Dude, I also REALLY love Tugs, it scratches my itch as a fan of talking vehicles and boats in general, and it's still a shame that there isn't more outside of those 13 episodes. I'm just glad people like you are keeping the show alive in some way, I adore your gijinkas.

However, Grampus is my favorite character, and I don't recall seeing you draw him yet. Do you have any plans cooking up for him?

I heard there's 90-something scripts for more TUGS episodes unreleased to the public. they're just leaving us biting our nails for years to come!!!! thinking about it for too long makes me feel really sad because at this point I'm so desperate for any crumb for those tugboats that I have to check out the dreaded salty's lighthouse out of desperation.... genuinely a great show and it really stood out from other kids show at the time. it doesn't deserve the fate it got. I'm just doing what I have and want to do, haha! thank you for the kind words :)

I'm still thinking about how to make grampus' story make sense in fortezza bigg city, but I do have a design coming up! he represents the political aspect of fortezza bigg city's theme of "freedom". he's older than he looks, and I'd like to think he was freshly discharged from the navy. ten cents and sunshine think he's cool. he has rather complicated feelings towards the military and the government, thinking that they have steered away from their true purpose to defend citizens; believing that the military now consists of jingoistic patriots and high-ranking officers who use their positions for their personal advantage while simultaneously licking the shoes of those above them.

in the military, you don't get to decide your own nickname. your squadmates do, and it'll stick with you. during his training years, he got the nickname "grampus" from his platoon because his lisp, scrawny build, and overall demeanor reminded one of his squadmates of his own grandfather, thus grampus. they called him that when talking about him behind his back. eventually grampus went "last time I heard, cadet bradford, my name wasn't shankar."
