but. the thought of him lighting a cigarette… holding it between his fingers, blowing the smoke out slowly and speaking in a slightly raspy voice afterwards….. 😵‍💫 yeah. unfortunately he has bewitched me. you’re soooo right though, he’d never let you smoke!!! he’d get so upset with you if you tried to 💀 could be annoying but he means well… he really is just sooo overprotective and that includes protecting you from yourself + his own cigarettes. lmao.

i think he also tries not to smoke much at all when he’s around you — if you’re on a drive and he feels the urge then he pulls over at a gas station, buys you a snack and a drink, and has himself a quick little smoke break somewhere he can still see you through the car window :3c he loves you. but to reiterate i really do think he’d quit for you. especially if his smoking makes you worried or anxious…… he wants you to be happy and healthy and if he has to take care of himself to make that happen then he will!!

Do you know how specific scent training is? Like if you train a dog to find mallards they can find other ducks, but they're not going to indicate at sparrows for instance. So how specific is it?

Hi! So short answer - depends on the dog and how well they contextualize.

If you have a dog predisposed to finding birds, they're probably going to find all birds and then generally learn which ones you (the human) care about. So say for example your dog shows you a crow, a sparrow, a mallard, a teal, and a finch. You reward the mallard and the teal, and you ignore the others. Eventually your dog will release that you only care about some birds and their indication on crows and sparrows amd finches will fade.

If, on the other hand, you have to teach a dog to indicate birds from scratch, you might have to contextualize more. So you'd teach your dog that you reward when they look at ducks in a pond, and then they'd seek out ducks in a pond (hopefully). Then you'd have to teach that you reward when they find ducks in a field. Then ducks on a path in the woods. Then you might have to teach them that you don't care about herons in the pond. And so on and on, depending how quickly they understand what you're rewarding.

It really depends on what connection your dog makes in their puppy brain, and there isn't a good way to control that. But it's a fun thing to try anyway, especially if it's something you and your dog find enriching!

It was well-known that Niko and Wanderer often bantered around together, some would even say it was their love language - but to have a love language, you have to love someone, right? And neither Niko nor Wanderer would ever admit that. (But it's obvious they do.)

It would never get boring when you have both of them in your life, and today wasn't boring either. Somehow, Niko found some baby pictures of Wanderer and stared at them. “.. cute.”, he thought as he looked through them until suddenly someone snatched the photos away from him. “What the hell do you think you're doing!?”, a familiar voice asks.

Niko looked up at the person and smirked teasingly at him. “Looking at pictures from an insufferable child.”

The person, Wanderer, blushed slightly as he hid the photos away from him. “At least I am not as insufferable as you, Niko!”

Niko tried to get the photos back because they looked so cute to have some blackmail material, and Wanderer tried to keep them away from him for the remaining day .. or until one of them gave up because the other one began to play in unfair ways.

I have so many thoughts about our precious baby peony in general but I definitely have some specific ‘bonding’ activities that I think these three would’ve shared with him.

• Jin Ling & Jin Guangyao

Catching tadpoles.

The reason why this is so specific is because I actually used to do this with my own uncle when I was a kid 💕 JGY would definitely take JL out to the ponds to play with, catch and release tadpoles together because JL was so enchanted by them and catching them was so satisfying. They’d name them together and even though JL came up with the silliest names (like Dumpling, Lily, Buttercup etc.), JGY would never make fun of him for it and would always tell him what perfect names they were.

• Jin Ling & Jiang Cheng

Martial arts.

JC would’ve been far more patient with baby JL and JL wanted to be like him so much that he’d try to copy every move and technique perfectly, kicking his little leg in the air and throwing his little punches. He’d try to keep his form smooth (though it was difficult because he was so excited to spend time with his jiujiu and he was very smol, balance is hard when you’re so smol 😭).

Sometimes the targets on the wing-chun were too high for JL to reach and he’d get discouraged, so JC would would occasionally ‘cheat’ to make him feel better by lifting him up so he could kick/punch the higher targets.

• Jin Ling & Qin Su

Jewelry and accessorizing.

It makes me so happy that JL canonically enjoys and wears pretty accessories, and I 100% headcanon that this was QS’s influence. She saw him take an interest in all of the shiny trinkets in her vanity room, so one day, she let him join while QS and her handmaidens put on her jewelry and accessories for the day and let JL try on anything he wanted.

Both QS and her handmaidens adored JL’s beautiful hair and would decorate it with all sorts of gorgeous headpieces, hair crowns, sparkly strings of golden beads and delicate chains, etc.

It’s something JL never stopped doing from that point on and he always has something pretty in his hair—most of his accessories were inherited by QS after her passing, which she definitely would’ve wanted him to have.

this is the fic that came to me in a flash of lightning while i was standing in the beverage aisle in safeway (dead serious, it's the writer disease) and the most basic premise is "take Elisabeth das Musical (1992) and make it zosan"— for those who have no idea what i'm talking about, walk with me for a sec while i attempt to summarize and not to keep you here all day lmao

basics of basics that i'm just stealing from wikipedia: [The musical] portrays the life and death of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as "Sisi", the wife of Emperor Franz Joseph I, from her engagement and marriage in 1854 to her murder in 1898; it focuses on her growing obsession with death, as her marriage and the empire crumble around her just before the turn of the 20th century.

slightly less basics: elisabeth first encounters death at a young age and they have a constant pull of back-and-forth longing throughout her life as death tries to "court" her and she refuses (meanwhile a lot of Politics and Other Stuff is going on) (<- this is a horribly inaccurate summary but for the purposes of a 10-minute tumblr post it mostly gets the job done)

i still have a lot of ironing out to do with this one in terms of finer details/how to adapt specific plot points, but at the core will be sanji (sisi) and zoro (death), vinsmokes and charlottes, maybe law and some donquixotes, all delightful upbeat and fun stuff! (lying)

anyway this is all extra exciting because once you know anything about the musical, you know that it means this fic is gonna be 200% angst and suffering, which is quite a different foray for me (i like to write stuff laced with humor, eventual happy endings and smut and this is... none of the above lmao) but i feel like it'll be a really cool challenge (once i stop being scared of giving it a proper shot shkshjks)

and yes this may all be partly driven by my desire to envision zoro in some of the adaptations' outfits for death (i look directly at shirota yu)
