GASTER'S RETURN - FAQ
What is the plot ?
Everything is in the title, it's a story about Gaster returning from wherever he was after his accident that broke him between time and space. This story is set after the Pacifist ending, months after monsters have been freed from the Underground
What are the main themes of this story ?
The story will focus on the difficulties he will encounter about this return in a brand new world, about searching for his place in this new setting, and letting go of the old one, while also putting some light on the impact it all had on his family and friends.
Is it an AU (Alternative Universe ?) ? And how close it is from Undertale ?
Yep, it is an AU. But I want to keep it as close of the canon as possible, in order to really tell a story based on the game. But it won't be exactly the same of course, my own headcanons, and other interpretations for narrative purpose, will be in there.
How did you get the idea of making this AU ?
At the very beginning, in April 2024 kinda, I started to make some random drawings of Gaster, and some KingDings (AsgorexGaster) sketches. It was some really light stuffs, Gaster doing random casual things on the surface, but then slowly a story began to form into my mind as I started to ask myself questions about the why and how. I decided that I wanted to make something out of it for once, so I began to study writing and comic making for a few months in order to start an AU for this idea, and here it is!
Wait wait wait, does that mean there will be KingDings in this AU ? :0
Well, no not really. The main focus of this story won't be romance at all. At this point of their lives, I don't think neither of them are ready for a relationship (if I want it to be healthy). So no romance, but if you want to see romance, between them or any other characters, I can't stop you x) (As long as it's legal of course...)
Why is the comic separated into scenes?
The comic is organized like this, every new setting is a new scene. It's how I organize my writing and I wanted to make it explicit
(Also, makes it easier for researching)
When will the next pages come out ?
I try to make approximatively 5 pages every two weeks
How long is this going to take to complete the story ?
Long as hell, I have written a prologue and 3 chapters to finish the story, wish me luck
Am I allowed to make a dub of the comic ?
I honestly don't know if anyone would ever want to make one, but if you do, sure you can ! (as long that you credit me of course)
You are also allowed to make fanarts, or any fanwork based on this AU, again I'm not sure if anyone would, but just in case x)
Am I allowed to repost this AU somewhere else ? Or to make a translation ?
Mmmh….I would allow it, but I want to be informed of it before you do. DM me to ask me, and if you see someone else than me reposting it somewhere, please tell me ^^
The only places I post this AU in here, on DeviantArt and on ComicFury, anywhere else isn't me
Russian translation of the Prologue just here !!
I have other questions !!!
Then you can ask them ! I will answer the ones who are interesting/doesn't require me to spoil my own story

a special gift for you guys, for this very important Fake Peppino Friday.... after a week of near-continuous work, i present to you the biggest mess i've posted so far to tumblr:
The Fake Peppino Headcanon/Biology/Anatomy/Whatever the heck this is Post
really just a bunch of headcanons, ideas, and other stuff i've complied together for Fake Peppino, illustrated to the best of my ability. i hope you enjoy! ✨✨✨
(caution: lots of text and assorted Frogs up ahead)
now.... who's ready for walls of text and drawings?
Fake Peppino is a homunculus, made in the shape of Peppino by Pizzahead. He's much taller than the real Peppino, 8 feet tall compared to Peppino's 5 1/2 feet. He was created using the DNA from Peppino (either skin or hair cells), old pizza, and frogs (think Jurassic Park). His entire body, including the hat and "clothes", is comprised of a strange goop, with no flesh organs or bones, though certain areas are made out of specialized goo, meant for an intended purpose.
He can stretch his body to inhuman lengths, though he usually only does this with his legs, mouth, tongue, and arms. His goopy body is extremely strong, able to withstand tearing and most puncture wounds. Attacks from knives or similar weapons are pointless, as it doesn't really harm him, and will likely just lead to him absorbing the knife into himself and retaliating. However, repeated attacks, especially physical blows, can tire him out, and explosives can harm him, splitting his body into pieces if particularly strong. This doesn't kill him, though, since he can reform his body.
If threatened, or trying to get into a tight spot, Fake Peppino can deform his body into a blob-like mass, allowing him to flee, squeeze into small areas, or melt into the floors/walls. He usually keeps his eyes and brain intact, to see his surroundings and act accordingly. The rest of his body, despite deforming and becoming mushy, can still function, meaning he could still eat in this form if he wanted to. He finds tights spaces comfortable, and can often be found squeezed into unlikely places, such as small containers, trash cans, and cabinets.
If greatly threatened, though, or sufficiently angered, Fake Peppino can pool all of the energy into his body into growing larger, by rapidly burning energy into making more goop/cells. This is very tiring, generally only used as a last resort. The process generally makes his head and body much larger, with his limbs, as well as eyes/brain, staying mostly the same size. He is dumber in this state, with all energy and thought going into eliminating the target, something that Fake Peppino doesn't like. He avoids lashing out like this unless he absolutely needs to.
Despite his frog DNA, Fake Peppino doesn't do well with water or other similar liquids. Thanks to his sturdy stomach walls, he can drink most liquids just fine, even fluids that would be dangerous to humans. It's his outside "skin" that's the problem, since it can't absorb liquid properly. Prolonged contact with water or other liquid will quickly cause him to deform, unable to keep his humanoid form, until he's sufficiently dried off/absorbed the liquid properly. He greatly dislikes being wet because of this, and will go to great lengths to avoid it. Warmer liquids are slightly more tolerable, being much more comfortable, so warm, bubbly baths are welcome.
The brain and eyes are connected directly, with the brain protected by Fake's squishy head, and the eyes popping out the widened eye sockets. The brain is made of very specialized goop, and works very similarly to a human brain, sending signals to all parts of Fake Peppino's body.
However, despite it being the central control center of his body, smaller bits of brain cell goop are distributed through the rest of his body, allowing him to control other parts separately. So, even if parts of him are detached or otherwise removed, he can still control them, for a time. After some time, these parts die off though, losing control and deforming into inert goop. He mainly uses this ability to split "clones" off of himself, controlling them to attack perceived threats.
Being made of goop, Fake's brain can withstand damage a normal brain can't, but he still prefers to keep it protected underneath his head. It dries out a bit in the open, too, which he finds uncomfortable.
Fake Peppino's eyes are very strong. Though he's often seen with a cross-eyed look to him, he's constantly watching his surroundings, even if it doesn't seem it. He has excellent night vision, often using this ability to easily stalk and sneak up on prey in the dark without being spotted.
He doesn't need to blink, but he still closes his eyes to sleep, when he's very happy, or during certain actions, such as swallowing. His eyes are one of the most vulnerable parts of his body, though, and attacking them would be a way to easily disorient him.
Fake Peppino's sense of smell is also impressive, being able to smell things long before he sees them. He uses this ability to easily find food, prey, or simply something he wants. The mustache under his nose (which, same as his "hair", is also made of goop) is sensitive, and he doesn't like others touching it.
Fake Peppino often sniffs things he's interested in, including strangers, to try to get a sense for them. He never forgets a particular smell, which makes it easy to tell if a familiar person is nearby. He often sniffs others while holding them or being given attention, likely as a form of interaction. Plus, he just thinks most others smell nice.
Despite, like the rest of him, being made of goop, Fake Peppino's teeth can harden to be extremely tough. They soften if he needs them to, such as when he deforms. His bite force is very, very strong, comparable to a hippo's bite. He doesn't chew his food too often, though, and only really chews up food he finds particularly tasty, such as pizza. His frog-like instinct usually compels him to swallow most foods whole. His teeth are more often used to grip things, such as prey items, or to carry things around. He enjoys carrying things he likes around, and will carry smaller friends around gently with his mouth.
The stretchiest part of Fake Peppino's body is his tongue, which can stretch to several times his body length. It is very sticky, coated with a clear, saliva-like goop that fills the inside of his mouth as well. Like a frog, he uses it to grab onto and eat food from afar, or to grab items he doesn't feel like using his arms to. It's very strong, and can drag even very heavy objects. The tongue's extreme flexibility allows him to reach it nearly anywhere, even down his own throat if he really wanted.
Usually, Fake Peppino uses his tongue to snatch fleeing prey items, and he can wrap it around their body to make them easier to eat. He often leaves his tongue dangling slightly out of his mouth, due to its length, but also making it easy to strike with if needed.
Fake Peppino's "stomach" is a very special case. It functions like both an organic stomach, and similarly to a lung as well, constantly moving by pushing air in and out of himself. He can use this to inflate his body, making himself bigger for intimidation (like some frogs do), or to shrink himself down by releasing all air from himself; this is generally used if a prey item is being uncooperative, to cause them to suffocate. To help keep live prey in place as well, he's able to close off his throat with a mass of goop, preventing escape.
The constant movement of the stomach makes digesting meals easier, allowing them to be coated by a specialized goop that absorbs and dissolves what it covers, like stomach acids. Fake Peppino's stomach can digest almost everything, aside from very tough materials, such as most metals, very solid plastics, tough minerals (like rocks), and bones. Anything he can't digest, he simply spits up eventually, generally in a place it can be disposed of, such as the trash.
His stomach is very sturdy and stretchy, able to withstand almost anything, and can stretch as much as needed to fit what's inside. As such, there's not much of a limit to how much Fake Peppino can eat. Eating too much makes him sluggish, though, as his body tries to process it all. Fake Peppino is most content with a reasonably-full stomach, and is generally quite calm and relaxed after a large meal. Belly rubs at this point are greatly appreciated.
If needed to, he can reach his arms back into his own throat, to grab something from inside of his stomach. He doesn't do it often, due to most things he eats being digestible, making carrying stuff around in there fairly pointless. This is only ever really the case if it's something too difficult to spit up, or something that wasn't supposed to be eaten in the first place.
There is no further digestive system, however; all food eaten is 100% absorbed in the stomach. Everything he eats is converted into more goop like him, leaving no trace behind, unless it is undigestible. Bones from eaten prey such as rats get thrown out, or disposed of in an appropriate spot.
and... though I didn't get to drawing them, here's a couple extra unsorted headcanons/dumb little tidbits I just felt like sharing!
He makes lots of strange sounds, communicating more through groans and frog-like croaks than trying to speak. He CAN talk, but not well, mostly in broken, short sentences, and usually speaks "backwards". He can understand others just fine, though he struggles with especially long and complicated words. The sounds he makes when not talking are generally unintelligable, but his mood and tone can indicate how he feels. He uses the ability to inflate his body to produce very loud, aggressive sounds when trying to ward off threats.
His gooey body is what allows him to cling to walls and ceilings with ease. He sticks to walls while trying to stalk prey, or just to play around with friends. Though, in some cases, he'll cling against the walls or ceiling if frightened, finding them a safe vantage point. If you're in the dark and feel something creeping its way towards you, it's likely Fake Peppino, silently stalking you from the walls.
Despite his inhuman traits, Fake Peppino generally doesn't like the idea of eating humans. He still sees himself as somewhat human from his time spent believing he was the real Peppino. Attacking or eating things he doesn't see as prey is kept as a last resort, or if he's extremely angered. As of now in my canon/AU, there is only one person Fake Peppino has killed in this way. He didn't like the taste.
#oh god. oh lord. Color Of The Sky: Frog Edition has been released into the world.#i uhh. hope you like it though!! i've spent literally an entire week working on it and i'd like to think it turned out good!!#oh and also. if anyone has any questions or thoughts about this stuff feel free to ask! i might take a while to get to ask stuff but-#i promise i'll try! anyways. enjoy the frogs. a lotta good boys here.#my art#pizza tower#pizza tower fake peppino#pizza tower noise#pizza tower peppino#i'm uh. gonna take a nice break from drawing for a day now.

so I do flow art things & obviously this has a lot of woo & astrology folks. & I have figured out a BANGER script for handling these. it works so so well
I really like the aesthetic of astrology & occult & especially how you can weave connections between numerology and tarot and astrology (get em on side)
Buuuuut... idk... astrology seems fun until people start making decisions about/for you based on it & then it's so obvious how terrible it is. (the hesitance is important u don't wanna be lecturing u wanna be sharing ur honest thoughts)
I once talked to this guy who said that because his girlfriend was a water sun fire moon, she was just always mad for no reason & that he didn't need to listen to why she was mad bc he understood that it was just her nature. what the fuck man!! (get people on side by conjuring a Shitty Dude. the guy is 100% real though.)
Buuuuut that I think they can be neat as a social technology to have deeper conversations without it being awkward! Ex: If somebody asks "what do you admire about yourself" I'd be super tempted to make some joke answer. but being able to talk genuinely about how u see urself is useful!
wait. okok I'm a cap sun virgo moon aries rising. stereotypically what does that tell you about me. (fun minigame!)
Rejected: "other than what time my mom gave birth" (u can throw this in with the right crowd for a laugh but 3/4 times I had to like explain. unfun)
(looking for stuff like hard worker, organized, leader, routines, jobs & material success) ok god I wish I'm sooo lazy and disorganized there's like 4 pans in my sink right now probably.
so like idk inferring from the signs to the personality is I think totally wrong like. [draw an incorrect & possibly insulting conclusion from their signs]. which is like so rude. but like when you explain it [repeat something they've attributed to their signs] it's like a good way to talk about yourself on a deeper level. (show u are listening. also demonstrate zodiacal knowledge by pulling out insulting stereotype for their moon/sun combo.)
the thing I do relate to with "earth sign" is that. when I want to comfort somebody the most natural way is by doing something physical. yknow--let me get you some water. I'm sorry your head hurts, here's some ibuprofen. let me cook you soup. let me bike to chipotle and buy you a burrito. like I know some people who... you just talk to them and you remember everything you love about the world. and I have to practice & work really hard to get close to that. but I *can* insist you stay hydrated & I think that counts for something. (playing, in good faith, the astrology psychoanalysis game. By playing the game well, it demonstrates my thesis about how it's a useful game but a terrible belief.)
but even then there's still... something about it that weirds me out like.. I feel like once I tell somebody my chart, it's easy to unconsciously remember the things that fit the stereotype and not the bits that don't fit, flattening people. idk it's kinda unavoidable, I feel the same with like "nerd" or "raver". or gender stereotypes too. Like it's unavoidable but I wish I could know people as just themselves without that baggage, right. (THAT'S RIGHT FUCKERS WE'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT GENDER ROLES. but also like. i think this plays well in the flow community where people do value being individuals & the idea that someone should try to know *you* at a deep and honest level. it's tailored to the crowd.)
(here is where I play my private little prank) i guess the other way I relate to earth sign stereotypes is like. ok when I was explaining how I feel about astrology it's all about the effects, right. Like it's not "I don't like it bc it's factually wrong" or "I like it because it connects me to spirituality". I don't like it because it's prejudiced and unfair. but I'm sometimes cautiously fond of it bc it's a conversational tool to have deep talks about personal subjects. For me it's all about what it does and how it leads people to treat others. (that's right fuckers. I don't believe in astrology Because I'm An Earth Sign. it was all leading up to this.)
generally at this point it's time to let other people talk so I don't sound lecture-y
idk like. idt I'm gonna make people stop using astrology but I do feel like it maybe gives people a perspective of like.. "oh yeah it does seem pretty fucked to use this predictively, I do rly wish people would see the real me". at the very least I hope I give them something to think abt next time they trip lmao

Okay, I’ve been considering it for quite a bit and I think that if Tumblr existed in Japanifornia… most of us would probably not be aware of the series’ main characters.
Like, lawyers just don’t tend to be high-profile publicly-known figures. Even within True Crime communities or the coverage of high-public-interest cases, people don’t tend to focus on the lawyers as much more than a representative of the defendant and the legal system as a whole. And yeah, you can say this is just because real-life lawyers are Boring and if they did the kind of Bonkers Shit AA Lawyers do we would pay attention to them… but we do actually have textual evidence that Japanifornia treats lawyers not-too-differently than real life.
Mia’s murder, and probably the uncovering of all of Bluecorp’s dirty dealing, was highly talked about, but Phoenix’s actions in court went kinda ignored. And note that this is the case where Phoenix literally defended himself and broke the Demon Prosecutor’s five years winning streak, and that wasn’t enough to draw eyes to his part in this whole case.
And that’s also generally consistent with how characters treat Phoenix throughout the rest of the games. By the AJ Trilogy era, it’s clear that Phoenix has made quite a name for himself… in the legal world. If you are yourself a lawyer or another sort of legal professional or just unusually interested in court proceeding, you know the name ‘Phoenix Wright’
But if you’re just a regular person who cares about the law the Regular Amount, you probably have no idea who this is.
So I’d guess most of Japanifornian Tumblr would probably be aware of a lot of the cases in the games, especially considering how many of them concern, like, corporate corruption and organized crime and legal corruption and international politics and the entertainment industry and other such stuff that makes it likely to get national/international news coverage. And also so many of them are so bizarre and wacky and are thus prime meme fodder…
But most people wouldn’t necessarily know the name of the lawyer the Nickel Samurai blackmailed to defend him after he ordered an assassin to kill the Jammin’ Ninja, or even how involved that lawyer actually was in Matt Engarde’s downfall.
But there would probably be a small mini-fandom of Tumblrina Lawyers and other legal nerds who are ABSOLUTELY obsessed with the WAA, and trying to collect any piece of info they can find about their adventures.
(That’s also another aspect to consider, the general public in Japanifornia does not have full knowledge of everything we get to see in the game. News coverage of the smaller cases would be extremely minimal and very regional - and even the bigger cases probably won’t give you a full line-by-line record of everything that happened in Court. Apollo Justice was, like, the Biggest Phoenix Wright Stan in the Universe and he had very choppy and partial knowledge of the Gramarye Trial. We have to consider that even folks who are trying to keep track of the AA Lawyers in-universe would not get the full picture from the media. And that’s before we get into fake news and rumors.)
And meanwhile, the rest of Tumblr would probably treat that Fandom the same sort of bemused delight we give to, like, the extremely dedicated gimmick blogs. Like, you’d probably see less posts about Phoenix and Co. as you’d see posts memeing about the fact there’s a Tumblr Fandom for ‘some random law agency in Japanifornia’, they’d be like five thousands people in the notes going “There’s a Tumblr Fandom for WHAT? WHY IS THIS THE FIRST TIME I’M HEARING ABOUT THIS??” and then one person from the WAA fandom going “NO YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS IS THE GUY WHO UNCOVERED THE PHANTOM HE’S JUMPED OFF A BURNING BRIDGE ONCE YOU LITERALLY TALKED ABOUT A TRIAL HE DID YESTERDAY YOU JUST DON’T KNOW HE WAS INVOLVED”.
Now, that’s all for the Defense Attorneys. The Prosecutors have a bit more publicity. I mean, Phoenix literally heard about Prosecutor Edgeworth on the news.
But also… I do think this publicity is highly regional. Like, Phoenix ended up stumbling on newspaper coverage of Miles because he lives in the same city as him. I’m guessing that most of the series’ Prosecutors are at least casually known not just to Legal Folks, but also generally to people within Los Angetokyo and people involved in Japanifornian Politics… but also not much outside of that sphere either. Again, the series does establish that they are not that well-known amongst laypeople even when they are famous amongst other lawyers
And are generally recognized by fellow legal professionals and journalists and people involved in criminal activity. So the situation with them won’t be that different than with the WAA, they might be a tad more high-profile, depending on how many Tumblr users are specifically from Japaniforina and wanna make memes about the local politics… but those who will get really invested in their misadventures won’t be that different from the kind of people who’d get really into Phoenix Wright.
Klavier is the obvious exception. Like most Famous Lawyers, he’s actually primarily famous for something other than law. It’s just that in his case, instead of politics, it’s being a world-famous rock star. There’s plenty of textual evidence that the Gavinners are an actual household name and they’d probably have a pretty sizable Tumblr Fandom, but… well… while I assume any casual Gavinner fan knows that Klavier is also a Prosecutor, I’d guess only the insanely dedicated fans and the Haters looking for something problematic would actually start digging into the records of the cases he worked on. But then again, Tumblr does have a lot of insanely dedicated fans and Haters, so maybe Legal Misadventures Involving Klavier would be kinda mainstream on Japanifornia Tumblr.

Hey all, know I've been quiet but I'm in the home stretch!! Just gotta survive three more days and then exams are over, pray for me 🙏
Anyway in honor of me spending my weekend fighting for my life trying to memorize formulas that look like alphabet soup:
Heartsteel helping you study headcanons
Kayn
- Let's be real he ain't helping. Like he understands this is important and you need to focus but he also really, really wants your attention, are you sure it's not time for you to take a break? No? :(
- Like you'll be taking notes and you'll just see him in the background slowly vibrating out of his skin restraining himself from bothering you. But also, he ain't gonna leave unless you ask him to, he'd still rather hang out with you ignoring him than not spend time with you.
- Let him quiz you or something, please he'll do such a good job just pleeeease pay attention to him. Or just talk him about whatever it is you're working on, he'll do his best to follow along but really it doesn't matter if he doesn't understand, if having someone to bounce ideas off of helps you then he's absolutely there for that.
- Largely mollified if you work while sitting on his lap. He'll do his best not to be distracting, he promises. That being said, if you try to work one minute past when you said you were gonna stop your laptop is getting ejected and he will be pouncing on you, he's been so patient goddamnit.
Aphelios
- Will actually help you study. He's pretty well read so there's a few subjects he can help you with, otherwise he just sits next to you and keeps you on track. There will be no getting distracted by your phone on his watch, and you will be taking regular breaks. Mostly he's doing his own thing so he doesn't bother you, like mixing tracks with his headphones on, but trust me he Will notice if you start slacking off.
- Honestly he's the kind of guy who appreciates just spending time in the same space as you
- Recruits Alune to retrieve snacks. She's also very willing to help if it's a subject she's familiar with, but she's also very talkative with people she likes so Phel will shoo her away if she's distracting you.
- If he can, will help organize your notes or put together flash cards. Great at quizzing you, though he also tends to ask insane niche question that really tests your understanding.
Sett
- The only reason he had decent grades in high school was because he didn't want to upset his mom, so he knuckled down and worked his ass off. He sucks at studying otherwise, he never had the patience for it, so he really respects your determination
- If you tell him you're gonna work and then end up on your phone he Will notice. He knows all the tricks in the book, he used them himself, you are not gonna start after just one more video, you're gonna start now. He's pretty hard to argue with when he's got his Boss voice on.
- That being said, he ain't gonna be much help with academics–even the stuff he's great at, like songwriting, he doesn't really consciously think about; he just has an intuitive sense of what does and doesn't work, and goes purely off of what feels right.
- Any other support he can offer though, he's There. You want snacks? A quiet spot to study? Coffee on the hour every hour? He's got you, ask and you shall receive.
- He's drawing the line if you start going overboard though, working tired is worse than not working at all so you're gonna call it for the night and come back when you're back on your game.
Yone
- Another man who's likely to actually know the subject you're studying. He'll sit down with you and help you make a study plan, and then he'll make sure you actually stick to it. A firm yet gentle hand–he’s used to dealing with that lot, keeping you on track is easy mode comparatively. Also, he'll find a way to minimize potential distractions so sneakily you won't even notice, like you get the urge to go on your socials but your phone's somehow all the way over on the couch so it's too much effort.
- Offers to let you study at his place. It's a very quiet and relaxing space, and also he point blank bans any of the other band members from bothering either of you while you're working.
- You thought that thing about herbal tea helping with concentration was an old wives tale but whatever is in this little clay cup is legitimately a god send. He also makes his own wagashi, and it's so pretty you'd almost feel bad about eating it if it didn't taste so good.
- Helps you with flashcards and quizzes and anything else that will help you feel prepared. Will go out of his way to read up on the subject so he can help you better.
Ezreal
- This guy 100% has undiagnosed ADHD, I don't make the rules. Unlike Kayn who has some pretty obvious hyperactivity symptoms, Ez is one of those people whose like ‘nahhh I can't have that, I get on just fine when it's something I'm interested in :)) in fact I'm so good at studying things I'm interested in that I'll do it for hours at a time without taking breaks! :)) that's normal!’. So while he really wants to be helpful, he has horrible studying habits and honestly he's impressed you're starting before midnight the night before your test. If you need someone to keep an eye on your bad study habits, he is not the guy. If you need a quick confidence boost or moral support though, he's absolutely there for you.
- Extremely knowledgeable on a very specific and eclectic range of subjects. If you happen to by studying ancient history he will explode with excitement, babygirl he knows facts you couldn't even begin to be assessed on.
- He'll bring you your favorite snacks and drinks! Occasionally he'll start talking to you only to remember you're busy and cut himself off mid word–he doesn't mean to, it's just whenever he finds something interesting he immediately wants to share it with you.
- Second you say you're done he'll insist on doing something to celebrate, whatever gets your batteries recharged, whether that's going out and doing something fun or snuggling down and watching a movie, he thinks you deserve a reward.
K’Sante
- Actually very studious, he knows how to knuckle down and get something done. If you have trouble keeping on track he can help with that. Like he gets this gaggle of dumbasses to meet deadlines, he's pretty good at figuring out what motivates people
- His knowledge base is mostly music theory and visual design, but he'll help out if he can.
- He'll invite you to his place and make you lunch as a treat, which is very motivating because he is a fantastic cook. Plying you with food is also his way of maneuvering you into taking breaks when you need them.
- He can tell when you start slowing down and need to call it for the day, and gently extracts you from your work by suggesting you take a walk and stretch your legs or something.
Bonus
- Whole band is throwing you a party as soon as your exams are over, whether it's a celebration of your hard work or a ‘thank fuck it's over’ bash. There will be another party when you get your results back, they'll take any excuse for a party if it means you'll be there.

I've been saving this but I can't take it anymore... your art is super cool!! I love the drawing style you have, especially the lines and expressions. Also the dynamic poses and interactions between characters, everything looks so cute but at the same time exciting to keep watching!! I would read a whole manga with your art in it :3
Curious question: what size are your drawings normally? I see that you draw in pencil and many times there is more than one drawing on a single canvas/sheet so I am curious to know approximately the size of your drawings
I hope you don’t mind me using your ask to say this, but…you guys have no idea how much your kindness and positivity has affected me since I started posting my CotL stuff.
I’ve had anxiety since I was a kid, and depression for almost a decade now, and most recently been diagnosed with ADHD and OCD. I’ve had the most lows in my life over the past few years, and my consistency and drive to draw has suffered for it; at most, I’ve posted every other week, but mostly once every couple of months, and even longer than that until now. Being on medication has affected my motivation to draw, and I’ve been on short-term disability for over a month now, trying out new medications and feeling mostly miserable from the side effects.
Despite all that, I’ve wanted truly to finally be consistent with art, interact with people, try new things, and it’s helped so much to have so many people loving the things I’ve come up with. I haven’t been as consistent this last week, and spotty some weeks before that, but you’ve all been so patient despite that, which is part of the reason I want to give you some transparency and vulnerability on my part.
So I apologize if things continue to be a little less than organized or consistent, but I’m going to keep trying my best everyday, because I want to keep bringing you things you enjoy and want to interact with, so…thank you. 🥹
But getting to your question before I really start to tear up…this 9x12 sketchbook by Strathmore (specifically the recycled paper) is what I’ve been using for my sketches for a long while:

And it typically depends on how big or small I think each of the drawings should be, but I do try to keep them on one page if I can just for organizations’s sake.

Also if I know I need to post it from my phone, I try to make things easier for myself by putting things within proximity of each other with my phone’s camera in mind (not the whole page because it’ll be blurry, up and down since that’s easier for me to take a shot with, and so on).
If I’m gonna scan it, that makes things a bit easier, but I do try to condense them enough so I can try and avoid doing two scans of the same page and having to stitch them together (this one below just ended up taking the whole page, and since most scanners - my roommate’s included - usually only scan Letter or A4 size areas, those I end up having to scan on multiple parts and edit them together in Clip Studio Paint).

But of course, it all comes down to what feels right or works with your own method the best (as long as you achieve the outcome you wanted, the tools and method to get there don’t necessarily have to be the “best” or “right” way to do it).
I hope this helps, though, and that you have a brilliant day~✨

*tap tap*
is this thing on?
It's been a while, huh?
(Chit chat under the cut)
How have you all been?
Are any of you still here?
Still interested in the story I want to share?
I've been pushing it off for so long
But I do want to continue this.
Sorry it's been so long.
Life has really been hectic. That's all I can say, really. (Along with. I've just had other interests I wanted to explore)
I got compelled to draw this au again, because I've been showing my friend Deltarune for the first time.
Really unlocked some memories and hidden motivation.
So, lemme explain the thought behind some of this miscellaneous doodles.
1: Banner. Our favorite snow hoe.
2 & 3: redesigning Vey's outfit. The outfit themes for this au are wintery, so every unique au outfit has fur in it. Couldn't think of a way to incorporate this with Vey while speaking to their laziness AND their job as a fashion designer, so at first I gave them a hoodie and called it a day. BUT while brainstorming, I realized bathrobes can be fluffy, AND elegant, while at the same time signalling that Vey hasn't gotten out of bed/put much effort into their appearance.
Sorry for the long ramble on these two, I'm really into design and stuff, and their design was bugging me for a LONG time and I FINALLY figured out how to tackle it in a way I like.
In future drawings I'm probably gonna have the robe drape a bit more though. Like a semi-train of that makes sense
4-6: Vi ice-skating. I've become really attached to the idea of Snow au Vi doing this. It fits her. Elegant, cold.
7&8: So. This is gonna seem random (cause it is) but Vi x Tasque Manager has been a ship in my mind for almost as long as Vi has been introduced to the blog? I never could figure out a way to incorporate it organically though, so it never happened. Dunno if it will ever happen. But they mean a lot to me so I decided to share the them. Ig it's up to you guys if you wanna see them get together sometime. So lmk your thoughts on that.
9. Tasque Manager and Swatch friendship. She is so concerned. She thought that little man was dead. And she does not like the fact that Swatch is sacrificing so much of their mental health to care for him. Potential boss battle.
10. Ice Jevil. This has been his design concept for quite some time but I think I can do better. I've been trying not to show this au's Jevil, I've been wanting to keep him a super secret... But I think everyone knows he's here already lol.
As long as I don't spill anything story wise, I figured there's no harm in showing him y'know.
So behold.
The boy!!!
Uh yeah
That's it I think.
I might get to doodling more story stuff.
After years of struggling mentally, I think I'm ready.
See ya when I see ya
Love you guys fr fr

Gala of the Gods (Part 3)
Alright, Part 3 is here!
You get art this time around as well, as I couldn't resist drawing their fancy outfits! Hmm, nothing like attempting to draw these characters for the first time in fancy clothing with patterns and shit, I'm a smart one.
Hope y'all enjoyed this little 3-parter. If anyone have more ideas, I'd love to hear it, because I like writing these two.
Also, before you read, just as a heads up, it gets a little suggestive at the very end. It's a firm fade to black, but it is a thing that exists. Look for a line of dashes if you'd rather not read it.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 -You Are Here-
Word Count: 2,300
The Organizer was not a god of... standard form. She wasn't a god of standard anything, to be fair. Scarab couldn't recall many run-ins with her, as their work very rarely overlapped, but that did not make sitting in her office with her staring down at him any more comforting or less nerve racking.
There was a constant noise, as her many, many arms carried on with her daily tasks. Some were writing, others were stamping, some were shredding, it was all happening at once. Her many eyes free roamed around the office as she worked, but she had decided to keep maybe half a dozen glued to the two gods sitting across from her desk.
Lucky them.
No one spoke for a long time. Scarab just nervously fiddled with his can, while Prismo seemed to be doing his best to will the floor to swallow him, shoulders coming up to his ears.
"I thought I had made the policy of fighting at my Gala very clear." Her voice echoed all over the room, rather than coming from some visible mouth. The both of them flinched at the sudden break of silence. "Scarab, while I might be less surprised due to past behavior, I must say I'm still disappointed with your recent track record. Prismo, I can't say I expected to see you in my office of all gods."
"But-"
"I-"
They both started at the same time, but were silenced by a single raised hand.
"However. I am not all-knowing. That is the Observer's job. Prismo, you are not one to cause problems often. And Scarab, despite your difficulties with others, you always filed your paperwork on time. So, I am giving each of you a chance to explain yourselves."
Scarab waited for some signal from her that he was permitted to speak.
"...Prismo, it was you who started it, so you will be first to explain yourself."
Prismo audibly gulped.
"O-Okay... I'd just like to clarify, Scarab and I were not fighting, not in the way you might be expecting. It was my fault..."
Scarab's eyes widened, about to jump in, but was silenced by a hard glare from the Organizer. She gestured for Prismo to continue.
"I lost control over an aspect of myself, and started lashing out. Scarab was just trying to neutralize the threat and calm me down. He wasn't trying to hurt me. Just stop me from hurting others."
There was more silence as the Organizer mulled this information over. Her gaze shifted to Scarab.
"Scarab. Can you confirm this story?"
"Yes ma'am. I was not trying to do harm onto Prismo. I had never seen that aspect of him act out, and I was not sure if or when he could regain control. So I worked to put a stop to it. The only weapon I used was a glorified flashlight."
"I see." Scarab saw distantly a set of arms start sorting through a filing cabinet. "Can you tell me why this aspect of Prismo got so out of control? Last I understood, Prismo, you had achieved complete control and cohesion with all aspects of your dream form. Has this changed?"
"No, no! It's, uh, different..."
"How so?"
"Well... my nightmare aspect only flares up under extreme negative emotions... Stuff life fear or really bad sadness or... when I'm really, really angry. That's what happened tonight, ma'am. I hit a boiling point and it... blew up."
She gave a pointed gaze toward Scarab, causing the beetle to sink into his seat.
"No! It wasn't Scarab's fault!"
"It wasn't?"
"No! I mean, Scarab's related, but it wasn't his fault!"
"How is he related, but not his fault, Prismo?"
Prismo ran a hand through his curls, trying to collect himself.
"So, Scarab's been under my management after the whole Fionna and Cake fiasco, right?"
"Yes, I remember signing that change of management form. I must say, I was a bit confused when I heard you had volunteered. My understanding was the entire incident was caused by a conflict between the two of you."
"It was but... well, the whole thing was my fault to begin with. I did make a rogue universe, and Scarab was just doing his job. He went too far at the end, and it was definitely more personal than his other cases, but I still did what he said I did, and he was right to try and do his job."
The beetle sighed. This was a conversation they had had many times. A lot of confusing feelings had needed to get detangled if they were going to live together. They had forgiven each other for quite a while.
"So, what did Scarab's assignment to you have to do with what happened tonight?"
"Well, Scarab and I have been getting closer. Bonding. We're actually really close now." The Organizer have him a very knowing stare. "I consider him one of my best friends and... I've been learned a lot about him. A lot about how he's been treated by our coworkers and... it wasn't nice and it wasn't fair. I've been getting more and more angry at the others for how they've been treating someone they don't even know, particularly Orbo."
Prismo's hands clenched into fists as he took a deep breath. The Organizer hummed. "What happened between you and Orbo?"
"Orbo cornered me tonight and tried to convince me that Scarab was changing me for the worse because I've been less than nice to him and others who keep trying to act like Scarab's some sort of monster. I got sick and tired of people acting like I was stupid for helping him, that I'm being manipulated. I'm tired of hearing 'Poor Prismo, getting stuck with Scarab, it's so sad for him', like I didn't volunteer for it!"
Scarab felt his mandibles tense... that's what had happened...? Orbo said that...? Was it... true... was he changing Prismo for the worse?
"Orbo making these comments are... interesting."
Scarab raised a brow. "Interesting how?"
"Because he filed complaints and write ups for you every Glob Forsaken time he thought he could."
All color drained from Scarab's face. His heart raced, and he started shaking enough for his carapace to click together.
"He what?!"
"He's submitted thousands of these things over the years. Pretty much none of them went anywhere because the Observer never confirmed the infractions described in the write-ups. Of all your write ups, only three have ever been acted on."
"...Three...?"
"Yes. The first two had notes that Orbo had the authority to discipline as he saw fit within reasonable boundaries. The third lead to the decision to move you into Prismo's management."
Authority to discipline as Orbo saw fit...
He touched the cropped stumps of his former antenna... he felt the lingering burn in his shoulders from his ripped wings...
"Do you... know what those punishments were...?"
"I was not privy to details. Just that they were carried out, and you returned to your duties."
There was a heavy pause, as both Prismo and Scarab processed that news.
"Well, if what you say is true, and I will be calling in the Observer to confirm, then it seems a meeting between Orbo and I is in order. However."
Prismo took hold of Scarab's hand.
"You two did break one of my only rules of the Gala. While it might not have been a true fight, it did cause panic and damage in the Judgement Hall. While it was not either of you who instigated the conflict, it was you two who escalated it to physical violence. It needs to be addressed."
The Organizer pinned the both of them down with a withering stare. Scarab would never not feel like he was a child around her.
Especially now. He saw the way her hands moved, the relentless precision with which she worked. It would be... frighteningly easy for her to pull his arms or legs off... He cast a worried glance to Prismo. His mortal body was much... softer than Scarabs... it... wouldn't survive getting plucked apart...
"...As punishment, you two are going to be my assistants for the time being. Prismo, your job as Wishmaster is still in effect, and you both will be allowed to return to the Time Room. However, you should expect paperwork to periodically be teleported into the chamber. I expect you both to work to complete that paperwork in a timely manner, as accurately as possible. You will be granted limited access to the divine records room for reference. Failure to perform this new duty will have me dragging the both of you back in here. And I won't be as nice next time."
There was a decisive stamp suddenly in front of them, as the Organizer slid a piece of paper in front of them.
Scarab read it. He let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. He almost wept. Paperwork. He could handle that. He wasn't getting pulled part today. Prismo wasn't getting pulled apart today.
"Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes ma'am" they both said together.
"Good. Now, off you go, I have a Star Core I need to speak with."
Before either could say another word, they were warped away in a rainbow of light, and deposited quite ungracefully on the floor of the Time Room.
"Ugh, that sucks a lot when someone else is warping me... Paperwork's gonna suck though, right Scrabs?"
Prismo rubbed the back of his head as he sat up. He spotted Scarab in the corner, huddled down, making himself as small as possible. His heart squeezed as he crawled over to him.
"Hey Lovebug..." He tried to put his hand on his shoulder, but the beetle shied away from the touch. "...Are you okay...?"
Scarab sighed a tired chirp. "No Prismo... I'm... not okay. You were... so angry... you were angry because of me... You're... you're very frightening when you're angry..."
Prismo frowned, rubbing the back of his neck. "No, Lovebug. That wasn't your fault..."
"But it is... You've been so... so kind to me, Prismo... So accommodating and forgiving and sweet... You're making enemies out of friends over me... And... what have I done? What have I done to deserve any of that..."
"Scarab, no-"
"Look at me, Prismo" he snapped. "I'm... not worth this... I'm not good, not like you. I've just been... a problem. An obstacle. Something to work around..."
Scarab's voice sounded so small... Prismo wrapped an arm around his shoulders and squeezed.
"Scarab. You are not an obstacle. I do those things because I want you to feel safe and cared for. And... tonight, you've done more than anyone really has before."
"...How...?"
"Look... When Nightmo takes control, there's not much hope for me coming down on my own. He's a protective measure, but he works too well. He feeds off of negative feelings, the fear and anger around him. He just gets bigger and bigger and more hostile, until there's nothing left to feed on. He has to be subdued or he'll destroy everything around him. I've... I've never seen him back down willingly. Not until tonight."
Scarab looked into Prismo's eyes, wide and uncertain.
"But... but he didn't back down, I had to neutralize him..."
"Scarab, you talked Nightmo down. Yeah, you had to get him small enough to pay attention, but it was your words that got him to fall back. He... He knows you're safe. He'll retreat because he believes you'll protect me. And that's... never happened before. Ever."
Scarab saw the tears pooled in Prismo's eyes, a sad and tired smile spread across his face. He pulled the beetle closer to give sweet kisses to his cheek and neck.
"You've been opening my eyes, Scarab. I was only everybody's pal because they thought I was... in on the joke. I didn't even realize what complete and total wads they were, because they thought I was "cool" or whatever. I don't want to be friends with people who could do the things they've done to you, just because they think no one will care. I have standards. And now I know they don't meet them. I'm not losing friends over you, I'm just finding out who really is and isn't a friend."
Prismo placed a soothing hand at the base of one of Scarab's wings.
"So no, Lovebug. You're not making me worse. You make me, even the worst parts of me, feel safe. I love you. All of me loves you."
Scarab should've been a bit embarrassed by the noises he was making, but it didn't particularly matter now. Not when the two trapped each other in a tight embrace, and a loving kiss. Mandibles threaded through gray hair, talons touched the soft skin they found, and gentle hands soothed aching shoulders.
"I love you too, Prismo" Scarab whispered as they separated for air. He chirped softly as the Wishmaster continued kissing at his neck, his wings twitching and fluttering as best they could.
-----------------------
"...You're so beautiful. You look so beautiful like this..."
Prismo's hands held his waist firmly, thumb rubbing at a seam in his carapace.
"Hmmm... What are you planning, oh great Wishmaster?"
"Well... We do have these bodies. For a little bit longer. I've got no plans for right now. But I could. Or, we could cuddle. Up to you, Lovebug."
Prismo busied himself with Scarab's neck again as the beetle thought. Or, well, as he tried to, but his own shell was suddenly feeling a bit warm. One of his claws traced around the Wishmaster's neck and shoulder.
"I... I think you're quite beautiful as well, Prismo. I'd be... willing to explore whatever plans you might come up with."
Prismo gave him a peck on the cheek, a maybe slightly smug grin on his face.
"I think that can be arranged."
And he closed the door of the Time Room.

I CANNOT stop thinking about your chungmyung for LCB. His story would literally fit perfectly into limbus too.. have you thought about what his stuff would be like or was it just for drawing??
i don't have a suuper concrete idea on what his backstory equivalent would be in project moon world but here's some ideas i had while drawing! :3
- he smokes. drinks a bit less because he's on the job unfortunately. his liver is failing him
- same-ish backstory as canon. everyone he has ever loved is dead
- joins limbus on the wish that they can preserve the remaining of his sect/help him rebuild it
- (i guess the equivalent would be an orphanage that doubles as a fixer office...?)
- my idea is that rebuilding it would be way harder as they're from a fallen wing + he's the only one capable left of taking care of it. most of the ones left are teens and children
- IS a color fixer but has considerably weakened due to his injuries so he's thought of as a washed-up color. (think peak geomjon -> middle of geomhyeop on power scaling. then limbus weakened him even more) he's still super good at direct combat though!
- guess he'd be 2nd to don quixote!
- title is plum saint
- his age is around the early fifties
for his relationship with the other sinners, i had a bit trouble thinking about it but here's some I thought of:
outis: ohhhh my god they DESPISE each other. but they're also the most in sync when it comes to cracking these whippersnappers into shape. sometimes they'll nag at the others at the same time then look at each other and exchange barbed insults. unfortunately, they do understand each other's circumstances.
hong lu: he's constantly thinking of ways on how to extort this guy. sometimes, he can see chung mun's smile overlapping his. it freaks him out a bit both due to trauma + also hong lu is way younger than him.
sinclair: the one he likes to pick on the most. he nags alot at sinclair, but he is trying to get him up to his standards. sinclair is terrified of him. eventually, he does accept cheongmyeong's help on training. sinclair gets slapped on the back when sinclair finally managed to land a hit on him.
don quixote: don quixote was on the MOON when she found out her boss and a coworker were both color fixers. she idolizes cheongmyeong even after she watches him down 4 bottles of straight vodka without breaking a sweat. cheongmyeong likes her because he likes getting praised. post-canto 7, it was a strange adjustment getting called "young cheongmyeong" by someone you lowkey saw as a grandkid figure.
gregor: he finds some sort of kindred with him. they're both veterans, but gregor isn't the uptight militaristic type like outis is. they're also both the only prosthetic havers on the bus, though gregor's is organic. they exchange lights sometimes.
yi sang: another one of his victims. he pesters him into working out because he looks pale as death. yi sang is too polite to decline and usually the session ends 3 minutes in with yi sang unconscious on the ground. lately, they've celebrated yi sang reaching 6 minutes.
heathcliff: hmm.. i cant explain it but they'd get along, i feel
i cant think of anything else but basically tldr:
gets along well: gregor, sinclair, don quixote, yi sang, heathcliff
indifferent: hong lu, ishmael, rodya, meursault
annoyed by/hate: faust, ryoshu, outis

Jay Website Character Traits
Lucky
Jay possesses an incredible magic charm on them which grants them extreme luck powers. Their luck protects them from being physically harmed by the doctors– even if they were to try to harm Jay, things would go wrong (such as weapons flying out of the way from some invisible magic force) and they would be unable. Because of this luck, Jay has an ITP that makes it so they do not receive hospital “treatments” like the other patients. However, Jay didn’t always have these luck powers– after all, why would a lucky person end up trapped here in the first place? Not everyone knows… maybe you’ll find out?
Creative
Jay is very creative. They love to draw and come up with new ideas and stories! They spend a lot of time drawing things in their sketchbooks (they have more than one! Very many!) and love to share their art with their friends, especially Uni who’s also an artist. Drawing like this is comforting to them and gives them something else to think about instead of the hospital and the bad stuff that happens there. Their creativity manifests in many forms, even beyond just drawing.
Determined
When Jay sets their mind to something, they’ll always figure out a way to achieve it, trying different things and different methods to solve problems. They think outside the box and continue on when their friends are stuck. Whether it be helping Carrie or the others with planning escapes or other situations the patients end up in, Jay is good at figuring a way out of the problem at hand. They sometimes are a little stubborn about things and their attempts to figure things out, and usually try to not seek others’ help on these things.
Scatterbrained
Jay is a quick thinker jumping from one idea to the next, and not a long in-between. They struggle with staying focused on one thing at a time and their mind gets pretty scattered, hence being “scatterbrained”. They try to organize their thoughts, but can’t quite get the hang of it– at least not easily. It’s a little difficult for them to deal with sometimes when they just want to concentrate on something.
Conflicted
Jay is able to understand how people feel pretty well and relate to others… …and they understand everyone’s differing perspectives, but they struggle with choosing or taking sides and tend to just follow whoever they’re with. They feel very divided between their friends, particularly the others and Hemera and her attempts at trying to protect them and everyone else. Though Jay likes taking risks, they aren’t totally sure of their choices to do so sometimes.
Helpful
They’re really good with words and giving advice, and always very supportive to their friends or even strangers (that they trust). They’re good at being helpful during conflict and mediating things, especially when their friends or other people in general are arguing about something. Jay is skilled at helping people calm down when they’re stressed out or upset, but struggle to do the same for themselves sometimes. They try hard to do the right thing in most situations, regardless of what people like Hemera might say.
Likes
Drawing, ferries, video games, cartoons, reading, trying new things, being helpful, staying up late, their friends
Dislikes
Inability to control situations or their luck, waking up early, being pushed around, being bored

Since it's been a hot minute and with more new characters, how would rate the new thieves’ designs and their personas?
Oh boy! Uh, when was the last time you asked this...? Looks like January of last year, if I didn't forget to tag a later ask that you sent in...? That was before the open beta, even! Actually, that was so long ago that some of my thoughts on the characters back then have changed, too, heh (like, Yuki's outfit has really grown on me)!
Let's see, that means I need to cover Marian, Vino, Phoebe, Chord, Wind, Messa, Cherish, Howler, Matoi, Turbo, Ange, and Luce, setting aside all the alternate versions of characters for the moment... well, I'll give it a shot!
Same disclaimers as last time; For thieves, I’m just commenting on what the design looks like it’s doing/trying to do, and whether I think it works and I like it. For Personas, I’m not really taking into account how well they do (or don’t) represent the figure they’re supposed to be, just how well I think the design gets its concept across, and does (or doesn’t) match its thief. And of course, these are all just my personal opinions!
First up- Marian and Thalia!
As far as conveying an idea, it's pretty undeniable that Marian gets the "nurse" concept across, haha. There's not really much else to say about that- she looks like a combat nurse! It's very successful as far as that goes. I like the color pairing of the light off-white/cream color with the dark, warm purple, it's visually pleasing. The pop of hot pink for the icon on her hat is a little out of place, but it's not particularly distracting, though it does draw attention. Her mask is also a little thematically weird, looking more like stylized bird wings, but again, it's not distracting for it. Overall, Marian's design is fine. I wouldn't say I love it, but just because it's not really my personal aesthetic; it's very successful for what it's trying to do. It doesn't feel the most like a thief, but it accomplishes "combat nurse" so well that I can't really dock her points for that.
It also works very well with Thalia, whose design I actually like a lot more. Thalia brings a plant element into her design that Marian lacks (other than the flower icon on her hat), but the shared colors and syringe-like lower body really tie her to Marian all the same. Her dress feels just a little disorganized- I'm not quite sure what's going on with the diagonal white strip of fabric over her dress, or what exactly her dress is doing underneath that?- but it's a minor detail that you only notice if you're really looking at her, anyway. Overall, a fun Persona design!
Next, Vino and Ampelos!
Vino's great, it has to be said. Her blue and cyan jacket is easily my favorite part of her design- it's so cool, I could totally see myself wearing a jacket like that! I love her flowing white hair and eyepatch mask, too. I'll admit I don't really get how Vino's sort of... vaguely sci-fi (cyberpunk?), casually-combat-armored look is supposed to tie into her desires as a jazz musician...? But it does give an overall cohesive look and feeling, even if it's one that I'm not exactly sure what words to use to describe. There are a few details that are a bit odd- why does the thing she's wearing on her torso wrap around her crotch, over her pants?- but it all still looks good, even if I don't quite understand the logic. She also feels like a bit of a criminal, and it's always a plus to me when the outfit feels like a thief, though that's a difficult quality to define.
As for Ampelos... well, I love that she's a glider, that's really fun. Her kind of manta ray shape, and the almost organic purple stuff wrapped around her, is really fun. Actually, her whole back design is really solid, though the blue gemstones throw off the sci-fi feeling a little.
But... I'll be honest, while the humanlike head on her stomach (?) is fine, I guess, the weird torso with a mesh top almost ruins her design for me. It's so... weird and clunky in a way I don't like? I don't understand why she needed to have a full feminine upper torso on her stomach, instead of just incorporating part of a feminine human face or something. It feels a bit incongruous with the rest of the design, and maybe that's the intention behind it, but I just don't like it. I want her to be the manta ray, not feel like something encased inside it.
In terms of going with Vino, they're fine as a pair. I wouldn't quite say they match, or otherwise really go together, but you can look at Ampelos and believe that's Vino's Persona; she looks more like Vino's Persona than anyone else's, heh.
Phoebe and Urania!
To start off, I'm not familiar enough with the culture that Phoebe's outfit could be potentially be considered appropriative of to really comment on how her outfit does or doesn't appropriate it, so I won't try to speak on something I'm uninformed about here. I just wanted to acknowledge that, because it'd feel like ignoring things to not even mention it.
I do really like her color scheme. The very-slightly-teal green, gold, and black look very nice together, and the color balance between the black base, pops of green, and gold details really ties together nicely, too. Her mask disrupts this a bit, with the weird silver/white and the blue, almost peacock feather-like attachment. But it blends into her face and skintone enough that, despite feeling kind of out-of-place if you really look at it, it's not so noticeable unless you're really looking at it. In terms of pure aesthetic quality, it's a solid outfit, and conveys both a dancer and a thief, so it's successful in that respect.
Urania is super pretty! She brings the gold to the forefront, and adds quite a bit more blue, which I think serves her really well. The green wing-like appendages, the big golden crescent moon, the blue horns, and the multi-color hat/visor things that the wings attach to on her head are probably my favorite parts. It's a bit of a shame to me that Phoebe doesn't ride on her in any way, like the other navigators do, but it's also really funny to imagine Phoebe just standing off to the side a bit uselessly while the other Thieves are fighting, until her skills charge up. Phoebe and Urania certainly aren't mismatched, and I think they make a good duo, but when I see them together I can't help but wish Phoebe looked a bit more like Urania, haha.
Chord and Calliope!
I really like Chord's outfit, actually. It feels very rockstar, with a hint of punk/metal, which makes sense given Babymetal was an inspiration for her design. It just makes me wish Ayaka's musical style actually even remotely matched this vibe! In that sense, I'd say Chord's outfit is very successful in conveying what they wanted to convey with it, but extremely strange as an outfit that's supposed to convey Ayaka's desires. But I wish it did! Her sort of soft, generically-pleasing pop music isn't my personal musical taste at all, but I really enjoy rock/punk/metal music.
Heh, that aside, my favorite parts of Chord's outfit are probably the thin yellow stripes accompanying the bigger yellow details, the long yellow gloves with black details that make them look shorter on the back of her arm, and her asymmetrical, partially-buckled skirt over black shorts. I do think her mask (and to a lesser extent, spiky cat-ear-like hat) are a bit out of place with the rest of her design, because they're so much more spiky/pointy than the rest of her outfit, which feels more sleek? I don't hate them, but I do wish they'd been styled a bit differently.
I'm also a big fan of Calliope's design. I love that she feels like a microphone or speaker come to life, with almost skeletal arms, and her top hat head is a little silly, but also a fun design choice. She's a lot more colorful than Chord, so I wouldn't quite say they match, but she also works well as a backdrop behind Chord, and reinforces the musical theme, so I'd still say they go together well.
Wind and Chiyome!
Wind's design is fun! It feels like a kimono modified for thiefy activities, though one would expect the big bell on her back to get in the way of that. I love the long sleeves with the bit of pattern on them, the ropes that trail behind her, and the heeled, slightly armored boots. I don't understand why her gloves are teal, though, or why her kimono top comes out under her belt as just that sort of triangular-shaped flap of fabric? In the gloves' case, I do at least like teal and red together, so while I don't understand it, I also don't mind it. But making the fabric flap triangular just seems strange- I would've made a bit of fabric sticking out from under her belt the same length all the way around, or just not included it at all, instead. But overall, I like Wind's thief outfit, and I think it works well as a traditional Japanese-inspired thief outfit, though I'm not sure exactly what kind of thief I'd say she is. It doesn't quite come across as a ninja, despite Chiyome.
Speaking of Chiyome, her design is fun as well. I love her like, permanently-intense facial expression? It's a little silly. Her hairstyle, and the cape thing she wears over her top/sleeves, are probably my other favorite parts of her design. It's also really fun that she has a swing for Wind! Her ninja star/kunai feet are really silly, too. I don't have any major complaints about her design, but I don't really get why her face is pink (I guess it's meant to look like face paint, but why pink?), and honestly I think it was a little boring to give her such a cinched waist when that's not really the silhouette a kimono obi creates, but that's more of a nitpick. She goes quite well with Wind, although I'd say they almost look a little too similar sometimes, heh!
Messa and Harpy!
Messa's design is fun, I love a plague doctor. My favorite details are probably the really feathery collar on his jacket- though honestly, the whole jacket's pretty fun- his gloves, and the silly pointed tips of his boots. His outfit does feel a little messy/disorganized, but that actually fits pretty well with Kira as a person, given he repeatedly says he doesn't care much about fashion and doesn't like to think about it. I'll admit, I'm not sure a plague doctor is quite the right representation for his desires relating to being a good doctor, haha, but I think it works anyway because of his tendency for morbid jokes. I don't know if he feels quite thiefy enough for my tastes, but he's certainly not too far off.
Harpy is... fine. I don't dislike him, but he doesn't quite have much visual appeal to me, personally. The feathers/knives going down his back are kind of fun, though. Since his design feels a bit like a haphazard mess (which, again, I think suits Messa's personality, even if it's not to my tastes), he gives me a vaguely medical malpractice/Frankenstein's monster-type vibe? Not quite all the way there, but a little bit of that impression. He could stand to match with Messa's design a little more than he currently does, but they at least have feathers as a sort of unifying feature. Harpy looks a little like a terrible Swiss army knife that Messa wields, heh!
Cherish and Amalthea!
Cherish's design is fun! Right off the bat, you get the impression of a knight/paladin, which certainly matches with his desire to help/protect. My favorite parts are the ice flower on his pauldron, his cape, and his gold tie. His overall look is really interesting, because between the knight theme and the tie/suitlike details, he could have looked very straight-laced. But the asymmetry of his hair/mask, pauldron, gauntlet, and belt, and the torn edges of his cape, help disrupt that in a good way, and overall he feels serious but not uptight. The little gap in his chest armor/vest/thing that shows off an extra bit of his tie does feel a little silly and unnecessary, but I don't hate it. He doesn't quite feel like a thief, but you can kind of imagine him as a knight that's been fighting for what's right, even if people are against him, which isn't too far off from that.
And he goes great with Amalthea! They have very similar color schemes, but different balances of those colors, which makes them look extremely cohesive, but not identical. And the spiky ice on his back mirrors the spiky ice flower on Cherish! I really like the way Amalthea feels like several pieces of armor floating together as a single person, as well as the ice crystals on his back, and the designs of his shields/arms(?). Overall, I'm not sure Amalthea is quite a favorite of mine, but I do really like his design, and he pairs super well with Cherish.
Howler and Aura!
Howler is so silly, I love that her outfit is like a combat fursuit. It ties in very well with her desires as the #1 Shichi-kun fangirl, while still feeling reasonably thiefy. I've said it before, but I love her oversized hood (that covers her eyes in her portraits), and the straps on her arms, and the oversized paws are really fun, too. If I'm being honest, I don't love that it's a skintight bodysuit- with how introverted Runa can be, it doesn't quite feel like something she'd wear, especially when the actual Shichi-kun costume is so bulky- but it does make her feel more mobile/agile, and thiefy, so I guess it can get a pass. I think the only other sort-of complaint I have is that I'm also not super big on the pink pawprints on her waist? The rest of the design seems very dedicated to making her look like a dog, but those sort of break the immersion (in a sense) because that's not a place that a dog would have paws/pawprints. I guess they wanted to keep it visually interesting, but I feel like there's a better way to have done that?
I LOVE Aura. Probably my favorite Persona design in the game right now. She's so distinct from the other Personas, so nonhuman while still having a recognizable face! I love basically everything about her head. The stars on the back of her paws are fun, too, though I don't quite understand why they're there, or what the silver/white, rectangular things looping around her are. I really like them, even if I don't quite know what they're supposed to be! I like her lack of legs, too. She feels like a weird dog/fire spirit that popped out of the ground. She goes well with Howler on merit of looking doglike alone, though, and as a sort of dark, slightly ominous doglike figure behind the cute dog girl.

Matoi and Minthe!
Matoi's outfit is alright, though I wish the parts that I really like were more prominent. My favorite parts are the mask, the long-sleeved, almost kimono-like half of her top, and the white, bow-like thing affixed to her back. The rest feels sort of like combat gear, but besides the little white bow on her hip, it feels kind of... generic? A bit boring? It really doesn't feel like a firefighter at all, for one, but it also just feels like anyone could have worn that part of the outfit. The asymmetry with only part of her outfit looking a little more traditionally-Japanese is fun, but I feel like the rest of the outfit really doesn't live up to what was set up here. It's not bad, it just doesn't feel meaningful, because it doesn't really convey a firefighter but also doesn't feel connected to Mio in any other way.
Minthe's also sort of a... fine but not really captivating design, to me. I love her inky tail as the lower half of her body, and there's at least a clear samurai-like theme going on with her clothing. Something about the faces on her shoulders and the hat she's wearing vaguely remind me of a clove of garlic, though, and however sensible or nonsensical that may sound, that's all I can think of when I see her now, haha. I hate the weird cut in her armor that reveals the underside of her chest, it feels totally unnecessary and doesn't add anything to her theme. Overall, while not a bad design, she feels a bit disorganized, like they wanted to make a samurai but then kept adding other little things on top of that, and got away from the core idea a bit. Her largely white palette is a nice contrast to Matoi's black palette, and there's a bit of connection between her samurai theme and Matoi's bits of traditional Japanese theme, though I think an added unifying element between the two of them would've helped a lot.
Turbo and Pitys!
Turbo's design is... meh, in my opinion. I like her real world outfit way more, though that's a bit of a tangent. For one, it doesn't really call to mind racing, let alone a race queen, although I'll grant that race queen outfits tend to be a bit skimpier than what I'd really want for a thief outfit, so maybe that's for the best. Still, I think it would've felt more successful if they'd gone in a different direction with it. I do like the fingerless gloves with bright gold palms, the blue and gold lines, and her necklace/choker thing?
But it feels a bit boring to me, and again, a lot of the details don't seem to really connect to her desires or her as a person. The way it's like a one-piece swimsuit, with some kind of pants/leggings, super low-cut, under it, also isn't really to my tastes, but that's more personal preference.
As for Pitys, she's also... fine, I guess? She sort of vaguely feels like she could be some kind of Transformer or car-racing mascot, but she also feels a bit detached from any meaning or significance to Turbo overall. I like the circles- almost vaguely like steering wheels?- between her torso and her legs, and the oval cut-outs with blue thorns in her lower legs. The way her arms seem to kind of be a corkscrew of metal, rather than a solid arm wrapped with something, is neat, too! But she doesn't really feel like the right Persona design for Turbo, even if their color schemes go together well enough. There's just this feeling of disconnect between their themes, and the idea of racing in general.

Ange and Euterpe!
Ange is cute, I have to give her that! She feels a bit more idol/magical girl than angel, to me, but given she wants to be a singer, I suppose that actually fits her desires better, and since she's usually sitting on Euterpe, that brings the angel vibe in, anyway. It's not quite my personal taste, but I don't dislike it, either. The color scheme of light, nearly-white blues, mixed with some darker blues and a pop of magenta, is very nice. My favorite parts are probably the ruffles/tails of fabric on her waist (though I kind of wish it was at least a bit of a skirt, too), the bow + ribbons in her hair, and the detailed sleeve/cuffs on her lower arms. Overall, it's visually-pleasing, conveys more or less her desires, and feels reasonably in-character for her to wear! Ange's mask does seem to match Euterpe's shape language a bit more than Ange's own, but given she takes off the mask to summon Euterpe, it at least feels like there's a logical connection there.
Euterpe is also super fun! I love that she feels like an angel, but, as others have also pointed out, more like one of the nonhuman-looking angels, rather than a generic depiction of an angel. Making the chair the center of her design, which she revolves around, works great for a Persona that also functions as a mobility aid (which I do want to believe Euterpe is meant to be, at least a bit). She has a really nice balance of similar colors to Ange, which makes her great as an accessory/backdrop to Ange. I do think it's a little silly that she has a nose and mouth on the back of the chair:
But I wouldn't say I mind that, exactly, either, because it's silly in a fun way, and doesn't detract from the rest of the design (I am so glad they didn't try to fit boobs onto the chair somehow). Overall, a really nice, intricate but not overly so, design that's pleasing to the eye, conveys the idea, and works well with Ange! Not my personal favorite Persona design, but I think she's a very successful one that I do like a lot.
And last but not least, Luce and Ghino!
Luce's design is quite fun. Unfortunately, he's so new that I don't know him very well, and can't speak about whether it really conveys his desires, but I do like it! It feels very princely, but in a sort of fairytale, not-quite-realistic way. It's more like a prince costume I'd expect to see on stage, or in a movie, which does seem like it would fit with Shouki as an actor? At the very least, I would assume from his outfit that his awakening isn't about deciding he doesn't want to be an actor, haha! I think my favorite parts of it are the cape over one shoulder, the striped, puffy sleeves, and the boots as a whole. I think my only real complaint is that he doesn't look like much of a thief, heh, but then, Crow doesn't either, and it seems like Luce has at least some aspects of his role.
As for Ghino, he's another design that I like, though he's not quite a favorite. I like the kind of... plasma-like thing coming off of his hat, sort of like feather(s) might? I also like the big gear thing floating behind his head, his whole shoulder/cape thing, and the starry ribbon (?) thing on his hip. The exposed heart in his chest is super cool, too. He works really well as a backdrop to Luce, in sort of a literal stage sense- he feels like the entire stage (the curtains, the mechanical aspects, the decor) behind/around Luce during his performance! His color scheme also complements Luce's nicely, looking like a darker version of him that blends into the background a bit more while Luce himself takes the spotlight. Overall, a really good pair!
-
I hope that's what you wanted! I can go through the variants in a separate ask if you wanted those as well, but given Tumblr's limit of 30 images per post, I couldn't have possibly fit them in with these guys, haha. Plus, breaking them into two separate posts gives me a bit of a break! But feel free to ask if you wanted my thoughts on those, too.

HIHIII first of all i absolutely love ur art its so inspiring to me as a mii artist 😭😭🥹🥹
secondly id like to ask, what brushes do you use? how do you go about rendering? about compositions? i especially love how you place characters, that being evident in your nikki and elisa pieces! 🙏🙂↕️
i hope this isnt pressuring or uncomfortable to u, im just really curious about ur art process! 🙏🙂↕️
hello !!! thank you for asking :D
1) here are the brushes i use
2) whenever i render i like try to make it look messy but neat at the same time??? if that even makes sense idk if i’m doing it right. i try not to go over my entire sketch so i can give it that messy look. (good(?) example is my elisa and lucia works. i didn’t adapt over to the pencil lineart back then but you can see where i didn’t bother to even try lol. a good example is my anne and alice post. you can see i didn’t really bother to erase the excess lineart of their hair). again not sure if i’m doing it right but i try to give the illusion of stuff seeming well detailed but they are just scribbles yk?? (an example is my marriane work)
i think this ask will help you out too since it talks about how i use colors :)
3) for composition i try not to make my entire drawing look stiff if that makes sense. i try to give everything a “tilt” rather than making everything “straight”. i also zoom in on things sometimes to not make it feel empty
take my elisa work for example. now imagine if i didn’t position her at an angle and she’s zoomed out a bit, making you see her full body. if you compare that to what i did actually drew, you can see the one i made is more dynamic, rather than her just standing there
basically, i try to make everything seem uneven rather than organized ??? if that makes sense (well, not on everything i make, but you get the point)
honestly i just give everything to try to not make my drawings look boring (besides my doodles) so i genuinely have no idea what i’m doing so i hope what i just explained makes sense 😞
(also anon i’m glad you chose those two works bc looking back i’d say their composition is my favorite compared to my other works HOLY?? my works now seem so bland compared to them what happened 💔)
any that’s all i have to say? i’m no art professional i just do what my mind thinks🙂↕️i hope you were able to understand all of this because i’m not good at explaining things as said before. please let me know if there wasn’t anything i explained well or if you have any more questions. thank you for asking (^-^)v

➤ 「 SYD'S CHARACTER ZONE! 」 💘✨️ 18+ FOLLOWS ONLY 🙏
@lyril 🌈 SYD | 21 | SHE/HER 🌟 > LIST OF GUYS < 🌟 TAGS 🌈 @vizabel
❤️— CHARACTERPOSTING / 🔞 / SHIPPING —❤️
hello, i'm Syd, and welcome to my little world for being Sick in The Head about Characters. Hooray ! 🌟

➤ 「 GENERAL INFO! 」 ❓️
essentially, this is a place for me to be more intense about my characterposting (by documenting my stages of obsession, gushing, and stuff i enjoy about my favoritest little freaks), to store "blorbo"-related posts, share my friends and mutuals' selfship art, as well as shipping/romantic/lovey-dovey related content in general, and to dabble in my own oc x canon ideas, to log and share thoughts regarding my own sexuality expression that i don't feel comfortable with on my main accounts, any NSFW content, and to be annoying! ❤️
i've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how exactly to split these blogs... 🙏 (and i've definitely got a lot of old stuff i need to share here eventually, but i'm trying to just come around to it naturally as i go through interests again!)
of course, since i am an adult, i am only comfortable talking about this stuff in a space with other adults, and i May link to share more explicit drawings and thoughts of my own in the future! i am too shy for that right now, though... as such, for now, this is not quite a NSFW blog as much as it is a blog that sometimes has suggestive material on it, which is why i'm mostly comfortable to link from my main — there's not really anything crazy on here for now, and tumblr. so, please don't follow if you're uncomfortable with that (obviously) or your friend syd being down bad in general! any content that i consider to be NSFW will be tagged with 🔞, community labeled, or externally linked to if possible! (since tumblr is still quite strict about it...)
i don't Quite consider myself a "selfshipper" — so, i guess it's moreso up to you to decide if you're comfortable interacting if we "share" a character. 🤔
i do tend to use the terminology for community and communication's sake, occasionally indulge in a self insert or OC or two of the same purposes, and i will reblog posts and art about the topic, but overall it's stillllll a bit of a different zone than i am in, even if i also spend all my time thinking about these guys... i am a warrior of the Cuck chair first and foremost! but, i am with everyone in spirit for sure, and we can say i am if that means i get invited to the #Party! 😁

Hey Rontra, I'm properly digging through the archives, but I will forever love this animatic you did for Offal Hunt: https://www.tumblr.com/actualbampot/190639258301/rontra-cinder-voice-im-so-stressed-that?source=share
I really want to try making an animatic, but I have no idea what the workflow for this is. Was it a million still images fed into video editing software, or is there anything I'm missing/do you have any helpful tips?
Thanks so much.
ah, thank you, i'm glad you like it!
now i dont Usually really make animatics specifically, i just "make videos", so most of my experience is in PMVs (and adjacent fields) and that shows. but the act of Assembling them can be similar so the experience is relevant :p
there's lots of ways to do it and ultimately depends on what you find easiest for your idea. drawing images in your art software and then assembling them in a video editor is probably the simplest way, especially if it's a longer video (more numerous (or elaborate) "shots" = probably easier to organize in a video editing timeline)
if your preferred drawing software doesn't have audio import, you're probably better off arranging them in a video editor as well... especially if you have parts with animation in them! clip studio paint for example didn't always have audio importing, so before then you had to just kinda guess at the timing and keep tweaking your animation until it worked--or, more conveniently (though it doesn't feel like it), save each frame individually and time them in a separate program
and if youre using a non-linear video editor you can easily add/replace placeholders too which is convenient. i often put text placeholders that describe what i need to draw for the missing part, so i don't forget xD
religion of loneliness was made this way because it's elaborate and long and has a lot of parts and effects i wanted to do. a video editing software is usually more comfortable for that kind of thing (depending on which softwares are available to you ofc)... even the small bits of animation it has are individual pngs i assembled in the video editor
but for no particular reason, so was therefore you and me -- this video's super simple! i just felt like taking it into the video editor because i'm more comfortable there. the characters were drawn in clip studio and the text/bg/whatever was done in the video editor, even though it could've easily all just been baked into the same pngs bdfhjgfdjk
in this workflow you can also use finished animation cuts as separate gifs/mp4s/whatever where needed ofc, depending. i sometimes mix and match
on the other hand, your link in particular ("what's gonna happen") was made entirely in one clip studio paint file, after csp added the ability to import audio into its animation timeline. this video is a very simple mix of animation and tweening, which are both doable from inside clip studio now, so i said fuck it and crammed everything into one file
it looks like this in clip studio paint*
that kind of thing works for me because im a little messy and i like being able to redraw or adjust stuff inside the same software instead of switching back and forth. but for more elaborate project it will probably start wearing on your sanity to have everything crammed into one file (not to mention the file size might become unwieldy depending on what you're working with)
not all drawing programs will have animation features or audio import as part of their kit, which can make things troublesome. but if you're using animation software or an art software with animation features, it's possible to just do it all inside that program with relative ease like that (though some of them can be quirky to Learn)
as an aside, the original black eyes was made entirely in photoshop of all things because csp didn't have as many tools back then, and you can tell because . that is not a brush ive ever used and the pans/crossfades are Occasionally Very Weird JHBHSJK i could've just used a video editor but noooo. photoshop timeline tools ONLY No Assists
and that video is All still images so it could've easily been handled either way. important part is it worked out and i had fun messing around in there
i'm sure there's some other workflows out there someone finds super useful but i think the Main Branches are definitely
drawing software + video software (tag team)
drawing/animation software with audio import capability (solo job)
the first one tends to be more accessible i think? not only like Generally Speaking because there are more free drawing programs and more free video editors than there are free programs with drawing + animating + timeline editing all together (which . is true) BUT ALSO because even when we already have our programs ready the learning curve is usually sharper for the all-in-one and can be challenging to figure out, depending
but for me when im just playing around in there i find working all in the same program gives me a lot of flexibility. since i don't have to keep taking an image back and forth between the drawing room and the video editing room if i have to change something. yknow
it depends on the project. just try stuff out idk :)
my advice is definitely to start smaller and don't jump into making like a 3-minute video right away until you're more comfortable with your developing workflow. but that's about it. i think beyond that its Fuck Around And Find Out HAHAH i dunno
if theres anything specific i missed im sorryyy but you can ask and i can try 😂 good luuuuck!!
*to compare i guess, RoL looks like this -- behold the filenames of a genius

Someone asked what my process was to make the Rickbot comic, so I thought I'd make a separate post to show it. The process was kinda all over the place and spread over many months from December 2022 up till June 2023, so I'll try my best to make it understandable. And if you have any questions feel free to ask them!
The idea
So it all started with the idea of; What if Rickbot came back? And then the idea immediately made me think of two things;
How would Rickbot react?
Why is he brought back?
Which ended up with these two scenarios in my mind;
A. Rickbot awakens and he's not happy B. Rick tells the reason he's activated again
These were the very first scenes that started it all.
So then the question became, how do I go from point A to point B?
I would take moments from the show as reference for how they would act in these scenarios. And I'd take inspiration from manga and other comics of how I wanted the dialogue to flow and what the comic layouts would look like. In this case I knew a lot of dialogue would be involved cause these guys talk a lot! But I also didn't want the panels to feel too crowded and rushed so I limited myself to the amount of dialogue per panel.
Right now I'm writing it down like it was very planned, but for me this was often a very subconscious thing I did. I just thought up scenarios while I was taking walks or daydreaming in the shower etc. And sometimes these very specific moments would pop up that I would write down or draw out later.
I would make mini thumbnails of how I wanted the pages to go and write the dialogue next to it. At this point I'm mainly thinking of what I want characters to say and how I want the story to flow. Sometimes I make multiple versions of the same scenario to see how it flows better.
At times I even only write down dialogue and then make the thumbnails for them later. I have a tiny a6 sketchbook for little thumbnails and ideas like this. These were often moments were I didn't know where I wanted to take the comic yet, so I would separate the two to keep it more organized for myself.
As you might have noticed, not everything is the same in the final comic. I always fine-tune or change stuff up as I go. Sometimes things don't flow as well as I thought they did or some dialogue feels awkward or unnecessary.
Sketching
Once all the pages were planned and I have a good idea of how the story would go I opened a new Clip Studio Paint file and used the comic feature to set that up.
I would then copy the thumbnails I made in the page files and exported a thumbnail draft of the whole comic and 'read' through it to see how it flowed.
After I was satisfied I finally started sketching the pages.
Most of the pages stayed the same from the thumbnail, aside from some poses or expressions here and there. But I would also change up stuff I wasn't satisfied with.
For example, initially the Prime panel looked like the left one, but I didn't like how the pose flowed with the text balloons. There was a lot of empty space as well. So I decided to redo it to the one on the right.
Even now for the final version I'm thinking of resizing Rick a bit more. These kind of changes just happen throughout the process.
The backgrounds
I knew the comic would only take place in the garage, so to save myself a lot of time I decided to make it in 3d.
First I decided to sketch out the four walls of the garage as planes;
Then I imported those in Blender. I did some simple 3d modeling to get the basic shapes for the counters and the cabinet et voila! 3d sketch version of the garage!
I know this is a very watered down explanation, but trying to explain how I did it would take a whole new tutorial. And there are many other ones out there that explain it much better than I could. I was lucky that I already have some Blender experience cause of past works I've done for school and stuff.
But if you got the time to delve into it I would recommend it! For this here you only need to know the basics. Also Blender is free to download :)
This has saved me a lotttt of time drawing the same backgrounds over and over again!
Cover
Lastly I did the cover. That one has also gone through multiple versions. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but I wasn't happy with the execution so I redrew that one as well.

So that's the whole process so far. I do I wanna continue the comic once I got the energy to work on it again. Gonna do some test pages first to see what kind of rendering I wanna go for. Not sure if'll be in black and white, color or a combo...we'll see.
I hope this helps! And if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask them.
