Hood/cloak arrived today so I got to do a test fitting of my deathknight cosplay pieces so far. My wife didn't like me saying "thank you squire" every time she helped me into a piece of armour. 😶 My next piece is a partially built chest plate with blue LED runes across the bevor which I'll follow up with some glowy skull boots. 🙂

I have made a Darion Mograine bot.

I tried to keep the bot accurate but I was not too sure how many information were gathered by AI. I thought about not to input any context of Shadowlands into the bot, but the conversation between the Mograines were quite endearing.

Dhallea 'Dolly' Reddingston

Another rerun (in the sense that it's additional art of a character I already have, lol), this is an AU version of Dolly who, rather than surviving her time in the Gilneas Brigade, was killed during the fighting on the Broken Shore, losing her eyes to a Demon's blade and being raised by the Ebon Blade in their 'recruitment drive' during the DK Class Hall story. Now a Fourth-generation Death Knight, she left the Blade after the Legion war ended to rejoin the Alliance, following the example of members like Thassarian and reflecting her own internalised biases against undead.

Originally Gilnean nobility whose family were killed in the Forsaken invasion, Dolly harboured a grudge against the undead for most of her life--something that didn't disappear even when she herself was killed and raised. Blinded by the Demon that killed her, she had to relearn how to fight to be of any use to the Ebon Blade or the Alliance, becoming proficient with her runeblade--a more slender design than most.

Ironically, given the later point of divergence being during the war with the Legion, Dolly isn't a Worgen like her "prime" counterpart; she was bitten in Duskwood after she 'retired' to become a mercenary, originally, and suffered no such fate here. Small mercies, I suppose xD

I decided to make Ebon Blade hard enamel pins because nobody did yet and Blizzard will probably never do.

The sword is the pin. The design behind is the backing card.

Started making the tier 3 dreadnaught boots for my deathknight. Alot of shaping and clean up to do to get them smooth, tidy and as symmetrical as possible. 🫠

Had the idea the other day for what I'm thinking of, in NPC terms, as "Forsaken Liberators." Forsaken spell-casters who capture Scourge undead to try and free their minds, either to grow their ranks or just because they believe it's right. Makes sense, and the Shadow Vault quests show it works for the Ebon Blade. Plus, the Val'kyr are gone now, they need other options.

Day 2- Power/Cage

Sometimes I think back to when I had first awakened after dying from that explosion in Tanaris. Was it an accident? Who had killed me? Thoughts were racing through my mind until I had felt something freeze my mind like an icy cold hand gripping my mind and giving me commands. Commands that I didn’t want to do, but I had to. Otherwise I was going to be killed and fed to the ghouls. Arthas’ voice had rang through my head, stunning me in my tracks once or twice. But I had to obey, I had to comply. The power that the Death Knights of Acherus wielded was like nothing I had ever witnessed. Freezing strikes of frost, boiling blood out of enemies, and afflicting Scarlets with diseases. The screams were music to my ears. The orders were like a cage I could never get out of.

It wasn’t until the battle for Light’s Hope that I realized the Death Knights were just pawns in a much larger scheme for the Lich King. Some were free from his will at Light’s Hope. Others were free at Icecrown when Arthas died. Some death knights saw no purpose to continue fighting and killed themselves. Bolvar had been encased in ice once the helm was placed upon his head.

But me? I continue fighting enemies. I interrogate those that need interrogating even if they’re through “torturous methods”. I help people for the good of the Horde and the Ebon Blade, even though I am still considered an outcast. But there are ways to cope with the Endless Hunger that I feel. Friendship, companions, and entertainment seem like a good choice. I just worry about becoming a murderous maniac in front of them if I do… slip. Would anyone stop me? Would anyone talk some sense into me? I worry that I will suffer alone because of this power, this affliction and addiction.

As far as I'm concerned Tess/Lorna is canon but like, idk if "lady werewolf" and "her princess who is not werewolf" is sufficiently kottkrig-ish.

Anya/Lyana, maybe? Calia/Lilian is obvious but also bleccch in vibe. Maybe Forsaken/Ebonblade crossovers?

Lady Alistra and Duchess Mynx are basically ripe for the whole "take an only-very-slightly established lore character and make an entire Blorbo out them" thing, honestly. Or like, it's notable that a bunch of the Ebon Blade seem to specifically be nobility, whether high elven or Lordaeronian or whatever, so contrasting that with the various Dark Rangers and Deathstalkers, who at least seem to be more plebian, could be really interesting. Again, it's kind of "take an NPC name, appearance, and like two minutes of action in a quest somewhere and create hot blorbo-on-blorbo action", but.
