Tried to redesign the riders to be a little more believable? … as in convincing but not historically accurate? Tried taking the ac:Valhalla approach, I think they look kinda cool (pls ignore hiccup he was my test & I can’t get him to look any better but this is more abt design than polish I guess)

The helmets were kind of a nightmare and irl Viking’s defo wouldn’t wear any of those designs but I wanted it to still feel like their helmets. Snotlout esp needed his horns they’re too cute I’m sorry.

So I decided to rewatch RTTE because I felt like indulging in some childhood nostalgia. A few things to note:

- Snotlout and Fishlegs are dating. Good for them.

- The twins are the best characters. Still don't know wtf a boar pit is.

- I know those are supposed to be dragon scales on Ryker's shoulder and arm pads but they look like turtle shells I'm sorry--

- Hiccup how tf are you still alive?

- "Toothle plama bla" is perhaps the funniest thing in any piece of media ever.

- On the subject of Gruffnut: There's another one???

- How does Tuffnut know so many languages? Did these languages exist in this time period? If so who taught him? Is Tuffnut Odin in disguise? Would that make Ruffnut Loki?

- Hiccup is AuDHD. No I will not be taking comments at this time.

- Where tf did Hiccup get his dragon blade in midnight scrum? Why did he not use it to free himself or fend off his attackers? Also, on the subject of midnight scrum, how is this boy's neck not broken??

- I did not watch the series before this one so Dagur's entrance confused me so much at first. Who is this man and why does his beard look like that?? Please shave.

- Why is Viggo so aggressively British? And why is his brother Scottish? Come to think of it, there is no consistency in any of the accents.

how i think the gang is with physical touch (specifically cuddling):

hiccup- will cuddle for a certain amount of time, but once he hits that time limit his skin feels like it’s crawling and he needs to pull away

astrid- not the biggest fan of cuddling, but will tolerate it if she really loves whoever she’s cuddling

fishlegs- similar to astrid, but will tolerate it because he doesn’t want to hurt the feelings of whoever he’s cuddling

snotlout- he loves it, but will deny it till the day he dies. cannot catch this man cuddling anyone, no matter how much he wants to

tuffnut- loves loves loves it. he will cuddle anyone if given the chance. as immature as he may seem, he won’t make any girls feel unsafe or uncomfortable cuddling him because he simply does not care about romantic and/or sexual stuff with them

ruffnut- hates cuddles from everyone EXCEPT tuffnut. she will tolerate tuff, but if anyone else tries to cuddle her she WILL make them eat their own shit

bonus:

heather- is fine with hugs, but is not a fan of cuddling

dagur- this man WILL cuddle anyone and everyone, toxic masculinity be damned. no one is safe from his cuddles.

I really enjoyed (most) of her screen time!

I wasn’t a fan of her in RoB/DoB, mainly because she was more of a plot device than a character. Like they just found some washed up girl, Astrid got jealous (That entire ‘oh there’s another hen in the rooster house) thing felt really fucking odd) and idk she betrayed them or smth. She was a good twist ‘villain’ but other than that I don’t have much more to say there.

In Rtte however, she had a really good plot. She was actually a character instead of a prop! She did another twist villain adjacent stunt with the dragon hunters, and Astrid being the only one clued in was so cool??? They really are such a good duo I love them. And the whole thing with Dagur and Oswald I LOVED. Genuinely one of the most heart breaking moments of of season three when Heather read that scroll oh my gods.

But yeah, overall I do enjoy Heather as a character, but, as for most fictional women, she could’ve done with a touch of whatever magic the arcane writers possess.
