but i am always at all times ready to shout my love for fanfic writers into the stratosphere and since i've been reading more frequently in the fandom since then i actually do have a few new recs (most of which were for mayblade though)

here we gooo

1. @curedeity's entire mayblade collection Ladies First

yes every chapter but if you want my favorite so far it's probably chapter 5 bc i love hikaru and i love ryuga and the way deity portrayed their conflicting feelings and just the AU as a whole is super intriguing... i always enjoy a good haunting tbh

2. Metal Record by @masterofdemise

ESPECIALLY the fifth chapter god yes, the monologue/letter portrays dynamis' feelings SO WELL it's so sad and he's so regretful and it's so tragic, i just live for the tragedy mannn

3. Mayblade '23 by @lady-lazagna

the first chapter is my favorite so far, catch me crying in the club over kenta & ryuga friendship, they mean so much to meee,, i adore the characterization of ryuga, very good, very nice, and the ending DSLAGSAFGL incredible really

4. vienna waits for you by @sundayvalentines

ryo is such a good dad and hikaru is such a good hard-working daughter, i love this duo so much, this kind of snapshot fic is perfect for them and captures their relationship in such a fitting and heartwarming way, yes to everything happening in here

5. The Lancer by Irisviel101

number five was the hardest to decide on but i went with the lancer because i am just so astounded that someone could actually made me like masamune in any way, shape or form lol. even though the fic is so short, it showed that he had some depth in a very subtle way that makes it kind of obvious in hindsight when thinking about the show. i really really liked that.
