I will take this as an opportunity to give y’all some eye facts about the predecessors :)

- Qorbyn gets her eye color not just from Ozpin but also from Merle!

- Qrow’s eyes are slightly lighter than Qormac’s because of Merle’s genes, his eye shape also looks more like Merle’s :D

- Alloy’s eyes are a more silvery color because of his overuse of his silver eyes, also hence the scars around his eyes.

- I always imagined that Silver eyes come in different shades, but have a few distinct features that help so you can tell if they’re silver and not just grey, for instance, the two little marks both of them have on the right side of their irises (this is actually canon to rwby!) and the fact that their eyes appearance metallic when light hits them.

- Summer and Ruby get their darker shade of silver from Valentina

- Red eyes are a dominant gene in the Branwen family, Hence Jackdaw, Qormac, Qrow and Raven, and Olivia all having red eyes.

- Silver and Golden eyes are recessive genes. Because of this, both of Ozpin’s parents don’t have golden eyes, while he and his grandfather do.

- Alloy sight gets progressively worse the more he overuses his silver eyes. At the time of the Young Leaders AU he’s mildly nearsighted and light sensitive. By the time of the Remnant Heirs AU his nearsightedness and light sensitivity are worse, thus requiring him to wear sunglasses in buildings with fluorescent lights or outside on sunny days, unless he wants to be left with a headache.

- Branwen eyes glow when they’re mad/emotional and also glow in the dark :)

- Ozpin’s eyes also glow in the dark but that’s because of magic stuff

Y/N was stuck in her office for hours lately.  Bucky was usually in on those meetings, but she’d been sending him out to deal with making sure that loyalties among the lower level “employees” who didn’t know about her were still strong and people were doing as they were told.  Being the mob boss queen meant she demanded respect and fierce loyalty from all she worked with, and in exchange she took care of them.  Everyone on her payroll and their families would be set for life if they just followed the rules: don’t get caught, and if you do, you know nothing.  You might not make it out of prison, but you would be protected while inside, and your family and affairs would be taken care of until you got back.  

With the amount of rats they’d had pop up over the last couple of years, she was paranoid, making sure that those working under her, as well as her informants, spies, moles, connections in law enforcement, and her allies were all on the same page as her and her expectations.  She had been having long meetings with the other Dons who knew who she was and fathered her first three children.  The kids knew who their fathers really were, and were loved and doted on by their biological fathers, but they almost always referred to Bucky as “dad.”

Y/N was in a meeting with Steve Rogers, Frankie’s father, and Bucky was feeling the jealousy eating him alive.  It was just the two of them in there.  He tried to tell himself he had nothing to worry about, but couldn’t seem to get his heart to listen to his mind.  The separation was becoming too much for him, and he was missing her terribly.  He returned from being out and rounded the corner to see Steve and Y/N walking out of her study.  They talked quietly for a moment before Steve took Y/N’s hand and kissed the ruby ring, then leaned in and kissed her cheek, far too close to her mouth for Bucky’s liking.  Bucky hid himself behind the corner for another minute until Steve nodded and started to walk away from her towards him.  Bucky pretended to just come around the corner and Steve gave him a friendly smile.  “Hey Buck,” he greeted him.  “Good to see you.”

“Rogers,” Bucky greeted him coldly.

“Oh come on, punk,” Steve frowned.  “When are you gonna let it go?  It was a long time ago.  You’re married to her–”

Bucky scoffed.  “Yeah.  See you around.”  He walked away towards Y/N’s study, then Frankie came running around the other corner.  “Hey bud,” Bucky greeted him.

“Hey Dad,” Frankie said, hugging him.  “Mama said Steve was here.”

Bucky gestured behind him and Frankie looked and saw him.  “Oh, hi Steve.”

“Hey kid,” Steve smiled widely.  “Are you ready for some fun?”

“Yeah,” Frankie nodded with an excited smile.  He looked back up at Bucky.  “We’re going to see the Yankees game.”

“Nice,” Bucky nodded with a tight smile.  He leaned down and kissed the top of Frankie’s head.  “Be safe, and have fun.”

“I will.  Love you!” Frankie said, then ran over to Steve, who hugged him and ruffled his hair.

“Love you,” Bucky called back.  He watched them leave before huffing a sharp breath then turning to her study.  At least he calls me dad, he thought wryly.  He knocked on her door and she called him in.  He walked in to find her pouring over some paperwork on her desk, writing some things furiously before flipping pages over.  “Mama,” he greeted her.

“Report?” she asked, not looking up.  

Bucky silently sighed.  She’d been much more curt with him since that night she rejected his advances.  He didn’t blame her, but it still hurt.  “Loyalties are strong on the surface, but we’re doing some double checking,” he said.  She continued to jot things down and then put down her pen and looked at him.  “How was your meeting?” he asked, immediately regretting it.  He just couldn’t seem to help himself.  

Y/N smirked at him.  “It was fine.  Steve is still committed to our arrangement.  Did Frankie find him?” Bucky nodded.  “Good.”

“And Tony?  T’Challa?” he asked.

Y/N rolled her eyes.  “Are you asking because you’re interested in business or because you wanna know if I fucked any of them on my desk?”

Bucky grimaced.  She could read him so easily, and he felt embarrassed and ashamed at how jealous and insecure he was about it.  He inhaled deeply, looking away and down at the floor.  “I’m asking about business,” he said quietly.

has tattoos that mark this connection that glow whenever he exerts significant stress. can only otherwise be seen under blacklight (like in Las Casualonas!)

he wears those beachy, vacation silk kimonos in his signature dark mint green color, alongside a matching bucket hat. under that is a sleeveless black swim suit with enchanting table embroidery

his wings are bird-like, black with a few iridescent feathers that glow red when he goes full angel. he's had carved emerald piercings placed on them for decoration and tribute to a friend long gone after getting clipped. if he cant properly fly for now, he might as well indulge a little

magical carved rubies are all over his person, shaped to resemble hardcore hearts. these glow when he fights or is about to do something powerful

Pac and Mike are soul-bonded but they forgot they about it upon coming onto the island. (they also forgot the magical perks that come with that) This doesn't negate their package-deal relationship in anyway

Experimentation in the QSMP Chume Labs has made them increasingly susseptible to Murphy's Law for some reason. The island itself is not helping either

Pac likes to dress up while Mike will literally pick up the nearest piece of clothing. On occasion they will swap clothes

The Mystery of the Missing Freshmen

I touched on this a bit in a previous post, but now that the movie has been released on youtube, I can go into it a little more: how many kids are in the freshman class in Unicorn Academy?

In the initial group shot, there are eleven kids:

But three of them are confirmed to be seniors at the end of the movie, so we can assume they were there to assist the freshmen, if needed.

Now, even if those three weren't explicitly stated to be seniors, one might guess they weren't new students, due to already having riding outfits. But not so! In the dorm assignment scene, we see a girl being assigned to Ruby Dorm that wasn't in the group shot:

And if we rewind a bit, we can see that she already has a riding outfit on:

Furthermore, even earlier in this scene, we see her walking by with one of the girls who was in the group shot, and not only does she have a riding outfit, but she already has a hair streak, indicating she bonded with her unicorn:

This is most likely a case of the designers not bothering (or not having the time/resources) to design her non-rider outfit, since she apparently becomes part of Valentina's girl group, as seen in Valentina's profile video, and the promo shown after the movie on youtube:

Which raises the question, is the girl on the left also a freshman? She wasn't seen in any of the 'here are the freshmen' scenes, or in any scenes in the movie at all (as far as I could tell; then again, I wasn't looking for her either. If you spotted her, let me know!). I'd assume that she is a freshman, since Valentina and Pink Streak are, but it's also likely that Valentina, as a super legacy, has been hanging out at Unicorn Academy most of her life, and might have made some friends before officially being able to enroll.

Lastly, there's one more known freshman, though he is seen only in one scene from the front:

So that's five potential freshmen besides the main characters, with four actually being seen in the movie. Which means that there might be even more freshmen that we didn't get to see. I think there should be at least one more, to bring the number up to an even dozen. Six main characters and six non-main characters. Hopefully we'll get to see them in the background, if nothing else.

Antes que nada, un poco de contexto. El Adventure Team Racing es una de las actividades deportivas de resistencia más extremas y exigentes. Involucra correr cientos de kilómetros, montar en bicicleta a campo traviesa, escalar peligrosas cumbres, remar en kayak en contra corrientes impredecibles, todo ello a una gran velocidad y sobre cualquier tipo de terreno peligroso. Las carreras pueden durar varios días, tan solo se permiten paradas breves y hay penalizaciones de tiempo por ayudas. 

Wahlberg encarna a Michael Light, el líder del equipo, quien crea un vínculo con un perro callejero al que llama Arthur. Este perro, apaleado, hambriento, enfermo y plagado de gusanos decide, de una manera inexplicable, acompañar a un hombre llamado “el mejor corredor de equipo de aventura que nunca ganó un campeonato”, en una última oportunidad de demostrar su capacidad y tenacidad como atleta extremo.

En el primer acto, veremos como Michael ama a su esposa Helen (Juliet Rylance), una ex corredora como el y a su pequeña hija Ruby (Cece Valentina), quien tiene como pasatiempo pintar de rosa las uñas de su padre. Michael es un buen padre de familia, pero detesta trabajar para su padre Charlie (Paul Gilofoyle), un ex militar convertido en agente inmobiliario. Su legado como corredor se estropeó por una mala decisión causada por su terquedad y por una imagen viral de su equipo perdedor atascado en el barro.

Michael quiere volver a las carreras, pero nadie lo quiere patrocinar después de su último fracaso. Con tan solo la mitad del dinero que necesita (auspiciado por su pareja), el veterano atleta de barba descuidada reúne a un equipo conformado por amigos que quieren demostrar que pueden lograrlo una última vez. Chick (Ali Suliman, quien trabajó con Wahlberg en la estupenda "Lone Survivor"), es el navegante, un hombre que fue despedido del equipo campeón por su mala rodilla; Olivia (Nathalie Emmanuel de "Rápido y furioso"), es la escaladora e hija de un antiguo campeón que ahora está enfermo de cáncer terminal; y Leo (Simu Liu de "Shang-Chi"), es la estrella de las redes sociales quien publicó la foto viral de su equipo perdedor y que todavía guarda resentimiento hacia Michael por las malas decisiones que les costaron el premio en la carrera anterior. 

El segundo acto nos muestra la emocionante carrera llevada a cabo en un agreste terreno selvático. El primer evento es una caminata de 39 kilómetros a través de la jungla. No hay un camino definido, por lo que uno de los desafíos del deporte es encontrar atajos a través de terrenos peligrosos e inexplorados.

La cinta incluye una secuencia muy emocionante y que crispa los nervios, relacionada con un incidente en un cable de tirolina desgastado (¡Aplausos para los dobles de acción!).

Paralelo al primer y segundo acto, conoceremos la historia de Arthur, el maltrecho perro callejero (¡aplausos al actor canino!) que se encuentra con Michael en una de las paradas. Este le da una albóndiga y basta con ese acto de generosidad para que el perro siga al equipo durante cientos de kilómetros (incluso salvará a Leo de caer por un acantilado).

Arthur y Michael son unas criaturas solitarias y de aspecto muy similar (la barba, las heridas mal curadas), que comparten la actitud de no dejarse aplastar por las adversidades. La conexión entre Michael y Arthur, y la forma en que Michael transfiere su determinación de ganar la carrera a la lucha por salvar al moribundo Arthur, son tremendamente conmovedoras

Una amistad sin límites es una gran cinta colmada de emoción, humanidad y “caninidad” que merece estar en el panteón de las mejores películas protagonizadas por perros

Siempre que salen animalitos es signo seguro de lagrimeo, pero no en esta peli, es cierto que sientes lástima por el perrete pero no llegan al extremo de "forzar" ninguna situación o condición para hacer saltar las lágrimas al espectador.

Personalmente no siento esa conexión especial entre Mark Wahlberg y el perrete, veo una relación forzada por parte de Mark pero si se han mantenido fieles a los hechos reales, pues nada que decir y le ponemos tres estrellitas ⭐⭐⭐

Arthur fue un perro mestizo, una mezcla entre Labrador y Terrier, que se robó la atención y corazón del equipo sueco de aventura Peak Performance que disputada el Mundial Huairasinchi Explorer; era 2014. El ‘flechazo’ ocurrió en Ecuador y no en República Dominicana, como se narra en el filme. Murió el 9 de diciembre de 2020, a causa de un tumor no detectado a tiempo. Al final de peli se nos muestran a los verdaderos personajes de la historia.
