So we all argee that Derek listens to stiles heartbeat yes? Yes. Anyway headcannon.

At first Derek founds stiles annoying. Even in his resting state, stiles was loud. His very state of being demands attention. And Derek hates it. Until the day stiles has a panic attack in front of him. Derek is afraid, listening to stiles having a panic attack, hearing Stiles’ heart sound like a cacophony of screams. It’s wrong, it’s far too fast and far to loud. Hearing his lungs struggle to breathe. Derek has never hated a sound more in his life.

Derek can’t get the sound out of his head. It haunts him. Playing over and over like a reminder of morality. It sounds like death.

So he starts to pay extra attention to stiles and his heart beat, allowing it to wash over him. Listening to the rhythm — reminding himself that stiles is alive and okay. He can identify when stiles starts to panic and stop it before it becomes anything. He know stiles heart beat like it’s his own, so he notices when the rhythm changes. Even if it just skips a beat.

He doesn’t realize that he beginning to use it as an anchor, as stiles as an anchor, until the day they’ve been kidnapped and stiles heart starts to slow.

While I obviously adored every single big Dorian moment last episode, I truly appreciate all these small details about him that were revealed.

Dorian humming to himself when he gets nervous and blanking in big crowds. Dorian locking up at physical affection when he is not initiating it. Dorian's voice dropping when talking to his dad/authority figures.

#non mdzs #The real mood of this comic is:#AKA: you are in charge of designing a character but have only been given personality as a reference.#This was technically for a game dev meeting and I am part of a team rather than a contractor hired on.#But hey the anxiety going into this was still crazy high. I was playing a risky gambit.#Part two of this comic is me putting all those clowns on a powerpoint and presenting them in front of a few people.#Pointing at them and saying “Okay which clown do you like best? How can we sex up this clown more?”#I think I may be giving the impression that I’m more into clowns than I actually am. It just fit with the character okay!#I had to consult the REAL down-for-clowners for tips. Photos exchanged in the dark alleys of a discord server.#A hooded figure shakes their head at the first photo. Slowly nods as I add puffy sleeves.
