A maybe odd question I thought of- say you have a cat named Rabbitpaw, and they lose most of their tail (leaving a pom-pom, basically). In that case, could they get away with Rabbittail as an injury based warrior name, since their tail became 'rabbit-like'?
It'd definitely be worthy of a nickname (oh my god, just imagine the delight dawning on a RiverClanner's face as soon as they hear their name and see their tail), but unfortunately it'd have to stay a nickname. Damage names are meant to be direct and literal - you hear "Rabbittail" and you think of a brown cat who's good at climbing, not a cat who has a rabbit-like tail. Stumptail, Notail, Missingtail are all much better in a warrior's eyes.

That one pet whump trope where Whumpee is renamed by Whumper to something probably cute or just plain stupid, and Whumpee clings to their real name to at least keep a bit of their true identity, but then they end up slowly forgetting their real name over time, and once they finally do they panick about it.
And then maybe Whumpee has been conditioned for so long that Whumper is able to convince them that their name was always whatever they’d named Whumpee.
THATS some good shit right there.

Ok
So not to sound insensitive, and I really hope no one takes this the wrong way,
But if a single more person, who’s trans, gender neutral or whatever, and is changing their name: if one more of you calls yourself ‘River’ I’m going to scream. BE CREATIVE(to an extent) I NOW HAVE 9 FRIENDS CALLED RIVER
DO YOU KNOW HOW CONFUSING THAT GETS

Toronto City Council voted on a motion Friday afternoon, to rename Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke after former mayor Rob Ford, reversing course over a similar vote in 2017. Several councillor’s questioned whether it was appropriate to name a municipal asset after Ford, citing his many scandals while in office and the manner in which he portrayed civil servants. Etobicoke Lakeshore Councillor Amber Morley attempted to slow the process down, urging fellow members to support her motion seeking more public consultation in order to follow the city’s standards for naming city assets.

Been rereading Annihilation more closely for book club, and some quotes that stand out to me in light of recent bullshit (attempts to rename the gulf of mexico)
"Always, as I looked back, I could see that there had been an almost willful intent to obscure, to misdirect, disguised as concern that we not be frightened or overwhelmed.
The map had been the first form of misdirection, for what was a map but a way of emphasizing some things and making others invisible? Always, we were directed to the map, to memorizing the details on the map.
...
We became so comfortable with that map, with the dimensions of it, and the thought of what it contained that it stopped us from asking why or even what."

My boredom led me to odd places so here you go, my in-depth renaming of each SKZ member with feminine names.
I say in-depth but this was the result of trying not to fall asleep during a lecture so this is based on their real names alone and not the why or how each got the name they did.
Bang Chan- Bahng Christina (Chrissie) (couldn't figure out the whole Chahn thing so I left it out)
Lee Know- Lee Minseo
Changbin- Seo Chawon
Hyunjin- Hwang Hyunjung
Han- Han Jisu
Felix- Lee Felicia
Seungmin- Kim Seungmin (hear me out, his name is technically gender neutral, but typically masculine, but his English name is Sky, which is typically feminine.)
I.N.- Yang Jimin

What led to Alderfur's name change to Raggedpelt?
And while I'm here, what specific injuries led to the others? I know you've said before about a couple (Crookedstar being hit by a car and Deadfoot running too fast when his paw got caught) but how did the others get injured?
Might as well masterlist this so I can just direct people to an easy-to-find ask. Original names here.
One-eye lost her eye in a very gnarly accident with some brambles. It was removed altogether by paw when it started getting infected.
Halftail lost half of his tail to a badger.
Brokenstar was born with a bent tail and chose to be named for it when he became an apprentice.
Raggedstar was alone when he got horribly beaten up by a group of rogues, and a good chunk of his fur never grew back. He joked about being called Raggedpelt, thought about it, and decided he wanted to be named that.
Clawedface was training with an apprentice when the apprentice accidentally clawed his face deep enough to leave scars. ShadowClan finds this darkly funny.
Stumptail had his tail severed by a human machine in the Aulmir.
Deadfoot was running in the WindClan tunnels when he stepped into a hole and badly twisted his foot.
Tornear fought with a rogue who was very keen to attack his face.
Crookedstar (link in Deadfoot's entry) was hit by a car. He panicked as it approached at a high speed and bit the tire, then was knocked aside by the blow.

LoZ: Renaming Colloquialisms To Fit In-Universe
Okay, I'm tired of this.
I'm gonna create a list of names for things that exist, but would very obviously be called something else in a setting where those names don't make sense.
Like, I'll use Hyrule's earth as an example.
Anything named for a specific culture, religion, or historical event/figure, would very obviously not have that same name on Hyrule's earth because these names would make no sense there.
Some examples: Adam's apple, Saint Elmo's Fire, Mangalitsa pig, Newton's Law, Einstein's Theory of Relativity, Murphy's Law, ect.
Though, in the case of names that were given to them based on who theorized or created something, whoever did so in Hyrule's Earth, would likely remain consistent in pretty much every culture.
Like, Einstein's Theory of Relativity would still use Einstein's name no matter the culture, right? So, whoever discovers it in Hyrule's world would still be part of the name regardless of who talks about it.
There are definitely more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Regardless, the basic overall concept applies. If such things were to appear in Hyrule, they'd need different names.
I've already thought of one for both Saint Elmo's Fire & Mangalitsa pigs.
Saint Nabooru/Urbōsa's Shield & Mystàthï Pig, but I'm struggling to figure out a good replacement for Adam's apple.
Like, it has a scientific name, but "laryngeal prominence" is just such a mouthful & I'm honestly more looking for colloquial terms, possibly even different ones for each race.
And, if I can find a way to make each one mimic the pre-modern colloquialisms of the IRL cultures that they're inspired by, then... well, it'd be absolutely fantastic. Especially if it follows the colloquialisms of the time period that corresponds to the Medieval Era.
Though, maybe not the Gorons, at least not in the case of , as I'm not sure if they'd have one. I tend to see them as being asexual by nature.
If anyone has better ideas for what to call it or even if ya'll just wanna point out other things that would logically have a different name in LoZ, then I'm open ears.
Update:
I now have the Gerudàn term for an Adam's Apple -> "Fōrzàdeh's Jewel"
