When the #artlesson matches the hair . . . . . . Earlier this week I got to spend time with a rising 3rd grader who realllly wanted to learn how to paint. We chose her favorite lovey, did several drawings first, then went for it. After feeling sad and angry and helpless in regards to the evils at play that separate children from parents, I got myself together and wrote letters and signed petitions and did what I could do. It never feels like enough but if enough of us lift our voices we will be heard. While we have a democracy we will use it. Desde abajo subimos. To calm myself, and to take a moment away from the anger, I tested these handmade watercolors from @caseformaking on grey paper and had several moments of quiet and wonder.
