Yesterday I got a call setting up an appointment to get measured for a custom wheelchair.

Today Americans woke up to the news of federal aid being frozen. As a chronically ill and disabled person who can only (and barely) work a very limited amount of hours I rely on federal aid. SNAP, Medicaid, HUD. I have no other assistance. I’m terrified and so, so angry that this man has been voted in and given the power to do this. I have no idea what happens next. I have no idea if I should even bother continuing to pursue getting SSDI. I have no idea if I’ll even have a place to live by the middle of next month.

I miss yesterday when I was excitedly looking up potential models of chairs I might be getting.

America is getting weirdness fatigue. It's time to cancel The Trump Show and move on.

Some people who started middle school or high school around 2015 may actually think that Trumpism is normal in American politics. In fact, you'd have to go way back to the McCarthy era (late 1940s to mid 1950s) to find anything close to it.

Trump is to American Politics what COVID-19 is to public health.

Trump is not normal and we need to reinforce institutions of democracy to hinder people like him in the future.

The first thing we can all do is vote – and take more interest in what goes on at the state and local levels which are often neglected by liberals and moderates.

Trump can’t win the general election with 78% of the Republican vote. In 2020, Trump got 94% of the Republican vote and lost. The country would be well served if most of the Haley voters either voted for Biden, voted third party, stayed home or wrote somebody in for president. They don’t have to vote for Biden to thwart Trump. Even Fox “News” has admitted that Trump can’t win without Haley’s supporters. Another symptom of Trump fatigue is that Mike Pence has declined to endorse his candidacy. This is huge news. What if Al Gore had refused to endorse Biden? In addition, 41 out of 44 Trump cabinet members have declined to endorse him. These are the people who know Trump best. This gives millions of Republicans a permission slip to not vote for Trump in November.
