Constantine was someone who thought that there could be alliances in hell, but even those he thought friendship was impossible, this changed with Serenity, but it was a very sloooooow process. Even then, at first, instead of calling Serenity a friend, Constantine says this "she is tolerable or I find her amusement."So it really was a long process of acceptance for him.

And yes! Although Constantine had no friends when he was young, he spent a lot of time with people at his age: his cousins, or other high nobles like Verdelet!

And I read that short story and loved it!!Constsntine's training sequence, the dialogues between him and Verdelet, everything!! I really loved the dialogues and dynamics of Verdelet and Constantine. It was great to read the little adventure between them!!

And I love brothel story arcs for some reason too.Strangely, very rich story arcs can occur in brothels. I always think of the Yoshiwara arc in Gintama, it was a really great arc.

Also, the scenes where Verdelet takes Constantine to the brothel and they live there were beautiful!

Definitely! In general, everything that is old seems more artistic to me, even the rain pipes on buildings.

Now it's time to talk about short stories. The short story between Azrael and Abaddon was simply a masterpiece.I loved the dialogues between them, their protection details were very nice.I really liked Abaddon's personality, you really created a beautiful character.

Michael's idea of giving Charlie and Constantine a blessing to prevent them from going to the dark side was really interesting.At least it clearly worked on Charlie. 2x cinnamon rolls

And Azrael taking care of Lucifer's ducks was so sweet!!

I'm seriously excited to see abaddon in the future.

Alrighty, here's my next fanfic !!! I think this one was requested by @littleh0esaccountnumber2 Alec and Nick will be celebrating their one-year anniversary together since they started dating !!! (the lovelies omg) so yeah, I hope you guys enjoy this one, I love you all <33333

Disclaimer: swearing, arguing

My eyes fling open as my alarm blares. I slap my palm down on my phone screen, and the rhythmic beeping stops.

I groan and sit up in bed. I feel around on my nightstand, then grab a hold of my glasses and prop them up on my nose. I stretch before flinging my blanket off my legs.

I walk over to my bedroom door and grab a hair tie from around the knob. I tie my hair into a ponytail, then turn the knob and open the door.

I walk out into the kitchen and open the fridge. I grab an egg, a carton of buttermilk, and a stick of butter. I set the items on the island and walk over to the pantry.

I grab a couple things: flour, white sugar, brown sugar, salt, vanilla extract, baking soda, cocoa powder, and chocolate chips.

I place all my ingredients on the island as I take them out of the pantry.

I open up a cabinet above the stove and grab two bowls, my electric mixer, and a heart shaped cookie cutter.

If I’m going to make cookies for me and Nick’s one year anniversary since we’ve been together, I’m going to make them in theme.

I place the two bowls next to my ingredients.

I rub my hands together. “Alright. Let’s get to work.”

I start by mixing the dry ingredients together, and then the wet. I plug in the mixer and slowly mix the two bowls together. I open the bag of chocolate chips and pour them in the dough, then continued mixing.

I’m surprised Nick didn’t wake up from the noise of the mixer. Honestly, he would still be sleeping if a train ran through his bedroom in the middle of the night.

I finish mixing the dough, then grab a sheet of Saran Wrap and tie it over the top of the bowl with an elastic band. I open the fridge and put the bowl inside.

I start to sort my ingredients back into their original spots. As I was putting the bag of flour back into the pantry, I hear my phone ringing from my bedroom.

I quickly shut the pantry door and rush to my room. I unplug my phone off its charger and look at the caller ID. It was a group call from my band!

I quickly pick up the call and am greeted by Rooney’s ginormous forehead in the camera.

I stifle a laugh and say, “Rooney, what the fuck?” I snapped a FaceTime photo of him. “That’s mine now.”

“Hey!” he screamed at me. He pulled his phone away from his face, showing his long black hair flowing behind his back. He must’ve just gotten out of bed; he always keeps it in a bun.

I just laughed again. “I mean, do you seriously expect me not to take a picture of that. That’s comedy gold! I can use this as serious blackmail!”

“I swear to God, Alec-”

“Dude, chill. I’m not actually going to do anything with it.”

"You better not."

"I mean, I don't really have to send it to anybody. All your fans can clearly see that big of a fucking forehead you possess."

"Alec, I am going to come down to England and beat your ass."

I shook my head. "Nuh-uh, Russia boy."

Rooney sighed. "Turkish."

"Emo."

"I'm not emo!"

"Then why are your songs so damn sad!?"

"It's a music style!"

"What are you two fighting about now?" Luke says, raising an eyebrow, his daughter wrapped around his neck.

I didn't even realize Luke had joined the call. "Luke? When did you join the call?"

"The first thing I heard was "Russia boy."' He makes air quotes on the last two words.

Juan joins the call, barely awake. "Guys, Mason is snoring so fucking loud right now and I can't sleep."

I laugh. "That's Nick. He can snore pretty fucking loud sometimes too."

Our call drags on slowly.

I check the time on my phone. Damn, it's already been 30 minutes?

I rush over to the kitchen and place my phone against the roll of paper towels on the counter. I preheat the oven and then run over to the fridge and grab my bowl of red velvet cookie dough.

I grab a baking tray out of the cabinet and place it as quietly as I can on the counter.

I start to scoop the cookie dough onto the tray. The call had gotten awfully silent.

Then Juan started singing one of our old songs "Blister on my Heart." He was singing it really awful too.

Rooney laughs. "Shut the fuck up, man."

Juan stops singing and raises an eyebrow, then wags his finger very slowly back and forth across the camera.

Rooney opens his mouth to say something but is interrupted by very loud typing coming from Luke.

I raise an eyebrow and ask, "Luke, why are you typing so aggressively?"

"I know I type very loud, but I just can't help it!"

"What are you even typing?" Juan asks, pulling his blanket up over his mouth.

"Just an email to my producer. I just finished writing a new single and I'm sending him the music documents."

The silence continues on.

As I scoop the last bit of cookie dough out of the bowl, I pick up the tray and hold it in front of my phone, then drop the dough onto the tray so it falls down in front of the camera.

"Bro, what are you even making cookies for?" Rooney asks.

I slide oven mitts on my hands and slip the tray in the oven. "One year ago today, me and Nick started dating. I just thought I'd make him... an anniversary gift!" I wink. "He really adores my baking too."

Juan gasped and shouted, "Rizz!?"

I rolled my eyes and washed my hands in the kitchen sink.

"It is true though," Luke says. "The way to get to a man's heart is through his stomach. Trust me, when my wife cooks or bakes it makes me so happy. It's like she spikes the food with love potion or something."

"Or you just like to eat food," Rooney says.

Luke just rolls his eyes and continues typing.

I pick my phone up off the counter and say, "Alright guys, I'm going to hang up. I need to make sure Nick doesn't wake up before these cookies are done."

Juan yawns and says, "Okie dokie."

Rooney flashes me a thumbs up.

Luke just continues typing.

"Bye," I say, and before any of them can say anything, I hang up.

I go into my bedroom and grab A Tale of Two Cities off my bookshelf. I walk back out into the living room, sit on the sofa, cross one leg over the other, and start reading.

3 chapters into the classic, and the oven beeps. The sweet smell of chocolate fills the room. My cookies are done!

I place my book face down on the sofa cushion and rush into the kitchen. I slip the oven mitts back onto my hands and open the oven, then pull the tray of cookies out and place them on top of the stove. I slip the oven mitts off and place them on the island. Then, I go back into the living room and pick my book back up to give the cookies some time to cool.

Once the cookies have cooled off, I walk back into the kitchen and grab a cookie rack. I transfer the cookies into neat rows on the rack, then go into the fridge and grab the piping bag of white icing I had prepared the night before.

I start piping "A+N" on all the cookies. After I finish, there's still a little icing left in the bag so squeeze it into my mouth and throw the piping bag away.

I look at my work, then rush into my bedroom and grab the bouquet of roses and card I bought for Nick last night when I went "grocery shopping".

I place the bouquet on its side above the cookie rack, then place the envelope on top of the bouquet. I had bought one of those cards that shoot heart shaped glitter at you when you open the card. That'll surprise him. I also bought two Billy Joel concert tickets: one for me, one for him, so we can go together. On the inside of the card I wrote, "Me? You? Billy Joel at 8PM tonight? P.S. Happy 1 year anniversary, Nicky xoxo - Alec."

He has a nickname for me, so I decided I'd give him one back. I don't know if Nicky is going to live up to Sexyback though.

Now, to wait until Nick wakes up. Hi ho, hi ho, back to my book I go.

My reading is disturbed when two warm arms wrap around my neck from behind.

I smile and lean my head back against the top of the couch.

"Hey baby," I say, closing my eyes.

I feel Nick's warm lips encompass mine. Once his lips leave mine, I open my eyes to see him smiling down at me, a warm blush on his face.

He ruffles my hair and walks around the side of the sofa to sit next to me. He kisses my cheek and says, "Happy anniversary, sexyback."

I get to my feet and grab his hand, pulling him off the sofa. I walk behind him and place my hands over his eyes.

He chuckles softly and says, "Alec? What are you doing?"

I smile and say, "Just walk."

I direct him into the kitchen, standing right in front of the island where his surprise was.

"Ready?" I ask him.

He giggles and says, "I guess."

"Okay," I say, smiling and removing my hands from his eyes.

He blinks a couple times, then looks down at the island and gasps. He turns around to face me and hugs me.

"Oh, you do too much," Nick says, rubbing my back.

I let go of the hug and kiss his cheek. "Oh, come on! You literally spent so much money on me on my birthday!"

He snatches a cookie off the tray and says, "Money can't buy your baking." He takes a bite of the cookie and his face practically melted.

I take a cookie off the tray and take a bite as well. "It can, if I start a business."

"Why don't you?" he asks as he takes another bite.

"I don't have the money."

He pulls his wallet out of his back pocket and holds it up. "I do."

I knock his wallet out of his hand and shove my body against his. "I don't need to start a business when I have you. You'll eat my baking for free without even thinking about it, and even having you in my life is more than money could ever give me."

He wraps his arms around me and kisses the top of my head. "I love you so much, Alec."

I shake my head and say, "I love you more."

I let go of Nick and say as I eat the last bite of my cookie, "Open the card."

He finishes his cookie as well and picks the envelope up off the bouquet of roses. He flips open the envelope and pulls the card out. He slowly reads the front, then opens up the card.

I have to stifle my laugh as red heart-shaped glitter explodes in Nick's face. He stares at me in shock. Then he laughs out loud.

"What the hell, Alec?" He picks up some of the glitter that had fallen onto the island and threw it at me.

I laugh and dodge his hit. "Did you see what was inside the card?"

He raises an eyebrow and asks, "There was something other than glitter in the card?"

I gesture to the two tickets that had fallen out of the card onto the island. Nick picks them up and wipes the glitter of them. He looks at them for a while, then smiles and reads the inside of the card.

He looks over at me, his eyes glittering, his smile wide. "Really!?"

I nod and smile. He drops the tickets and the card onto the pile of glitter on the island, then threw his arms around my neck and pulled me close.

"You're actually the best."

I pat his back. "I try my best."

He pulls away from the hug and says, still smiling, "I can't wait to see your reaction to my gift."

I smirk. "What'd you get me?"

"I can't tell you."

"Why?"

"You know how gifts work, Alec."

"Please?"

"You'll see when you get it later tonight."

My jaw drops. "Tonight!? Come on, you know I can't wait that long!"

"The wait will be worth it."

I groan. "Fine. But just because I love you."

He chuckles and boops my nose. "That's what I thought."

Suddenly, his phone rings. He untangles himself from me and pulls his phone out of his back pocket. He looks at the screen, then says to me, "Hold on a second."

I nod as he picks up the phone and puts it to his ear. "Hello?"

I hear warbled talking come from his phone.

Whatever that person said to Nick was very shocking because his eyes widen and his eyes start filling with tears.

A tear rolls silently down his cheek and falls onto the floor. I can hear the person on the other end hang up the phone.

His hand drops to his side and more tears drop from his eyes. His phone falls out of his hand and he closes his eyes, then drops to the ground on his knees.

I kneel down next to him and put my hand on his shoulder. “Nick?”

He slaps my hand away.

I take my hand back and stand back up. “Are you okay?”

“Leave me alone,” he whispers.

“I’m just trying to help you.”

“I said leave me alone!” he screams at me.

My brow furrows. “Well, can you at least tell me what happened?”

He wipes tears from his eyes and stands back up. “No, I can’t!”

“Well, I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s wrong!”

“I don’t want your help! I want to be left alone!” Another tear rolls down his cheek. “Can you please just go away?” he whispers into his hands.

For some reason, all I can feel right now is anger. I throw my hands up in the air and scream at him, “Fine!” I storm off to my bedroom.

I slam the door shut behind me and sit my ass down angrily on the side of my bed.

For a second, I sat there, staring at my feet, fuming with anger. Then a tear fell down my cheek. Then came another. And another.

Soon I was sobbing. Guttural cries came from my throat, and tears poured out of my eyes like two rivers.

Then I calmed down. A quick breakdown was all I needed.

God, I hate arguing so bad.

I had there, my head resting in my wet tear-stained hands.

Suddenly, I hear my bedroom door open.

I know exactly who enters the room, but I keep my face in my hands. I hear my bed creak as Nick sits down next to me.

Nothing happens.

Then, I feel him lay his head on my shoulder. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry." His voice still sounds gravelly.

I don't reply.

He picks his head up off my shoulder, then rubs my arm with his hand. He pulls my arm away from my face and holds my hand in both of his, rubbing my palm with his thumbs.

I look over at him, my face still in my other palm. He genuinely looks guilty. Now I feel bad for crying.

I take my face out of my other hand and wipe the tears off on my pajama pants. Then I take my glasses off my face and wipe the tears off the lenses on my pants as well.

I sniff and wipe away my tears, then prop my glasses back up on my nose. Nick takes my other hand and hold them tightly in his.

He looks down at our hands and says, "I'm sorry I lashed out at you like that. My mom called and told me my dad... had a heart attack and died last night. She was going to call me as soon as she got the news, but she didn't want to disturb my sleep, so she decided to call me this morning. She didn't know it was our anniversary today, so I don't blame her for dropping that on me but... I just get angry when I'm sad so I'm sorry for making you cry. You didn't deserve that; you did absolutely nothing wrong."

I sniff and say, "I'm sorry about your dad. I can just cancel the dinner reservations I made us tonight if you just want to stay home."

He wraps his arms around my neck and presses his body against mine. "No, keep the reservations. Just because my dad died last night, that doesn't mean we can't celebrate our anniversary. This is so special to the both of us, and I can't just let this bug me all day."

I raise an eyebrow at him. "But aren't you sad?"

"Yeah, I'm sad. But you know what would really help? Spending the day with the guy I love."

I blush and he kisses me on the cheek, then hoists himself onto my lap, his arms still around my neck. He rests his head in the space in between my neck and shoulder.

I wrap my arms around his back and hold him on my lap tightly. He presses his body closer to mine, which adds a lot of pressure on me and knocks me backwards, taking Nick with me.

I roll onto my side, Nick still wrapped around me, and we curl up on the bed next to each other. He's really warm and soft. I never truly noticed.

God, I love him so much.

I feel him place a soft kiss on my neck. I tighten my grip on him and rub his back.

“I’m sorry,” he says into my neck.

I kiss the top of his head and ask, “What are you apologizing for?”

“I still feel bad for snapping at you. I know how you get when you’re arguing and I… didn’t want to make you feel that way.”

I just run my fingers through his hair and say, “I love you.”

“Are you sure?” he murmurs.

I sigh and smile. “I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love-”

He laughs and shoves his hand over my mouth. “Oh my God, shut up! I love you too, asshole!”

I laugh and I kiss him. “What do we do all day? My dinner reservations aren’t until 4:00 o’clock and it’s only 11:00 AM.”

He nudges his head into my chest and says, “We could just… lay here and take a nap together.”

I smile and kiss the top of his head. “Alright. Let’s actually get comfortable though.”

He laughs and we shimmy up towards my pillows, still intertwined with each other.

I guess teamwork really does make the dream work because our heads were quickly upon my pillow. We share a pillow because how else are we going to cuddle if we’re really separate from each other?

I don't ever remember falling asleep, but I wake up in Nick's arms, his head lying on top of mine, our legs tangled together.

He's already awake because I feel him running his fingers through my hair lightly, humming under his breath.

I smile and slowly lift my head to look at him. He stops humming and looks down at me, smiling.

"Good morning, sunshine," he says.

I blush and lean up to kiss him. He quickly kisses me back.

I let go of the kiss, then smile and ask him, "What time is it?"

He peeks at his watch and says, "3:30."

"Ah, shit! We got to get ready!" I untangle from his arms and get up off the bed, then rush over to my bureau and start rummaging through my clothes. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

He laughs and says, "Relax, will you? We still have 30 minutes." He sits up on the edge of the bed. "I didn't want to wake you up because you just looked so comfortable and calm. I couldn't do it. Plus, I really enjoyed cuddling with you like that."

I blush but keep my face towards my bureau.

He just laughs and gets up from my bed. "I'll go get dressed, to save you the heart attack."

I roll my eyes as he kisses me on the cheek and leaves my bedroom.

This whole night has been amazing. Dinner was great.

Me and Nick took a walk in the park next to our house and we met this other gay couple who recognized us from Disventure Camp! We talked to them for a while, and they were really nice.

One guy, named Mack, said he thought we hated each other and is surprised that we are together. I told him we are over our differences. The other guy, Jamie, said he shipped us ever since season 1 ended but he never thought we'd actually end up being together.

After our walk, we went back home to retrieve the concert tickets, and I drove us over to the venue.

That's where we are now. We are standing in the middle of the crowd, side hugging, a drink in our hands, watching and listening as Billy Joel sings Piano Man.

We are singing along with the song, swaying back in forth in each other's arms.

Nick lays his head on my shoulder and closes his eyes, feeling the music. I kiss the top of his head and whisper, "I love you so much." I close my eyes and lay my head ono top of his.

After the concert, Nick blindfolds me and drives the car. I guess it's time for my present.

The car stops and he says to me, "I'll be back." He kisses me on the cheek and leaves the car.

I wait in silence, whistling My Life by Billy Joel. The song has been stuck in my head since he played it at the concert.

After a long while, Nick comes back and opens the back door of the car. He places something heavy in the backseat, then shuts the back door and gets back in front of the steering wheel.

I smile and say, "Nick, I'm starting to get suspicious."

I feel him press his lips to mine. When he pulls back, he says, "I promise you're going to love this gift."

I just shake my head and say, "Still suspicious though."

He just laughs and starts the car back up.

When we get home, he loads the present into the house, then comes back to the car to lead me into the house.

"Am I still not allowed to take the blindfold off?" I ask, holding my arms out in front of me to make sure I don't bump into anything.

"Nope."

"Not even while opening the present?"

"Nope."

"Then how am I supposed to know what it is?"

"Oh, trust me. You'll know what it is when you feel it."

I raise an eyebrow and say, "That sounds really wrong out of context."

"Alec!"

I laugh. "I'm joking!"

Nick stops walking. "Alright, just sit on the floor."

"On the floor?"

"Yes. There's more space on the floor for this particular present."

I just roll my eyes under the blindfold and shrug.

He pushes something in front of me. "Open the box."

I don't say a word. I just feel around in front of me, then open the box.

I reach inside and feel around the inside. My hand lands on something small and furry. I pick it up and feel it more thouroughly.

Very long, four long bits sticking out of the bottom, another long bit at the end, two floppy bits at the top... Then, it squirms.

Then I realize what he got me.

I gasp and remove one hand from the present to pull the blindfold off my eyes. In my hands was a brown dachshund puppy. It looks up at me and wags it's tail.

"Awww!" I hug the puppy tight to my chest. "Boy or girl?"

"Girl."

"What's her name?"

"She doesn't have one yet. That's up to you to decide."

"You mean I can name her?"

Nick nods.

I smile and take a good look at the puppy. She squirms around in my hands, trying to lick my face. I lift her up so she can lick me.

I laugh, then look at Nick. "She seems like a Poppy, don't you think?"

Nick smiles and says, "Poppy sounds like a perfect name."

I just laugh as Poppy licks my face.

Later on, I'm sitting on the couch watching Sleeping Beauty. Well, my eyes are completely focused on Poppy.

She's sleeping on a pillow on the couch in a little bagel shape.

Nick sits down on the couch next to me and says, "What you watching?"

I avert my gaze from the puppy to lay my head on Nick's shoulder. "Sleeping Beauty."

"Again?"

"You know it's one of my favorite Disney movies."

"Probably because you're a sleeping beauty."

I blush and lightly slap him on the arm, laughing.

The movie just got to the part where Aurora and Phillip are dancing together in the forest.

Nick elbows me and points to the TV. "Us?"

I look at him and say, "You want that to be us?"

He just looks and me and nods, blushing.

I get up off the couch and grab his arm, pulling him off the couch with me. "Well, come on then!"

He laughs. Once he's securely in my arms, we start dancing with Once Upon A Dream playing in the background. Our relationship is just like this. So unreal, so... so... once upon a dream!

That's a terrible metaphor but I don't know how else to describe it. God, I just love him so much.

What a happy anniversary this has been after all.

Billboard USA Exclusion Zone Episode 16 (06/17/2023)

I'm so excited for this week not gonna lie. Yes it's mostly because of Metro Boomin Spiderverse mini album bomb which crossed over to the Global Excl US chart. But looking at the new entries and I just realized the scope of what "global music chart excluding America" really like because damn this is a very chaotic week.

8. "Sprinter" by Dave & Central Cee

It's kinda interesting to see a grime song having its biggest debut as I do think that grime might be the next big thing in Europe around 4 years ago. I do think this song has a good beat, but the lyrics man are just bad. One particular highlight is talking about Central Cee hooking up with a feminist...seriously.

15. "S-Class" by Stray Kids

Well I found another penis music-core again and it's due to the chorus which...what's up with the melody here?

20. "Los del Espacio" by LIT killah, Maria Becerra, FMK, Rusherking, Duki, Emilia, Tiago pzk & Big One

Remember that posse cut Te Bote that somehow became a hit in 2018? Well we got another one of those posse cut here with all of these artists. All I can say here is that it's at least more upbeat and fun than Te Bote. Apparently this type of posse cut is a big thing in Argentina alongside BZRP Music Session. I love how it changes genres so that it didn't felt stale. Good stuff.

27. "Popular" by The Weeknd ft. Playboi Carti & Madonna

From what I heard, The Idol is another show about exploitation in the entertainment industry? I mean there's already Oshi no Ko and Perfect Blue that have done this concept better but hey just like the former, we have a pop song to go along with it. Now this is one of the few Abel songs that I actually enjoy. 2000's pop-n-b is a perfect fit for Abel and I want Madonna like this. Oh btw fuck Playboi Carti, he didn't add anything to this song but a nuisance.

42. "Ta OK" by DENNIS E MC Kevin O Chris

I think you know how big of an impact streaming and TikTok has in music being more decentralized that we have high debut for Reginal Brazilian song that only ran one and a half minutes.

51. "Calling" by Metro Boomin, Swae Lee, & Nav ft. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie

Short review for Across the Spiderverse: One of the best animated movies of all time go watch it if you haven't already. Now for the soundtrack though, I would say it's consistent and played it straight. But because of that, there's no standout songs unlike say Sunflowers or What's Up Danger. But Metro is still a great producer and this song is a great example. I love Swae Lee hook, NAV gave his best performance ever, and A Boogie didn't embarrassed himself here. I hope this became a radio hit...but I want this to be bigger.

61. "Annihilate" by Metro Boomin, Swae Lee, Lil Wayne & Offset

When the beat to this song was used in the movie I felt chill and really showed the scope and the eerieness of the Spider Society looked like. I do think that Offset should do more than his basic verse, but Lil Wayne just go off in this song. I don't know why he always turned up in these CBM films' soundtracks but I approve it.

62. "Am I Dreaming" by Metro Boomin, ASAP Rocky & Roisee

The production saved it from being mediocre. That string and the percussion is just immaculate and showed that he can do more than his typical trap rap stuff given the budget. Roisee got too much filter on her and ASAP Rocky just doing decent here.

77. "El Cielo" by Sky Rompiendo ft. Feid & Myke Towers

I think I'm kinda sick of Feid but with this song, I'll give him another chance because I like the groove and the atmosphere of this song.

79. "Pişman Değilim" by Semicenk ft. Doğu Swag

We got another first here as this is the first Turkish song I am reviewing. And wow this sounds like 2016-17 pop rap stuff complete with the piano, blocky percussion, and strong hook.

103. "Lilith" by Halsey ft. SUGA

So apparently Diablo IV came out recently and seems like video game devs seeing the success of Enemy, are gonna hired musicians to soundtrack their games. Here's one observation of this song, this beat is actually great. But seems like SUGA just cannot ride the beat well.

114. "Makeba" by Jain

This song has one of the tightest bass I've ever heard this year so far. Of course beside that this song seems to be influenced by some Arabic element to it by the sandy feel of the production. It's just a good song.

116. "Obsessed" by Riar Saab ft. Abhijay Sharma

I think I knew that this week is gonna be the most diverse one I've covered when right after a song from French artist that had Arabic influence, I got a punjabi rap song that blew up in Canada.

153. "Self Love" by Metro Boomin & Coi Leray

This is definitely the most underrated song from the Spiderverse album. I love the lowkey pop trap sound juxtaposed with Coi Leray voice which I would describe as if Playboi Carti going pop. And I love this song because the lyrics can be about anything, but the voice clip of Gwen at the end of the song made it seems like it was her song and I love that kind of soundtrack writing.

163. "Tere Vaaste" by Varun Jain, Schin-Jigar, Shadab Faridi & Altamash Faridi

Last time I talked about the soundtrack from this movie it was a ballad. Now we got the upbeat song here...which is still kinda lowkey. But as someone who only watched like bollywood movies from the 80's and 90's, hearing synthetic percussion in this song does threw me off.

186. "Topline" by Stray Kids ft. Tiger JK

...At least the trumpet is good here???

190. "All The Way Live" by Metro Boomin, Future & Lil Uzi Vert

I think this is the weakest song on the album which is such a shame. I love it when Future on Metro's production, but he's kinda checked out here. The production does saved it but this is indeed sounded like above average Baby Pluto song.

193. "Me Entere" by Tiago Pzk & TINI

Tiago Pzk was supposed to be the next big thing in reggaeton scene...and then he just didn't. Anyways this song is too bouncy even for me.

I highly recommend everyone to listen to these songs

Lithuania REAL SHAME about this staging. it's a nice song and aiste has a great voice clearly but she doesn't have the right kind of stage presence for this. the dancing around that she was doing didn't feel right for this genre, it was discordant and distracting. also the pink lighting didn't work. if i could go back in time and fix this i'd tell the lithuanian delegation to keep the camera close on her upper body at all times.

Belgium nice song nice voice well staged but she's too damn quiet. i can't really hear her. especially at the beginning. sad bc i have no other complaints about this one except for maybe "is that guy blowing into a horseshoe crab?".

Spain she's a good singer so it's a shame about that dress. also, the verses are kind of boring and i only really enjoy the chorus. also, i keep misremembering this song as having the tune of a bosnian song called "zena svijetom upravlja" or something like that that a friend of mine submitted to a tumblr fancontest forever ago. also also, did i mention that dress? distracting.

Croatia love the "ah-ah-ah-ah"s in the chorus. favorite thing about this song. (maybe because that's what's familiar because that's the thing that everyone puts in the fourth place compilation recap vids or whatever). she looks nice in that dress i guess but something feels kind of off with the staging. i can definitely tell that this followed immediately after dana international. there's something in the way she's moving that's making it clear she's trying to imitate dana in some way.

UK i love this one!! love a girl band, the main singer is really good, and those silver outfits are great. that "say it again, say yeah" is the most catchy/memorable line i've heard so far tonight that i hadn't already seen in a recap video. unfortunately one of the girls was a little pitchy in the high harmonies and that got on my nerves a little.

Slovenia i mean i don't love it but there's nothing to hate about it really. she sounds good. nice classic eurovision ballad.

Turkey this is every turkish entry ever, right? it's not bad really it's just not my speed. i spent most of my time watching this thinking about danish barbershop quartet the clementones and admiring the stage, because this year's stage is cool. more on that later.

Norway ngl kind of disappointed? the dance routine was good, i guess? idk it's not my kind of song and he wasn't great vocally. and that shirt wsa sort of. a choice. didn't work imo.

Denmark you can always count on denmark to do a good happy duet with a guitar. love this. if they hadn't fucked up that very last note this would have been absolutely perfect to me. <3

France like if that song "free fallin'" got eurovision'd.

Netherlands early dutch country is also every eurovision song that follows it for the next like 5-6 years, more at 10! nah but it's alright. and she's pretty, which helps. the song started before she started singing and i was like "?? this is gonna be so good?" and then i remembered it was the netherlands and my expectations instantly went medium. lol.

Poland great belt on this man. not like a literal belt but like his voice near the end when he's belting his high notes, that's good. good tone. song's ok i guess.

Iceland this song slams and i fucking love it in studio but the staging was... a little too over the top, tbh?

Cyprus her voice isn't a good fit. the slow start goes on for just a little too long and she's just kind of shrill.

Sweden it's good, i can see why it won, but her outfit is just so MUCH. i hope it was a candidate for barbara dex. the eyeshadow. the flesh colored fabric underneath the pretend crop top. no thank you charlotte.

Portugal not bad. rui bandeira is kind of a guy who looks like a girl who looks like a boy iykwim. idk it kinda sounds like all the other ones.

Ireland this song is too low for them and it does funny things to their tone quality. too much vibrato.

Austria she's cute, i like the guitar line, this is very radio-friendly and american in a way that allowed me to like... yes tune out but not tune all the way out and just kind of vibe.

Israel it is a sign of how brainpoisoned i have become that i saw a quartet of guys on the stage and thought, "ah yes, the guy in the different shirt is the lead, he has the tenor and the bass on either side of him, and the other guy is the bari". i'm in hell. good song though. i mean i guess. why is it happy birthday?

Malta their harmonies aren't really locking. given, i have a much higher bar for that these days due to the aforementioned brainpoison, but still, some of these chords are heinous. also the song is just sort of not good.

Germany song is alright except for the bridge which is unnecessarily cheesy. i mean, even for the thing that it is, which is a eurovision song.

Bosnia & Herz d... dino merlin? idk this one is weird, they're like conjugating french verbs or something and also this one was muted in the video archive i had and the dino merlin official youtube upload had terrible audio quality so i feel like i can't really judge it

Estonia the onstage aesthetic vibe of this is beautiful, and i like the song, too. it's a shame that it's not a good vocal fit for evelin. a clear precursor to randajad and good use of the stage too.

Miscellaneous commentary the little cgi tour of europe at the beginning was cute. but also very funny because of how squished together and contiguous everything was. lmao @ the host greeting the "distinguished guests" and everyone there in nice clothes. like wow the contest has changed in 20 years obsessed with these postcards btw. cartoon eve fully tits out. jesus represented as a hot guy in a suit. joseph and his brothers singing in barbershop harmony. the baby moses video game. priceless recaps are so short? i already have a hard time remembering how each song goes but like the recap snippets help absolutely not at all lol at the sun prop. it was a really excellent stage, honestly, a lot of contestants were able to use it really well, but after last year's debacle i just kept giggling whenever i saw the thing move. overall like...it's hard to judge the songs in this era, it's hard to rank them, because really i don't like most of them? like they just aren't really my style. i feel like for many of the 90s rankings the margins between songs are going to be very thin and i'm going to have trouble remembering a lot. i don't listen to a lot of 90s music so it's like... ok? sure? do i even know if this is good? no i don't!
