Remember when Enel tried to play god, and he would play the part of an uncaring deity by acting cold and unbothered, and pitying of humanity and those who refused to see the world like he does. And how Luffy, Joyboy, Nika- effortlessly flipped that idea of godhood on its head by being terrifying uncaring of what others consider law, but still being full to bursting with careless joy and whimsy and laughter and love, like he wants to tear down the moon and gift it to the world. He’s intimidating in his lack of care for what you consider impossible and what others consider just. True in that the freedom he has achieved is unlike any humanity had known before him.

I blame the X office for what was done with Hank. Like Bendis started it in his X-men then near the end of it right before Secret Wars he left the X-men or was kicked out, or maybe a bit of both.
Come ANAD he was with the Inhumans in Uncanny Inhumans trying to find a cure for M-pox and the X community hates him for this, for some reason. Even then the only story he was used for really was saving Ahura from Kang. So finding a cure, and saving a teenager from a dangerous villain... I feel like he should have stayed with them.
Anyways after that he hung around with Wonder Man and just goofed off a bit. Real harmless fun, it looked like Hank was back.
As soon as back in the X books he was back being a unlikable character.
are there any comic book characters who you feel cannot be redeemed? Like who has been redeemed in a story but youre not buying it?
fun question.
The names that immediately jump to mind are Hank McCoy (The Beast from X-Men), Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, Charles Xavier, The Joker, Baron Zemo and Superboy Prime.  Those guys have each gone beyond the pale in my eyes and I’m not even sure I want to see them redeemed any more.  McCoy’s decades long descent into ethical depravity is especially tough because he used to be a favorite of mine…
Because it’s comics and not real life, I can still root for characters who are big time murderers (like Wolverine, Sabertooth, Daken or the like) yet if a character commits a sexual assault then I can never root for them again.  Retcons and reboots don’t even work… these charters become stained for me in an irreversible fashion.
The same goes for characters who are nazis, malignant racists and/or malignant heterosexist(s).

You know the fact Larian did have "fucked up elves" in their creative vision once shows that they can and want to do it, so I'm wondering why BG3 elves look like humans with pointy ears and half-elves like humans with slightly less pointy ears. Like, was WotC threatening them with a gun like "If you make these elves even slightly 3e we will kill you and your entire family."?

gonna copy + paste some merfolk information i wrote on the other blog about how i write them because i like it
-
Honestly, while I do talk up merfolk and seeing merfolk as providing the same instinctual and automatic reaction and sensations as seeing a large predator much too close to you, and the deep fear that that provides — that is something that mainly applies to people who are less familiar with Miranda and, thus, less familiar with merfolk. People who are more used to Miranda and have acclimated to being around merfolk a lot wouldn't have that same reaction, or would only really have it in specific circumstances or when they are particularly thinking about it.
Mostly I talk about it a lot just because I'm interested in writing merfolk as truly inhuman, and it's one of those things that I have gripes over in xenofiction. Miranda's expressions aren't human, her body isn't human, none of her reactions are human, and that's a huge gap to try and cover between merfolk and humanoids! It really does feel more like you're talking to a particularly smart tiger, and she breaks a lot of the fundamentals of basic socialization for any other species! It's hard to get comfortable around her for the same reason people often have huge issues with anything that strays radically from the human facial plan or that they can't immediately sympathize with!
This is also the same reason why this starts to go away as people get closer to Miranda — not because she's any less of a merfolk or any more human, but because it's easier to automatically associate what she does with her moods and thoughts and her as a person. It's a degree of familiarity that starts to get so ingrained that it becomes subconscious, not just taught or learned but lived.
Think of it like the difference between someone who doesn't know anything about arthropods, and thus groups them all into "scary" and "frightening", and someone who has learned how to tell them apart, what the different species are and what their different body parts are, how to read their body language, how they move and what they do and how to behave around them. Even if the latter doesn't necessarily have more positive feelings about them, they still no longer possess that immediate jump of "this is not like me and I cannot understand or cope with that."
And, yes, this is why so often the narration and Miranda's actual emotional state or thoughts don't actually line up. Miranda might not think this as anything special and might be comfortable and relaxed, but not every muse will have the familiarity and understanding of her to realize it!

So ya I do recall that plot point, but most of Marvel seems to have ignored it, with Uncanny Inhumans having it where Ahura went through Terrigenesis then. Though I believe since Inhumans live longer then an average human even before Terrigen, maybe they age different. See Treste and Irelle who look like they had some big growth spurts
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ya Treste was trying to make her self look older but we do have an age for her, which means also the same for her twin Irelle 16. The same as Ahura (same comic, same arc, 1 issue apart)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Inhumans might age different. So let's go back to Luna as everyone else is getting growth spurts, she is staying young, if Marvel wanted to address this say her Inhuman-Mutate(Mutant) genes changed the aging. I know it is obviously Marvel artist but mainly the editors not doing a little bit of checking like a characters last appearance, but the points are there for this theory to stand.
the fact that Luna Maximoff was literally born before Billy and Tommy but bc of the retro-reincarnation* the twins are full grown adults and Luna is still a middle-schooler.
*nobody in the mid-2000s was playing close enough attention to the timeline, also because Luna is the Franklin Richards of Atillan and will never age.
