Vampire Knight Rewritten Tiiimeliiine baybeeee!!

1100:

Kaname is born in what will later be England.

1120:

Kaname is bitten and after committing a massacre of people, escapes to a ship and tries to sleep forever.

1637:

Kaname wakes up in Japan, eats the people who find him, walks into the sun to try and die. It does not work.

1643:

Kaname meets the “Hooded Lady”, Tani Kuran, a fellow vampire who wears a Japanese wedding dress half the time. She gives Kaname the name Kaname since Kaname forgot his original name (Cain I.) and he takes her surname, Kuran. They fall in love (very weird codependent love) and have a son named Christopher/“Krist” (he’s dead).

1646

After the Hooded Lady attempts to kill the current vampires in charge to stop infecting Japan and influenced Kaname to join. While Kaname is fighting with the leader, Tani steps in between the two to protect him. This allows Kaname to kill his opponent but, in doing so, he unintentionally impales Tani also. Tani tells him she might’ve done this on purpose.

Kaname burns the rest of the current council down but decides to seize control in their place before leaving Japan, thus leaving Vampires having no power there.

Though this is throughout time nearly all of Kaname’s descendants inbreed and die, except for Juri and Rido.

1761:

The dhampir and future revered vampire hunter Kaien Cross is born in a British colony (he’s Irish).

1779:

Kaien throws a rock at Kaname’s head in anger at the bourgeoise. This causes the two to meet.

2002:

Yuki Cross/Kuran is born.

2003:

Zero Kiryu is born.

2004:

Ichiru Kiryu is born.

2005:

Emi Yagari is born.

2007:

Juri Kuran-Tomita, Kazuya Tomita (Juri’s husband and Yuki’s father), and Rido Kuran are killed. Yuki is turned into an amnesiac pseudo-human and taken in by Kaname before being given to and adopted by Kaien.

2014:

Toga Yagari (33 years old) mercy kills his wife Babette after she’s bitten and turned, she begs him to kill her before she goes berserk.

Emi is nine when her father comes home and frustratedly says her mother isn’t ever coming back because she is dead.

Toga would later lose his left eye a few months later.

2015:

Ichiru is bitten and conceals this using illusions.

Zero and Ichiru’s parents are killed in an orchestrated killing by Ichiru and Shizuka Hio. Zero is bitten. They are taken in by Kaien after Kaien saves them from dying and kills Shizuka.

2021:

Part one begins.

Late 2021:

Ichiru Kiryuu kills Kaien Cross. Vampires are exposed to humanity.

Zero gives up half his humanity to evade execution with the help of Kaname.

2022:

Society collapses. The world goes to shit after vampires are revealed, The Council only does stuff that will get them more power. America and Russia nuke each other, Japan closes itself off, groups of humans live in underground colonies, the sky is permanently grey so vampires aren’t affected by the sun. The Japanese military splits off and joins either the Hunters or the Catholic faction known as the Templars.

Zero fights Kaito Takamiya and leaves Kaito behind with a magazine of silvers. (A Light Novel I planned)

2023:

Part 2 begins.

Zero saves Emi from a club in which she is a sacrifice. Though Emi kills the other half of the club.

Zero, Emi Yagari, Toga Yagari, Kaname Kuran, Hanabusa Aido, Ruka + Akatsuki Souen, and the hunter army kill the council and dismantle the council’s reign.

Zero and Ichiru fight each other while Kaname kills any remaining councilmen. Ichiru dies. Immediately after, Zero is speared by Yuki and Kaname sees Zero’s body before killing Yuki, his final descendant, in vengeance.

Kaname blows up Cross Academy, and he almost dies. Albeit Kaname is given Yuki’s heart so he is comatose.

Emi Yagari resurrects Zero Kiryu with help of Toga Yagari by getting his metabolic processes back on with magic, which takes weeks.

A day or a few hours after Emi Yagari resurrects Zero with help from her father, The Templars nearly kill her for this as this would make her equal to or above God/Jesus. Aido quickly diverts their attention to “other pressing matters”.

Kaname wakes a week later without his memory.

Yuki Cross is dead. Ichiru Kiryu is dead.

2024

Part 3/Post-Series

5 months after, Zero wakes up.

Emi has become Cross Academy’s headmistress, though she’s more of a “Mockingjay” situation.

Cross Academy is rebuilding.

Kaname Kuran’s memories are brought back by Zero Kiryu.

Kaname attempts to starve himself for a week out of just wanting his life over. Zero finds him.

Kaname and Zero get together after a whole deal of Kaname being pissed off zero brought him back but then Zero isn’t taking his shit and then they have say gex in the abandoned apartment and dam now they are boyfriends and the series goes on as weird slices of life.

2040

Emi has her son Mei. The father is unknown.

2046

Kaname and Zero get married.

The handful of remaining heroes were scattered. They'd ignored all of the warnings, believed the worst kind of people and the League wasn't prepared for Pariah's reawakening to empower the moonlit world. No one was prepared for it, not when the monsters were already deep within the League pulling the strings from within and... This was… Without any warning Bart collapses, the nth metal bracelet he's always kept wrapped around his wrist sending a cold chill through his body as the familiar touch of Danny's magic engulfed the area.

"It's okay." Danny catches him before he can hit the floor, pulling him into one last bone crushing hug to hide his own tears. "It's not over for you. Clockwork... Clockwork promised everything would work out if I did this... He guaranteed it and he rarely gives me a straight answer so... So we'll... I guess we'll see each other again. You and me. The team. Heck, even the Justice League. You've got a whole new life ahead of you and..."

'I'm sorry if I'm not a part of it.' Is left unsaid as Danny keeps talking, nearly tripping over his words.

"And even if I'm not the same person anymore a part of me will always be there to watch you run." The bracelet glows softly with his promises, the runes that had protected him for years binding them together with his words and then Danny was shoving him back leaving Bart less than a fraction of a second to try and reach out for him before his entire world is swallowed by shadows and he's falling.

Bart Allen would live.

He'd have as many second chances as Danny could spare since Earth 63 was lost.

The moonlit world had decimated it, turning friends and family against each other but even now the Infinity Realms rumbled a challenging call. Their herald was gone for now but the king would fight, and continue fighting to the bitter end while Bart... Bart would... He'd...

"Time out."

Staring down at the young herald Clockwork smiled a little half smile as the ripple effects of their actions were already taking effect.

It might be a little different then he'd intended and he'd certainly bent a few rules in order to ensure his preferred outcome but the Ancient of Time was confident things would work out for the better.

"Now let's see if we can get it right this time."

It's nothing much but a part of an idea I had for Bart and Danny trying to survive/fix the DC vs. Vampire universe.

Danny's trying.

Bart keeps trying to reset everything but it isn't working. He changes a few things but nowhere near enough to stop what's going to happen until Clockwork finally steps in with a playbook that might work.

I don't know what it is with me always imagining the two of them traveling around apocalyptic worlds but Danny is Danny so he can't be turned into a vampire while Bart is his herald, he's essentially Danny's Fright Knight with an anti magic nth metal bracelet and a whole lot of blessings so he doesn't end up like the rest of his family.

omg thank u for the ask i would love to talk about them.... that's my baby and i love him. recently i have been like. writing a lot for other characters? but i always abandon those works and go back to him literally three out of four of those snippets are his. unfortunately fixated on him at eighteen years old and have not been able to un-fixate.

i answered an ask from willow about one snippet so i can talk about the other two? the first is. man. i don't know when this will ever get published i have been working on it for years now. but it's like. reader is a princess of a kingdom that's like. in decline and whatever prince marries her gets the land of her kingdom when her father dies and kirishima is the prince of the kingdom to the east and makes the best offer for her hand in marriage. and bakugou is the commander of all of his knights/kiri's adopted brother. and the second you leave your kingdom everything goes to shit, obviously, and you end up having to really trust these people even though they've taken your home from you. really it's my excuse to practice prose but also it's my excuse to write another novel-length enemies to lovers fic featuring bakugou because. that is my life's calling i think LDKFSJFLKDJSFL

There are so many things you want to do. You want to say goodbye to your mother and her grave flowers. You want Yui to twist your hair up into one of those delicate hairstyles she’s mastered, fingers grazing your scalp like a moth yearning at a warm window. You want to be ten and invincible, digging up worms in the castle courtyard to watch them squirm. It amazed you that a life could be so little. That you and the creature in your hands, without a face, without limbs, without the understanding of anything but dirt and air and rot, were experiencing what it meant to exist.

How can you communicate this to the man whose presence alone kills any hope of fulfilling these wishes? An easy answer—you can’t, and you never will. You tell him no, you want for nothing, and he leads you to your horse as if he believes you. Perhaps he does.

THE OTHER SNIPPET IS DSFLKJSLDKFJSDKLJ OKAY. okay. the show true blood came out in 2008 and changed my life. i ADORE that show with a passion and i just rewatched it recently. and essentially. you the reader are sookie stackhouse, a telepath that lives in rural louisiana, and your (soon to be ex-) boyfriend, the vampire shinsou hitoshi, has been kidnapped. so you have to enlist the help of a werewolf in jackson, mississippi to help you find him. and that werewolf is bakugou katsuki, still (slightly) hung up over his ex and entirely unhappy to be involved and helping you. it's essentially season three of the show just rewritten to fit my purposes. and also i read ALL of the books that the show was based on so there's like a little book lore in there. extremely self-indulgent i'm afraid.

Despite how much you used to hate knowing what people thought about you, sometimes—and you won’t lie, it’s because you’re nosy—you’ll do a preliminary poke at a person’s thoughts to see if there’s anything that their brain is yelling about you. This has helped you in a few situations where people have come to your place with intentions to hurt and/or kidnap you, so you figure it’s not the worst thing in the world to keep doing.

What you see inside Bakugou’s head is nothing like what you thought you’d see. His thoughts are a blur of color and emotion and intention. You get the concept of what he’s thinking more than anything defined. Shapes instead of words. It’s disorienting, as if being exposed to this chaos is causing your own thoughts to lose their definition.

“I thought Hawks was full of shit,” Bakugou says, “but you’re reading my mind right now, aren’t you?”

“Of course I’m not,” you scramble, not even convincing yourself with that answer. “I just, uh—”

“Don’t lie to me.”

these will hopefully. be done at a point in time in the future. but they are spiraling into very long territory like 50k+ words ldsflkfdjlk because. as this post is a perfect example of. i am the most longwinded person on the planet. HINO : Zero , Yuki and Kaname

YUKI: Without Yuki , I wouldn't have been able to start this story. She's a precious girl. When Kaname faced Yuki when she was born, he was so profoundly moved and felt such tenderness towards her that he thought every cell in his body had been rewritten. As for Zero , I think he spent his youth in darkness, filled with nothing but hatred and despair when he hadn't yet met Yuki . Yuki's worries are multi-layered and intense. There are people she wants to cherish. But she is inexperienced and helpless. Yet she is mercilessly forced to make a choice. The feelings she cannot pronounce are abundant. As a result, Kaname had to carry most of the burden, I put you through deep anguish in my opinion. I'm sorry. You joked about it in a Drama CD, but I really have to wonder if you haven't developed baldness with all the stress.

Kaname: You are a cornerstone of the story, but you ended up dealing the main blow of the various drawbacks, starting with my weakness as an author. I'm sorry, Kaname . If only I could go back to that episode… It’s always on my mind. When I think of this person, various thoughts and memories come to mind; I am filled with a feeling of helplessness at not knowing how I should have represented him and it pains me. I feel that...readers who were fans of his probably feel similar feelings.

Zero: Him, whose hair is always affectionately chewed by White Lily , or grabbed by the children he saves when he puts them on his shoulder. The stress he carries is at the highest level in the world of Vampire Knight . I wouldn't be surprised if he developed a bald spot on his head. While he is extremely delicate and vulnerable, he is a strong and reliable person who can be valiant when he has found a resolution. Even in the face of adversity, you tried to remain a kind person and suffered infinitely because of it - you are a person I respect.

Afterword

I would like to express my gratitude again now by writing an afterword in this way after the series has already ended. It's been two years and several months since the series ended. Since that, the series has received special chapters, a stage adaptation, bunko editions, and I've been given plenty of opportunities to sincerely reflect on Vampire Knight .

I thought about how I realized how much I enjoyed drawing Vampire Knight . I myself am amazed by this devotion. I had a lot of regrets during its serial publication and also after its conclusion..."If only I had done such and such, then... Why didn't I believe in myself, have more perseverance and more wisdom at the time?" I am tortured by these regrets. But my love for the series would not allow me to lose hope.

I ardently poured my heart into the finale, right up until the last panel. And fortunately, I was able to assess that my readers understood this, thank you to many for their warm and thoughtful words. I would like to thank them for following Vampire Knight . Thank you for being there in the happy and sad times.

Maybe because there are more special chapters planned, or because deep inside, Vampire Knight is still far from the end and continues to linger in me, I'm pumped up once again. That's why I would be grateful if you follow me a little longer in the world of this story.

Hi, I hope you are doing well! I recently read a piece of lore that described how to destroy a lich Ras Frostwhisper, and this meant returning mortality to him. Perhaps you know this chain of quests, but if not, it was necessary to find a memorable object associated with the life of the undead, a kind of anchor, fill it with power, at the place where a person died and a lich was born, and use it on it. This process somehow gave the soul the right connection with the body, and the lich became a man. It struck me that this is possible. My questions to you are, do you think this is possible for dk? Is the vampiric blade of the death knight a kind of phylactery for the defiled soul? If Darion had known that such a thing was possible, would he have tried? Do you, as a writer, find this idea interesting, or does it break the character development of the dk and his concept? Sorry for the bunch of text, but I was very interested in this topic

This is an interesting ask and I had to think about how to reply to it.

I am sure some fanfics touched on that and allowed death knights to be mortal again but this is a topic I solved years back when I was trying to figure out if it would be possible at all. Because I am not used to twist lore after I realize I want something and it's not possible with canon.

First of all, Raz was a lich and did not have a phylactery which was fubar on its own. Liches store their souls in their phylacteries, when they are killed, they return into it and they can regenerate. Since it was in Vanilla, I am sure the Scourge was more strict and tried to avoid such incidents later on.

Second of all, the Scourge was more built on in WotLK about how they work and some of things were rewritten as impossible. I remember there were some things from RPG books which were used in-game but later on were confirmed as non-canon but could be still used for RP purposes, such as living death knights. That was a thing before Blizzard said and shown how exactly death knights are made and how they work in WotLK. I am still sure there could be some living death knights before, but more like corrupted paladins who joined the Scourge willingly, and were in the middle of a trial if they can become true death knights. Because being alive has limitations for their magic and they would be weaker this way which is not something they wanted.

Death knights work differently than liches. Their runeblades are not phylactery, they are their extended hand and vessel for a runic magic. They are not powerless without it but they feel weaker and uncomfortable when not carrying it.

They were killed and their souls are tied to their physical bodies. Liches were transformed into something else and their soul is stored in a phylactery. And thinking of Raz... I can't help but thinking it doesn't make sense and it was done during time when only lich with proper lore was Kel'Thuzad and Blizzard was still not sure how to approach this topic. Sure it's a fantasy world, but even fantasy world has a rules and I am afraid this one is obsolete after WotLK.

From what was shown in WotLK, there is no way how to reverse the undead. When somebody was infected by the plague, the only way was to ask Naaru to take their soul before they die and turn into the undead. Death knights barely gained free will back thanks to the Light intervention. They are dead already and they were raised by a powerful runic magic which soaked into their bodies (and my headcanon is that they have runes engraved into their flesh too). I am pretty sure the Scourge made sure that even if there would be a way like with Raz, they would get past some "security measures".

Another topic is: we do ressurection in-game all the time. Lorewise? Incredibly hard and very rare (yes even though Blizzard is bringing characters back all the time). The Blood of Our Fathers and Before the Storm. That was it. Maybe there were some other examples I do not remember now. Bringing somebody to life is extremely rare even for somebody like Velen, Faol, Anduin, etc.

And then... the psychology of it. Majority of DKs lost everything. Their home, their families (sometimes they were the ones who killed them), their friends, everything. They have nothing. Only each other. According to lore, death knights can feel emotions, but the bad ones are much stronger and the good ones are very rare and subtle. They are still managing somehow though. But imagine people who went through such mental manipulation and abuse, trauma, death, despair and such, to get physical bodies. With brain producing hormones again such as cortisol the stress hormone. With need to sleep, eat, dring, etc. I dare to say they would be so highly depressed and would hit them as a train that they would not even enjoy the life, they would be incredible miserable after all that happened. Plus their power would probably go away which makes them strong and such people don't have a workflow for peace.

Right now they at least have each other and are powerful enough to protect something they care about and can prove the world they are still needed and useful.

So if there would be a way, Darion would already find it. But I am not sure if he wanted to use it. He is the most powerful death knight on Azeroth and he uses his power to protect the Ebon Blade. Being mortal again, he would lose such power. And only reason he is still coping with his fate is that he can take care of others with the same fate.

I still have to write the story about sir Zeliek but many years ago when I wrote the first version (I am not happy with) I touched that topic and he stated that after all that happened, he wouldn't want to be alive, because there is nothing good in the world that awaits him, he lost everything and everybody.

But we've touched the topic if death knights can at least get their senses back, even if not fully and permanently. It's still a long way to it in Of Lucid Dreams and Nightmares but it was touched and explored. Because there is a way based on official and confirmed lore.

Sorry for tl;dr! Years of working with death knights.

Still if somebody wants to write a fanfic where it's possible, go for it. But I used to not making anything easy for characters I work with. If something is way too easy, it's no longer fun for me. Because life is not easy.

LLMs Lack Context

So there's an obvious reason that certain producers think "AI" - specifically Large Language Models - can replace writers. The LLMs lack the same skill those producers lack.

See, these are the same people who mindlessly parrot one aspect of a movie that did really well. A high school setting with a rebellious youth meeting a vampire. That's what the kids like these days, right?

But then they'll fail to do one of the two necessary things:

Option one, remix the story to make sure the same context surrounds the element you're dealing with. Perhaps it's a private Catholic school, so having the vampires represent the deadly allure of sexuality much like the Bram Stoker original did still works okay.

Option two, remix the element enough that it fits your story. Maybe your vampire sparkles. Maybe the vampire doesn't age mentally so they really are a peer with the high schooler and subject to peer pressure from the protagonist. There's all kinds of crazy stuff you can do.

Fail to do either of these things - or do them badly enough - and your story cohesion suffers. Viewers or readers are constantly going, "but wait, why did they-" about almost everything, for the whole show.

So we've got five options:

The context matches the elements necessary to keep the parts of the creature's actual story value intact as it migrates to your story.

The creature is rewritten to be something else, fit to serve its story role rather than the story of its original context. Smart writers will recognize if they drift too far afield of a known monster and just call it something else. Even naming your undead creature a "ghoul" instead of a "zombie" can be enough to let the audience know not to make a bunch of assumptions revolving around established zombie norms, right?

The creature just shows up. Dracula's at your elementary school (I feel like I read this R.L. Stine book). Maybe these kids aren't actually sexually active yet, at which point he's just a murderer who dresses weird. In essence there are two problems here; First that you're wasting a cool monster by putting it somewhere that makes no sense, and second that you're confusing your narrative by accidentally introducing themes (via the symbolism people attach to the creature) that go nowhere.

Option 1 Gone Wrong. Maybe the way you try to bring the context of Bram Stoker's original novel is nonsense. Maybe you try to include the weird intentionally-bad writing of Van Helsing, or the Bloofer Lady bit.

Option 2 Gone Wrong. This is often just the inverse of Renaming Syndrome, where you as a fantasy author can't just call a sword a sword. It must be a Kartesh, the weapons used by the honorable Nul-Tasi who are armored warriors that serve the Baben, a ruler whose right to rule is assumed to be given by god...but Nul-Tasi are totally not knights wielding swords for the king. Shh. Refuse to just call the creature something new after you change practically everything about it, and you're like, "Yeah, it's a vampire. Goes out in the day, drinks chocolate milk, loves holy places, uses fire magic to kill its victims. Sometimes grows a lizard head. Vampire."

If they don't outright plagiarize, LLMs almost always fall into one of the latter 3 options here. They don't have a sense of context, so when putting together words to form a story they don't include context. ingo & dawn arrive 15 minutes late with potato mochi : 3 part series detailing the return of Dawn and Ingo, with an accompanying laugh track

undead tracks : 2 part series. An incredibly short ghost!Akari and vampire!twins au

the only sign : oneshot. The only sign anything had happened was the clatter of a chair hitting the floor

PLA but dawn has a litwick : oneshot. au where everything is the same, but Dawn gets sent back with a Litwick as well, and causes some heart attacks along the way

blessed champion : oneshot. Yes, Dawn was strange. But she was their Champion and savior, and Sinnoh protects its own with a fierce love rivaling that of a mother Bewear. It only makes sense for those oddities to follow her into the past, where they were arguably needed most.

earth-shaking menace : oneshot. Akari recreates (discovers?) Earthquake. Rei wonders if its too late to change his name and flee the region.

space's burden : oneshot. Arceus and Giratina have plans. Dialga is acting strange. Palkia’s stuck in the middle, trying to keep everything from falling apart.

hilda gets trolled : oneshot. Hilda keeps running into this girl, and every time she forgets to ask her name. Yet she can't shake the feeling that she's seen her before... Meanwhile, Dawn is on vacation and traveling to Nimbasa City.

once more, rewritten and to the side : 25/25. A rewrite of "once more, a bit to the left". Dawn fails in the final fight against Volo, and is sent back to fix it... again (thanks, Arceus). This is how she deals with it all, and accidentally (read: purposefully) terrifies everyone in the process.

Kirby:

sparkling stars : oneshot. On a day like any other in Dreamland, Kirby looked up. This wasn’t really remarkable. What was unusual was the lack of anything to look at. The sky was a clear blue with not a cloud in sight. No leaves or petals or butterflies flew about with the wind. The sun shined as it always did - just in the opposite direction of where he was looking. He took a few steps back, blinking like he was making sure something was there. Then he smiled, and turned to run back to his home.

A very long time ago, their names were Kirby and Meta Knight. Or: an au in which, due to space-time shenanigans, Kirby and Meta end up in the past and become Galacta and Morpho.

Gaining powers granted by Galactic NOVA, dying, bringing yourself back to life with the clockwork star's broken pieces out of sheer force of will, dying again, and being resurrected again has... interesting effects on Marx's body's sense of time. But even though it hurts, it's somewhat alright. Because Magolor will always be there to guide him back to the present.

Devil May Cry:

brought together by needle and thread : oneshot. It would make Dante happy if he agreed, and he could keep the props afterwards as a memento. The only problem is that he would be seen wearing the outfit in public. The logical thing to do, Vergil decides, is to draw Yamato and stab himself.
