Something I love about how Shannon writes the Sencens is how explicit she is about the fact that their household is not physically violent.

Cassius doesn’t hit him. It doesn’t make it okay.

It doesn’t make it okay.

Keefe’s parents were verbally abusive and neglectful in ways that really screwed him up. Not physical ways, not while he was growing up. (Lady Gisela during canon is something of a different story, but I’m strictly talking about keefe’s normal home life before the plot.) Not getting physically abused didn’t keep him from getting seriously messed up by it.

And I love how clear Shannon is about it. She calls it abuse without dancing around the word. She makes a very important point: the sencens didn’t have to have physical violence in their household for it to damage their son.

Say what you want about Shannon but she slayed that.

I've seen a couple people saying how if both Sophie and Fitz died, Keefe would be most devestated over Sophie's death.

No no no.

He would be absolutely broken over Fitz's death. They were best friends for what, five/six/seven years? Then, Keefe betrayed Fitz when he ran off to 'join' the Neverseen. He never got the chance to apologize.

Sophie was only in Keefe's life for like a year/year and a half, maybe two. Fitz was such a bigger part of Keefe's life.

But Keefe never got to apologize. He never got to find out if Fitz hated him, if he would ever be forgiven. Keefe wouldn't ever be able to forgive himself.

In fact, there's a huge chance Keefe's mind would break from the guilt. Who's there to save him? Nobody. Both Sophie and Fitz are gone forever. Forever. Fitz is gone forever. Keefe never gets to apologize.

BREAKING NEWS: Keefe, (the literal character, not the blog), was secretly the one to start this entire argument. When interviewed on CNN, he stated, “I was just bored lol.”

i think at this point most people know i’m not a big sokeefe fan but i think that’s mostly because i don’t like the later books (except flashback which is amazing)

like if sokeefe would’ve happened in lodestar or earlier i would’ve LOVED IT because back then they were still just babies forced into the world

and i think the reason i don’t like sokeefe in legacy forward is because of Fitz. i was/am a Fitz lover through and through and so if fitzphie never happened i think i would’ve became a sokeefe shipper

it’s just the whole way Fitzphie turned out, it left me resenting sophie and keefe a lil bit so it’s interesting to see how i would’ve like sokeefe to turn out instead of how it actually did

from a vibes perspective, i totally understand why so many people look at keefe and go ‘this guy would be the male equivalent of a wine aunt when he’s older’. 

but. but. 

taking lore into consideration, in my heart, he’s terrified of alcohol (even if he tries really hard to hide it). because. like. his first exposure is almost guaranteed to be through cassius, and cassius canonically threw a glass extremely close to him at least once when he was, like, 8. maybe cassius wasn’t always extra nasty when he was drunk, but there’s gotta be a correlation in keefe’s brain between risking getting seriously hurt (emotionally or physically) and alcohol consumption that’s really hard for him to shake.
