But the way the show highlights how Armand was a slave and shows how it influences the way Marius treated him annnndddd made Armand a person of color adds such a disturbing layer to an already disturbing dynamic. (Which i love lol)

I loooveee that u brought up Bianca bcus the whole dynamic with Bianca is sooo fucked up and no one ever talks about it. In blood and gold Marius explains that he was lonely and wanted a vampire companion, who he originally wanted to be Bianca, but he felt super mf guilty about this bcus Bianca is a young well off bright white girl and by turning her into a vampire and taking her for himself he’d be depriving her of her chance at a prosperous life and humanity. And the way Marius gets over angsting about how badly he wants Bianca but how he can’t take her cuz it’d be fucked is by BUYING ARMAND!! Marius buys Armand bcus he considers him *less of a person* than Bianca and therefor someone he can use and abuse without any guilt. So now that Armand is a person of color, that dynamic It’s basically like, “I can’t harm this sweet white girl even tho i want to so bad, that would be horrible!!! Wait, Oh my god yay!!! A brown boy <3 I can do as many terrible things that I want to him because he isn’t human to me <3” like holy shit that is sickening. And it’s such a nail on the coffin how once Marius decides to discard Armand bcus he’s not worth saving to him he immediately turns Bianca and decides that she’s his companion now, like oh my god.

making Armand a person of color was honestly one of my favorite (if not my fav) change that amc made with the characters. In the books Armand is always portrayed as having this ambiguous social oppressor that causes him to be seen as less then human or less worthy of inherent respect + dignity as other ppl, especially in his human lifetime, and it is so prevailing throughout his life that Armand is used to being treated like he’s nothing, so Armand being a person of color just makes sense to me. Not only that, but his entire backstory where there is so much emotional weight put on how Armand was stripped of his cultural identity and his birth name and his connection to religion by being sold into slavery so he’s lost the ability to understand who he is ?!?!? Like it’s kind of insane to me sometimes that all of the aspects of Armand’s backstory in the show that are very much racial trauma happened the exact same way in the books 😭. It makes a little too much sense lol

Which means when Diavolo chooses a literal child as the RAD exchange student (soemthing Lucifer is gonna fight with him about later because what sort of idiotic choice is that?), Lucifer is immediately stepeing into the role of parental figure. Now, he’s not very affectionate and he does hold you to super high standards as he tries to imprint on you and mold you into the most perfectly well-behaved and studious little human possible but…he’s also hopelessly wrapped around your little finger. You teeter on the edge of being spoiled and Lucifer is far more attached to you than he would ever admit and he is petrified of the idea of something happening to you under his watch for more than just professional reasons.

Mammon: Mammon has immaculate tsundere older bother vibes. He’s not happy at all when he’s put in charge of a little kid and he can’t help but wonder if it’s a joke for them to make the exchange student a child so he doesn’t take the job super seriously at first, regularly pawning you off onto other people. However, once things start getting serious, Mammon becomes your biggest champion. He’s going to tease you like crazy and prank you but he’s not going to let alone else ever bother you. If someone so much as pushes against you too hard in the hallways at RAD, Mammon knows and that demon who did it is going to have several angry brothers to answer to. Mammon will also lowkey let you hang out in his room when you’re homesick and he spends an exorbitant amount of Lucifer’s money to spoil you because he can’t stand seeing you sad or wanting for anything.

Levi: Shockingly, Levi does well with kids, as evidenced by his interactions with Luke. Maybe it’s because they’re easily taken in by his interests and tend to see his video game prowess as something cool rather than something nerdy or lame. Whatever it is, children tend to have a good time with Levi and you’re no exception. He loves to play games and watch shows with you; he takes on the role of mentor basically with this studd and loves teaching you all the details which you soak up because little kids are so good at hyperfixating. He makes sure to only show you age appropriate stuff and you’re definitely wandering around the HoL with a Switch and Pokemon or Animal Crossing, always trying to show your stuff to the other brothers who listen to you with more patience than they’ve ever shown Levi. Levi is very much like the best-friend kind of brother where you trust him and end up telling him everything because you couldn’t possibly be embarrassed or nervous in front of Levi.

Satan: Satan is the antagonistic older brother figure. He takes great joy in riling you and Luke up by insulting you or teasing you, though it’s never overly serious and he enjoys it almost as much when you return the energy. Expect small prank wars with Satan and he will happily team up with you to go against the other brothers, especially Lucifer who he tries to turn you against. He doesn’t need to be your faovrite brother necessarily but he feels great joy in knowing you like him and respect him, especially if you ever choose him over Lucifer or another for something. It’s one of the reasons he enjoys teaching you things and helping you with RAD coursework so much. There’s something satisfying about having you listen to him and look up to him, particularly when you’re gushing about how smart he is and how good a teacher he is. Satan also teams up wth you to secure a pet (a cat obviously) for the HoL, advocating for how it’ll teach you responsibility or something. In his softer moments, Satan is happy to read to you, particularly mysteries, and he enjoys watching you try to solve everything before the end.

Asmo: Asmo is immediately smitten with this adorable human child that’s come to the Devildom. He just thinks you’re the cutest little thing and is going to turn you into his own living doll. Be prepared to be dressed up and showed off. He’s gonna take you everywhere with him, his own little shadow (which thrills you of course because who doesn’t wanna be Asmo’s favorite little pet?) and some times the other brother’s have to stop him and remind him that ‘no, MC is literally a child and cannot go to the club with you’. Asmo may not be the most practical big brother vibe, in fact he’s more like an older sister vibe, where he shares all the gossip of the Devildom with you while you sit with your face masks on, painting each other’s nails in his room, and an episode of the trashiest reality shows plays in the background. He’s teaching you so much about self-love and confidence and charm, and you’re going to go back the human realm such a secure, confident little individual under his tutelage.

Beel: Beel is nervous around you because you’re just…so small. So easily breakable. So innocent. It reminds him a bit of Lilith, which hits him pretty hard at first, and he doesn’t really want to get close to you because he doesn’t know if he can take another loss like that. It means he spends a lot of time in the beginning just watching over you from afar and if he sees someone at RAD so much as shove past you too roughly, he’s going to deal with them after school and you’ll never have that problem again - only you won’t know why because he keeps it a secret. Against his own will, Beel becomes more and more attached to you to the point where he enjoys having you at his practices and games to cheer him on and likes sharing warm milk and dessert with you before bed and he’s carrying you around half the time because you know that if you run and jump at him, he’ll catch you no matter what he’s doing or what he has to drop to do it. Beel is like the older brother that you admire and just sort of trail around behind like a little puppy, and you live for when he ruffles your hair or shares his ice cream with you.

Belphie: Belphie is used to being the baby of the family (aside from Lilith and he doesn’t want to go there, even in his own head) so it’s definitely an adjustment to get used to having a young newcomer around the house, getting all of his brother’s attention and affection. I won’t talk about pre-murder Belphie because Belphie killing an actual child as an act of revenge is taking it maybe a teeny tiny step too far. I imagine he doesn’t want to like you and is super short/disinterested at first, unless he’s bothering you in some way and he can definitely be more bitchy than his other siblings. But you grow on him, sort of like a fungus, as you chatter at him even while he doens’t answer and follow him around and do little tasks for him in hopes that he’ll start to like you. Eventually, you reach a point where Belphie is the person you go to for some peace and quiet in this crazy house. He’ll let you nap in his room and point out the constellations in the planetarium and he watches over your dreams to make sure you don’t have any nightmares. He’s definitely a secretly soft brother vibe.

Diavolo: Diavolo is like a proud soccer mom from the very beginning. He chose you because was so taken in by this adorable little human and that grows every day you’re in the Devildom. You may be little but you are fierce; it’s incredible watching a child essentially take over and captivate an entire realm to the point where they have a legion of the greatest demons catering to their every beck and call. Honestly, Diavolo couldn’t be prouder of you and he doesn’t care at all that he may be spoiling you and granting you a few too many freedoms. He celebrates your every accomplishment as if it’s monumental and he bends over backwards to make the Devildom a place where you feel safe and comfortable while you visit. You essentially become both his surrogate kid and the Devildom mascot in his eyes.

Barbatos: Barbatos, much like Lucifer, really doesn’t understand Diavolo’s decision to have a child as the exchange student. It sounds like asking for trouble and chaos, which is exactly what they don’t need during this very important time while they try to foster a relationship between the three realms. Barbatos trusts Diavolo though and so he accepts your appearance with his usual grace. He is very slow to warm up - he doesn’t interact with children much so he’s a little awkward and can sometimes be a little cold but he is looking out for you in his own ways. Over time, he grows closer and closer to you, and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t understand why everyone loved you so much. Barbatos enjoys making you your favorite meals from home and teaching you about the flora and animal life in the Devildom, since those are things that interest you much more than the politics or such. Your innocence is very sweet to him and it makes him quite protective; he’s a silent force in the background making sure you’re safe.

Solomon: Solomon is the definition of the fun, crazy uncle. He loves the idea of the exchange student being a child; if the demons wanted a good representation of humanity, this is the most raw and unfiltered version of it that they could possibly find. He knows they don’t have any inkling of how much chaos you’re going to cause by being there, even if you’re a good child. Your curiosity and imagination and oversaturated feelings about things keep everyone on their toes and they’re learning from you just as much as you learn from them. Solomon becomes a little bit like family to you as the only other human available and you adore him, constantly gushing about how you wanna grow up and be a cool sorcerer like him. Solomon thrives under the attention and, to keep his cool points up, constantly whisks you away on all sorts of adventures and shows you all kinds of spells (most of which are not appropriate for children, Solomon, damn it).

Simeon: Simeon treats you like his own kid and he’s basically raising you and Luke as siblings. He’s got such single dad energy. He’s working hard as an exchange student at RAD and trying to keep the peace between the Devildom and the Celestial realm but he’s also gotta chase after you and Luke as you run amok through the kingdom. You two never give him a moments rest to be honest. For the most part, Simeon is a responsible guardian who keeps you both safe and is endlessly patient/kind, even when you two are being horribly naughty or causing problems. However, as a single dad, Simeon sometimes falls in that childlike mentality with you both and he will happily join in the prank wars or use you two as manipulation against the others, sort of like guys using babies to pick up women in the park. He can also tease you both a pretty significant amount because he believes in self-sufficiency and you won’t learn that if he babies you the whole time. Overall, he’s a 10/10 parent and the most suited to taking care of a child in the Devildom.

Even tho im a chronic fandom hopper, every once in a while i got pulled back to the bnha fandom like a clinging abused ex gf, cause i feel like no other fandom has given me the same feels as bnha on ao3. It's probably partly because of bnha being a perfect sandbox for ficwriters, but damn you bnha writers are really sth else.

Your work is such an exquisite, heartfelt love letter to the fanfiction medium in general, and the bnha fandom in particular. I hope your pillow is always cool and your socks always come out of the washing machine in pairs.

short answer: my favorite part is the process.

demonology has been a learning process for me and also a very strange experience.

ive always been more of an improv writer where i dont really know where a story is going when i write it. with demonology being the way it is, you can surmise that its been a really crazy ride.

ive mentioned this before but it started as an idea of deku being just your typical satanic style exorcist, and as it is a crack fic, i did write it — at the beginning — purposefully to be nonsensical. all the made up “significant” stuff like affinity, authority, even the importance of names and all that — i didnt know what they mean and i didnt care either, i was just making them say whatever that sounded ominous and ridiculous. (often this is for the sake of comedic timing. it is crack after all.)

some comments say the fic didnt make sense, and i agree bc it didnt to me either. but then it DID start to make sense to me. whenever i started to write a new chapter id read back to whatever bullshit i did the previous chap and only then i understood what the hell the characters r talking about. if you look back to the earlier chapters there’d be a lot of foreshadowings, but they werent written to be foreshadowings at the time. its kind of foreshadowing in reverse, bc i only knew what they meant after i wrote them. i didnt know i was writing a meta multiverse time travel fic, but since i did, i had to commit and go crazy.

(in retrospect i think it rly did begin with hitoshi and that cat in ch 3. i didnt even know hitoshi was the “main character” until that chapter. i didnt know that cat was schrodingers cat until i wrote ch 8.)

so u can see how crazy, nonsensical and haphazard the entire writing process of this fic is, which in return gives birth to a crazy, nonsensical and haphazard fic. until its not nonsensical anymore. somehow, there actually is a clear logic in the mechanics of the universe. the cats are schrodinger cats, the demons are maxwell demons, entropies are plotlines which are often riddled with plotholes, the hell is production hell, to be in heaven is to be canonized — and lorem ipsum is the empty blank slate state of the universe. authority actually is authority. the fic gave meaning to itself by the end of it all.

comments ask if i waited for bnha to end — i didnt. bnha ending actually fucked a past version of ch 8, now scrapped. but then it actually … made a better version? and made more sense? its weird.

i did know about some things that were going to happen though. since the first time i had izuku do the “you believe [object] exist,” i always knew i wanted it to be turned back to him (“midoriya izuku doesnt exist”). after i wrote ch 6 i also knew i wanted them to “go back to the beginning” with izuku’s “fall” on the rooftop. but i didnt know until i wrote it that hitoshi was going to choose to fall, too. i know im the author but him choosing that shocked me and i found it moving.

if i had written this “properly”, if i had planned it all with better structuring and better pacing and emotional beats and all that — this might have turned out to be a better written story, in another world. as it is right now there are a lot of flaws that it has. but it wldnt have been the same fic. if not for this fuckass writing process, it wld never have reached the form it takes as of now.

and although it was a very difficult road, i can say wholeheartedly that this strange process has been my favorite part. im doubtful ill ever experience a writing process like this again. the story kept surprising me. a part of why i wanted to finish it was because i wanted to know how it ended too—bc i wldnt know until i wrote it.

of course, at the end of it all, none of us know what their ending is. in the end the story still didnt share its secrets with me and i really really love it for it.

haha this is so long sorry i guess this fic really means a lot to me after all. but yes, thats my answer.

i would also like to thank every reader and commenter once again bc i can honestly say without the feedback and support, this would not have been finished either, or become the way that it is. man. fanfictions, huh?

Personally, I don't see any of the main crew getting picked off, but then again, I didn't think Demon King! Rin was actually going to show up in his sweat pants so like... I'm just as scared as everyone else is.

I do think there will be some deaths though! And I'm hoping to see a few revives as well.

Spoiler warning for latest chapters under the cut

So from theories I've seen going around:

Renzou Shima has had major death flags on him for a while. This is probably just Kato trolling us though. I don't see any benefit coming out of his death anyways (snore) just kidding I love Renzou please don't die

Shiemi has said things that raised major death flags in the latest chapters, however, she's also under the protection of the Protagonist's Favored One's Halo, so unless Kato is a true masochist, I don't see her staying dead if worst comes to worst

Bon, probably also Kato's troll. Konekomaru is protected by the Cat Name Haver's Halo.

Izumo is in too much of a dire need for a glow-up to die.

Yukio is... cursed by the Protagonist's Favored One's Halo. Or at least he was but Rin feels a bit distracted lately. He'll live, but at What Cost? Couldn't say (probably a lot).

The Adults: Neuhaus is probably going to die. Shura might come close, but she'll hang in there so she can attend Rin's graduation. Lucy Yang might die. Lewin is favored by the author so I hope that means he's safe. Angel is not favored by the author so I really don't want to think about what's going to happen to him. Osceola better not die bc I need Rin to become his apprentice. Shiemi's mom is close to dying but I really hope she doesn't.

The Demons: I don't care either way so I never really thought about it (sorry demon lovers). If anything, it's more likely that we'll see demons that have crystalized, revive (Azazel, Armumahael, Shemihaza, Satan).

Also on a similar note, the demon eaters plot point was never fully resolved. Todou "died" off screen so unless Kato totally forgot about him, he's due for a comeback.

It's also interesting that Paku and Godaiin were focused on in the glimpse into the future. Nemu Takara also stayed back and is presumably still alive in that future, and those 3 from the kid's table still need to come back into the story. I doubt any of them will die ;w; that'd be too sad.

Jeremiah might die.

Dragulescu (??? idk how to spell his name) better die.

Other Illuminati: uhhh maybe the Lundstroms? I like Homare and I think she'll have something to do with Lucifer changing his mind about things. Lucifer isn't the main villain anyways so he's probably safe.

Rin... I don't think he'll be the same at the end of the manga, so to me, that counts as dying. Rin and Demon!Rin still haven't resolved their differences. Rin will have to choose a side, or face being forever unstable. But choosing will change him. Right now, he's living as 2 alter-egos/split personality. We've never seen him truly whole, and from the glimpses we have seen, he's kind of scary.

(for complete clarity, i'm going to refer to the entity beelzebub with he/him bc that's how he presents to me as, and refer to the character beelzebub as they/them)

first of all, demons don't really have consistent genders. beelzebub (entity) presents pretty consistently masculine throughout history, but he can take feminine and androgynous forms and has been recorded to do so. the non binary rep and interpretation is my favourite thing.

some stories go that after jesus descended into hell and subsequently escaped, satan was dethroned as the ruler of hell (this doesn't mean that his power was taken away - just that he doesn't personally manage the demons anymore). the title was then passed onto beelzebub who is referred to consistently as a high ranking demon, specifically as a duke or a prince, among others. i really love how beelzebub is the one running things in hell as grand duke. ppl love to give satan all the attention, and it's not like i'm slandering him, but it's tiring to see big bad cookie cutter satan in EVERY show. beelzebub (GO) is a breath of fresh air.

absolutely commands attention when you're in their space. needs you to know that they are the Lord of the Flies, Supreme Chief of the Empire of Hell, Archdemon of Gluttony, and you cannot make any mistake about it.

the buzzing noises when they talk - absolutely canon.

they both appear in a swarm of flies when you least expect bc they have something to say to u that cannot wait. this is how beelzebub first made his presence known to me. just sent me a swarm of flies. twice. can't say he's ever manifested his form into the swarm but hey.

also if he needs my attention, he sends a single fly to buzz in my room until i find out what he wants. sometimes i forget and try to kill the fly. i never can. the fly harassing gabriel who is unable to kill it is so real in this way.

in the final episode when beelzebub holds the fly on their finger... that has happened to me. a while before GO2 came out, he sent me a fly that did exactly that to me, and then i saw the promo photo of beelzebub (GO) holding the fly and i lost my mind.

afaik beelzebub (entity) and gabriel (entity) are not interested in each other but i could be wrong????? it's definitely not rare for demons and angels to interact.

the packet of crisps... they're a demon associated with gluttony and find it amusing when gabriel says they 'don't have to consume.' also, both appreciate booze.

both enjoy music and give ominous warnings like 'every day, something is getting closer.' like ok.

overall, i like how they were watered down from the first season. yes, they're a demon, but demons are not inherently malevolent. ppl who worship them do not think that they're brimming with evil. they're just entities that have been literally demonised over the years. it was nice to see a morally grey portrayal of beelzebub in season 2 and to have them gain agency and choose something that matters more to them than hell.

You sat in her room for SO long....she told you she was going to come home to you to help you, since you lost a dear one and...she didn't...what else would you do?

Hearing you Isahine's gorgeous smile drops from her lips as she looks at your teary eyes, "...What?..No.." she says smiling awkwardly as she holds your hand, but you pull it away seemingly tired off this again and again coming to her...

"..Isahine...I'm sorry...But I'm done!" You said back angrily, as her smile drops again as tears started springing into her amber eyes, but this time you didn't feel the need to comfort her again...you felt guilty..Very guilty..but you weren't gonna get hurt again..she hurt you so many times, but she didn't know and you never tried to hurt her and if you ever felt like you did, you comfort her yet again..

She was very pretty...and you were her friend and her significant other....until she won...Miss.Infernal, that is the title given to her by the royals for winning the beauty pageant....and you were side-casted by her...you were her S/O, but after the GREAT Asmodeus strikes u a conversation, curious in her beauty and her brains and asking her to tutor him in a bit of subjects cause she was not only gorgeous, but also very smart...she became very attached to him...

She always chose him over you, people even preferred them over you and her... You didn't mind in the beginning cause Asmodeus knew to not sleep with taken people, he was respectful to her, never making crude jokes like he did with other people or flirting with her...but even though he didn't seduce her..she still ended up walking into his palm without her or Asmodeus knowing...

Always being thrown aside when Asmo came to her, always being the second choice it was enough...she didn't care enough in the relationship to hold your tears, you won't anymore..as you removed her peach jacket threw it on her bag, bowed to her formally before walking out of the room..into the streets of glowing Infernal..

Rosealine Morningstar

"...What? No?" Rosealine said, as she shook her head as she pulled your hand and pulled you to sit beside her as she scrolled through her phone to show you how she went to the party held for Leviathan's birthday...

"....No...Enough Rosealine! I'm done!" You yelled, you never said her full name, referring to her as Sea or Line or Rosy...she knew it was serious if you said her real name...

"..Why did I do something?"

"..No..but you are...You're breaking me and I can't take it...I'm always your second choice next to Sir Leviathan....I can't take it....I'm breaking up with you..." Your eyes started flooding with tears, streaming down your angry face, as you wiped them off, not caring if she thought you were weak..you were hurt and she was gonna see that!

"..Wha..what?"

"..I said I'm breaking up with you...goodbye Rosealine.." "..NO!..Please..wait!" Rosealine pulled on your sleeve as you tried walking away, out of reflex she felt her arms burns... You hit her hand..

"...No." Was your last word, as You handed her a bouquet of flowers before walking out of the room, bumping into Leviathan who had a huge gift in his hand...

Leviathan smiled as she handed you a box when he greeted you stopping in middle "...Good evening and happy birthday Y/!....What happened Y/N?" you had tears spilling down your cheeks, you shook your head and said nothing saying you were jut upset.

Rosealine walked out of the room...to find Leviathan handing you the box and whispering, "..Happy Birthday Y/N! Sorry for not saying it sooner!!" he said smiling apologetically as you smiled back....maybe you were right...you shouldn't have tolerate being the second choice...

She didn't care, but you did....You volunteered to fix her broken habbits of ignoring her health...you volunteered to fix this mess even though people said it was not worth it, but you did....because you loved and continued to do...when you confessed, when you both went on your first kiss, when you shared a first kiss when you spent time in each other's bed after Xiokor or eating something from Blood Diner....and that's why you didn't want this...

The smile dropping from her lips made you more upset than her behavior towards you, but you knew you'd be happier away from her than with her...She was too obsessed with her work as a mage and with Lady Olsen trying to set her marriage with the twins...

Not even one, the twins cause they used to be Maxmillion... Why two, even one will suffice but no...two...and she didn't ever disagree with Lady Olsen...Did she not care about you or your relationship with her enough that she would never deny a marriage proposal from one she doesn't even like?

Were you that big of an annoyance? Of-course not! You were better and you always treated her with respect and love and she was just throwing it away without caring how you felt and so...Now you don't have to care for her either...

"..NO!...PLEASE...I'm...sorry..." she said tears streaming down those cheeks which blushed when she was talking with Lady Olsen about this marriage proposal or when she was with Lady Myhilara talking about her job opportunity, but never when she looked at you or talked with you or went on a date with you...

"..You hurt me Solielin..."

"...What did I do?"

"...I just opened upto you about something very important to me and you treated it as if it was nothing..."

"...I just...I didn't think it was a big deal.." she said as she whimpered her tears falling down her cheeks,

"..IT IS TO ME!......THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT SOLIELIN!" You yelled back...

She just didn't care...and now..neither did you, as you walked away from something you volunteered to fix, but now finally realizing it could never be fixed...

Like, all of you already seen glimpse of his past like, a little bit. Do you think someone in his position do unreasonable things?

The answer is no, ofc not. Solomon is a guy who wants freedom, he just want a company— like a real one who understands him and make him feel at ease.

This guy, is just have enough with his situation being on edge you know?

The preception of each races that shoved to him to take a side its also wrong. And that's what make him, HIM.

I love him, and honestly? Im proud that he could stand to his ground firmly to stand by and be strong for humanity.

Moreover he wont ever let mc stray, i believe so.

Man, it still stuck in my mind how sad he looked when there is no other option but just mc to give the prophecy to Luci.. I still really want to know what if mc really choose to stay by his side like he ask to.

I hope, in the future there will be actual option for that.

((i know that the dateable's state weren't shown when mc is in their slumber. I can imagine how stressed solomon must be, how he try and searching soo hard to correct and waking mc up. And Satan extending to aid Solo made him conflicted but since its mc, he willing to give in to reach the same goal that is so mc could wake up.

I'm glad the dev prepare option to react with his arrival and to choose whether mc want to stay at Lamentation or Cocytus Hall. Thank you so much dev.))
