Captain Marvel, new Den-Mother (despite the fact he himself is a child even if the league isn’t aware of that fact) for the Young Justice team blinks. Klarion, so-called chaos lord, blinks back in the middle of a spell. 

He tilts his head. The other baby realms-being mirrors him. His own magic-fueled core pulses, and a chaos-core vibrates back. Oh. Ah. So that’s what’s happening. 

“They can’t play right now,” he explains to the barely-younger ancient-in-training, ignoring the team’s incredulous looks at his words with the practice of someone who had to deal with the voices of gods all the time. And Batman’s narrowing eyes. Scary. 

The chaos-core thrums in a distinct pouting-sensation, alongside a whine unique to young ghostlings. A whine that he replied with, even if only they could hear. Come play later, busy now, he insisted again, even if Klarion’s pouting was turning visible before it shifted to a scowl. 

“Fiiine…” And then the chaosling was gone, his familiar with him. Billy really wished he could join in disappearing, seeing the info-hungry look in the others’ eyes.

Damian: And what is the point of this animal husbandry?

Tim: To creat cool new slimes. And get money by combining them.

Tim: Do you want to create a slime?

Damian looking through the different types: Ah, I see. I shall make Father.

Tim: What?

Damian: Please acquire one of these “Batty” slimes as well as a Shadow slime.

Damian: Surely this is not beyond your capabilities?

Bruce: What are you two still doing up? I thought I said no casework today?

Tim: This isn’t casework, I’m making mods.

Bruce: Ah yes, “mine-craft” again?

Damian: Tim has informed me that the objective of the game is to selectively breed these creatures for their monetary benefits. However, it is also possible to create unique combinations. I pointed out the imperative of recreating superior models in reality within this farce and Tim has elected to correct the oversights of the developers to achieve our goal.

Bruce blinking: Um..?

Tim: Damian wants a mod to combine a bat slime and a shadow slime to make you in the game.

Bruce blinking back tears: Oh.

I have insomnia so I give you a gift. Edwin napping in Charles' lap while he plays video games:

Charles looked up, smiling as Edwin stepped into their combined office. He could see the weariness in the crinkles by his eyes, the way his hair was mussed and messy, and the buttons of his collar were undone. He pushed back from the desk, removing his headphones to hang them on their hook.

“Are you planning on streaming within the next hour?” Edwin asked, his voice rough in the low whisper.

“No, I’m not planning to start until about 5,” Charles informed him. “What’s wrong, my love?”

Edwin shook his head, crossing the room in a few strides. Charles chuckled as his boyfriend folded himself into his lap. It wasn’t the first time he had ended up in this position, his legs dangling through the side of the chair and his head resting on Charles’ shoulder. He brushed his nose over one of the faded marks on his neck, smiling softly before turning his head to look into the room. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh.

Charles waited for Edwin to settle, his arms nestled between them, before grabbing his headphones again. He wrapped his arms around Edwin, turned down the volume of the game he was playing, and unpaused it. Portal was one of his favorite games and it wasn’t too loud that it would wake Edwin.

Look at him with his hands behind his back. He’s such a good and obedient ghoul, doing exactly what he’s told without any fuss.

Imagine if Billy didn’t know Shazam died?

(This is actually apart of my AU lol)

But what if Billy didn’t know Shazam, the Wizard, was actually dead? Like maybe he did see Shazam get crushed by rocks but he just thinks a Wizard could survive that, Or he doesn’t remember meeting Shazam for whatever reason. (Like he knows it happened because his pantheon told him so, and he remembers like a tiny bit of being at the RoE, but maybe he doesn’t remember Shazam dying)

This would be kinda funny to think about, especially if the pantheon’s trying desperately not to let Billy know Shazam died. But they occasionally slip up, and each time they do Billy gets slightly more suspicious. Also, in my AU since Billy and Marvel and separate entities, I think it would be funny aswell if Marvel didn’t know either. (—which I do have an AU explanation to make it work, but I fear I may be getting too off track already.)

Billy (as Cap): Oh, by this Wizard, his name’s, uh…

grabs a piece of paper and scribbles the name down

Zatanna: Shazam?

Billy: Yup! Gave me my powers, have you heard of him? I think he’s very well known. I haven’t seen him in a while. Hope he’s still doing alright.

Zatanna (Going pale at the mention of a very much dead Wizard being referred to in present tense): Mhm….yeah…

(the league in the cafeteria, listening to one of the rare times they got Captain to talk about themself. —Billy’s just procrastinating going outside in the midwestern November cold.)

Billy: So I got my powers from this Wizard, his names…um. I think I told Zatanna? Captain looks over at her.

Zatanna (going pale): Really. I don’t remember.

Billy: Oh, okay, that’s fine! Here.

Grabs a piece of paper and scribbles down the name.

Superman: Shazam?

Every magic user in the cafeteria freezes.

Billy: Yeah! He’s the wizard who gave me my powers. I haven’t seen him since I became Captain Marvel, though. I should really go talk to him, maybe I’ll do that later.

Hercules: How about we don’t…

Solomon: That wouldn’t be a good choice, Billy.

Zeus: I agree, you’d be just of a fool as Atlas to go.

Atlas (offended): Wow.
