This is a must read article full of quotes from 91 prominent people, who know Trump well, including many Republicans who worked with him. This is a gift🎁link, so you can read the entire article. Below are some excerpts and quotes.
In any election, it’s hard to know whose word to trust. And in a polarized country, many Americans distrust any information that comes from the other side of the political divide. That’s why the criticism of Donald Trump by those who served with him in the White House and by members of his own party is so striking. Dozens of people who know him well, including the 91 listed here, have raised alarms about his character and fitness for office — his family and friends, world leaders and business associates, his fellow conservatives and his political appointees — even though they had nothing to gain from doing so. Some have even spoken out at the expense of their own careers or political interests. The New York Times editorial board has made its case that Mr. Trump is unfit to lead. But the strongest case against him may come from his own people. For those Americans who are still tempted to return him to the presidency or to not vote in November, it is worth considering the assessment of Mr. Trump by those who have seen him up close. “‘There is reporting at other federal agencies [in addition to the U.S. Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service which handles the U.S. Government’s payment system] indicating that DOGE members have performed unauthorized changes and locked civil servants out of the sensitive systems they gained access to,’ the ‘Recommendations’ portion of the email continues. ‘We further recommend that DOGE members be placed under insider threat monitoring and alerting after their access to payment systems is revoked. Continued access to any payment systems by DOGE members, even “read only,” likely poses the single greatest insider threat risk the Bureau of the Fiscal Service has ever faced.’”

Before people in any political party start celebrating I want to remind people Trump getting shot isn’t a good thing
Now I want to be very clear that I am not saying that Trump is a good person
What I am saying is that this event is going to spark a lot fear in the general public, especially those who support Trump and traditional American views, to them this will be seen as an attack on America, democracy, and freedom, the imagine of trump with his fist in the air and blood on his face will be an image to rally behind, people will be radicalized and pushed further right, more than they already are
And people who who were on the fence about their support of Trump won’t be anymore, this will be the moment people chose to support him intensely or not
Personally I think this attack was supposed to do this, clearly this wasn’t done with a intent to kill, if it was they would have used a better weapon not a BB gun, if your intention was to kill or put out of commission why would you not use a better weapon (but that’s just my opinion and bias, there is no current evidence that I am aware of to claim this was a planned attack/inside job)
Quick note: We currently aren’t 100% what kind of weapon was used, some have assumed it was a BB gun based off the sound of the shot, thank you to the people who corrected me

I had my day to wallow, and I'm only making a personal post only once about how I feel mixed in with the advice I've seen circulating around me since there's enough doom and gloom energy to fuel a Sailor Moon villain for the next millennia.
We are not letting misogyny win. We are not letting racism win. We are not letting xenophobia win. We are not letting homophobia win. It feels that way and it's gonna suck. It's gonna suck ass for a long time. I have no idea if we'll see the light at the end of the tunnel in our lifetime, but we're not gonna roll over and let hate win. If we act like this is the end, then it will be.
There are people who are planning to pack their bags and leave. I get it. Do what you gotta do to ensure you and your family's safety and peace of mind. If you can, please get your vaccines before January, start on getting your passport, even if you currently can't afford to go anywhere. You at least will have the option to flee if need be.
However, there are many who do not have the luxury to leave. We should've been able to look out for each other with our government, but now we're going to do so despite our government. Download and buy physical every Queer/BIPOC media you can. Be it comic, mv, movie, animated short, etc. Safeguard your history. Support your communities. Blood related and chosen. Think globally; act locally.
It's a lot, so focus on what you can control. Grieve, but don't get lost in it. Find outlets for your sanity in art, gardening, writing, video games, watch parties with friends.
Don't let your love and hope be taken away. I'm luckier than many and I'm not leaving you behind. I'm supporting you in whatever way I'm able to the very end. I love you. Stay safe.
If I see comments on this saying why the new presidency is actually better for the country, "You're delusional", "Cry harder", "You're over reacting", etc, just block me back.

The Los Angeles fires won’t affect climate denial. They should.
The disastrous California wildfires are another undeniable sign of the dangers of climate change.
Tumblr media
"The hellish fires tearing through the Los Angeles area are a preview of what’s to come if politicians, ideologues and Big Oil continue to ignore climate change. The latest disaster "erupted following a stark shift from wet weather to extremely dry weather — a phenomenon scientists describe as ‘hydroclimate whiplash,’" the Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday. “New research shows these abrupt wet-to-dry and dry-to-wet swings, which can worsen wildfires, flooding and other hazards, are growing more frequent and intense because of human-caused climate change.” [...] The data is the data: “In [a] study, published Thursday in the journal Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, the researchers examined global weather records and found that hydroclimate whiplash events have already grown 31% to 66% since the mid-1900s, and are likely to more than double in a scenario in which the world reaches 3 degrees Celsius, or 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit, of warming.”
Jennifer Rubin does an excellent job of fighting some of the MAGA disinformation about why the LA wildfires are so out of control. More importantly, she brings the focus back to what it should be--the fact that climate change is real and is creating these kinds of disasters. This is a gift 🎁 link so there is no paywall; I encourage you to read the entire article.
Another excellent article about this is from Inside Climate News, which provided the illustration below about how the Santa Ana winds are created and how they have contributed to the wildfire devastation currently happening in LA.

Courtney Hagle at MMFA:
Politico journalist Alex Isenstadt’s forthcoming book about President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House reportedly claims that Trump “seriously considered tapping Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo as his running mate, before being talked out of it by his team.”  According to a January 8 report by CNN, Isenstadt writes that Bartiromo was a “Trump favorite” for her fervent defenses and softball interviews of the president-elect. As per Isenstadt, Trump “was dead serious about Bartiromo and was making the case for her" to be his running mate, but ultimately there “was no time to vet Bartiromo, as they had spent months doing with other candidates." Bartiromo repeatedly used her Fox show to fan the conspiratorial flames during the 2020 election and its aftermath. When she interviewed Sidney Powell about “voting irregularities” in November 2020, Bartiromo was aware that the Trump lawyer would “respond with conspiracy theories about Dominion” based on sources that Powell admitted herself were “pretty wackadoodle” — yet Bartiromo still gave credibility to Powell’s “far-fetched claims.” The lawsuit filings revealed that Fox News knew about Bartiromo’s conspiratorial coverage but did little to stop it, with executives privately lamenting that Bartiromo amplified “GOP conspiracy theorists.” Bartiromo also used the right-wing social media app Parler to push a slew of election conspiracy theories. Bartiromo was instrumental in advancing 2020 election conspiracy theories that led to the January 6 insurrection, particularly the claims that Dominion and Smartmatic voting machines flipped votes. The companies sued Fox News and other conservative media outlets for spreading these bogus conspiracy theories, and Fox ultimately settled with Dominion for $787 million. Bartiromo was repeatedly named throughout the various lawsuits, and it was later revealed that she took directives from the Trump campaign to promote the plan to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
According to Politico’s Alex Isenstadt’s new book Revenge: The Inside Story Of Trump’s Return To Power, Donald Trump reportedly wanted Fox “Business”/Fox “News” propagandist Maria Bartiromo to be his running mate. That job ultimately went to Ohio Senator JD Vance, and the ticket then won this past November.

not to be a freak but I think when Trump loses he will either kill himself or Putin will let loose the real assasins. it's just the smart move like he knows too much and he's losing all the power he used to have lol. like if I were putin I'd be worried about what kind of information a desperate man like Trump is willing to surrender once he's caught 👀

Tesla, Inc. does not have a Political Action Committee (PAC) and, as a corporation, is prohibited from directly contributing to political campaigns. However, Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has personally made substantial political contributions supporting Donald Trump during the 2024 election cycle.
Musk donated approximately $288 million to Trump’s presidential campaign, making him the largest political donor of the 2024 election cycle.
Additionally, Musk contributed nearly $75 million to America PAC, a super PAC he established to support Trump’s 2024 campaign.
These personal contributions by Musk have significantly influenced the 2024 election, highlighting the substantial impact individual donors can have on political campaigns.

Matt Gertz at MMFA:
A Fox News insider gave Donald Trump's campaign the questions in advance of Trump’s January 2024 town hall on the network, according to a forthcoming book. Later that year, Trump baselessly claimed someone at ABC had “very likely” provided Vice President Kamala Harris with the questions for their debate — and called for government retribution against the network if that were confirmed. CNN reported on the Fox revelations Wednesday after obtaining advance excerpts of Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt’s book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power. Isenstadt writes that shortly before the start of Trump’s Iowa town hall, moderated by Fox anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, a Trump staffer started receiving text messages from a Fox insider with the questions.
“Trump was pissed” about the questions, which he thought were too aggressive, but the campaign “workshopped answers” with him, Isenstadt reported. While it's unclear who might have had access to the town hall questions, there is no shortage of Fox employees who value Trump’s political success over questions of journalistic integrity. The network effectively fused with Trump’s first-term White House, as several network hosts served as his advisers and a revolving door opened up between Fox and his administration. The network’s fawning coverage of his 2024 campaign helped him win the GOP primary and the general election, and he has since named 17 current or former Fox staffers to top posts in his second administration. (A Fox spokesperson told CNN that “we take these matters very seriously and plan to investigate should there prove to be a breach within the network,” a comical sentiment based on the network’s past handling of Trump-related ethics violations.) For his part, Trump subsequently claimed that a campaign receiving the questions from a news outlet source before a high-profile event should trigger serious consequences for the host outlet. Following his disastrous September 2024 debate performance, Trump alleged on his Truth Social platform that “People are saying that Comrade Kamala Harris had the questions from Fake News ABC. I would say it is very likely.” He went on to claim that if that were the case, “ABC’s license should be TERMINATED.”
[...] But when Brendan Carr, a Republican FCC member and the author of Project 2025’s chapter on the commission, was asked about the controversy during a House hearing, he “would not answer if he believed the FCC had grounds to revoke the ABC license after the debate.” Trump has since named Carr to replace Rosenworcel as FCC chair — and Carr subsequently suggested in a letter to Bob Iger, CEO of ABC’s parent company, Disney, that his FCC would closely scrutinize ABC’s affiliate agreements. Trump is an authoritarian who looks for any opportunity to punish news outlets he doesn’t like. But if Isenstadt’s story is accurate, he has no problem taking all the help he can get from favored ones.
According to Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt’s book called Revenge: The Inside Story Of Trump’s Return To Power, Donald Trump got his answers for the Fox town hall in January 2024 in advance by an insider from the channel. Now square that with his BS whining about ABC allegedly “gave” Kamala Harris favorable questions ahead of time.
