The King's last gift

Danny was tired, tired of being responsible for protecting the world. At first it was just Amity but the ghosts began to explore more and the halfa was exhausted. He was the only hero available and it was taking its toll.

He knew he couldn't go on like this, let alone with his coronation around the corner but he didn't know what else to do. He knew he couldn't interfere with the world after the crown was on his head. The world would fear him (maybe even more than now) and protecting them with so much power in hand could do more harm than good, but if he didn't protect them, who would?

His core ached at the thought of all those people begging for a hero who wouldn't come, so Danny took desperate measures, and cheated a little.

He visited Desiree; she watched him with a raised eyebrow, curious. And Danny did what he forbade long ago, he wished. He wished for the future and for humanity itself, he uttered the words he had wanted to say ever since he knew he would not be able to visit earth for a long time.

"I wish for the world to be safe even when I no longer live in it, I wish for there to be someone who can protect it, even if it's just a human."

Desiree blinked in surprise not expecting the King who had "forbidden" her to do such a thing. She smiled and nodded. Her power grew exponentially but neither she nor Danny said anything about it. The halfa would not undo that wish after all.

In New Jersey, Thomas and Martha Wayne were celebrating the birth of their son. Neither of them noticed the spark of magic entering the baby, nor the boy's unusually blue eyes. Bruce Wayne, the Ghost King's latest gift to mankind, had been born.

And years later, when the Justice League was formed and everyone was talking to each other, John Constantine looked at the dark knight curiously, wondering if he was aware that he was death's favorite.

Maybe it's an evacuation, maybe it's Ford's dream- Stanley gets left behind either way and it makes him feel so small.... he's happy for his brother though-

Well, he was...until he went missing. Time to work a spaceship and lie to everyone he's Stanford so he's allowed to! The government may have given up on his brother but Stan never will!

Since time can be different, this would be perfect for an Old Ford and Young Stan AU too, o when Stanley finds his brother he's much older and maybe has that silly beard from the storyboards.

Honestly REEDA's main design in my head fits Ford's lab, so it's a very retro cassette-futuristic style like you've illustrated. Think: how did people imagine the future was going to look in 197-something. All Commodores and IBM and thick plastic etc.

Ford's lab in mtb is designed with that exact aesthetic in mind, so terminals and things like this were at the forefront of my mind:

These types of terminals are primarily in the mainframe room that Reader goes through to access the lab. It's all set up with things like the above. Whereas REEDA's central screens in the main body of the lab look more like the ones in The Forbin Project:

Except they're a mix of both of those aesthetics, so they're weirdly long CRT monitors suspended in a similar layout to the above!

Here's another ss from Forbin bc it works along similar lines! And also it's a great movie and you should watch it!

A terrible thought has moved into my mind

Danny sorta overfilled it?? (a guide to the lazarus pit)

The portal pulled around the edges, pulsing an intense green that throbbed with what was to many ghosts too much energy, leaking into the ground above and spilling like a dense waterfall to the concrete below. The liquid crafted a little place for itself, eating away the space it slowly replaced. It grew by the second, looking very much the size of a house pool when it finally stopped, and the suspended portal above it popped out a headful of white hair.

One that immediately looked dissapointed.

“Aw man, not this again—Clockwork keeps telling me I keep overfilling the energy I put into my portals but like when am I supposed to know much is enough?? Last time I under did it I ended up swallowing pure ectoplasm that hadn’t even formed into a portal. Like sure, just head checked myself into the dirt like an ostrich, ugh.”

The teen dissapeared into the green mass and the portal promptly closed.

You know, since Lumini messiness and sadness is on the table now, I have to share a silly little thought I've had for a while. For context, bear with me, I saw someone on the og confession blog say they didn't rlly vibe with Lumini bc they didn't like that Lunar fell for the first person who wasn't family, which is fair yk you do you, but I've always wondered . what if that was something Lunar knew too.

What if Lunar was so aware that they latched onto the first person who had gone out of their way to be around them and show care for their wellbeing (don't think about it being a matter of training, don't think about it being a matter of power) like a lost duckling.

What if Lunar had been more in love with the idea of them (give me a reason, give me a purpose) that they either convinced themselves it was all of Gemini they loved or it eventually just grew to actual affections.

Just,,, all of it being a matter of "give me one good movie kiss and I'll be alright," hoping and wishing for something sweet and romantic even if it's faked at the end of the day. What if Lumini was doomed from the start....... wouldn't that be fucked up

A lovely story of Elvis on set of "Paradise Hawaiian Style," by actress Irene Tsu.

Principal photography in Paradise, Hawaiian Style began in Hawaii on July 27, 1965 (with the working title of "Hawaiian Paradise") and finished on September 29, 1965 in Los Angeles.

"It was the very first day on set and I was so nervous. So I decided to go take a nap and if I was needed on set, they would call me. I went to my trailer and the air conditioner wasn’t working. I was just hysterical - really hysterical. I walked around the set when I discovered a big hut and thought there would be air conditioning inside.

All of a sudden, there was a hand stopping me. And I was told, 'That's Elvis' dressing room. You can't just go in. I’m going to have to ask if you're allowed.'

Security let me in and I ended up taking a nap on a couch in the cool area. Elvis was near me looking at me when I woke up. He was putting a cold compress on my face. He thought I must have passed out or something.

He was absolutely beautiful. I didn’t even know what to say because I was so shocked. And then he went, 'Don’t worry about it. I just want you to feel good. Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat? Are you thirsty?' I couldn’t even talk! I was overwhelmed by his presence. He smelled like baby powder and milk. And he kept insisting if I needed or wanted anything.

We became friends while working together. We were united by our admiration for martial arts and spiritual ideals."

MY OPINION SECTION: If you remember the behind the scenes story on Elvis's personal life, he was miserable with the Hollywood contracts for a while... 1965/1966 weren't his best years emotionally. Elvis was feeling terrible with how his career was going at that time, musically and cinematographically. It's really cute to me how gracious and generous with his time and attention he was even when he was feeling terrible inside. Skeptical people would say "Oh she was a very attractive woman and he was just hitting on her." It could be, but do you really think he needed tactics to get girls? He was Elvis! Besides, there's reasons to believe he was just being genuinely worried about Irene. EP was a very caring man since always. That story reminded me of Elvis on August 11, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida. There's pictures of him holding the hand of a fan who fainted after seeing him in person at the hotel he was staying in. If Elvis wasn't the huge music star he was - but still had the financial means to do so - I bet he would have been an excellent doctor or caregiver of any kind. That man had so much love to give!
