of next week.

Once that's done, we get into the real meat of the chapter. And, oh boy, am I excited for what's to come. Might be my favorite part of the story thus far. 😉

Honestly, I can’t stop thinking of past V judging present V for getting with mc.

The “you didn’t, they’re our employee” and following flustered V was delicious.

I’m also laughing because I 1000% am having my mc seduce the pants off of V, and I could just imagine V being like, “I was seduced!” And past V being even more disappointed/shocked because power dynamic wise they do have the upper hand and why does this sound like an excuse?

Only for past V to eventually come up against said seduction to just be like:

“Shit”

Oh yeah, for sure. The moment V realizes their feelings for MC is going to be *chef's kiss* *:･ﾟ✧a disaster*:･ﾟ✧. "Shit" is about right lol.

The start of V's romance is basically them speedrunning the 7 stages of grief just to come to terms with the fact that, yeah, they might be a little in love with their employee. Whoops.

How is MC saved in the ROs' contacts before and after?

I'm assuming you mean before and after they enter a relationship right? For August, let's say the "before" is after they've stopped trying to kill you lol.

V: Before: MC's full name, first and last. After: Changed to just their first name. Nothing else. V finds using pet names or emojis in their contacts as unprofessional and unnecessary.

Amara: Before: MC's first name, with "(from work)" after it. After: Something cheesy like "Honey🥰💕💋🌹💖". Would probably switch the pet names/emojis regularly.

August: Before: MC's first name followed by: 🔫 After: "Sunshine" Need I say more?

Bonus: August does in fact already have MC's number before they meet (it was part of the info he got on MC for the hit). He had their number saved as: "8/31 💀👻"

Hey! How would ROs who are in a relationship with MC react when they come across their versions before they were with MC? My fanfic is that MC's powers broke the time line but imagine the conversation XD

Lmao, I imagine all parties involved would be really fucking confused. Probably wondering if they had a gas leak lol.

But if they got past their initial feeling of wtf... Well, I'll put some short convos below the cut. 😉 (I used "F!" to indicate which is the future version fyi.)

F!V: "Most likely. I suppose we should consider it an opportunity. The future..." They shake their head. "I shouldn't tell you much but, (MC)... keep a close eye on them. They'll need your support more than you could ever know."

The softness in their voice must betray the depth of their feelings, given how their past iteration's eyes widen in shock.

V: "...You didn't." They say flatly, judgement heavy in their tone. "They're our employee!"

F!V: "I fear I have no idea what you're talking about." They reply, a light blush coloring their cheeks. "Moving on..."

Amara: "This is so fucking weird." She says standing in what is both undeniably her living room and yet, not.

F!Amara: "I know right, I was just waking up in bed with (MC), and then, poof, here you are. So, so, weird."

Amara: Looks thoughtful for a moment, before a teasing smile brightens her face. "(MC)? Oooh? Is that where our relationship's headed? Nice. But, as much as I wanna ask more, guess we should probably focus on whatever the hell's goin' on here first, huh?"

F!Amara: "Probably. Unless..." She trails off with a conspiratorial smile.

Amara: Sighs dramatically. "Okay, fine. You've won. Go on then, tell me everything. And don't leave out a single detail."

F!August: "Oh come on, aren't you the least bit curious to know what happens? How things play out with—"

August: "Fine." He interrupts bluntly. "I'll bite. Not that I can see many ways you could surprise me. How'd the job with (MC) go?"

F!August: "Well, they aren't dead. That's for sure." He says with a low chuckle. "Really, I'd advise you rethink your current plans around them altogether. It won't go how you think. No, what you'll find is something much better."

August: Looking mildly perturbed. "...I really need to stop sleeping with my targets, don't I?"

I'm pretty sure that would be kidnapping, assuming MC doesn't go through the legal process of adoption lmfao. But sure, why not?

Got a little long, so under the cut it goes!

V: "That. Is a child. Why do you have a child? Please tell me you're just babysitting." V looks a mixture of bewildered and concerned, arms crossed tightly over their chest.

MC: "Surprise? We're parents now! This little one doesn't have any of their own, so..."

V: "...And you somehow managed to go through the adoption process in one day?"

MC: "..."

V: "..."

MC: "Oops?"

V: Heaves a long-suffering sigh. "Fine. Just—let me make some phone calls."

Amara: "Aww, and who's this little cutie pie?" Amara says with a smile, cooing over the small child, and very tempted to poke their chubby cheeks.

MC: "Well, you see..." You proceed to explain how exactly you came into possession of a child.

Amara: Gasps. "Oh my God! We're parents now? Gotta admit, not how I expected this to happen, but, we can make this work. Hm, I'll need to move my lab somewhere else for the kid's room and then..."

Amara proceeds to wander off, lost in her own thoughts. Used to this, you and the child trail behind her.

Well, that went better than you expected it to.

MC: "Hey now," you say, covering the little one's ears, "watch your mouth August! You can't be cussing around our child!"

August: "...Our child?" He looks like someone poured a bucket of ice water over his head, staring intently at the child in your arms. "What? Did you just grab a random orphan off the side of the road or something?"

MC: "...Maybe."

August: "...You're kidding."

MC: Smiles nervously. "Haha, well. You see..."

August: Standing with his head in his hands. "You are so lucky that I love you."
