Unpopular Alucard Headcanons 🦇

🦇 His heartbeat is unnaturally slow

Being a dhampir, his body doesn’t function like a human’s. His heart beats maybe once every few minutes, and when he meditates or sleeps deeply, it slows to an almost undetectable level. This makes it easy for people to mistake him for dead if they don’t know better.

🦇 Despite his regal demeanor, he can be incredibly stubborn

He gets this from both of his parents. While he is generally composed, he can be surprisingly headstrong when he believes he is right.

🦇 He secretly enjoys being around people but isolates himself out of guilt

While many see him as a lone figure, he actually enjoys companionship but feels unworthy of it due to his lineage and the weight of his past.

🦇 He sometimes forgets what his own voice sounds like

Spending long periods alone in the castle means Alucard can go days, weeks, or even months without speaking. Sometimes, when he finally does, his voice comes out quieter than expected, or he startles himself by how deep it is.

🦇 He has never truly celebrated his birthday

While he knows the day he was born, it has never been a day of joy for him. His mother may have marked the occasion with warmth, but after her death, he stopped acknowledging it altogether. He wonders if Dracula ever remembered.

🦇 He used to sing as a child but no longer does

Lisa encouraged him to sing when he was young, and his voice was light and pure. However, after losing his mother, he never found the heart to sing again. He still hums absentmindedly when lost in thought, though he never realizes he’s doing it.

🦇 His laugh is rare, but it's hauntingly beautiful

Alucard rarely laughs, but when he does, it’s light and musical, almost as if he’s forgotten how to express joy. It has an eerie, mesmerizing quality, as if for just a moment, the weight of centuries is lifted from his shoulders.

🦇 He doesn’t need to breathe, but he does anyway

His body doesn’t require oxygen in the same way humans do, but he still breathes out of habit. If he concentrates, he can go completely still, like a statue, for days without any movement.

🦇 His presence subtly affects the environment

When he walks into a room, candles flicker. The air gets cooler when he’s deep in thought. Even when he’s not using magic, something about him bends the space around him slightly, like reality itself acknowledges his unnatural nature.

🦇 His eyes glow in the dark

In dim lighting, his golden eyes reflect ambient light like a predator’s, making them glow faintly. In absolute darkness, they shimmer unnaturally, giving him an almost spectral appearance. It’s one of the reasons he avoids letting people see him at night.

🦇 He sleeps curled up, like a child

When he sleeps, especially during moments of vulnerability, he instinctively curls in on himself, as if trying to protect himself from something unseen.

🦇 He doesn’t hate his father—but he cannot forgive him either

Despite everything, Alucard still loves his father in a complicated, painful way. He understands Dracula’s grief, but he cannot forgive the destruction he caused.

🦇 He doesn’t like killing, but he is terrifying when he does

Unlike his father, Alucard does not take joy in battle. He fights with precision and restraint, but when truly enraged, he unleashes a level of destruction that unsettles even himself.

🦇 He is both afraid of and drawn to the idea of companionship

He craves connection but fears what it could mean. He has lost everyone he has ever cared for—what if he loses them again? What if he is meant to be alone forever?

🦇 He has considered letting himself die

The thought has crossed his mind more than once. The idea of fading away, of ending the lonely existence he has been trapped in. But something, some tiny ember of his mother’s voice, always tells him to keep going.

Whether it’s anger, grief, or overwhelming sorrow, his body betrays him in subtle ways. His fingers tremble, his breath hitches, and for a brief moment, the composed prince looks like a lost boy.

His sense of smell isn’t just sharp—it’s supernatural. He can pick up traces of emotions like fear, anger, or sorrow as subtle shifts in scent, which is why he’s eerily good at reading people even when they try to hide their true feelings.

🦇 He wonders what his mother would think of him now

More than anything, he wishes Lisa could see him—not just as the boy she raised, but as the man he has become. Would she be proud? Would she be sad? He will never know, and that is perhaps the greatest tragedy of all.

Relationship Headcanons for Mizu

A note on gender and sexuality: I use she/her pronouns for Mizu but I think her actual gender is "it's complicated". The show's creators have intentionally left her gender open to interpretation, which I think was wise. Any headcanons you want to have about this are valid. For myself, I think that it would in any case be difficult to impose any categories that we normally would given that she's living in a very different place and time, and from what I've read Edo period Japan had a unique approach to gender. That said, we have much less information about what AFAB people were getting up to than AMAB, so there's room for theorizing.

It's also worth noting that their approach to sexuality seems to have been, as in many other places in pre-modern times, to consider things in terms of acts people may or may not choose to engage in rather than in terms of overall personal identity. So all gender questions aside, I think as of the end of Season 1 we have incomplete information about what Mizu may or may not be partial to, so again pretty much anything you want to imagine for her is valid. Which is the long way of saying that the reader here can be any gender.

A relationship with Mizu is not going to happen quickly or easily, and if it happens at all, it's unlikely to be casual. She's had her trust broken again and again, she has secrets to keep, and she's laser-focused on her goals. You'd have to be a well-proven friend before she'd even consider anything more.

2. If you did manage to get that close to her, she'd defend you with her life. She knows exactly how dangerous the path she's on can be, and she values the few people she cares about above all else.

3. Getting her to open up would be a project. As a rule she talks very little. Once you're together she remains taciturn in public but would be freer with you during alone time.

4. Be prepared to make sure she's getting enough sleep and taking care of whatever injuries she's healing from. She tends to just power through pain, which works beautifully right up until it doesn't. She's also a light sleeper, something she's had to train herself to be for safety while traveling alone. Having you there to reassure her that all is well will help her get back to sleep more easily.

5. She'll have trouble believing you really find her attractive until you're an established couple, and even then she'll have many moments of doubt. She's used to being considered monstrous by everyone and it will not be easy for her to see herself through your eyes.

6. Patience is one of the greatest gifts you can give to her. She knows she can be a prickly, difficult person after everything she's been through. Knowing that she can count on having you in her corner no matter what is everything to her.

7. Your reward for that patience is that you see a side of her that nobody else ever does, and she looks at you in a way she never looks at anyone else. Her eyes soften. For you, she smiles more. You've heard her laugh -- really laugh, not the sardonic chuckle most people have experienced. When she's alone with you, she feels like more than a weapon, more than a vow. Sometimes, when you're in each others' arms, she can imagine a life after revenge. Someday, she'll complete her task. She doesn't know what she'll do after that happens, but whatever it is, she wants you there for it, always.

Unpopular headcanons? I'll go first: One of my unpopular headcanons is that Sharp and Rookwood are both at least in their mid 40s. It seems obvious to me by looking at them, but a lot of people seem to want to make them younger for some reason.

Kinda unpopular opinion well more like headcanon but I like to think that James Sirius Potter is actually pretty studious. He cares aa lot about his grades and school. Hes kinda like a mini Percy Weasley and doesn't live up to his name AT ALL. In fact, he was told so much as a child that he'll be a big prankster like both his namesakes that he eventually got tired of it and decided he's gonna to the exact opposite of what he's been told his entire life. And while I'm at it. I'd like to change his name to Freddy Sirius Potter. There is absolutely nothing wrong with naming your kid after your dead parents that you never knew and the one person who took care of you but this is Harry and Ginny's first child and I think that Ginny would've wanted to have a hand in naming him. I get that George named his kid Fred but you can name 'reuse' names. My mom, her cousin, my cousin, and some sort of second cousin( idk what that even is but whatever) all have the same name. I might as well continue not that I'm at it.

I really did like Albus's name so we aren't changing it.

Lily Luna. Why Luna? I love her and all but she and Harry were barley close AT ALL! And I kind of don't remember her being like Ginny's absolute best friend. I would've preferred Ruby Molly Potter. Ruby after Hagrid because that man barley gets enough love or thanks. And again, I understand you want to name your daughter after you mother but Molly was more of a mother to Harry than Lily ( since you know, Lily wasn't even there) AND she's Ginny's mother.

And of course, they don't have to be named after anybody! They could've just been given names like Oscar, Jacob, and Emily -_-.

idk if this is considered an unpopular opinion but I hate when I see fics on Azula redemption or Zuko's reign and it's written in a way that makes it seem like the Fire Nation hates Azula. Azula was the pride of the Fire Nation and royalty, the Fire Nation wouldn't have hated her. If anything, they would've felt like it was some sort of injustice that Azula was removed from the throne. Y'all have to remember that Zuko was seen as a traitor of the Fire Nation. If anything, people would've hated HIM in the beginning and even towards the middle of his reign.

Deconstructing colonialism takes a long time. Truth be told is would take DECADES for the Fire Nation to dislike Azula and even after decades, she probably would still be socially acknowledged for her prowess and dedication to the Fire Nation by many.

It would go something like this:

"Yeah, Azula capturing Ba Sing Se was bad, but you can't lie, she did in 3 days what General Iroh tried to do in 600. That's fucking amazing."

That's how people talk about some conquerors now, why wouldn't they talk about them like that in ATLA?

NOTE: I’m going to quote one of the clues you find in Escape the Ministry below, so if you haven’t played the game yet, stop here to avoid the (admittedly minor) spoiler.

So in the game, the note on Papa III’s statue says that “The Clergy determined that he had not been staying true to The Path.” I’ve seen people here and there taking for granted that this is the truth. I want to suggest that the surviving leadership, as directed by Sister Imperator, is not necessarily a reliable narrator.

It’s worth remembering that the winners write the history books. It’s also worth remembering that institutions, even ones that are supposed to be freedom-loving like Unholy Church, need to come up with justifications for their actions to keep their membership in line.

I believe that Sister Imperator disliked Terzo for personal reasons. I think he reminded her way too much of what Nihil was like in his youth. I also think we have sufficient evidence now that Copia is her son, and therefore she favored him and resented anything that might impede his rise.

I don’t think we have any solid evidence that Terzo strayed from the path whatsoever. Did he fail to spread the message far and wide? His album won a Grammy. Ghost’s audience grew dramatically during his tenure. It’s not like he wasn’t gaining converts to the cause.

There was likely a faction within the Church that felt he was too frivolous. That doesn’t mean they were correct. There’s more than one way to embrace the tenets of the Church, and more than one way to spread the message. There’s plenty of evidence that his approach was winning hearts and minds.

I would also argue that demanding that the Church should adhere to One True Way goes against everything it’s meant to stand for. It seems to me that the powers behind the throne are only interested in perpetuating their own power, as such people so often are.

Anyway, this all a long-winded way to say we shouldn’t believe everything we read in the lore. Consider the source.

Headcanon that Jason straight up has friend crushes on people (cmon we've all had friend crushes before). Like he'd spend all day and all night to befriend someone and would try every possible thing ever. He'd be extra helpful towards them, going out of his way to help with giving them their lunches, passing their plate to them, helping them with their training, etc

Girls at camp would be ECSTATIC and think that Jason is into them romantically or something but nope. He just has an agressive friend crush, like pls just be his friend he's such a cutie patootie 🥹

On the topic of new ghouls, I have a little bit of a 'hear me out' for the new ghoulette's name so . . . hear me out:

Nike

As in winged victory, Nike. No not the shoe company. Yes, this one:

Nike in mythology was the winged goddess of victory, daughter of Pallas and Styx (the infernal River Styx, if you will). Not only does she represent victory and triumph in war, but in all things---a "mediator of success between gods and men" [x].

If you've seen any clips of (who we presume to be) the unmasked ghoulette, you've seen that she's a powerhouse of a vocalist, very strong in her technique. Nike is often depicted in flight, or preparing to, which lends itself to the element (or one of the elements) attributed to her as a vocalist in the context of Ghost, which is air. Melodies and harmonies soaring above. She's also, from what I can tell, the other ghoulette opposite Aurora with the big skeleton bat wings.

In a way, the choosing of ghouls is always a competition, but a friendly, peaceful one, which Nike heralds. Cumulus, her predecessor, most likely would not see her as a threat, but a worthy opponent. If it's true that this ghoulette is replacing her, we'll all have our own headcanons as to why Lus chose not to tour. But to be able to summon and/or mentor someone as skilled and dedicated as she, is a victory for her as well.

The goddess Nike is often depicted as carrying a palm branch or laurel wreath, symbolically bringing and carrying victory to others [x].

With the beginning of a brand new era, she brings with her that symbol of triumph and prosperity, even when the rest of the band is widely succesful before her. But it is the first appearance of Papa V, Perpetua, so maybe this ghoulette brings just that extra shred of confidence and luck along with the rest.

Cumulus: She's a strong one. I think she should have a name to match.

I know there have been some names tossed around here and there, Tempest and Nimbus being two I've seen a lot. And I'm still a proponent of waiting until we know and have seen more about her. How she acts, interacts. What her presence as a whole is like. Not that name determines these factors, but it is how we as a fandom have (mostly) been operating all these years.

I'd love to have a more open conversation than the last time new ghouls were introduced. Yes, it came as a shock to lose Sunshine and Aether (him especially so, since we had more of an understanding of the unmasked Sunshine's plans prior to the Re-Imperatour), so there was some scrambling there. But the Skeletour is still about a month away, with the release of Skeleta even further than that. Some people want to talk about it now, some people don't, and I understand both. I'm just throwing something out there, as I haven't felt super strongly about any particular name until I thought about this one!

im having a lot of thoughts today so i'm making it everyone else's problem sharing it with y'all but i keep thinking about how so much of rodney's character SCREAMS deeply closeted gay man??

like i think rodney's main issue in life (aside from being a genius child prodigy in a public high school in the 80s bc let's be real that wouldve Done Numbers on his mental state) is he Does Not Know the difference between Admiration and Attraction

when he sees a woman he admires and looks up to he assumes it has to be attraction, and Men are Supposed To Act a certain way around women, so he tries to do that and of course it fails horribly bc one- his idea of how to act around women is founded in extreme amounts of sexism and two- he's not actually attracted to them and is doing a terrible mimicry at it

like when you look at how he acts around sam, for example. everyone has seen that gif set of sam saying she hates him and rodney thinking they're flirting (which totally sells the idea to me that rodney has mostly if not exclusively had hate sex)(and also that his parents hated each other and fought constantly so that's his only example of "romance") right and we've all also seen that gif set of rodney admitting he's jealous of sam because she's brilliant and i think when you take those two conversations and put them side by side it's really easy to see a man who Is Not Attracted To Women but doesn't know how to act around them except through attraction so he takes all of these criticisms and anger towards him and assumes it has to be flirting because that's what men and women are supposed to do, you yell and scream at each other then have sex about it then do it all over again.

and on the flip side, i think when he sees a man he's attracted to, he assumes it Has To Be admiration because he thinks that's the only way he's allowed to feel towards other men (that or jealousy, which we also see a lot of) so instead of just having a crush on someone he feels the need to defend why they're so cool and amazing and perfect and wonderful because they HAVE TO BE because if they're not why else would rodney "admire" them or be jealous of them?

and i think this HEAVILY plays into how rodney sees john. rodney can't fathom his feelings for john as attraction which means it HAS to be admiration/jealousy and we do see that very often, ESPECIALLY around women. rodney looooooves to bitch about how john gets all the women but when rodney does have a woman actually interested and trying to pursue him he freezes up and stumbles and has no idea what to do or where to go (see: the brotherhood and inferno) rodney constantly goes off about how cool and suave and charming and a ladies man john is and those of us who have eyes and ears are very aware that john is None Of Those Things, and i think rodney's insistence that he is comes from the fact that rodney cannot comprehend that what he feels is attraction and because of his own deeply rooted internalized homophobia he NEEDS john to be this Prime Example of Male Perfection because why else is rodney obsessed with him? why else does rodney want to be around him all the time? if johns not this perfect example of a man, what does that say about rodney and his desire to always be with john?
