so, i've wanted to address this quote for a while. because it's stupid. let me explain.
i've seen very few heroes who are willing to sacrifice their loved ones to save the world. usually they find some kind of loophole that lets everyone live. also, sacrificing the world to save one person is not romantic. it's not desirable. what good is a world without its people? what's the point of living in a world where only you and one other person exists?
this quote is just the trolley problem paraphrased. it's the dilemma of saving one person over multiple people. it has no right solution because both of the possible solutions result in the death of someone.
coming back to the post itself, this is yet another case of adora being victim blamed. because c//a stans never get sick of that, right? the post is implying that adora would sacrifice catra to save the world (which is not true, she was sacrificing herself) and that catra would sacrifice the world to save adora. is that true?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
research says no.
i mean, come on, the show literally spells it out for you. catra says word for word that she'd rather destroy the world than let adora win (hint: live).
and before you say "that was before she was redeemed!" don't forget that she left adora on her deathbed, instead of staying with her when she needed love and support the most.
Tumblr media
again, c//a stans trying to twist canon into something it's not. what's new?

TW FOR A LOT OF THINGS!!!
(VIDEO GAMES)
So, I know a lot of games that deal with heavy topics.
Mouthwashing (rape, depression, textbook narcissism, suicide), It Takes Two (divorce, child neglect [yes, they neglected Rose several times], emotional abuse of some kind), BATIM/BATDR (living in what feels like a time loop, manipulation, abuse, beauty standards), Little Nightmares (child abuse, starvation, attempted genocide, holy shit there’s a lot in this game-), and so forth.
I introduced my mom to the second one (It Takes Two) to start her off gently with these sort of games. I sent her a playthrough of it, and discovered five minutes too late it was a 9 HOUR PLAYTHROUGH. I’m so sorry mother-
The reason why I’m eventually going to send all these games to her? She was a head of the department in a helping organization for addiction, domestic abuse and violence, and suicide prevention. She commonly likes to delve into things with harsh themes, so I thought I’d send her these sort of games as a form of bonding. :)

BNHA x Encanto Crossover
Villain Madrigal Family. Quirkless Vigilante Mirabel.
The Encanto is a cult owned by All For One and led by Alma, used as a breeding ground for AFO’s test subjects and child soldiers.
Alma agreed to lead AFO’s cult, allow use of her kids as soldiers, and her citizens as test subjects in exchange for giving her kids the power to protect themselves and each other, ensuring none of her family would be killed like Pedro ever again.
Colombia has a very low Quirkless population, even less than Japan.
Eventually the Colombian decided Quirkless were “impeding evolution” and tried to kill them all.
Quirkless Pedro’s death activated his & Alma’s latent quirk factors to create the Encanto & Casita.
When 5 y/o Mirabel discovers Alma’s deal with AFO and her abuse of everyone in the Encanto, she runs away before her Gift Ceremony (AFO gives the Quirks) and spends the next 10 years traveling with Bruno to Japan to stop AFO.

yeah i think there's a difference between selfshipping with a antihero/ a antagonist/ a morally grey character, ect; and selfshipping with a rapist or a character who attempted imperialism / genocide. and the fact that i and others need to clarify such, is kind of sad.

Yandere
With Toko stalking Hinata, Genocide Syo is bound to come out. However Toko isn't the only one with a second personality, as Hinata has one as well in Izuru. It is the meeting of two alternate personalities, both dangerous in their own ways.
"Finally. I finally got you where I wanted you to be."
Genocide Syo said in a depraved lovesick voice as she licked her lips as she stared at the man whom she had been stalking over two and half week, just waiting for the right moment to give this handsome hunk of a man her confession via death with her scissors.
"...."
"Got nothing to say to me, Darling~?" Genocide Syo cooed as she twirlinng her signature weapon of choice, lust and love filled her black heart. "Do this mean you are ready for my-"
"How boring." Spoken the deep monotone voice that was far from the shadow which he stepped out revealing...Izuru Kamukura was staring at her with an apathetic expression as he stared at her with boredom-filled red eyes. "How completely and utterly boring this is...." He said to the murderous yandere woman who blinked in surprise at the sudden change of physical appearance and tone of her love...
...but this made the deranged even more deranged as she let out an excited giggle and her pupils were replaced with bright luminous pink hearts.
"This...is going to be so much fun~!" Syo said as she speed toward the man with the murderous intent to express her twisted love toward the man who stared at her with a dead, apathetic expression.

"He said that he would shoot me in the legs and that I had to enter his position," says a girl from Sviatohirsk, Donetsk region, about a Russian who tried to rape her
- He came to my house. He was with a bottle of cognac. He forced me to drink it. I mean, he poured cognac into my mouth and started to hit on me. I barely had time to lock him in the house and run and call for help. I was crying, running around the apartment, hiding from him. He broke my ironing boards and clothes dryers at home. He broke everything. He tried to put me on them.
- Did he have a gun?
- Yes. He said that he would shoot me in the legs and that I had to enter his position. He was completely intoxicated. He was extremely inadequate. My psyche was completely broken. As soon as a spoon falls somewhere at home, I shudder. This is the case with many people.

I don't know what's crazier about this - that someone so desperate for his voice to be heard and the cause that means so much to him to be seen that he attempts (and may likely succeed in suicide in such a painful way) or that 1 of the cops stands with his gun aimed at the man who is fully engulfed in flames for a full minute. At least 1 person had the common sense to yell, while others scrambled around, "I don't need more guns, I need another fire extinguisher".
This is the 2nd person to do this in the past 3 months. Before these 2 I'd only ever heard of this happening in the late 60s when a Buddhist monk, sat in lotus position & set himself on fire to protest the escalating Vietnam war.

The realization that humanity has failed when more sympathy is shown to a white man who barely bled than to the disembodied, emaciated, terrorized bodies of Plaestinian children and adults.
Donald Trump garnered more sympathy from U.S. politicians—regardless of their party—from a failed assassination attempt than thousands of innocent Palestinians did from being relentlessly bombed, tortured, and killed.
I don't even know what to do anymore, we are truly lost.

“entrapta joined the horde so she deserved—”
no. no one deserves to be dehumanized. no one deserves to be put on a leash and dragged around. no one deserves to be mistreated just because they happen to function differently from people around them.
i bet y'all wouldn't be saying the same thing if catra was the one treated this way.

Shitty drawings of Kako (left) and Noir (right) from a hypothetical game that may or may not see the light of day at all
Lore under the cut. Tw: genocide, racism, and ethnic cleansing ig
A long time ago, a god was sealed for trying to eradicate the divine races, creatures created by the gods separate from evolution, and tried to make humanity the superior and only sapient race.
Said god wallowed in hatred, planning out her revenge once she gets out of the seal.
Obviously, there are people who sought to not let that happen, humans included. Kako is the current line of said people, from the Tokino family.
Despite his species being discriminated by the others, he tries his best to keep the seal shut.
One day, on a routine walk to a part of the seal, he encounters the hooded man Noir. He helps Kako on his journey to the seal, which is blocked off by many puzzles where you need to cast magic in order to proceed.
However, they encounter a cult worshipping the earth itself—the true form of the god who was sealed away. They plan to free her in order to continue where she left off.
Except… she doesn’t want that. Not anymore.
“How did you know that?” Asked Kako, who heard Noir say that.
“Don’t you know, human?” the cult leader said. “She is Gaia!”
“W-what…?”
Noir is silent. His—her?—face was unreadable.
“I’m not her!” Noir finally yelled. “I’m not even a girl!”
“Y-Yeah!” Kako yelled.
“Still lying through your teeth, huh?” the cult leader said. “Just drop the act already. It’s your chance to strike that wannabe priest!”
Noir’s hands are curled up in fists. The ground is shaking.
Is… is he angry?
“Noir… are you okay?”
Noir doesn’t respond. However, Kako could have sworn that he heard a sob.
“…since you’re not going to attack the boy, might as well do it myself.”
The cult leader then approached Kako, as he restrained him with vines. The god of hatred’s original domain.
He charges his attack. Kako closed his eyes.
…nothing.
He opened his eyes to see that Noir blocked the attack with his own magic.
So much darkness…
The force was so much, it blew Noir’s hood away.
He has long hair, floating upwards like vines.
Like vines…
The attack ended, and so did Noir’s defense.
The vines holding Kako disappeared.
“Noir… are you alright?” Kako asked. He took a closer look at the little… anglerfish? No, he’s definetely not a mermaid…
His eyes are white, his skin is black, and his teeth are like that of an… anglerfish. However, the lack of a lure complicated things.
Not to mention the aura…
“How dare you!” the cult leader exclaimed in anger.
Shit happens, they blast the cultists away, and yeah. Noir runs away in shame though, and Kako runs after him.
Once Kako finally catches Noir, he finally explains shit. Yes, he is that god, using what is basically a remote controlled robot controlled by a remote controlled robot. And that he genuinely regrets everything that led to his sealing in the first place. Also, he’s transgender.
Kako doesn’t exactly forgive him, but he does befriend Noir.

Yeah
People can still deserve to be taken out of the equation
Without heat or emotion, some people are just generally dangerous and should be gotten rid of if no other avenues are available
Just, logically the damage they do is too much to be able to justify keeping them alive just to have them commit acts of intense cruelty
That being said, we can never be too sure we got the right mark, jail can be reversed upon finding that person was innocent
Death cannot be
Only when other options are unavailable is it justifiable to use deadly force against a dangerous individual
When Indian police officers took the gloves off and started using deadly force against terrorists when they were also shooting at the police when they attempted to arrest them, those officers sustained less casualties and was able to neutralize the threat
( cops are still corrupt but it is still bad when they die cause they aren't empowered to use more force against armed nut jobs )
Killing someone who was attempting to kill you or severely maim/r*pe you is self defense, that's justifiable cause you can't justify the cost of them not being fought against and there aren't really other options
Of course there's always a worry of people taking advantage of these circumstances ( they do it anyway, it's just normal murder, which is when we rely on the law to find out whether it was in defense or not )
But the base morality still stands, sometimes it's just not practical, it's not pretty by any means, and it shouldn't devolve to that choice in our society, but it can, and people shouldn't overthink and make themselves miserable when fighting off the generally dangerous to save their own lives and skin and the lives and skin of others
Border control needed to kill back when a group of soldiers broke into their side of the border and started killing
When no one will stop the child rapist or murderer you have to defend yourself and the people around you
Reason can dictate it's the best option
And true that people do unjustly kill just for their own sick pleasure, but they hardly are willing to stop just cause reasonable people won't
If you've been in a situation where such extreme action feels like the only way out and you're pushed to it to save yourself or those around you don't let it burn you up inside, the action is inherently dark and upsetting but you had reasons to
My family are survivors from a genocide, they shouldn't feel bad for taking down a terrorist, or someone coming around to kidnap their daughters or any person they felt like snatching
Intense times can call for intense measures, in situations like that don't let yourself be handicapped
Don't make yourself completely powerless if you know you can do something
When the law fails you or cannot intervene don't get caught up in the titles and visuals of the matter
Think about why you did it, fall back on that and let that calm the issue, it's important to question and reflect, and to recognize if you did the wrong thing, but do that with reason, don't just hate yourself cause you were pushed that far
If you were raised or got caught up in a gang and had to to live, if you wanted to kill the guy who killed your family or friends, if you did it to help a person escape from trafficking or you were trafficked and that was the only way out or to get justice, if someone tortured you for fun and you couldn't call for help
Fall back on the reason why, get peace from you attempting to pick apart your reasoning and having it stand through it, having you question your reason and being able to answer them, being able to genuinely justify it cause you do ask yourself and you can make a response, one that you can pick apart and bring to it's end, to it's logical conclusion
Being able to wade through all the mess with reason, questioning, picking apart, so you can get closer to the truth, to find the truth
Don't just get disheartened and upset with yourself just because of a surface level title slapped onto what was done
Your truths are more nuanced than that and deserve to be met with proper consideration
All of ours are
Btw
Some of my tags outline my experiences
They are kinda disturbing
Outlining my poor treatment a little
Read at your own risk
I'm fine-ish now though so don't worry
I'll be alright
re: that last post, ive said it before and ill say it again: no one deserves to die (deserving is fake and death is bad) but some people need to be stopped and choose to make death the only way to stop them

Asriel Crownbearer AU: Alphys
Tumblr media
TW // Su*c*de (which was in the CANON Undertale btw)
Alphys in this AU used to be Shamura's follower. However, after assisting in the Bishops' goat genocide, she was unable to handle the guilt of all those deaths that were caused partly by her hands. Feeling remorse, she attempted to drown herself at Anchordeep. Fortunately, she was rescued by Undyne during her nostalgic visit at Anchordeep. Undyne later brings her to the cult which leads her to meet Asriel. Alphys is willing to let the prince kill her as she has the blood of his people on her hands, but he spares her as she is just a mere follower who was only given the option of "Kill or Be Killed". After having Asriel's mercy, she remains one of his most loyal followers despite the still-awkward relationship they have.
And of course, Alphys and Undyne are still girlfriends!!
(Credit to @cambionkid for helping me with some of the story ideas)
