Simon is scared, more then he has ever been. He’s watching his husband bleeding out while someone else he loves is trying her best to save him. She’s no combat medic but as soon as Johnny’s body hit the floor she was by his side shoving her gauze covered fingers into his wounds. She barked orders at Price while he called an ambulance.
“Ambulance should be here in 15 minutes.” Price says his phone still pressed up to his ear keeping the dispatchers updated. Gaz has been running round the house looking for first-aid kits, clean sheets anything she can use to make bandages. Her hands are shaking blood running down her face. Johnny nicked her ear when he shot at Jack, could have been worse at least he’s down.
Ghost is angry, pacing the room his eyes burning into Jack wondering which would be more satisfying to break his legs or his arms? Ghost is listening to every word Price is saying waiting for new orders. It’s easier to be Ghost then Simon right now.
“Here, I’ve got this!” Gaz says as he rushes back in the room. Price helps him open the green first aid kit pulling out bandages and handing them to you.
“How long until the ambulance?” you ask your voice shaking, as you instruct Gaz to keep watching Johnny’s breathing.
“They’re coming.” Price replies not giving a time. A lump forms in Ghost’s throat he swallows to get it away. Price moves over to stand next to him.
“Pass me your phone I need to call someone to deal with all this.” Price says leaning in. Ghost reaches into his vest pulling out his phone passing it to Price. He pats Ghost on the shoulder then moves back to the other side of the room. A moan comes from the floor, Ghost’s head snaps to see Soap moving. That’s good right.
“Hey, Johnny keep still.” You say as his arms make their way to the source of the pain. “Keep his head still.” You say to Gaz. He was shot in the back he could have spinal damage. Gaz moves so he can hold Johnny’s head. He’s come too that has to be a good thing you think as you he moans. There is no telling how aware he is but he know’s he’s in pain. You have to fight to keep his hands away so he won’t pull the dressing out. He’s mumbling incoherently as you hear the ambulance sirens that makes you relax a little.
“Ghost go get them.” Price says, you hear Simon leave the room. You look over at Jack. He’s stopped screaming and shouting. Price patched his shoulder up he should be fine. He should be dead. You push the thought away you need to focus on Johnny. His hand has found your thigh, you reach down with your free hand to squeeze it. His eyes find yours and he smiles as you hear footsteps running. The door bursts open and paramedics flood in. You hear Price hang up on the dispatcher as two of them come over to you.
“What’s happened?” The male one says as he bends down opposite you unzipping his bag.
“He was shot from behind, through and through. I’ve tried my best to stop the bleeding.” You explain squeezing Johnny’s hand, you hear more sirens as Simon leaves the room again. The paramedic is trying to get Johnny’s attention as the second paramedic comes to take over holding the gauze from you.
You let go of Johnny’s hand moving out the way as the paramedics talk with each other. You stand up as another set of paramedics and police pile into the room. Price goes over to talk to the police as he points the other paramedics over to Jack. You turn and watch as they look at his shoulder. Gaz gets up on his feet as you watch the paramedics work on Johnny, getting an IV in, giving him oxygen, pressing more bandages into his wound.
Your cheek starts stinging and it takes everything in your power to not touch it. Gaz comes over to you leading you out of the way and over to a chair, Simon and Price are talking with the police. Everything was starting to feel like a blur. You look down you’re sat next to Marks body, you keep watching the paramedics work on Johnny and Jack.
You hear the paramedics say there is a doctor here for Johnny. You can see biased on the equipment he’s hanging on. He’s put under and they intubate him. The doctor arrives a few seconds later he wants to do an en-route blood transfusion. Jack leaves first with the other ambulance crew and some officers following behind. He’s formally arrested, his eyes burn into you as you hear the charges read out. The rest of the officers start collecting evidence.
“Do you need medical attention?” Someone says to you. You look up from Johnny to see an officer stood beside you. You shake your head looking back as the paramedics move Johnny onto a spinal board. Simon is by your side now. You’re crying, each tear that falls in your wound stings. At least the bleeding as stopped you think.
“Go with Johnny to the hospital and get patched up. We’ll meet you there as soon as we’re done here.” Simon says. You can’t look at him, not with his mask on not while Johnny is still fighting for his life. You get up off the chair though and he squeezes your shoulder. You look round the room as you follow the paramedics out. Jack is gone, Mark is dead. The body in the hallway the person who shot Johnny has been moved and covered up. You look at Price who nods at you then goes back to talking to the officers. Ghost follows you out to the ambulance. You get in the front, you don’t even remember the drive.
  ——————————
Your body moves on autopilot. When you make it to the hospital Johnny is taken through to triage. You’re in the waiting room, you refuse help from the nurse who comes to see you. You just sit and wait, using tissues to dab your wound, if you move in the wrong way it starts bleeding again. You’ll need stitches but you want to make sure Johnny is okay first. You don’t want to miss the updates. You need to be somewhere Simon can find you when he gets here. You’re waiting nervously when a doctor comes over to you, he introduces himself and you stand up.
“We’re going to be taking him through to surgery, to remove the bullet fragments. We won’t know the extent of the damage until after we can open him up. I’ll send a nurse through to take a look at your face, you were also involved in the attack from what I understand?” You nod not having the energy to fight with him.
“I’m okay, I would like to wait for-” you stop yourself, what do you even say? You want to wait for his husband? For Price and Gaz who you barely even know. How much does the doctor know? You realise you’ve not been paying attention to whats been going on since you were hands deep in Johnny’s abdomen.
“The other people involved in the incident, they’re his squad mates, from the army. They would like to know he’s okay.”
“I can update them as well if you give me their names but I do think that wound needs looking at, cleaned and bandaged up at the very least.” The doctor says. You don’t want to you don’t want anyone to touch you.
“I would rather wait.” You say sitting back down. The doctor relents and tells you someone will be out to update you. You feel sick your stomach in knots. You wish you had your phone so you could text Simon. You don’t know how long Simon is going to be or how long Johnny’s surgery is going to take. He’s going to be okay. You tell yourself.
He’s going to be okay.
  ——————————
You’re woken to someone shaking you. You don’t even remember falling asleep it makes you jump and you almost fall out the chair. You look up it’s Simon, he doesn’t have his mask on. You look at him confused the pain coming back to your face.
“You need to get that checked out.” Simon says kneeling down in front of you.
“Johnny’s in surgery.” You say.
“I know, the doctor filled us in, Price is talking with him now.” You touch Simon’s cheek.
“I’m sorry I got Johnny hurt.” You say, you’re too exhausted to cry.
“It’s not your fault.” Simon says reaching up holding your hand on his chin squeezing it. He stands up.
“C’mon, Price bullied the doctors into finding a private room for Johnny, we’ll wait in there. And I’ll find a nurse to take a look at that cheek.” Simon says. You let him lead you too your feet as he wraps his arm round your waist. When you make it to the room it’s nice even has a sofa in the corner which Simon leads you too. He leaves and comes back a few minutes later with a nurse who cleans your wound. She says it’s going to need stitches, you reluctantly allow her to do them. By the time she is done and bandaging your ear and cheek up Price walks into the room.
“The police need a statement from you.” He says looking at you. You look at the nurse and thank her as she tides up to leave.
“Christ, can’t she have a rest they can talk to her tomorrow.” Simon says from the other sofa on the other side of the room.
“It’s just a statement 5 minutes tops. They’ll bring you in for a proper interview later in the week.” Price says. You nod getting off the bed heading back over to the sofa where Simon is. You lay up against him he wraps his arm round your shoulder.
“Thank you for rescuing me.” You say. He kisses the top of your head.
“I’m sorry it had to come to this, we should have stayed at the house with you.” He says. You can hear the guilt in his voice. You don’t know what he’s more guilty about. You being kidnapped or Johnny being shot. You don’t want to leave his side wrapping your arms round his stomach. When the police officers come in they ask you a few questions take a quick statement then leave.
You see Price and Gaz at the door. You’re exhausted leaning on Simon’s chest. You pull your feet on the sofa a shiver runs through your body. You close your eyes breathing Simon in but all you can smell is blood.
  ——————————
Simon looks over at you still asleep on the sofa tucked under the blanket he threw over you. They wheeled Johnny in from surgery a bit ago, said he might need a few minutes to come round. Simon moved from the sofa to a chair by the bed so he could hold Johnny’s hand.
He hates seeing Johnny like this, he hates seeing him hurt. His eyes periodically flick back to you, what if Johnny’s vest didn’t stop the bullet. What if it kept going all the way through to you. Simon pushes the thought away, he can’t think about that, losing the both of you is just too much. You’re safe, Johnny is safe, he’s safe. Johnny murmurs and Simon’s head snaps up, he sits up pulling his chair closer to the bed and squeezing Johnny’s hand.
“Hey,” Simon says as Johnny turns to look at him blinking.
“Christ, I feel like shit.” Johnny says pulling himself up in the bed. Simon gets up helping him arrange the pillows.
“Stop getting shot then.” Simon says, Johnny smiles leaning back down in the bed. Simon kisses him on the forehead before sitting back down. Johnny looks past Simon to see you curled up on the sofa.
“How is she?” He asks, Simon looks back for a second squeezing Johnny’s hand.
“She’s fine.” Simon says, Johnny sighs.
“What about..” Johnny trails off, Simon knows who he’s talking about.
“In custody, he’ll live.” Simon says.
“Should have aimed for the head.” Johnny says. Simon smiles, if he had aimed for the head he could have killed her.
“How ‘bout you? You good?.” Johnny asks, Simon rolls his eyes, bringing up Johnny’s hand and kissing it.
“I’m good.” Simon says, Johnny looks doubtful. Simon Squeezes his hand, looking away, he’ll deal with his emotions later.
“Si,” Johnny says forcing his eyes to meet Simon’s. “I love you.”
“I love you too Johnny.” Simon says smiling.
“Johnny?” Your voice cuts through the silence and Simon turns to see you sitting up on the sofa. He gets up bringing over another chair for you.
“Good to see you lass.” Johnny says enthusiastically, he’s awake and smiling. It’s all you need walking over to him and throwing your arms round him.
“Easy love, still got holes in me.” Johnny says wrapping his arms round your back.
“I know I’m so sorry.” You blurt out you can feel yourself welling up again. It’s happy tears this time. You feel Simon’s hand on your back as you pull away.
“You ain’t got anything to be sorry ‘bout.” Johnny says his face serious.
“We’re sorry we left ya, didn’t think anyone knew where you were.” Johnny says. Simon’s hand leaves your back pulling on your wrist for you to sit down. You look at Simon, he looks tired. You take his hand and squeeze it.
“I should have fought, you gave me the gun.” You say looking at Simon. “I tried to run instead.”
“It doesn’t matter now, you’re safe he’s gone.” Simon says. You know there is more to it, with so many people involved it’ll be a while before their all punished. You’re almost happy Chloe isn’t around to see it. She would have had a lot to say watching her family be arrested and court marshalled for their involvement. You take Johnny’s hand in yours rubbing it with your thumb.
“Thank you for saving my life love.” He says pulling you back to relativity, you feel yourself blushing.
“Well I wasn’t going to let you die.” You say feeling embarrassed for some reason. Johnny brings your hand up to his face and kisses it.
“I know, I love you.” He says. It warms your heart and you find yourself leaning up against Simon. You smile at him as Simon wraps his arm around you kissing the top of your head.
“I love you too.” You say.
“So how much medical leave do you think I’ll get this time?” Johnny asks looking at Simon.
“Pff, with the way you’re acting I bet you’ll be ready to go by next week.” Simon scoffs.
“Aw, not even a week, you’re such a tight ass. You hearing this captain. Si said I’m only allowed a week off.” Johnny says as you see Price walk into the room. You sit up straight so you’re not leaning on Simon.
“If you’re lucky.” Price smiles. Johnny shakes his head and you squeeze his hand.
“Well then, making sure I’m fit and ready for duty?” Johnny asks.
“Thought I would give you an update.” Price says crossing his arms.
“Jack, he’s out.” It’s like someone sucked all the air out the room, your head starts to throb where you were hit earlier. You squeeze Johnny’s hand.
“How? It’s only been a few hours.” Simon asks.
“His lawyers work quick and they’re good.” Price says, he sounds sympathetic.
“But he kidnapped me, what about all the evidence you got?” You say looking up at Price, eyes wide. This can’t be happening.
“They did a good job at destroying it all, it’s going to take the police time to go through everything.” Price says. You feel sick, no way he’s going to get away with it. No way. Your ears start ringing as you hear Johnny and Simon talk asking questions Price does not have the answers to.
This can’t be happening.

I am very much aware that the police would have reasonable evidence to hold Jack and not let him out but hey it's just a story.

Time to categorize all the things I'm actually working on here:
Tumblr media
#Late-Draft's ATLA complete series Most art will be part of my series of expanding/adjusting the canon to what I think would perfectly align with the narrative and enhance the themes. This is like additional content to the episodes, and in some cases heavy edits of episodes. Example would be that I think the Order of the White Lotus plotline has been extremely rushed and it didn't land as well as it should. There's also the fact that Zuko and Iroh never directly discussed anything about the war and that's not even the consequence of ATLA being restricted as a "children's show" - see The Avatar State episode. Work in this tag will be darker and more mature than the show itself. Examples in this category: Zuko freeing Appa comic All Fire Nation worldbuilding posts fall into this category as well, filed under #fire nation tag
Tumblr media
#Last Air Keyholder AU Complete work on my ATLA sci-fi AU, which is an entire story that doesn't follow closely the beats of the original but has the identical emotional core and character development. Includes concept art, animations (hopefully an animated intro, for real), comics and perhaps I'll do it in a fanfiction format as well. The premise is that 1000 years in the future, the main characters are chased by villains through a huge metropolis while ancient Air Nomad technology lays dormant in the underground layers. Aang and his friends must find 3 other element key holders besides him to trigger the Harmonic Convergence, all the while avoiding Zuko and his entourage of Fire Nation rollerblade racers. Bending is used in combat and in enhancing your speed and technique in racing.
Tumblr media
#ATLA social media AU Silly, non-committal snippets that are not meant to have underlying worldbuilding, these are just for fun and for exploring character dynamics. Everything is the same but characters have access to social media and they can't stop messaging each other.
Tumblr media
* Super Secret Project that hasn't yet been made public - includes the entire storyline with just one thing altered, much more depressing than canon. Hint - the Moon is dead.

A Broken Sort of Normal Part 5
WC:1109 Masterpost CW: Hostage Situation, Off Screen Gun Violence, Blood, Minor Injury
Danny winced as Flash pressed the little wad of gauze against the forehead wound, making the younger hero pout in sympathy. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay.” It really was. Gashes like that just hurt.
After the villain of the day had been taken out, Flash has basically teleported to Danny’s side wanting to help out. Danny’s kit could easily handle a minor head wound, but they were a pain to try and deal with on one’s own so Danny figured there was no harm in it. Flash had to have experience from patching up plenty of his own wounds. Besides, it let the medics swarming on site now that the hostage situation was over focus on the civilians.
Flash set a fresh piece of gauze against the wound. “So, want to tell me what was going through that busted head of yours when you stood up to armed robbers?”
“It was Captain Cold,” Danny said like that explained everything. At Flash’s frown Danny sighed and explained. “Everyone knows he has a code of honor. Traditionally, Medics are non combatants and should always be allowed to act. I figured my chances were pretty good.”
“They smashed you in the head with a gun.”
“Yeah,” Danny said with a little shrug. He figured he could move now that the gauze was safely secured with two bits of medical tape. “But that was one of Captain Cold’s henches and Cold almost shot him for it. I was fine after.”
“Dude.”
“Dude, she might have died if I didn’t act. Saving her was worth a little bleeding on my part.”
Flash opened his mouth to say something back to that, but snapped it shut as Danny jutted a finger at him.
“And don’t you dare tell me I’m just a civilian or something like that; I’m a field medic.”
Flash held up his hands. He looked a little ridiculous with the nitrile gloves over his super suit. “Wasn’t going to! In fact, I was going to say that you’re really brave.”
“Oh,” Danny said, deflating. He wasn’t used to anyone taking his job and what it meant seriously. Bashfully, he lowered his accusatory finger and hoped he wasn’t blushing. “Um, thank you?”
“You’re really bad at taking a compliment, aren’t you?” Flash asked, grinning at him.
Oh he was definitely blushing now. He ducked his head, rubbing at the back of his neck as he mumbled, “Guess I’m not used to them.”
Danny was saved from any response Flash might have to his confession by a coworker approaching them. Danny recognized the red hair and ignored the flash of melancholy that always came with seeing it.
“So Mr. Fenton, going to behave for me?” Laura asked with a little smile, snapping on fresh gloves as she stepped up to him.
“I think I can manage. Flash has already done a good job patching me up,” he said, letting her tilt his head this way and that. “Gash to the right temp from blunt force trauma with a gun. I’m sure I’ll have quite a bruise, maybe even a black eye. Mild concision—”
“Follow my finger.”
“—no lost of consciousness or memory issues but I have a headache, mild nausea, and a bit of brain fog.”
“Tracking isn’t bad. Repeat after me: penguin, lemon, pillow, bottle, mouse.”
“Penguin, lemon, pillow, bottle, mouse,” Danny repeated dutifully.
“You know the drill?”
He didn’t roll his eyes because he was a professional. (And because it would hurt.) “Yep. Nothing strenuously mentally or physically for a few days. Avoid screens for at least the first twenty-four hours.”
“And no being alone for those twenty-four hours in case it’s worse than mild,” Laura reminded him, a pointed brow raised.
Danny gave an acknowledging hum. He wasn’t going to listen to that advice, but he acknowledged it.
Laura snapped off her gloves, folding them in on themselves with practiced ease. “You did good today, Danny, so try to actually take it easy, alright?”
He gave her a wane smile “I’ll try. If anyone hears anything—”
“Everyone knows to let you know she makes it out of surgery.”
It was bending the rules a little, but sometimes they just needed to know that a person they helped save made it. He was glad they all got this was one of those people for Danny. “Thanks.”
“Rest, I mean it Danny,” Laura said with a purposeful point as she walked away.
Danny turned away from her to find Flash watching him with a little frown. “What?”
“You don’t have anyone to watch you, do you?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Danny said as he packed up his little medkit.
“You totally don’t!” Flash said, looking way too pleased at himself for figuring that out.
Danny sighed and swung his bag up onto his shoulder. “Okay, no, I don’t. But Laura is just being overly cautious. I can tell this is mild and I really will rest, no mater what she thinks.”
As Danny started to walk out of the bank, Flash kept pace, walking backwards in front of him. “But it could be worse.”
“But it’s not.”
“But it could be. And what sort of hero would I be if I let the hero of the hour be in danger?”
Ugh, heroes. Was he ever that insufferable?
“Flash, that’s… sweet of you, but you really, really can’t want to be in your suit for twenty-four hours.”
He just shrugged. “Then I won’t. I only need to keep the mask on. I can totally run home and back with a change of clothing in seconds, dude. And it gives me time to let— I mean, grab my phone. And food! I can totally grab food! You’ve been dealing with this for hours, you have to be hungry. Do you like pizza? What am I saying, everyone likes pizza. I’ll grab pizza! I know a great place that does these really cool topping combos, you’ll love it. What do you like?”
Danny found the corner of his mouth ticking up despite himself. “Yeah, Flash, I like pizza. Surprise me.”
“You’re agreeing then?” Flash said, bouncing on his toes before rushing around Danny in a dizzying circle to stand next to him again but now walking the right way. “Awesome! We’ll get you home first and then I’ll get all the other stuff. I’d carry you, but I don’t think your head would like that.”
“No, I really don’t think it would,” Danny agreed. The Speed Force still felt weird as fuck and Danny was okay not spending any more time in it then he needed to. He’d leave the rushing around to the Flashes.

Note
(Apologies if this is outside your normal ask) why weren't weapons like spears and pikes made entirely out of bronze/iron/whatever metal the army used?
Since (depending on the army) many of them are already given a sword as a sidearm, is also having a spear made out of iron (so it won't break as easily) too expensive? Or is it a weight issue?
I'm pretty sure I've seen a few that were, but they're fairly rare. Weight is a serious consideration, especially for bronze weapons, but that wasn't the real problem.
Ironically, the wooden shaft is sturdier than an equivalently sized iron or bronze shaft would have been. A major problem for longswords in the early iron age was that they tended to bend from use. There's even a Roman account from combat with the Celts, where the Celts were using bronze longswords, and had to re-straighten their weapons on the battlefield because they were becoming bent and breaking.
In fact the Romans specifically designed a non-reusable javelin (the pilum), which exploited this issue. The pilum had an abnormally long head (roughly 60cm) When the pilum struck its target, the head would bury into the target normally, but the weight of the grip would cause the iron shaft to deform, rendering the weapon unusable.
The other side of this is that, as mentioned, wood is a lot tougher than people seem to think. I'm not sure where this idea that you could just casually chop through someone's spear with a sword came from, but as anyone who's ever tried to chop down a tree can tell you, yes in a fight between wood and metal, metal will win, but it takes a lot of effort to get there. Cutting through someone's spear with a single slice just isn't happening. That's not how wood works, and that's not how swords work. Though, attempting to do so is a good way to mangle your blade.
Wooden spear shafts were reasonably durable, and easy to replace. Bronze or iron shafts were neither.
Eventually, I think this was the 19th century, hollow steel shafts were used by cavalry. At that point in time you were looking at shafts that were significantly more durable than the wooden ones, and were cheap enough to produce that they could be easily fielded. Unfortunately, this only lasted a few decades until the proliferation of fully automatic firearms ended cavalry charges definitively. In another bit of irony, the technological advancement that allowed for effective metal spear shafts, is the same advancement that rendered them obsolete.
I think there were some iron reinforced shafts used by some cavalry forces before that, but I can't remember (nor can I quickly find) who might have been using those.
These days, hollow aluminum shafts are pretty common in javelins, and arrows, and they are generally superior to wooden shafts, however, the method to produce metallic aluminum wasn't discovered until the 19th century.
So, the short answer, wooden shafts were better. They were sturdier and easier to replace.

PervertNeighbor!Soap x NaiveFem!Reader.
+18 content warning
Tumblr media
PervertNeighbor!Soap who moved into your neighborhood a while ago but was just now sent home after being injured in combat and having to take a long medic leave to recover efficiently, Captain Price knows that if he let Soap stay in the medical wing of the base he would find a way to sneak into the training room and further damage his health.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who had to drop the trash bag he held in his non-injured hand and put it in front of his dick to cover the boner he got when he saw you bend over on all fours in your front garden, taking care of the pretty flowers around the white fence of your house.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who hadn’t felt the touch of a woman in such a long time, before his injury being constantly deployed to different places. Sometimes not even having 10 minutes to jerk off in whatever safe house he was staying in, so when he saw pretty little you displaying your body to him without even meaning to, he knew he had to do something about it.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who after taking care of the problem between his legs went to your house, opened the white fence, and stood behind you, not speaking as his eyes scanned your body, his eyes staying on your ass and the way your back was arched as you pull out the overgrown roots of your lilacs.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who only made his presence known after he saw you struggling with taking out a particularly deep root. “yae need some help, lass?” his voice low and raspy as he let out a chuckle when you yelped in surprise at the sudden sound of a male voice behind you. watching you get up in a panic, taking out your gardening gloves and holding them in your hands.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who pretends to be apologetic for scaring you when he was nothing but pleased as he saw your breast move when you jumped. “sorry, didn’ mean to scare yae lass” a cocky grin on his lips as he heard you stutter something about him not having to worry and that you were distracted, he couldn’t care less about what you said though, he was too focused on looking at the way your lips moved, imagining it was his cock stretching your lips and making you have to swallow your words to not choke as you take all of him in your mouth.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who offers his help to whatever it was that you were having problems pulling out from the ground, wanting to show you how strong he is even if he shouldn’t do anything that requires strength because that could cause long-term damage to his torn muscles.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who spent the next 15 minutes explaining his back and arm injury to you after you denied his help by pointing out he had elastic bandages wrapped all around the upper part of his right arm. saying that he shouldn’t do anything that requires force if he didn’t want to tear his muscles and cause severe damage, claiming your father had made that mistake 7 years ago and now his arms are in constant pain every time he lifts something.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who gets painfully hard after you place a hand on his injured arm to see how swollen it is and reprimand him so softly for offering his help when he should be resting since the injury doesn’t look too good yet.
PervertNeigbor!Soap who decides to take advantage of your words, coming to your home almost every day to ask for help in things he had no problem doing, claiming that “need yae help, lass. don’ wanna cause any more damage to my arm” and naive little you accept his excuse every time, taking such good care of him because you don’t want him to end up with the same long-lasting effects your father has after ignoring the doctor's order of not using his arm a lot.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who comes so often to your house every day that you offer him to stay for the next few days so he doesn’t have to come over multiple times a day, telling him you work from home so it was no problem for you to rearrange your working hours to help him.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who agrees immediately, wasting no time on taking everything he may need to your home and placing it in your bedroom because you can’t expect him to not sleep next to you. What if he needs help at night to go to the bathroom? he needs to be close to you at all times so if he needs anything you’re close enough to help him immediately.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who uses your naiveness as a way of teasing you, when dressing after he showered calling you, and when you enter the room and see he has his pants on his hands, only standing in boxers and telling you “yae wouldn’t mind helping me, right lass?” observing as you get on your knees and avoid making eye contact with him as you help him pull his pants on while looking down to give him a sort of respect he wished you would lose and just look at the bulge on his underwear, take it in your hands and jerk him off through the fabric.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who clearly doesn’t give a shit about decency, walking around with less and less clothing till he just wears boxers around your house, claiming that his back and arm don’t hurt as much without clothes. Naive little you just letting him walk around half naked since you don’t want him to be in more pain that he probably already was without clothes on.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who after spending two weeks living in your house comes to you with a really big problem he needs help with, telling you to come to your bedroom and lock the door for a reason he doesn’t want to tell you.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who only reveals the problem to you after making you promise you would help him no matter what. moving away the pillow on his lap and throwing it somewhere in the bed, displaying the sight of his big and thick cock, fully hard and leaking precum from the tip.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who reminds you of your promise when you don’t say anything after 20 seconds of pure silence, taking a hold of your wrist and pulling you to him and mumbling “my arm hurts lass, why don’ yae be good and help me, hm?”
PervertNeighbor!Soap who groans when you grab a hold of his boner with hesitance, the warmth of your hand feeling heavenly against his aching cock, urging you to get on your knees so it’s easier for you to take him in your mouth.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who grabs a hold of your hair, pushing your head down a little too roughly, not able to contain his excitement of finally having you on your knees, sucking on his cock like how he imagined first met you.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who swore he would be gentle as to not scare you but as soon as you licked his tip he felt the need to fuck your mouth, making you gag on his thick and big shaft, stretch your mouth to full capacity as you try to take all of him.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who does just that, forcing your head lower, making you take his cock till your nose makes contact with his dark and untrimmed pubes. making you gag as he starts to thrust into your mouth, not letting you lift your head as he hits the back of your throat continuously to the point it starts to hurt.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who tells you to relax your throat or you will continue to gag and have difficulty breathing, and he doesn’t want that (he does want that) mumbling praises when you listen to him and do as he tells you “taking such good care of me, lass” thrusting after every word.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who starts to throat fuck you hard and fast, until he forces your head all the way down into his cock once more, holding you there as he comes into your throat, forcing you to swallow as he doesn’t let you move your head away until you do.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who finally lets you off his cock, watching as you move your face away from his softening shaft, coughing, your lips swollen and drool dripping from the corner of your mouth. your makeup smudged from your tears when you struggled to take all of him.
PervertNeighbor!Soap who says he’ll make it up to you when his injury heals but for now why don’t you clean his dick with your tongue and maybe he’ll reward you for your help by letting you sit on his face.

If Batfamily members were part of the Avatar (The Last Airbender) universe. Which element would each be able to bend?
It’s probably been done before by other creators, but I will write each one of my headcanons and why I think they’d bend that element. You’re free to think otherwise about these.
Water: as Uncle Iroh explained to Zuko, water is the element of change. The people of the water tribes are capable to adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.
•Dick - had to evolve many times in order to fit, whether from an orphan to a billionaire, a sidekick to forming his own team (the titans), or even moving cities altogether and becoming his own hero.
•Bruce - the original evolving character. He had to adapt from having loving parents to being an orphan. From being a one man show to having sidekicks and a whole team formed of superheroes. Whether he realizes it or not. He’s build a community around him to help the people that are part of it, feel loved and understood.
Earth: Earth is the element of substance. The people from the earth kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persisting and enduring.
•Cass - to begin and try to explain how enduring Cass is would be a whole essay on its own. She was raised from the minute she was born to be a living weapon. Endured years of abuse towards that goal. And much like Toph, she concentrates, analyses and concludes before she attack.
•Jason - I know Jason could arguably be added as part of the fire element as well. But he’s been one of the Batfamily members that has had to endure a lot. His parents abused and neglected him, he never adapted to Bruce’s moral code, he was killed by the joker and brought back only to be another soldier for the League. He is strong in more ways than just physical strength and has never stopped persisting about what his beliefs are, even if that has created a breach with his family at times.
Fire: Fire is the element of power. The people of the fire nation have desire and will and the energy and drive to achieve what they want.
•Damian - a lot like Zuko, Damian’s drive and will was at first conducted by anger, superiority and desire for power. But the more he has immersed himself in achieving his own goals, and not the ones that were imposed to him by other people, he has been one of the most strong willed and powerful members of the Batfamily.
•Kate - Since childhood, Kate has been someone that felt she lacked power over her own life. The kidnapping, the loss of her mother and sister, her expulsion from the military, and overall control of her destiny. But this hasn’t stopped her from achieving what she wants. The will she has is enormous.
Air: Air is the element of freedom. The Air nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns and found peace and freedom. Also, the apparently had pretty good senses of humour.
•Steph - having to detach yourself from your own blood is something incredibly difficult. But Stephanie proved this can be done in order to achieve freedom when she took the mantle of spoiler and helped Robin and Batman take down her own father. She forged her own path.
•Alfred - One of the greatest characteristics from air nomads is their ability to remain peaceful. With every single thing the bat kids have put him through, he remains one of the more sarcastic and empathetic members of the family, and also a true guide for each of them.
Non-benders: Having no bending abilities has never been an impediment for the people of the four nations. We’ve seen them being great combatants, logical thinkers and overall, people that had earned their place amongst the people that seem to be ‘most powerful’.
The following three are listed as non-benders is mainly the result of their efforts to prove themselves in order to be a part of the Batfamily.
•Tim - His own strength has always proven to be his intellect. No combat, threats or anything physical at all was needed in order for him to use his mind to act as the greatest detective of this family and find out Batman’s identity. His brain has proven more useful than any violent action. He earned his spot inside the family.
•Barbara - Much like Tim, Barbara proved her own way into the family. She started out as a potential casualty in Batman’s book, but she quickly proved herself to the family. Even after being incapacitated to deal with criminals hand to hand, her logical thinking has helped the family perhaps even more with her role as Oracle.
•Duke - after losing his parent’s sanity at the hands of the joker, Duke also proved himself with the ‘we are Robin’ movement. He couldn’t care less about how powerful anyone else was, because he knew that what the movement represented was far more important than walking amongst heroes.
*All of the above could arguably be moved from one element to the other, but this is my personal headcanon.

So, my gaming table moved away from D&D a few years ago, and I feel pretty justified due to the Hasbro/WotC controversies the past year(ish). The controversies include using AI art in D&D (which is shitty, pay real artists you bozos), and the licensing thing where they tried to restrict the ability of people to create, market, and sell products based on the game (which would have put every actual play show in danger).
I think it is suspicious that famously anti-capitalism Brennan Lee Mulligan has not made any statement that I have found, and neither has Dropout. Truly, I'm so sorry for all my complaints if they have, but in doing my own research, I haven't found anything.
There are SO MANY non-D&D systems out there that could tell a lot of the stories Brennan and other DMs have on D20 better than D&D can. It has always baffled me that they choose to use a system built around combat to tell these huge narrative stories. Yes you can bend the system to your will if you're practiced enough, and dont get me wrong I'm a huge fan of most of the D20 catalogue nonetheless, but I wish they used their platform to bring better awareness to the WotC/Hasbro problem.
They have such a huge audience that they could do wonders to promote smaller TTRPG systems created by brilliant people who aren't shitbags. Like. Yeah you can homebrew basically anything for D&D, but sometimes it seems like they could work smarter not harder by using a system that makes more sense for the narrative rather than bending D&D to limits that, frankly, don't always work.
Yeah, Brennan is one of the best DMs out there, but like... maybe it's time to move on to bigger and better systems.

The idea of azula and yue travelling constantly and surviving on the land is many things but mainly funny.
Both of these 2 are princesses, young girls who have spent their entire life in luxury and wealth, and now they have to survive living in the wilderness with no money or servants or experience. The only thing they’ve got is yue’s spiritness azula’s bending. They would complain and whine as much as they want but It’s not like anything would change because of that’s since they’re not around anyone to follow their wishes and commands, and then again azula is too prideful to act too much like a child and yue put herself in this situation so she can’t complain that much.
We already know azula is strategic and tactical so she would try to plan and micromanage every aspect of their travels, but nature isn’t like that, there are always gonna be surprises and unplanned factors playing in, I think that would help azula deal with her obsession of perfection and control.
Being with yue, a spirit, especially an important one like the moon spirit, helps. Animals and plants are gentler with her since spirits are more in tuned with nature. They tend to find good spots for camping and more than once animals help yue and subsequently azula find food and so. If their sailing or on water, it would be even easier, since the moon controls the tides.
They still have to assign chores: yue hunts, especially for sea food. Azula uses her fire to cook. Yue can identify the non poisonous plants and read the stars, and azula plans their trips in the most efficient way so the least time and energy is wasted as possible.
They still have to cross civilisation, towns and villages, for supplies and shelter during harsh weather and so. Yue handles most of the the socialising and people handling because, number one, she’s not as socially inept during non-conflict as azula, and number two, there’s a risk of them recognising azula, the fugitive fire nation princess. They’d need an alias and coverup story, so most of the time they just say they’re wives and they’re travelling together, since they’re too different to be relatives and saying their just friends undermine the value of their companionship (neither of them faced her feeling for the other and so both are in constant denial).
They probably participate in peasant activities as to not draw too much attention. So maybe they’ll go dancing during parties, and play games during festivals, basically just having fun. If they interacted with the other villagers for more than necessary it would either be comedic as they lie about their true selves as much as they can, or fuel a jealousy dynamic between them if either one was, or had a woman be, too friendly. I imagine they’re both very possessive and territorial of each other.
They can’t stay too long though, not longer than a week, they always leave at the end.
I can’t imagine their travels as completely peaceful. Even if fire nation soldiers aren’t looking for her to put her back in prison/asylum, azula has a lot of enemies in all the nations due to her status and also her actions. What if they come across a group targeting azula specifically, so now there’s another stake in their mission (which is literally just her staying alive). Cue to azula and yue training together. Azula teaching yue what she knows to the point yue’s waterbending look and behave more like firebending, and azula begin to do the same and take waterbending inspiration in her firebending. I’m thinking of ways they can combine their respective combat styles and be more efficient in battle, like yue covering a lot of opponents in water so azula can electrify them all at once. A lot of combination like that. They’d be an epic fighting duo.
But still the majority of their travels are filled with peaceful and domestic days. Yue cuddling azula for warmth in their joined tent, them stargazing and cloudgazing while they lay atop the grass. Telling each other their deepest secrets and wishes and childhood stories under the cover of the night while no one else hears them but each other and the sky. They grow impossibly closer to each other. Yue would panic and sweat and heave breath and have her body shake and tremor all over in terror if azula is away for more than usual, and of course, vice versa. They’re so in love, and they don’t even know it yet.

After reading your post in regards to Toph being a cop — in your opinion, what do you think she should’ve become if she didn’t become a cop?
Honestly, part of me doesn't even think Toph should become anything lol. Or at least, not at once. She deserves to have the freedom she wanted so much, so I'd honestly just want to see her travelling and experiencing the worldz doing whatever the hell she wants.
Something I've been thinking about way too much ehen it comes to Toph is how she didn't really set out to change the world/defeat Ozai, like the rest of the Gaang. Of course, I don't think she was apathetic towards their cause, but we can't forget that her main motivation was to free herself from her parents.
Which she achieved by travelling with the Gaang, making friends while also hrowing as a person. I truly believe that even in canon, those were the best years in Toph's life, which may be why she chose to live in the same swamp that set Aang on his journey to her.
Tumblr media
So when the Gaang managed to defeat Ozai and the Fire Nation, it was a new start for Aang, Katara, Sokka and Zuko. But for Toph it was kind of the death of the freedom and companionship she loved from their travels.
After the war, the Gaang became political figures which sucks for Toph because a) she hates politics and b) it sets more restraints in how she operates. People know her as the Avatar's friend and so the underground fighters she used to run with see her as a lawbringer.
Tumblr media
So I could see Toph trying to make bending battles more legal and accepted. Hell, I like the idea of her being heavily engaged in probending, if not helping develop it.
I like the idea of Toph never getting tied down to a profession, though.
It won't be the same with her not always being able to have the Gaang at her side, but I think she might enjoy going solo for a bit. I can see her as a risk taker and daredevil, always trying to find another challenge, be it by dealing with a bunch of bandits or climbing a tall mountain.
The members of the Gaang would probably occasionally tag along with her, particularly Aang when he gets that Nomad itch and she'd visit them frequently.
Tumblr media
As she grows older she might become more accustomed to her new influence and role in the post war world, but I can't ever really see her engaging in politics on the level that Aang Katara, Sokka and Zuko would.
But I can see her trying to rebuild Earthbender culture and particularly try to bring Earthbending back to the finesse and artistry it had before the Fire Nation.
This ties back to the idea that due to the Fire Nation's constant invasion onto the Earth Kingdom, earthbending stopped being treated with the respect it used to have as a bending form. As Fire Nationals would see Earth Kingdom citizens as inferior and by extent, their bending arts. Plus rounding up all benders and locking them away wouldn't really create a space for techniques to be passed down. Additionally, Earthbenders themselves would probably have to prioritise combat based bending rather than the more artistic cultural aspects of it. Hence Earthbending being a sort of less refined or spiritual 'throw rock really hard'
Tumblr media
While Toph doesn't have much of a regard for tradition, I think she still feels strongly about her ties to the Earth Kingdom and with timez I could see her wanting to bring Earthebender culture into the future. It could start with her pushing to relearn older techniques that were lost to time, and perhaps trying to retrieve artifacts stolen by the Fire Nation. (INDIANA JONES TOPH- *gets shot*)
Also, throughout the series we see her seem to develop an interest in non combative bending. So it would be interesting to see her try to revive artistry in earthbending, particularly sculpting. I think it would be kinda cute, since it would be the first time she would be able to engage with art without someone having to describe it for her.
Tumblr media
Like look at how many statues of herself she made it's fucking adorable. Look at her gooo!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I could see her following some artistic hobbies as well, maybe trying to restore old Earth Kingdom monuments and scupltures. Since I think seismic sense could help her with archeological endeavours etc, like it did with the library.
I don't know if Toph could enjoy one singular vocation, due to her constant need for challenge and stimulation, so I think travelling the world and looking for various adventures and jobs would be the best fit. Since even if she's passionate about something, she can get burnt out if things get too repetitive, as we see with her metalbending academy.
Tumblr media
Essentially, I think she should become the dragonborn from Skyrim.

so one thing i've thought about before is how in AtLA, bending without any apparent effort, doing it casually or performing noticable feats of bending with very small movements (and in a similar way, doing it with apparent effortlessness) are all feats of the most powerful and skilled characters.
We see this most prominently with Bumi and Aang; Bumi is the first Earthbender we see fighting extensively, so its technically a misleading impression because a lot of what he does is directly contrary to regular Earthbending; he moves a LOT more, for one, and he famously bends with his face. this is notable because other benders, even those approaching his power, make use of powerful movements that are very showy and easy to see. Besides the fact that a lot of Bumi's feats feel like he's taken inspiration from Airbending in terms of technique, he is so powerful and skilled that only Toph approaches him, and she still doesn't do quite as much as he does with tiny movements. (and to be fair, Bumi is a master that's over a hundred years old, while Toph is 12 or 13, and has learned most of her practical skills either in solitude with the badger-moles or fighting in the ring; arguably a lot of her skills in less combat-centered stuff or finer details in Earthbending philosophy are learned more gradually on the road, and we DO see her doing subtle things like pulling metal around herself in a single movement, making her a very noticable example of this phenomenon.)
However, this begs a question; what does this say about Ozai?
He is very explicitly stated to be the most powerful Firebender in the world; he is very much not the wisest, nor does he really seem able to understand the fine details in Firebending or the control required; both Zuko and Azula perform feats he doesn't seem interested in doing at all, or learning, whether from Azula's fine precision allowing her to produce intensely burning blue fires, or Zuko's skill in doing stuff like manipulating existing fire with less effort and same results as producing it himself.
Its hard to get a grasp on his actual skills because we only see him Firebending a few times (one off-screen when he burns Zuko, another when he generates lightning almost instantly in Day of Black Sun) before the finale, where he is incredibly powerful but explicitly has his power amplified, so the best we can judge is comparing him to other Firebenders who do the same thing. Notably, Iroh seems to outclass him in sheer power (blasting through the walls of Ba Sing Se after a short time to power up, whereas Ozai's fleet fire blasts is not exclusively his doing), and while Ozai can use fire thrust to fly in a limited way that other Firebenders are not shown to do normally, Jeong-Jeong outdoes him here as well by hovering with his flames, achieving true flight and likely indicating a superior grasp on energy conservation, given how Ozai just blasts around, and not doing sustained attacks for the most part.
Bending, in AtLA, at its highest power is closely associated with wisdom and enlightenment. Ozai, on the other hand, is powerful but a staggeringly immature man-child whose vicious cruelty and lust for violence is only equaled by his complete incompetence when it comes to basic common sense. He's cruel, regards all non-compliance as insults on him, and regards his family as furniture whenever they're not actively serving his purposes. He is very much NOT wise.
But we also see him performing this same kind of effortless feat by constantly leaving fires burning in his throne room as a show of power. It's possible that this is standard for Fire Lords in general, or at least has become so since Sozin's time. So what does it say about him that he can do this effortlessly?
The first thought that occurs to me is that in his case, he might have achieved a strange kind of inverse enlightenment in being deliberately blind to anything except his own wants and ambitions. He's deliberately unaware of most things that the genuinely wise care about and can't conceive that he might be wrong or even be unsatisfied. This tracks with his ability to generate lightning, in that its required to be calm of mind, and yet both he and Azula show extreme rage when they feel insulted or have their dignity damaged, which doesn't seem consistent with what lightning bending requires according to Iroh. It might be that both Ozai and Azula, in their general lack of introspection, are superficially calm and are able to use lightning this way, but not as effectively as they MIGHT. A superficial, worldly power that seems mighty but ultimately is a sign of them being chained; a metaphor for everything wrong with the Fire Nation.
(Or in other words, he's achieved a poor man's version of enlightenment by being so goddamn childish and oblivious to any kind of actual insight that he's failed to have a mindset that's counter to Firebending despite lacking the wisdom to do that conventionally and he never noticed.)
The other idea is that the effortlessness he shows is also superficial.
Ozai is a very superficial person; he puts a lot of stock on appearances and doesn't think much about anything past that; by all indications, he was never particularly close to Zuko or showed much interest in him (and its quite likely the same applied to Azula, but his praise of her was interpreted as genuine pride when he honestly couldn't care less the second she was no longer making him look better by proxy), he just wasn't motivated to harm them.
Now, consider the possibility that while he is quite powerful, he's putting on a show to make himself look stronger. He makes it LOOK effortless, but he's going to a lot of trouble to put on a show. Now, this may not be likely (we see him doing a whole lot of powerful attacks in Sozin's Comet without much apparent effort, just a vicious glee) but it also tracks with his character to go to this kind of effort and put in a show just so people don't think he looks less than perfect, which also is a nice parallel to how Azula picked up that attitude.
It also nicely contrasts him against Aang, Iroh, the Air Nomad elders, and other genuinely wise characters who get embarrassed, look ridiculous, have pranks played on them, or get stuck in silly situations and they rarely care or even really acknowledge it. Wisdom, in AtLA, is heavily associated with characters who don't care if they look silly, while its characters like Ozai, Zuko and Azula whose violent defensiveness and hostility towards anyone threatening their pride are specifically framed as unwise, and even childish.
In this regard, Ozai mutilating his child over an act of disrespect by proxy lines up very well with that, and him constantly pushing himself to make a threatening image even when it needlessly tires him and doesn't serve any purpose beyond his own ego or frail fear that someone MIGHT not think he is the most badass thing ever.

About that spiral staircase myth
I saw a post on tumblr yesterday about the common misconception that medieval staircases spiral clockwise so that an attacker going up the stairs will have less space to swing their weapon due to the central pillar. I responded clarifying that this (very likely) was not the case but was asked to make a standalone post on it so this is that post (I'm also changing some information because I also got some details wrong in that response)
Disclaimer: I'm not a historian, my knowledge on the subject is based off of a blog post and my knowledge of medieval warfare from my high school history course on the Wars of the Roses and going to several castles. I'm primarily talking about castles in England and Wales but the things I'm saying are largely true throughout medieval Europe and I encourage people to give examples from other countries in the notes!
Firstly medieval staircases do NOT universally spiral clockwise, if it did provide a massive defensive boost then all spiral staircases would be clockwise. While the trend is for clockwise spirals, it's nowhere near universal (only about 70%), with several castles (such as caerphilly castle and the white tower in london) having both clockwise and counterclockwise. The spiral staircases were also not the only set of stairs in most castles, with them having internal stairs which were straight - or at least not as curved as spiral staircases. The purpose of the spiral staircase was mostly to get soldiers and supplies to and from the battlements; a potential attacker would be more likely to use the non-spiral staircases since they would be easier to climb
From a hand-to-hand combat perspective, the clockwise spiral staircase does not provide the defender with an advantage in combat. In melee combat the high ground is disadvantageous: you can reach much further up than you can down, and reaching down requires bending over, which in plate armour could risk your balance and would definitely make your head more exposed to attack. The placement of the walls and pillars also makes no difference, spiral staircases were either very spacious (such as in Colchester castle where the staircase's diameter was 5 metres (16ft)) which means there is very little concern for the walls or pillar while fighting, or very narrow (like the great tower of Goorich castle with only a diameter of 70cm (2.5ft)) where both parties will have to worry about hitting the wall or pillar either during the swing or recovery from it.
Most importantly, however is the fact that in the medieval period, knights did not fight within castles, and castles were not built with the expectation of knights fighting within them, with some castles even being built with no siege-readiness at all. In the next paragraph I will be talking purely about castles which were designed to be defended (such as a lot of the castles built during the conquest of Wales) but do note that a lot of them were not and were designed to house local nobility or for a government purpose like a courthouse or a prison.
A castle's role in combat was to be a safe place for an army to rest and re-supply, and typically if there was an attacking army approaching the castle the defenders would leave the castle and fight them head on in pitched combat. If they did not there would be a siege, where the attackers cut off the supply line to the castle and wait for either the defenders to surrender (due to starvation or negotiation), or for the defences to be breached with a siege weapon or through sabotage. Once attackers are within the castle the battle has been lost for the defenders as their defences are overrun. So this is why the interiors of castles were not designed to be defendable, as it's a futile effort.
And finally to talk about the history of the claim: no medieval sources have said that they did clockwise spirals for this purpose. To be fair this is largely because the people who built and designed castles typically could not read or write, but the point still stands that the claim that the spiral staircases were clockwise for this purpose is not supported by history. The earliest written example of this is in a 1902 architecture history book by Theodore Cook. Cook, being interested in fencing, saw clockwise spiral staircases and observed that it would be difficult to fence when going upstairs in a clockwise spiral, and concluded that this is why medieval castles use them.
This is part of the trend of Victorian historians asserting their assumptions of history as fact (as well as inventing facts of their own to add to the spectacle or intrigue of the past - you have them to thank for the myth that Vikings had horned helmets and that Columbus was trying to disprove that the earth was flat, not even beginning to touch on their views towards non-white culture and history), as well as the military-first view of castle designs. This myth has largely stuck around since there's very little evidence to propose an alternate reason for the particular direction of spiral staircases (as an aside: my personal assumption is that they made the staircases go in whatever direction made it best line up with the floors of the castle).
In summary, since spiral staircases aren't universally clockwise, are impractical to fight on for the defenders as well as the attackers, and would not have been fought on anyways due to the nature of castle warfare, the consensus is that spiral staircases did not spiral clockwise in order to give defenders an advantage.

What if Unordinary Characters were from the Avatar world?
Just because. Based on their Abilities :P
John, Sera, Blyke, Isen, Remi, Arlo, William, not exactly on that order.
I'm looking for friends who like Unordinary so if you wanna talk just comment so and I'll reach out, or you can reach out!
Blyke
If for Ability alone, I think Blyke would be a fire bender. Mostly because of the Specialized Technique of Combustion Bending or whatever it's called, I think it's extremely similar to the beans he shots on the series. On additional note, he has red hair lol.
Isen
Now Isen was kind of a hard one. No where near Sera and John type of hard— but still hard. Now becomes clear he'd be a Earth Bender. Like Toph, I belive Isen would end up learning to locate himself by his feet, and feel If people are lying through hearing/feeling their hearts (Seismic Sense). Because of the nature of Tracking I think it's a pretty good fit.
Remi
Remi also quite easy to pin point, she'd be a Fire Bender specialized in lighting. Generation and Redirection of lighting, thought she is a Fire bender she almost never would use fire bending on itself. Same thing would go for Rei.
Arlo
Arlo could easily be a Air Bender or a Earth Bender. I was thinking Air Bender because of the way he Uses his barrier, heavely depending in Recoil Damage and using it to squeeze others inside of it. But also Earth bending because of his passive and how John came to use his barrier in some fights. I mostly think he'd lean to Air bending thought.
John
He's either the avatar or an Air bender and you know It! Him being the Avatar is quite obvious, so let me explain why I think he'd be an Air Bender— is the one element that can easily pass for others.
If there's a fire Neary or He's fighting against a Fire bender, he can easily use the air to use that fire against them. Wouldn't be as nearly effective but it's possible. Same thing with water and earth. Someone throwing rocks at you? You can easily use air to throw it back. You see my point? Also the whole connection to the spirit world and how John has a much deeper understanding of aura than the rest.
Sera
I've got no f*cking idea actually. Sera's ability is the hardest one to Pin point what Element would it be. At first I considered water, seeing how she could rewind her injuries. But it didn't felt right. Fire and Earth are out of question. Air just doesn't really make sense. I'm at lost.
William H. Doe
This man is cleary a Non-Bender, HOWEVER, he's a master at Hand-in-Hand combat and he's a master at Chi-Blocking and YOU KNOW IT!! In the world of Avatar where Benders don't expect to suddenly be unable to bend, or move, this man's is a monster. Once he stops being a Pacifist it's over for you bitches! He definetly also Taught John all that he knows.

It's been said before how Sokka kinda learns a lot of different combat styles from different regions. I just think it would be neat if after the war he set out to be the Non Bender Avatar.
At first Katara was a bit confused, but by now she's learned that her brother just has ideas sometimes. She's willing to see this through. Aang is of course super supportive even if he doesn't get it. And thus, the journey begins.
First, he finally finishes his father's fighting lessons. He's a master of the boomerang and a fearsome Southern Warrior...but that's not all. With Aang's help they visit the Northern Water tribe. While the Avatar deals with some diplomatic business, Sokka asks to train with their warriors. Now he's a master of both southern and northern water tribe fighting style.
Next is Kyoshi island. Suki is really happy to see him there and more than gladly agrees to continue his training. He's no longer a silly little boy with narrow minded ideas. He's a man of the world, and he puts the work to learn their techniques. By the end of his training he's gifted his own fans and new friends, the rest of the warriors impressed by his dedication and amused by his humor.
On the mainland he finds different teachers, and a variety of styles. From Lucha libre-esque to more martial arts focused. He also learns how to handle quite a few weapons, the Bo staff becomes one of his favorites for its versatility.
The fire kingdom is home to so many great fighters he almost gives up. Obviously a culture so focused on war would nurture a talent for violence. The first one is both the easiest and the hardest. Zuko is his friend, so he's easy to convince. Tragically he also has many obligations and little time. Sokka makes it work, training under the blue spirit when the Fire Lord has some free time and continuing his lessons with Piandao. Even better Ty-Lee and Mai both visit the palace frequently so they're next. Ty-Lee's is probably the hardest one yet, the acrobatics a little too much. But with enough practice he finally obtains the flexibility and balance to pull it off.
The last one is the most difficult one. Not only are the Air nomads ostensibly pacifists but, well, there's only one left. Aang is sure that there must have been some fighting style of his people. No culture is a monolith and although everyone he knew was a pacifist, there must have been someone out there kicking ass air nomad style. After some studying and many dead ends they realize that the calm and meditative Tai chi the monks did at the temple was originally a martial art. Mixed in with some air bending moves and promising to only use it defensively, Sokka becomes the first air nomad martial artist in a very long time. It brings him and Aang even closer, being able to share his culture with someone else. Feeling like maybe it's not gonna end with him or his line.
At the end of the journey Katara just smiles, joining her brother and boyfriend in their taichi demonstration for the earth Kingdom and Fire Nation delegates. You truly did it she thinks to herself the Non bender Avatar.
Just, Sokka learning every fighting style and becoming a menace who just so happens to be best friends with the most powerful non benders in the world.

You recently mentioned that you believe most of Aang's success over Zuko and others in combat is due to the fact that no one in the modern day knows how to fight airbenders, and that, once the others get used to airbending, any other member of the team would make light work of non-avatar state Aang. Can I ask why you believe this?
I definitely think Aang benefits from the element of surprise, but at the same time, he was already considered an airbending master by the time he was frozen in the iceberg, and he's clearly had some form of combat training, so I'd imagine that, even without the element of surprise and locked to airbending, he'd still be a formidable opponent. His fight with Zuko on the beach in Sozin's Comet part 1 comes to mind.
I'm fairly certain I touched on it in the post you saw, but I might be confusing it with another post. We are TOLD Aang is a good bender, but not really SHOWN. With Katara, Toph and Zuko we see them practicing and innovating. Aang barely touches any other element besides air bending once he's "mastered" it. And this with the understanding that "mastery" in martial arts doesn't mean there's nothing else to learn. Also Aang isn't even that impressive with his own native bending form. Within the show we see more impressive examples of air bending than Aang does (or at least the aftermath). The problem with the show in general is that they are content with TELLING us how impressive everyone finds Aang without really demonstrating WHY. Everyone else levels up, and earns their level up. Aang just lucks into his. Aang is essentially that naturally talented kid on the sports team who thinks natural talent is enough and wonders why the guy who had to work much harder at it is the one who went pro.
Also, let's be so expeditiously for real. Zuko wasn't fighting at full strength on the beach.

I keep thinking of mistaken spirit. Specifically how weird and respectful Enji treats the Gaang. He sees them as children yet doesn't shy away from involving them in battle plans. He's said the doesn't want them on the battlefield but "I know I can't stop you from fighting, the most I can do is supervise." Where most adults have actively disregarded Sokka's plans, Enji takes every word he says seriously. Katara thought he was going to be like Pakku at first, but was swiftly proven wrong by Enji asking Katara to spar with him. "This could be a good opportunity to learn how to fight a firebender without the fear of death." Toph thinks he found a way around her truth detection, but no he genuinely sees them as worthy fighters. Aang knows he's not a spirit but appreciates his advice when he asked how to handle Ozai. He's scared of Suki, she knows Enji is smart because he knows who to fear. And yes out of everyone he's mostly scared of Ty Lee and Suki. No I refuse to elaborate.
YES.
Like.
He knows what teenagers are capable of. Even before the whole series' canon, he'd worked with a lot of interns/work study students that have been hella good, even if they're rough around the edges.
He also knows like. After Toya, he sees it in these kids. A determined Heroic Spirit that won't quit no matter how he tries to keep them out. And he's learned from how he handled Toya that if he bans them entirely, they'll go behind his back anyway. He'd much rather do what he can to make sure to mitigate the damage.
I think-
Okay so like. I think in terms of sparring matches, Enji would focus on both Katara and Toph. Katara notices this, and as she's used to sexism she assumes it's because they're girls and all.
Eventually this causes a fight but he does handle it well in the 'hold on i'm not good at picking up on anger/frustration and bad at explaining' thing. But he does explain that his reason for focusing on them is that they have zero backup options. Like. All the non-benders have both weapons and hand--to-hand combat skills. Zuko and Azula have both bending and combat(Zuko has swords, Azula knows more hand-to-hand). Aang is a touch lacking in combat, but he's got access to four elements so finding a way to nerf him is hard.
Katara and Toph, on the other hand, only have their Bending. And he's focusing on them because he's learned that there's various ways to negate Bending (Spirit Nonsense™, Chi Blocking, environmental factors, etc.). If something happens, they have no backup.
Re: Aang: I think that some of the changes may change this scenario? Like uh. In Canon part of the reason Aang had to take down Ozai was because the Avatar taking down the Fire Lord meant something. (Even Iroh kinda points this out of he'd have no issue killing Ozai at this point, but the world would see it as a power struggle between royals rather than the end of the war). With this AU, Enji kinda.... fixed that problem. Because 'The Fire Spirit' showed up and called Ozai a bitch ass fraud and not the rightful heir to the throne. So anyone can kill Ozai now.
Being scared of Suki is entirely reasonable actually. She can wreck you.
Being scared of Ty Lee is similar but different because of the Chi Blocking. Because it works on his Quirk and that freaks him the hell out.

The fun thing about putting my favorite Danganronpa characters into other universes is trying to translate all of what I consider the essential aspects of their characters into said universes, so as soon as I think "What if Avatar AU?", my first thought is "Ooh, which elements would everyone bend?" and my second thought is "I want Makoto to be the Avatar, but it's also essential that not only does he not know he's the Avatar, but no one else can know he's the Avatar either." Like, it's crucial that he start off underestimated and seemingly insignificant. But then, is it a mistake to give him an empirically provable physical power? Is there another way for being the Ultimate Hope to manifest in the Avatar world?
Maybe Makoto is actually born a non-bender, and Izuru Kamukura is the Avatar. Izuru was born Hajime Hinata, but the [Fire Nation or whichever group or power is the villain in this reality] finds out about him being the Avatar at a young age and kidnaps him in service of [leader of the villains] to train and fight, and he's renamed Izuru Kamukura and discouraged from having a social life or connecting to the spiritual aspects of being the Avatar; just the abilities which have an obvious military use. Meanwhile, Makoto is a non-bender, but he's very in touch with both the human and spiritual world. Maybe, if we're taking it all the way, Izuru is so conditioned to disconnect himself from spirituality that his body rejects the spirit of Raava (but keeps the ability to bend all four elements) and she goes to occupy Makoto instead, making Makoto the new Avatar and Izuru just an incredibly powerful bender. (Maybe the villains deliberately made Izuru reject Raava to make him more powerful as a weapon.)
This necessarily means that the conflict and contrast between Makoto and Izuru are central to the narrative, which is great because I can and will make anything Kamuegi.
All of the canon Ultimates definitely bend. Which elements? That can be a separate post.
Does Nagito bend? Is it truer to his character to make Nagito a non-bender who thinks lowly of non-benders, or a bender who thinks lowly of non-benders? I think I'll tentatively make him a non-bender who is incredibly competent in other ways that do not include any combat skills at all.
