it makes me lose my mind when people say klaus never loved caroline because you can’t deny facts?? he did love her.
you can dislike them together all you want idc, but he made his feelings for her very clear multiple times in both actions and words.
like when caroline said to HIS FACE “i know that you’re in love with me” and not once did he deny this. the man who lived by his saying ‘love is a weakness’ not denying that he loves caroline. do you understand the magnitude of that?
and let’s not forget him saying he intends to be her last love, however long it takes (and reaffirming his promise of however long it takes in a letter to her years later after all the events in tvd and some of TO). it’s pretty clear that that is him telling her he’s already at that point with her, he’s just waiting for her to be ready to love him back.
his reaction to her saying “you weren’t the villain of my story” is so telling. the look on his face and how he gravitates towards caroline once he processes what she’s said.
and then there’s also him spending his last day alive with her… like come on. that says it all.

What's your thoughts on the Bennett coven and their lore?
Tumblr media
I'm not sure if you're asking about how they are depicted or just generally about them so I'll answer both. It has been a while since I've rewatched TVD, so correct me if I'm wrong on anything.
Generally, the Bennett coven is one of the oldest and most powerful covens in TVDU. I know there is so much debate over the different witches and I'm not here to do that. While, yes, there are other powerful witch families, the Bennetts have a very long history and enough members to make an actual coven on their own, unlike a lot of other families. If the writers and producers were different people, I would love to see a spinoff focused on them. You could pick any time period and it would be an incredible story.
The show tells us they are so powerful because we consistently see other powerful beings (witches, vampires, and even werewolves) coming to them for help. Silas and Amara rely on Qetsiyah, without whom there would be no TVDU. Esther relies on Ayana, the brotherhood relies on a Bennett witch, a Bennett witch creates the weapon used against the sirens, Katherine relies on Emily, and then the entire TVDU on Bonnie. Even at Grams' age, she still had Damon backing off. Every time they bring up a new villain, somehow the Bennett coven has been involved.
So while we can argue witch against witch (which I'm not going to do), I don't think you can say there is a coven that could go head to head against the Bennett coven. They just have a much deeper history than any other coven we are shown. The Travelers may be the only ones that have as much history, but the Bennetts derive from them through Qetsiyah.
Now I don't think we can talk about the Bennett witches without mentioning the racism that permeates the TVDU. No matter how powerful they are, the Bennet witches are often delegated to sidekicks, which makes no sense given their power. Qetsiyah is the only Bennett witch that we see actually get revenge for the wrong that was done to her and she is seen as a villain for it. The Bennett witches are constantly losing their lives helping people who are just taking advantage of them. People like to paint it as they are helping their friends, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Especially when you factor in the time periods these "friendships" happened in. Katherine and Emily were not friends. The Bennett witches were constantly used and abused until they died trying to help others.
The Bennetts are not given their own storylines that don't directly impact the "main characters." They don't even get relationships (both romantic/platonic/familial) unless it can be used against them. Throughout history we always see the Bennett witches on their own, removed from their family.
A big reason that they could be so spread out is because of how powerful they were. If the Bennetts all stayed together, they would be an unstoppable force. But they would also attract a lot of attention and put an even bigger target on their backs. The Bennetts have a deep respect for their ancestors, so you would think we would see them form a coven like the New Orleans witches or even the Travelers. But because of their power, they are forced to live separate lives, not even staying in contact. I would have loved to see an actual Bennett coven.
Bonnie not knowing she is a witch until her teenage years goes against everything we know about witches. Hope has access to her magic as a baby, yet Bonnie doesn't until she is well into her teenage years. I would have loved to see it where Grams raised Bonnie herself and she grew up as a witch. But honestly, the show couldn't have done that because most of what happened in season 1 and season 2 wouldn't have if Bonnie had fully understood her power. She easily could take down the Originals, so a couple newbie vamps wouldn't have stood a chance.
Not sure if this is what you wanted, but if you have a more specific question that I didn't answer, feel free to ask!

Reading your thoughts and thinking about Delena years after the show is over makes me so emotional. There hasn't been another couple I have loved as much as them and I feel nostalgic about when I watched the show and how much better life was back then. I know all good things come to an end, but the idea of never seeing them make a guest appearance in a TVDU spinoff or the three actors together is sad. There's a TVD convention in December and after years Nina is finally attending but Ian cancelled this time. Hopefully in the future there's an opportunity where we see them and Paul together.
They're what I consider a power couple. In that moment Elena tries to punch Damon, I knew they would strengthen each other because of Luka and Bonnie. You can actually see it. Yeah, they rock the hell out of TVD.

Not Brett talking about doing another spinoff... please just leave this poor universe that you so badly screwed up alone. It’s not even tvdu anymore, it just became Brett’s own weird fantasy, so what’s the point of another spinoff? Especially when the characters’ stories in legacies weren’t even finished or hardly even explored, how would it be fair to start anything else while their stories are left incomplete? And after Brett disrespected and screwed over Aria and mistreated Landon so badly, did nothing to tell his story, and really didn’t do any of the actors/characters justice, they just get left with what they got while Brett goes on to do more? He ruins all of that then gets to keep going? How is that right? Like... enough damage has been done, please just let it go.

It's been a while I know but how could I not return to the world of Tumblr for a post mourning the impending end of the TVDverse 💔 an end I hope will be more of a break than a true ending 🤞
I'm still in shock over Legacies cancellation but there is a part of me that is proud the 2nd spinoff in the TVDU is going out with its strongest season to date, some moral victory about the show going out on a high.
13 years ago we were all introduced to Mystic Falls and as 14 year old gay boy I was instantly obsessed with the show, having always been obsessed with the supernatural genre, and quickly found myself becoming totally obsessed with the likes of Caroline Forbes and Katherine Pierce. Over those years "TVD" continued to introduce more characters for me to love and hate, storylines to keep me hooked and "The Originals" spin off with the Mikaelson family, later "Legacies" was born. I grew up with this universe, as I'm sure most of you did, and I want to honour that 💖
Please drop comments about your favourite storylines, couples, pairings, seasons, episodes, characters, etc, over the years, lets share some TVDverse memories together as we prepare to say goodbye for now with Legacies finale three episodes soon coming our way 💖

Did you hear about the rumors of more spinoffs in the tvdu 🤣?
Nope. Y'all just let it die, or at the very least come up with something new. Like Legacies? That coulda been it's own show not connected to the TVDU which is literally its downfall. Would I watch it? No, but I could at least respect it more if it wasn't hell bent on ruining what little I liked from the TVD.

Caroline? Bonnie? 6 Vampire Diaries And The Originals Stars Julie Plec Wants On Legacies Season 2
Tumblr media
Legacies Season 1 just finished its run, with multiple characters from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals either stopping by or being name-dropped on the spinoff. (cough Caroline cough) Julie Plec is the ruler of The Vampire Diaries Universe, and she revealed that they will be writing Season 2 in June, and they'll start filming the new season in late July.
So this is the planning period, and also probably the time that they send out feelers to certain stars to ask/beg them to at least cameo in Legacies Season 2. The Legacies finale made it clear they'd love the twins' uncle Kai Parker to be part of Season 2, but Julie Plec also named a few more Originals/Vampire Diaries characters she'd like to see back.
“Aside from me totally secret-ing into existence Kai Parker's appearance on this show, there's plenty of people I'd love to see. I'd love to see Bonnie (Katerina Graham). I'd love to see Caroline (Candice King) obviously. I'd love to see Freya (Riley Voelkel) and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) and Auntie Rebekah (Claire Holt). ... The door is always open, and it's just really a matter of being able to match up interest from these actors and story opportunity at the right time”.
As Julie Plec told TV Guide, it's a matter of matching up interest, availability, and storylines. Legacies Season 1 proved it's a great show in its own right, it's just a matter of whether the stars want to return to the characters they played for so long on shows that wrapped up their storylines only a year or two ago.
Julie Plec acknowledged her shameless plug for Kai Parker in the Legacies Season 1 finale, but added that -- beyond pressuring Chris Wood -- there is no guarantee that Kai will join Season 2 to continue Lizzie and Josie Saltzman's Ascendant/Gemini Coven/Merge storyline.
As for her other Vampire Diaries and Originals suggestions, most of her picks are the same folks I had also singled out as fitting in perfectly in the spinoff.
Caroline Forbes-Salvatore is the most obvious choice, as we all know, because she is the twins' mother and got name-dropped pretty much every week. Candice King was a no-show in Legacies Season 1, so now it's a question of Season 2.
Julie Plec tweeted some answers to fans' questions after the Legacies Season 1 finale, and of course she was asked about Caroline appearing in Season 2:
Tumblr media
So far, it's only a hope for Caroline/Candice.
It might also just be a hope for Bonnie Bennett. Bonnie would fit in perfectly with how Legacies Season 1 ended, since Bonnie was the one who put Kai in his current Prison World, with the help of young Lizzie and Josie's Gemini Coven magic.
Kat Graham has been pretty busy since leaving The Vampire Diaries, and when Hollywood Life recently asked her about returning to the franchise as Bonnie, she was understandably hesitant:
“Eight years is such a journey, and I felt like I spent more time as Bonnie in my twenties, the age that you’re really learning who you are and going through self-exploration that we all have as women in our twenties, and I spent more time as this character than myself. I think I did what I could do and expressed what I could personally express through this character as much as I could. I’m never gonna say never because I think the universe has a funny way of putting you exactly where you’re supposed to be with exactly who you’re supposed to be with. But, I think right now I’m having a good time getting to know myself better”.
The Vampire Diaries only ended two years ago, and The Originals actually only ended not quite one year ago. So everyone gets that many of the stars are ready for a break.
That said, Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) is the main character of the spinoff Legacies. Season 1 ended with everyone forgetting Hope, but she has a long history out there and it would be great to have her Mikaelson family back in the mix to help fill in the gaps.
Tumblr media
Julie Plec mentioned Hope's Aunt Freya, Aunt Rebekah (who was last seen engaged to Marcel) and Vincent. Plec already said Vincent was the Mikaelson family friend Hope sent Landon to see in New Orleans.
Last we heard, Vincent had agreed to be the father of Freya and Keelin's kids. And Legacies recently referenced Freya as the one who actually explained The Merge to Hope over the phone.
Everything is happening off-screen at this point, but it would make sense to see more Mikaelsons on screen. Right now, Freya actress Riley Voelkel is still in The CW family with Roswell, New Mexico, so maybe she'll find time for at least a cameo in Season 2.
We'd all love to see Hope's father Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) again, but the Necromancer did update that Klaus has no regrets about his decision to sacrifice himself at the end of The Originals. We can probably expect to hear Klaus name-dropped a lot, but it wouldn't make sense to see him.
Same for Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Stefan sacrificed himself -- it's such a TVDU trend -- in The Vampire Diaries finale. However, Legacies Season 1 revealed that Elena Gilbert-Salvatore (Nina Dobrev) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) had a daughter Stefanie that they named in Stefan's honor.
Julie Plec was asked if we might see Damon and Elena's kids on Legacies, and here's her response:
Tumblr media
That would be so great. The Vampire Diaries lasted for eight seasons and The Originals went for five. We don't know how long Legacies might last, so it's possible some past stars will show up in, say, Season 4.
Legacies Season 1 already saw plenty of returnees from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals -- Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis), obviously, as headmaster of the Salvatore school and father of Lizzie and Josie; Sheriff Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) in a couple of episodes; Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) in a cameo; Jo Laughlin (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) as the undead Mombie Dearest biological mother of the twins in her heartbreaking episode; and, for some reason, Roman (Jedidiah Goodacre) came back, although they didn't do enough with him to really justify that.
Legacies paid homage to The Vampire Diaries and The Originals all year, from The Merge references for the twins to the Klaroline dress that Klaus gave Caroline, which Lizzie then gave Hope for the Miss Mystic Falls pageant.
But one of the most asked questions after Legacies Season 1 -- beyond What's Going To Happen With Hope? -- was if Penelope Park (Lulu Antariksa) would return.
Penelope is a brand new Legacies character, showing that Legacies can stand on its own. It doesn't need to have Vampire Diaries/Originals characters return, but since it's a spinoff it does make sense to see certain past characters pop in.
Julie Plec said she can't make promises on any characters for Legacies Season 2 -- from Penelope to Caroline, Kai, and beyond -- because there are so many factors involved. But cross your fingers for good news as Season 2 filming approaches over the summer. That's when we should get more firm details on who might be back and for how long, before the fall 2019 premiere on The CW.
Who would you most like to see return for Legacies Season 2?

Will the tvdu ever end? Watch Plec have Hope or one the twins give birth to a super super special baby and then another spinoff will take off.
I think Legacies will be the end of it unless @spell-cleavers achieves her dream and TVD is rebooted.

(I know I have rewritten this series, many times but after taking the time to plot out the first book as a spinoff series to other supernatural series.I've started Mallus Maleficarum, the first book in the series.
I decided to set it in New York City since it was my hometown. The feeling I have for the story is a supernatural forbidden love story as the trio fall for each other amidst a prophecy that sees Darius as the one to bring about the end of witch-kind.
Also I wanted to explore what it means to be a supernatural of color since the TVDU doesn't deal with that very well.My story also includes characters or mentions from other series such as Antoinette being friends with Sekido.
In this book,I wanted to make my Trio's bond be a slow burn to build their bond because they are the Golden Trio of the TVDU.
