Noam Chomsky "genocide denier"
I cut my teeth reading Chomsky in the 80s and 90s. He has faced criticism over the decades for his opinions that are extremely critical of U.S. and Israel's militarism. After 9-11 this made him a pariah in the U.S. and his critics have taken to socials today with out of context quotes, or just outright smearing him with the label of "genocide denier."
Reddit thread on Bosnia Genocide comments Reddit thread on Cambodian genocide comments
I'm not saying take the redditor's words for it, I'm saying these articles are a decent place to start and reddit's search works better than tumblrs...Oh and you might accidentally read some Chomsky and that would be no bad thing.

Opened my inbox to see angry anons crying over some post where comparisons between Netanyahu and Hitler were drawn. How quick they are to jump to using words like 'holocause denier' and 'nazi' and whatever else. They choose to focus on such pointless things that don't matter one bit when you actually see what is happening in Palestine. No one cares about your policing anymore.
The scale of Palestinian genocide is similar and in some ways worse than what Hitler did in terms of numbers. Not sure why you all expect the world to talk about things only as you see fit. We're done catering to your versions of political correctness. In fact it sounds like you don't care about human rights as much as you like to pretend.
And some people use the Hitler comparison because 1. The statistics are very comparable and 2. That seems to make some people understand the situation more.
The internet is swarmed with horrific pictures of children without limbs, rotting babies, extremely emaciated starved people, Israelis shooting at old and young people, and extreme extreme evidence that leaves you sick just to look at. And you fucking come with your age old policing about how we're supposed to talk about it?????
I can't understand how one can have the energy and mindset to be theoretical and nitty picky with how we discuss the genocide when just following it on social media is soooo draining and depressing. We're not denying the holocaust you idiots...it's you who's denying what's happening nowadays.

This really is a situation that proves my grandpa right; good people do have the worst politics and should stay out of it.
The pig headed defense of Hamas, that might be a terrorist org - I don't care - but definitely is a radical extremist group. We know even from Palestinian people that Hamas does not represent them all and that Hamas does harm and hurt them too. Directly. But we of course cannot mention it because to the good people the victims need to be 'correct' and easy to identify.
Personally I don't care to debate Hamas and its tactics, but I don't need to because my support for Palestine is not based on vibes and emotions. And a need to be a good person.
The amount of misinformation that is so clumsily delivered I know it's self soothing; Israel has only jewish citizens, who are all blond/e and blue eyed btw (lol. Lmao even) so it's fine to "wipe it out" rn, some nuclear strikes are justified. OK. The jews have a victim mentality and what Israel is doing is so much worse than the holocaust. ... Ok
You click on that profile and it's a 18yo dumbass trying to be a good person amd their friends. Like genuinely they are trying and I can see it. But they have absolutely no idea to move past "goodness" so they can only operate on victim and dehumanized oppressor they couldn't identify yesterday.
Log out. For real. Go to a library and look at a map pre 1944 and understand that Palestines claim to the land is indisputable no matter how nice Israel could be or how shitty Palestine might decide to behave. Ground your political views in reality and history and fucking facts.

Grow some reading comprehension. Me mentioning news outlets was a means of expressing exactly how mainstream the idea of not forgetting the Oct 7 massacre is.
As in "Tumblr Users Could Not Forget October 7th Even If They Wanted To". As in, "If Tumblr Users Were Antisemitic Enough To Disregard October 7th, Mainstream Media Would Never Allow Anyone To Forget".
I don't see how so many people find it difficult to comprehend that some people just want the fighting to stop, and that Palestinian civilians have nothing to do with Hamas, no matter how many starving refugees the IDF decide to gun down in front of an aid truck.
Some of us desperately want to see some fucking reason why Israel, a nation born from the trauma of the fucking Holocaust, would be okay with the idea of funneling millions of civilians into one corner of the city only to prep a ground assault on the very same corner they were funneled to.
Some of us are struggling to fight of the notion that the Israeli government has no intention of rescuing those hostages and just wants to use them as an excuse to wipe out gaza and kick the Palestinians out of West Bank to have the land for themselves to like their government officials keep claiming they want to do.
I can't see any other reason why Israeli negotiators would insist on invading Rafah regardless of whether a ceasefire gets negotiated. Not like they've brought back more than a handful of the Hostages anyway, the rest of em? Gunned em down, or made efforts to flood the very tunnels they claim to be holding the hostages in.
So now, how else do you intend to twist my words to suit your worldview of a website devoid of any concern for 10/7 victims? You gonna claim my sources are "hamas propaganda" despite them all being mainstream news sites? Though I guess you don't seem the type to want to actually research your claims, unlike myself. Gets in the way of mob mentality, I've heard.

Are you Jewish cause no goyim ever seem to give a shit about us and you consistently refuse to let antisemitism slide
I'm not Jewish. I'm angry and heartbroken on behalf of Jewish people. Nothing about the horrors in the Levant is made better by the hypocritical and vitriolic hatred aimed at Jewish people world-wide. I've become very disillusioned with the political left, with whatever naive view of progress I thought existed when it comes to bigotry against Jews, and with young people in particular, who seem think aggressive noise and radical black-white thinking makes them progressive when sufficiently radicalized youth have been marching to the tune of dictators all through the previous century, doing their violence for them. People are refusing to allow nuance, to allow compassion, to hold several competing viewpoints at once. All that diffuse anger at the world that's so hard to turn into effective action is now conveniently unloaded on a conveniently tiny minority, in the most popular and most ordinary scapegoating routine of the past two millenia, repackaged with fancy new vocabulary - and surely this time it's different, this time it's justified. The relief, the glee with which the holocaust is snatched up as a rethorical weapon, as if it's a privilege that Jews have unjustly held these past 80 years that has finally been liberated from their manipulative nagging hands. This fetish of victimization as virtue that necessitates denying historical reality in order to justify attacking a group that spoils the simple narrative they would prefer. It's sickening.
I am angry, and I am heartbroken.
Tumblr used to be my escapist place. It still mostly is, because I have that privilege. Some things I can't scroll past, though.

Tumblr is still actively endorsing transphobia on this website. Reblog the fuck out of this.
Tumblr got back to me about a report for once... Just to tell me that the blatant transphobia I reported "does not violate community guidelines."
These are the posts which Tumblr staff decided should be kept on the platform, with screenshots.
Also, I apologize in advance for censoring the usernames of the transphobes in the screenshots. Tumblr does absolutely nothing to protect its trans users, so I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up getting in trouble instead, just for including their usernames. I will mention, however, that every transphobe had transphobic dogwhistles in their usernames and/or bio. Transphobes are not difficult to spot. Staff are just apathetic at best, and actively transphobic at worst.
Exhibit A: A post in which someone repeatedly and explicitly misgenders trans women, fearmongers about "trans ideology," uses transphobic dogwhistles, and denies the existence of transmisogyny. This isn't even the full post; it was an incredibly long transphobic tangent. The comments were full of transphobes as well. None of them were banned. Tumblr staff think this is okay.
Tumblr media
Exhibit B: A post in which someone delights in the idea of a trans person hurting themselves by "ripping at their surgery scars," with additional ableist undertones. Not a hypothetical trans person either; a real individual trans person. She was not banned.
Tumblr media
Exhibit C: A post in which a self-proclaimed TERF refers to consensual gender affirming surgeries as "forced surgeries" and frames trans people as "Nazis and fascists" just for trying to become comfortable in our own bodies. She did this in direct response to trans people celebrating their own surgeries. She was not banned.
Tumblr media
Exhibit D: A post in which someone says "transgenderism is erasing women" and blames the existence of misgendering and degendering on trans people, as if we aren't also hurt by those things frequently. She also said that trans women are "not women" in comments on her own post. She was not banned.
Tumblr media
Exhibit E: A post in which someone engages in a blatant form of Holocaust denial, by saying trans transgender and queer people "were not targeted" (while simultaneously casting doubt on the validity of those identities themselves by putting them in scare quotes). Trans persecution and book burnings are a well documented aspect of the Holocaust. This post was also reblogged by other transphobes. None of them were banned.
Tumblr media
@staff care to explain why you think these posts are okay? Would you like to tell us how and why these "don't violate community guidelines"? Did you learn nothing from the lawsuit that happened because of transphobia among staff? After everything that has happened, why is there still nothing being done about the rampant transphobia on this website?
Just curious.
Also, in case I get banned or this post gets deleted, here's an archived version of my post. Keep it tucked away somewhere.

every single time i see some goober on instagram (or here on tumblr for that matter) demonizing jews and israel, all I want to ask is:
1) what is your opinion on indigenous rights?
2) are jews white?
3) have you read hamas’ founding document (their 1988 charter)?
because these really get to the root of their hypocrisy. these so-called leftists always claim to support indigenous rights and land back movements until it comes to jewish people, because they have a fundamental lack of understanding of jewish history, jewish ethnic and racial ancestry and identity, and the relationship between jews and that land. (also it shows how American-centric their worldview is that they see this conflict almost exclusively through an overly-simplistic lens of color, wherein they see jews as white/white europeans and palestinians as a generalized, vague group of people of color who are only ever victims instead of as a complex group of people with their own history, culture, and identity). and you KNOW they haven’t read the charter because they sincerely believe this is all solely about “liberation from oppression” and have no idea about the very real and very violent direct, explicit antisemitism that is the very basis for Hamas’ ideology. their original charter completely denies that jewish people originate from the very same land they claim to originate from; they say that they only way for the three abrahamic faiths to coexist peacefully is under islamic rule and regulation (which if you know literally anything about how jews and christians were treated under dhimmi status you’d know that they were treated as second class citizens at best); They directly cite this verse from the quran as justification for a holy war against the jews — "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.” (and don’t even get me started that the charter also explicitly states that women are valuable to the movement... but only “because they are makers of men” and because they stay home and rear the children.) I’ll concede that their 2017 revised charter states that they have “no problem with the Jews”, however this is moot when you can easily find video after video of young children saying explicitly that they want to kill Jews (yahood) and eradicate them from the land. these kids aren’t being taught to separate Jews and Israel/Zionism like Hamas leads people to believe (like they have convinced you westerners to believe); make no mistake, it’s not about cleansing the land of only "zionists", it is about eliminating all jewish people, denying their equal claim to the land, and denying their autonomy and right to self-determination.
i strongly, STRONGLY disagree with israel’s policies towards palestinians. i fucking hate Netanyahu, i hate his cronies, i hate that they court the far right in israel, i hate everything regarding how they have handled and continue to handle this entire conflict. and EVERY single other jew i know feels the same way. but jews have been stepped on and abused and slaughtered by their muslim/christian/pagan neighbors for literally thousands of years at this point. they were murdered en masse within living memory (and updated estimates put the death toll of the Holocaust at somewhere between 10-12 million, by the way. we are still finding mass graves in eastern europe all the time). jews deserve to govern themselves and live in their historical ancestral homeland. palestinians also deserve to live in peace and security, and israel has a responsibility to ensure that. but i will never ever support the complete erasure of the state of israel because i fundamentally believe in jewish sovereignty and indigenous rights, regardless of how much time they’ve been away, especially considering they were forced out and into a diaspora -- their leaving the land was not their choice. if the notion of jews standing up and making a space for themselves and ensuring their security upsets you, then perhaps the world should have actually treated them as human beings instead of slaughtering them. if we say that antisemitism is part of this conversation, and that the antisemitism should be condemned, and your first instinct is to either deny or deflect, you really need to examine your own antisemitism and how you have been thinking about this.

Whats exactly...wrong? with the labrys flag, idk if its,my tumblr acting weird or what but im getting a "nothing found" page when i look for why its bad, My sincerest apologies if i come off as rude at all
It's always ok to ask and learn, anon!
I actually made an infographic a month or so ago, and I explained there why I don't like it.
But that being said!
The symbols being used are the Labrys axe and the Black triangle. The reasonings on their own make sense, with the triangle being used on lesbians, and the axe being the choice weapons of the Amazons, when paired they very much lose their meaning.
The black triangle was used on Romani women far more. The community still experiences the effects of the holocaust to this day while also having wiped out entire subgroups. People still regularly deny the Rroma being targeted in the holocaust, which only perpetuates the effects of it longer.
The labrys was used as a facist symbol, with one of the more well-known examples of it being Ordine Nuovo, which was a right-wing neo-nazi movement in the 1960s. Its flag was red with a white circle and black labrys in the center. This flag predates the Labrys
With this historical context, me having had family in the holocaust, and the fact that it's heavily used by TERFs, we won't be doing requests with the flag, I hope this helps!

Tumblr media
🇺🇸 This community on Tumblr, Sindicato Brasileiro, appears to be an antizionist space that promotes hostility towards the State of Israel and Jews. While its rules state that they are against racist, misogynistic, transphobic, and homophobic behaviors, the community, in a contradictory manner, allows the spread of ideas that fuel hatred against Israel and Zionism. Additionally, anyone identified as Zionist is blocked from the group, although the exact criteria for this designation are not specified. Antizionism is the opposition to the ideology of Zionism, which advocates for the right of the Jewish people to have a national state in their ancestral land, primarily in Israel. While not all antizionism is antisemitism, the two concepts often intersect in practices and discourse. Antisemitism is the hatred or discrimination against Jews, and it has existed for centuries in Europe, from medieval pogroms to the Holocaust (1939-1945). In spaces like Tumblr, antizionist communities can spread misinformation or hate disguised as political criticism.
Key facts:
Israel: Established in 1948 after the Holocaust.
Israeli-Palestinian conflict: A complex issue involving territories like Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank.
Modern antisemitism: Sometimes framed as antizionism but involves stereotypes or conspiracy theories against Jews.
Tumblr: Some groups ban Zionist discourse but promote one-sided narratives that may misinform.
✏️ Important note: Criticizing Israeli policies is not inherently antisemitic, but using stereotypes or denying Israel's right to exist is.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi @menalez, you know I thought I was being courteous by keeping quiet about my grievances with you and not airing them publicly but I guess that isn't mutual, if you really wanted to have a conversation with me you could've talked to me on discord, you're not blocked there.
when October 7th first happened I was unwell tbh and very confused, I thought the world went mad when a massacre against the Jewish state and Israelis (both Jewish and Arab but the majority were Jews and they were targeted for being Jewish) somehow made them hateful against Jewish people, even the diaspora, I was also very confused when the "feminists" of the world even the radical feminists remained silent on the mass rape used as a weapon against Israeli women or tried to deny and minimize it. This is gonna sound dramatic but I haven't been the same person ever since because I lost my trust in people, I don't trust anyone who has no sympathy for others based on their ethnicity and nationality.
and when I went to tumblr I saw that you were also sharing content from antisemites, although you tried to distance yourself from it, sure Hamas did kill babies and rape women, but it wasn't as bad as the media is making it out to be, as if there is a number of raped women and murdered babies that needs to be met before we recognize this as a genocidal act by Hamas? I tried to read what you shared and honestly the people you tried to refute (badly) made more sense to me.
I spent a huge portion of my time watching content about the conflict even when I am working, reading about it, talking to my friend about it, I sought out another friend of mine who is retired professor who has visited Israel multiple times to learn from her, I listened to Jewish people and Israelis and also to Palestinians, I shared articles from Palestinian authors and a Muslim woman about the war, I am reading a book by Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of one of Hamas' founders, I didn't listen to the ones who cheered on October 7th which is fair, terrorists and their supporters don't have integrity. so even though you said I "admitted I don't know shit" and I am "willfully ignorant" I am really not, I am not an expert, I wish I could read and learn more than what I am already doing but I work full-time on 5-6 hours of sleep then travel on the weekends to see my girlfriend, so I am sorry I didn't know much about Christian Zionists? I'd rather not run on my mouth over something I don't know much about, it doesn't make all of my other opinions invalid somehow. I've always been the type of person who tries to do at least some research before forming an opinion and being outspoken about it.
you also said I am brainwashed by my country's antisemitism and I am "rebelling" (which is so fucking condescending I am not a child trying to prove a point) but actually I never agreed that the holocaust was good and that Hitler was a hero like the majority of people around me did, even if I had problematic beliefs I would never agree with genocide. it's also interesting that you refer to this rightfully as propaganda but do you know which news channel was funneling this and playing in my house? it was Aljazeera, and you share from them all the time without a hint of scrutiny, of course anything Israel says must be met with scrutiny but anything coming out of Hamas and Qatar is trustworthy even though both are islamofascist that don't allow any freedom of press, very interesting.
so mena, as an Arabic speaker why don't you look into Aljazeera's Arabic websites and articles where they don't sugarcoat the antisemitism for the western audience and share them with your followers? or anything from Hamas' leaders? are you intentionally misleading them or just lazy? not sure which is worse.
I do have sympathy for middle eastern women and that includes Israeli women! Which is why I'll never support an Islamic state, they are the worst for women. There is more going on in the middle east than just western imperialism, not everything is the west's fault and even if it was we should have more accountability and not just overlook terrorism and other problems we have, prophet Mohammad didn't need Zionism or western imperialism to massacre the Jews of Banu Qurayza, which was so horrific I decided to fully become an ex-muslim after reading about it and I was questioning my faith for two years at that time.
You accused me of supporting genocide which is..... wow there is a lot to say about that, but I won't get into it now, you said this isn't in character for me as an "empathetic and intelligent woman" you're right, maybe the genocide accusation against Israel is blood libel and unfounded, because why would I support genocide? have you tried to read anything besides Qatar and Hamas approved propaganda? have you listened to other opinions in good faith without plugging your ears calling them Zionists (as if it's a bad thing to want self-determination and not be a dhimmi anymore) and blocking them?
I don't know where you get the audacity to say that I am ignorant and should do the "decent thing" and shut up, do you have any Jewish loved ones? do you worry about them on a daily basis because of antisemitism and how antisemitic hate crimes have increased to an insane level? I can't go a day without seeing new incidents reported, which you have ignored of course, because the only good Jew to you is a Jewish person who just affirms your beliefs so you can delude yourself into thinking you're a good person, but after that you don't really care, do you think antisemites ask Jewish people if they're Zionists before they harass and assault them? get off your fucking high horse, I don't owe you shit and you have no right to judge me, if anyone should shut up it's you, the rhetoric and the blood libels you share is the same fucking rhetoric inciting the increase in hate crimes, sincerely fuck off :)

what makes me saddest is that almost everyone speaking up and condemning the global pogrom is jewish or has jewish or israeli heritage. jews in far away countries who have never even set foot in israel are being othered and attacked simply for being jewish. and their countrymen are mostly silent or worse - actively cheering it. (there are exceptions of course for which im grateful. but yeah.)
especially upsetting is that of the non jews who are condemning this it's mostly middle age to older adults. the younger generation is overhwhelmingly silent or actively supportive of the hate. that's my generation and those younger than me. and it scares me about what happens as that generation becomes the majority.
Hi Nonnie! I feel you and am sending lotsa hugs! I do wanna acknowledge the exceptions, the non-Jews who ARE speaking up for Jews and for Israelis. They're so important. There's some here, online! And there have been some non-Jewish celebs who have done the same, stood up with the Jewish people. Take this American actress, for example, who posted this incredibly succinct message:
Tumblr media
But you are right that it's a minority in comparison to the majority of those who have spoken up for Israel and the Jewish people. To a degree, I can understand it. Even as a Jew, feeling compelled to speak up for my people, this has felt scary, and I have been repeatedly attacked and sent the vilest of messages, even when all I did was just post the daily updates with info. Just... informative posts and that's it, no commentary, and my humanity was immediately denied. And that was one of the kinder messages I had gotten. If Jews are scared to fight this fight, why wouldn't non-Jews be scared to do it?
I thought in 2023, it wouldn't be this hard to be the non-Jewish person doing the right thing, standing by Jews, as the Righteous Among the Nations did during the Holocaust. They risked their lives to save Jews by hiding and saving them. Surely it would be easier in 2023 to just speak up for the Jewish community, right? But it seems like it isn't. In a sense, it makes me appreciate those who stand with us even more. So I guess I just wanna take a second to applaud the people who do this. You're amazing. And you matter so much!
As for the generational gap you've noticed... I hope someone does a poll on this at some point. And if it turns out to be true, then I hope someone also tries to figure out how the generation that's supposedly the most in tune with human rights, turned out to be the same one that fails to see that ANY massacre is a gross violation of that. That there is NO justification for the beheading of babies, or for raping people so brutally, that their bones break.
If I try to hypothesize why that might be, all I can come up with is that there is some severe failure of empathy at work here, where empathy has been abandoned in favor of righteous rage, and the sense of moral superiority it brings with it. Really, if in the past people used to tap into a sense of superiority by being of the right race, religion, nationality sexual orientation or such, now they're tapping into a sense of superiority by holding the right (meaning socially sanctioned on Tumblr and Tiktok) political opinions. They won't let facts get in the way of that. If the conflict is more complicated than what Tiktok and Twitter have told them, they're not interested in learning about it.

Anon because I don't wanna get involved with all this shit flinging.
Regarding all of the Isreal Nazi comparsions going around. Nakam was a group of holocaust survivors who wanted to "take revenge" by killing six million germans via poisoning the water supply in Nuremberg. This was foiled. Then there's the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
These were would be attacks by, again, HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS against a German city shortly after the war and the carried out attacks agaisnt a country siding with the Nazis DURING the war.
I have never seen tumblr celebrate either of these things (though granted most of tumblr probably has never heard of Nakam).
But Hamas killing civilians? Nah Isreal did bad things so those people deserved to die. The amount of people is smaller but the same logic applies.
By the way, the idea that october 7 sexual assaults were a myth likely stems from an incident where the body of a teenage girl was found with her pants pulled down, a person at the scene reported he THOUGHT she had been raped and then it turned out she had "just" been killed and her pants had fallen down while her body was being dragged. The UN has later said they think Hamas commited sexual assault. So I'm guessing some people beliving it was a myth are technically not rape apoligists, just killing civialian apologists. Lovely.
I'm never judgemental of anons, thank you for sending.
I've never heard of Nakam. I'm glad it was foiled. I've never believed the correct response to violence is more violence.
Many nova survivors and freed hostages have reported witnessing and/or experiencing rape, both female and male victims. Anyone who denies the Hamas rapes are simply antisemitic terrorist apologizers. There's no other explanation for why the "believe women" crowd would suddenly stop believing women (and any gender of victim). War is hell and rape increases in war zones - on both sides - and it's a tragedy.
And you can spell it like Israel. Spelling it any other way is just super ignorant.
