“Are we drowning sorrows or drowning demons tonight?” Nia asked conversationally as she poured the VERY BEAUTIFUL young woman another drink and slid the glass across the bar. “Either way, I’ve got a good ear for listening, if you want it.”

It's not the first time someone's tried to engage her in conversation for the night, and Molly isn't intending to make it any easier this time around. "How do you know that I'm not the demon?" She asked, when she finally glanced up to meet the bartender's eyes. Hm. Not bad. Still, she didn't let the gaze linger for long--instead returning to the glass. "Guess drowning myself will suffice."

There Harley was again, at the one-note stand, drinking, singing, and having so much fun. She chose a very old-school type song- It's been a long, long time by Harry James and Kitty Kallen. Harley always found herself listening to old songs. She always felt she was born in the wrong era, but this wasn't something special, most people seemed to feel this way. People just liked being nostalgic. As she finished the song she suddenly noticed a very beautiful woman sitting in the crowd. She walked to her and sat next to her "I'm Harley, and you must be...?" She asked glancing at her, and offering a welcoming smile.

Can nobody see nuance on this site? Yes, Neil Gaiman is a famous author who has, surprise surprise, just been accused of horrible and awful things. “Burn his books” “if you watch good omens you support genocide”. The world is not black and white. Let’s look at the facts:

Neil Gaiman is very rich, very famous, and a very cishet guy

Neil Gaiman is very vocal about his support of transgender people

Neil Gaiman fingered his son’s 22-year-old Nanny when he was 61, when they were in a legal sexual relationship

The journalist who broke the news is a transphobic radfem and the sister of Boris Johnson

The podcast discussing this story with the is very anti-BDSM (something very much present in the relationship between Neil and the first victim)

Texts and emails between Neil and Scarlet (one of the women) were expressions of mutual sexual desire/enjoyment

The two women said they were both in their twenties when the respective sexual relationships began, with Neil several decades their senior (61 with Scarlet and mid-forties with K)

The victims have accused Neil Gaiman of raping them via digital penetration and have shared very similar stories

You are not a horrible person for still liking Neil Gaiman media. Stop telling people to burn their copy of good omens. Stop telling people that reading the Sandman means they support genocide. Stop turning this into a chance to spread antizionism. Stop trying to get David and Michael to speak on this. You don’t know anything except what has been written. You do not have the moral high ground.

Kai shrugs one shoulder, twisting the cap back on the bottle of bourbon he'd just poured for a customer, shelving it behind him almost without even looking. "not always. there are some people you just can't find any good in... but in those you can, those with more than they realize, it should be what we focus on, right? even if they don't know it's there." he stares at her as he folds his arms across his chest, leaning back against the bar top and cocking one hip out slightly. "what's with the self-deprecation and melancholy goin' on over here, darlin'?" he wagged his finger in her general direction before smirking and waiting for her answer.

She brought her glass to her lips, giving him a bit of a look. A healthy swallow later, and Molly mimics his shrug. "It's all part of my endless charm." Her hands spread, as though to say it was just how things were. Maybe there was some truth to that, but they both knew there was more to the story. Wasn't there always?

Still, Molly settled in against the counter again, brushing her nose with the back of her hand. "Ain't nothing good about me." She muttered after a moment, looking down into her glass. "That's why people cheat, right? Looking for something good, something better. More."
