there’s something extremely extremely creepy about taking an actor that you have known since they were 13 years old, only JUST a teenager, and making them kiss a fully grown woman the second that they turned a legal adult.
Steve Blackman already has a ton of shit out against him which came out recently so it unfortunately doesn’t surprise me that he would write something like this but it makes me genuinely concerned for everything behind the scenes.
There has been a HUGE problem in the Umbrella Academy fandom since season ONE when Aidan was a 13-14 year old of people writing insanely disgusting stuff and defending it because his character was mentally an adult but oh my god did they make it worse. You’d think they’d protect actor & character by avoiding any romantic interaction but instead you have him kiss an actress 15 years older than him. The age gap being the age that he was when they filmed season two. Quite honestly I feel that if he could’ve done this seasons previously and gotten away with it then he definitely would’ve done it, given the jokes that are actively made.
Quite honestly may Steve Blackman never work again if this is how he treats his actors because this is awful. I’m not even done with the season but that gave me very little desire to continue and this show has been important to me in ways I can’t explain. Maybe I am blowing this out of proportion but it feels so insanely creepy and horrific to me and I needed to rant.

it is beyond infuriating how anne rice seems to insist on marius being a positive force in anyone's life ever. like she can't fully commit to exploring the fact he groomed armand and has repeatedly taken away his consent for what marius thinks is best (take the end of TVA as an example) and just kind of flatly puts it in the narrative. there's not really much interest in how these horrific events make marius come across as the worst because EVERYONE loves him. for gods sake, lestat learns from armand exactly what marius did to him in TVL and then proceeds to go find marius and be super friendly to him in the same fucking book. even armand and pandora, two of the people who have MORE than enough right to hate him, do not. it doesnt feel like shes trying to explore the toxicity of the abusive dynamic he traps them in, it just is there. and like yeah ofc the toxic vampire romance series but i think that this should be handled with more care. and it is not ever really framed in a way that she is interested in exploring how marius should easily be one of the most horrific characters in this series because it kind of feels like sa/rape/grooming/other things of that sort are just put there to further plot and not to really get the respect that they deserve in a medium.

10/10 manga for pulling a “we’ll defeat you with the power of friendship!!” “That’s… incredibly ignorant of you. I’m significantly more powerful, whether or not you have friends won’t impact this fight”
#this IS the best manga I stand by that forever#I know I vaguepost about it every few months but it just. keeps getting better#I am so emotionally invested in this#[spoiler]’s really out here being like “you fools. I am all powerful. Your group of like 8 friends cannot harm me”#He is genuinely such an interesting and compelling character#Such a unique character#honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen a character like him in any media#Admittedly he’s not my favorite character. Not even my favorite in this manga.#But he’s just so strikingly unique#Just. The whole character progression of bullied outcast with a heart of gold —>dead(?)—> jk not really—>minor antagonist—> main antagonist#And you absolutely never see it coming#Because when he’s reintroduced as a minor antagonist you’re like “oh that’s interesting. That’s an interesting little twist”#And then as the story progresses and things become more and more intense#And suddenly HE’S the one who’s hunting the protagonists HE’S the one who’s actively trying to kill them#For those unfamiliar with this I feel like it’s important to clarify there was never some betrayal twist#As in he was genuinely a really good person at the start#And it’s a very very gradual shift#Because even when he’s reintroduced as an antagonist it’s all very understandable on his end#He’s a good guy he’s been through a lot but is making the best of his circumstances#Until he isn’t until things go too far#Just auuughh it;s so good

I really really REALLY think the story would have been stronger without august and day’s mom tbh. Actually even tho I didn’t like the august sub plot I can see how it made sense to help bridge the gap between day’s seeing life and his new blind life. But his mom? She wasn’t necessarily the one who kept him cooped up in his room for a year, I mean she didn’t help but day was also doing it to himself. Now in ep 10 tho she absolutely put him on house arrest and I’m really not happy about that. This is kind of all over the place but the point is, so far she hasn’t been that important to the plot and doing this whole failed-at-best eye transplant bullshit just for her to come to terms with his blindness is just. What the fuck. Everything that happened up until this point could have happened whether she was present or not. I guess night wouldn’t have been so parentified and glass child-ed (? lol) but honestly that shit was hard to watch so I could have done without it. Day and night could absolutely still have had one-sided beef regardless of her presence in their lives. She could have died prior to the accident and the bulk of the story would be the same obviously aside from this eye donation plot and GOD I wish that were the case. Ok yes and there would be no one to oppose mhok but that’s also like. Not necessary?? The point of the show (thus far) was accepting and adapting to a new way of life and grieving and love helping you find your way out of the dark and miss girl did not have to be there for any of that…. I guess I just have a tendency to sentence characters I don’t enjoy to permanent and retroactive removal from my screen lmao but we REALLLLLY did not need to go down this eye transplant road for the fucking mom’s character development and that’s the BEST case scenario!!!!! If it works then there was no point in going up that mountain at all and what the fuck was the point of any of it really?
#look everyone in my life knows how much I love this show and how important it is to me#but the story could have been so much stronger and cleaner if it focused tighter on day AND MHOK with a side serving of beefing brothers#and also porjai. she’s so important.#but mhok could have had so much more development like he is literally my most favorite character from any piece of media right now and maybe#that’s just bc I’m infatuated with jimmy lmao it remains to be seen but I do feel like we could have gotten so much deeper into him as a#character. We saw the beginning, now I be thinking about all the possible...uhh the word is like aftermath...epilogues? Seeing as the narrative will be left open ended, we can hypothesize and fantasize just about anything!
This one is Harvey carrying on with what he idealized as a normal life, getting married, having kids, going out with the boys, stuff you see on TV. But Cammy is still there, still a part of his life. And that's pretty neat. And also I cry.
#i went on a spree yesterday with a bunch of aftermathematics that made me cry myself to sleep#because no matter what. every single end. cammy will outlive harvey. every thing in between can be different#cammy leaving. cammy staying. reluctance. romance. etc etc. cammy will live on without harvey. and it will hurt them. a lot.#it hurts me a lot. im still crying over 'thank you for keeping me in your life'#cammy could be living in the garden until the very end. either of harveys life. or the tree they took care ofs life.#maybe cammy leaves but visits from time to time. or maybe they visit right before harvey kicks the bucket#who knows! thinking about anything past the narrative makes me cry#because we dont see that in media. we always get the good ending but that is never the end. what happens afterwards?#cause grow as we go's narrative ends after harvey finally reunites with his family in the philippines and decides#i want to stay at my house and take care of my garden. ill be sure to visit every year from now on.#and the credits would roll as him and cammy travel back. on the plane. the taxi ride. harvey getting the key in the door.#harvey putting cammy in the little makeshift bed he made. and him looking out the window of his room down at the garden. him smiling#and then it says end. thank you for watching. this took fourty two years to make oopsie whoops#god i go on long rants when its late. anywho compare to last time i made a possible ending#cammy reluctantly leaving as they both start to fall in love with each other#cammy willingly running away knowing harvey will heal from this and move on and be normal#this one here theres no leaving. there is no normal. its just living dude#grow as we go#sketches#harvey#camellia

most appealing part of the inhumans is that theyre all middle aged with back pain
#the comfort of a group of characters ostracized for their differences but still finding happiness and love and companionship and home#gorgon having chronic pain maximus having neglected mental illness bb and triton struggling to socialize after being raised outside society#medusa taking on so much responsibility that even her loved ones start to slowly neglect her needs assuming she can handle it all#i was looking at some uncanny inhumans art and now im in a mood over 50yo blackagar .#this probably applies more to me than People In General but like. the royal family as a whole r extremely comforting to me#bc they r characters that like. i can see parts of myself in that i havent ever found in other media before#like i have a bad back! and bad joints and mobility issues sometimes! and it hurts all the time!#and i know a chronically ill character isnt like. IMPOSSIBLE to find but it still means a lot to me that they bring gorgon's pain up#and how maximus' completely ignored and silenced mental health struggles really fucked him up for like his entire life#and how bb and triton being raised almost completely removed from society and only interacting with family members until they were adults#affected their socialization skills a LOT#like these are all things i can find and like. actually see myself there. its nice to not feel completely detached from everyone else#bc growing up these r things i did not see. ever. there r so many parts of me that i thought everyone experienced and. they dont!#i have no idea where im going with this its just. these inhumans r people. and i see them. and it means something to me.#inhumans

unfortunately i was referring to physical files. As of late ive realized i seem to have a more.. specific way of organizing my own documents that doesnt seem to catch on in departments on the lower levels which tends to lead to my inability to find the specific files I need to check. And overall contributes to my frustration with my subordinates in that department.

maxverstappen1: i've seen a lot of journalists and 'professionals' trying to point score with the 'big revelation' of my daughter. sydney is the love of my life and for someone who grew up in the public eye i thought it would be best to keep my daughter away from the circus. not that i owe it to any of you people, but i see syd as much as i possibly can and i didn't want to post her or bring her to the paddock until she could make that choice for herself. y/n is a wonderful mother and is the exact support system i would want for my daughter.

#I am being just a little insane and maybe I should stop saying that but whatever#it’s fine :/ just. mildly upset#so the guy. we have ice hockey twice this week and I couldn’t make last night bc of presentation this morning#so I was Dumb and asked my friend to get him to help out bc we were gonna be rlly short on people and also to try get his Instagram#if he gets the chance. (the important part. I would like to talk to the guy.)#bc it’s the last week we’re doing it this year so I wasn’t sure if he’d be coming on Friday#and turns out he isn’t! and my friend also did everything except get his instagram#which is fine and I’m not annoyed at him bc last night was Hell I am just. :////#so that’s it this year!#I’ll see him next year and it’s fine it’s just frustrating that i missed last night for this dumb presentation that didn’t even go that well#it was too quick and I had questions I was completely unprepared for but it’s fine it’s done#agrhrbdhjd. it’s fine it’s out of my hands now unless he shows up on Friday anyway#it’s just hard bc he’s taken the Me approach to social media and made himself incredibly hard to find#and also doesn’t seem to follow anyone from uni so there are no mutual friends that I could conceivably be like. oh yeah you just showed up!#hi!!#(bc I’ve obviously already found it I just can’t like. do that. it feels like it’s against the rules and I’m not 100% that it’s him anyway)#anyway I now have to deal with a bunch of the fallout from last night bc people got very drunk before it (why nobody showed up) and so much!#so much happened!#it’s whatever it’s fine today will be good and Friday will be good anyway bc I’m enjoying ice hockey again so I just gotta like#shelve this whole thing until the new year. which I can do :/#only possible way anything could happen is if when I send out the stuff abt new committee he sends a message or smth but that’s.#such a long shot and I’m being insane so#probably for the best! will just talk to the guy next year I’m gonna stop now.#there’s no rush it just sucks this time#luke.txt
