companions in the game have agency and they won't blindly follow someone who goes against their ideals. if you're doing evil shit, half of them won't stick around. but half will!

I kept debating how to end this short little mini comic. In the original script, they were gonna hold hands (scandalous, I know lmfao), but I didn't think it hit quite right in comic format when I tried to make it longer. Hence why it ends... like that.

Anyways I wrote like a ton of comic scripts for COTL comics that just didn't hit right / I couldn't commit to making and then when driving home from work last week in the pitch darkness I thought about how nice it is to see like actual stars. And I feel like with the cult grounds being kind of among a lot of trees and all that it might take a short hike to get a really, really, really good view of the night sky and stuff. Thus. This.

It's arguably not my best work (I'm out of practice drawing good night skies and all that) but I'm happy with it. Enjoy this thing I made

do u guys ever think abt how the fandom blaming mabel and/or ford (this applies to other characters too but i mostly see it with them) for Everything is exactly what bill would’ve wanted. like it’s not his fault for tricking them, it’s their fault for falling for it

bill is the villain here - he’s the manipulator and the abuser and the one who wanted Bad Things To Happen. but somehow all the blame ends up falling on the shoulders of the people he used as unwitting pawns to achieve that goal

in fanfic & stuff i think a lot of this comes down to the fact that it’s easier to “punish” the human characters - they have loved ones and dreams and aspirations, and taking that away from them leads to more of an emotional impact than anything you could possibly do to bill. sure, you can kill him, send him to prison, make him do therapy, whatever, but he doesn’t have anything. there’s nothing you can take away from him that he hasn’t already taken from himself. as messed up as it is i think people just find it more satisfying to hurt someone who actually has a weak point, even if that person isn’t the one really at fault

anyways. idk i just think bill would really get a kick out of seeing people sympathize with him more than they do his victims

you can love a character and still admit when they're wrong. i love roshambogames but can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) & can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he’s never done anything wrong in his life) & call him out for his actions (which are always correct)

ever since she was a little girl, aiyla dreamed of taking piano lessons. it wasn't a luxury her single mother of two could afford back then. now, her mother was happily remarried to a man that could provide such luxuries; the bonus being that they didn't even have to hire someone as he had offered to teach her himself. it had only been a few months but, aiyla was starting to get the hang of it. she could read sheet music well, and match notes to keys, and was slowly learning when to press the sustain pedal... but, in that time, aiyla had also learned that her step-father was a very hands on teacher. the brunette would never admit it, but every time his fingers grazed hers it gave aiyla these almost nauseating butterflies. she also tried desperately to ignore the way his thigh resting against hers made her mind go fuzzy, or how the tone of his voice when he complimented her would send warmth pooling between her legs.... but aiyla always believed that it was just nerves. the driving and incredible need to impress him and make him proud.
