Some of you are not true lovers of the gothic genre or toxic yaoi, and that's okay. You don't have to be. It is definitely not for everybody. But if you're not, then a show like IWTV is probably not for you. You can find other media that has ships that meet your standards of wholesomeness and innocence. Don't try and drag the gothic genre and a gothic romance into some purity bullshit. The charm of the genre IS the toxicity and the mess and the nuance of it all.

hard to know where to start, so i guess ill start from the top? ramzi remembers everything before being executed, including having [admittedly murky] memories of his parents.

its mother gave them to ratau because she believed it'd be the safest place for her precious lamb, and her assumption was mostly true

they were left with that adorned handkerchief as a memento of its parents, and he's incredibly attached to it, even if the very sight of it makes him cry

shamura had been the one to catch ramzi in a trap- and despite his pleading he was given no mercy, it causes a rift between them later when it saves shamura from purgatory that will eventually be mended

he refuses to show his grief to anyone, especially the former bishops, and definitely not narinder. they don't wish to worry anyone, though resentment is absolutely a big part of it too, whether the lamb acknowledges it or not...

i'll definitely explain more but after a lot of hard work the lamb eventually enters a polycule and marries all of the former bishops (including narinder) we love toxic yaoi here.

AHHH YES I DO!! I don't have many headcanons but here are some I've thought about them (more so to do with my fix-it au)

Xornoth and Joey actually first met when they were kids! A ~13-year-old Joey had wandered too far from home and ran into some illegal smugglers who wanted to kidnap him and use his feathers for whatever purposes

similarly, Xornoth had just run away from home to train with Exor and saw what was going on. They hadn't fully been corrupted just yet and still held onto a bit of their morality.

Cue Fight For Me from Heathers: The Musical, where Xornoth absolutely kicks those smugglers' asses and Joey watches from a distance absolutely smitten by the strange purple-haired elf boy

Yes, that entire idea was inspired by Fight For Me

To me, Xornoth was a sort of patient 0 when it comes to the corruption, and their demonic appearance was just a very late-stage appearance. So when they meet again so many years later, Joey doesn't recognise Xornoth.

Being a patient 0 of the corruption also means that they were essentially possessed by Exor. So while Xornoth absolutely did fall in love with Joey, and very occasionally pushed against Exors possession to express this, Exor didn't allow them to show it.

Joey made them promise rings during this time, and while Joey wore his 24/7, Xornoth made sure to hide theirs well so Exor wouldn't force them to destroy it

Once Xornoth becomes uncorrupted, they very quickly find the ring and put it back on, even if they're convinced Joey wouldn't love them anymore now they both aren't evil.

As corrupted villains, Jornoth is the most toxic Yaoi couple ever, as normal uncorrupted people, they're more like awkward teenagers trying to figure out how serious relationships work. Joey definitely has a lot more experience, but Xornoth being possessed so young doesn't have much besides what Exor would do with Joey.

I feel like that's an important distinction to make, most of what "Xornoth" and Joey would do as a couple while corrupted was just Exor puppeting Xornoth. So as themself, they don't really know what to do.

I don't think Joey would mind, though. They're starting afresh now, and watching "Big Bad Demon Xornoth" splutter and apologise is utterly adorable to him

Joey is such an attention whore btw, he's always flopping himself on Xornoths lap like a cat and demanding kisses and cuddles from them. Joey is just an overgrown cat, really, and Xornoth is his person.

That being said, Joey definitely doesn't look down on Xornoth though, or up to them like he did while corrupted. They're equals now.

Height wise though, Joey is still forced to look up.

Absolutely no one trusted Joey and Xornoths "new" relationship to go well at all until they saw how easily flustered Xornoth was, like even the tiniest of praises from Joey makes them go red. Which of course means Joey sings their praises in front of everyone so Xornoth turns into a tomato

I think, surprisingly for some, Scott would be the first to change his mind. He's definitely not over the trauma of it all but he knows consciously Joey and Xornoth are good now, and from what he's seen Joey isn't a bad boyfriend for his sibling, so Scott doesn't mind.

Unfortunately for Joey, Shrub is one of the last people to believe Xornoth really is good now.

Tips for writing yaoi? (I need it for a thing later please and thank you)

i love this ask so much i had to let it sit and marinate for awhile.

i'm not a writer, let me make that clear, unless you like my mini comics which only half count. but either way take my word 100% at face value and use all my advice. ok!

just write them as you would regular people. the play off eachothers flaws and positives (of course if you want true and honest toxic yaoi, you can just make them unreasonably cruel for no reason) but make sure they have graphic sex every so often so people remember that they are yaois. this can work with women too (if youre a free thinker)

theres usually a big and a small one. not a definite rule but something you should think about. if their the same size they should have different hair colors. also they should have some sort of animal metaphor. hope this helps

fuck it uncle tupelo toxic yaoi. a brief overview

to set the scene, early 80s, jay farrar (et al) is a high schooler in a band with his brothers and they invite another student in (jeff tweedy) so they can play more gigs. within two months jeff and one of the farrar brothers start beefing and the brother leaves. off to a great start. but its all good they keep playing for the rest of the decade getting their music career going as uncle tupelo.

in 1990 they release no depression, heralding the true beginning of the alt country scene. 1991 there’s already beef with jay and jeff. meanwhile alt rock suddenly shows up but they keep doing country music so they don’t ever really get big commercial success. altho they do get good hits with the march 1992 album. also wikipedia tells me they kicked out a guy in the band for being gay because they (in hindsight) ‘couldn’t emotionally deal with being close friends with a gay person’. could mean nothing. anyways that isnt relevant. more guys enter the band and jay and jeff cannot stop arguing. i haven’t read all the stuff on the topic so don’t take this as gospel but i’ve always gotten a definite vibe of jay a) being really jealous of jeff for no reason and also b) lowkey manipulating and gaslighting him into him thinking he was like. a terrible person. at some point during this jay calls him a mamas boy which is relevant later (see linked song) and is fair he was kind of a sad wet cat of a guy at the time. anyways so jay quits the band and doesn’t even tell jeff he has to hear it from the manager!! but they do a farewell tour which immediately implodes because jay refuses to sing with jeff. insane. but that’s uncle tupelo done and dusted.

here comes my favourite part. all of the people in the band follow jeff into his new band, wilco. wilco releases their first album a.m., which is basically the same sound as the tupelo sound and it kind of flops at the time. it was kind of just jeff releasing something as soon as possible. meanwhile jay goes into his new band, son volt, releases trace which leans more country and it does really well in the scene. critics, as invested in this drama as me, immediately herald jay as the winner of the fight and jeff as a flop.

then wilco releases being there, a hell of a double album in a new musical direction that is also definitely one hundred percent about the implosion of tupelo. and it does sooo much better even though they didn’t even try to make a hit. meanwhile son volt releases THEIR second album, straightaways, and it does okay but not as well as trace. since then wilco has had enormous commercial success (guess who won a grammy!) and son volt went on hiatus a few times and jay farrar has bounced through a few bands.

so that’s the life and times of those two illinois white boys. i just really am enamoured with the tupelo implosion to a.m. -> being there vs trace -> lack of continued success narratives. like look who cannot escape the guy he fucking hates even though said guy is doing just fine without him!! lets all stream misunderstood 😁

Do agree if Gojo and Geto or Itadori and Junpei from JJK are called "Doom Toxic Yaoi"? Why?

Gojo and Geto are definitely Doomed Toxic Yaoi they might be the very definition of it. They're individually toxic and toxic with each other, there's definitely some kind of co-dependence thing going on, they are doomed by the narrative. They might kill the world for each other(Geto's entire plan is exactly that). SatoSugu 100%!

Itadori and Junpei though......I don't think so actually, not in the slightest. They are both definitely good for each other and their interactions are positive. I think they might be 'doomed' but not toxic. And even the doomed part, I'm skeptical because if things had gone even slightly differently, Itadori and Junpei would have been fine. If Junpei trusted Yuuji a little more, if Kenjaku and Mahito didn't use Junpei as bait, if Yuuji had stayed the night.

A bunch of things had to come together horribly for them to be doomed. unlike SatoSugu, who definitely would have fucked things up at some point because their powers and therefore the very nature of their beings make it so that they will conflict at some point for some reason.

Their morals, their takes on curses, views on humanity like it's almost inevitable imo for SatoSugu. Itadori and Junpei argued and came out of it fine and ready to accept each other but SatoSugu are just....you know how in the episode where Gojo's put in Prison Box, Mahito &Kenjaku talk about how the rules of the world differ based on the rules around your cursed technique? Mahito thinks souls come first and influence bodies and based on his powers, that's true. But for Kenjaku, the body itself holds memories and essence of a person so body before soul is true for him. Similarly, Gojo and Geto's powers make it so that they are always in opposing 'worlds'.

Junpei and Itadori, from the little we saw of Junpei's powers, aren't incompatible or too different so any toxcitiy they do have would sort itself out. SatoSugu are just going to fight and you can only hope and pray the toxicity doesn't decimate everyone in a 5KM radius.

TLDR: SatoSugu is yes Toxic Doomed Yaoi, ItaJun is nope.

Batman #441: A Lonely Place of Dying Part Three (my thoughts)

He reminds me so much of my little sister when she was 13. He just has to put his grubby little paws on everything in sight. The art world today comment implies to me that he followed Bruce Wayne just as much as Batman, though as excited as he is about the Erte, and how his dad owns one, that may be coincidence and he just has an interest in art. Tim is very much an entitled rich kid from the jump, which is a sharp contrast to Dick. Also, I think this may be the first time he's been named, if I'm not mistaken, as well as the confirmation that he's 13.

Now we have the answer to what's surely been on everyone's minds, where are this kids parents??? From the sounds of it, Janet doesn't work, and Tim doesn't even know where they are.

Now THIS is one of the fanon misconceptions that led to me starting this blog in the first place. I see it said a lot that Tim was left home alone his whole childhood, but that's not true! He was in a boarding school! That's not to say that he wasn't neglected emotionally, I think even from these few panels we can definitely make a case that he was, but his physical needs were absolutely taken care of.

Full name reveal! I do appreciate Tim trying to warn Dick that the story will hurt his feelings. Tim is very insensitive, but I think it stems from obliviousness more than anything. He has a big heart but he's clumsy and bull headed and I think he's a little aware of that.

Okay, I have a confession to make here, I have lied to you all. Tim Drake's REAL first appearance was actually in Batman #436 in a flashback. I didn't include it because the scene that plays out in that flashback is just about identical to the flashback that Tim's just about to tell here. BUT we know from Batman #436 that it's been 10 years since the Graysons were murdered, so that's out confirmation that Tim was THREE when this all happened. The boy's memory is absolutely insane. It actually does a lot to explain WHY Batman and Dick Grayson imprinted on him so heavily.

I love the way the flashback is colored, it's so good. DC please learn how to draw small children, though, dear god.

So here is where we see Jack and Janet Drake for the first time! They seem like a sweet average family, both parents are verbally and physically affectionate with their son. Jack is shown to be a little sexist and I wonder how that effects Tim's feelings on masculinity and potentially his sexuality, but I'll unpack that in later comics as more evidence shows up. Dick is such a good kid, I love him. He doesn't even know he's holding someone who'll come to be one of the most important people in his life.

I want to highlight this panel again because I LOVE the way it's framed! Two sets of young parents smiling adoringly at their sons. Tim staring at the boy who will come to be his big brother. Dick smiling like the sun is shining just for him. And none of them know just how much their lives are going to change by the end of the night. Everything is beautiful and nothing can go wrong...

HERE WE GO!! mutsaura:

- when i started shipping it: i started shipping it back when the :re chapters were still coming out, specifically when mucchan and sanny started to team up. i immediately fell in love with the pairing. it very quickly replaced mutsurie as my favorite mutsuki pairing and has remained as my number one. there's something so spicy about them that just piques my interest. toxic yaoi to healthy yaoi (in the epilogue). DELICIOUS.

- my thoughts: probably in my top five tokyo ghoul ships. not exactly sure where but yeah. they have so much going for them- size difference, mutual understanding of each other, making each other worse, going from toxic to healthy, etc. they're both really hot. they also stayed close with each other after the events of the final arc too and that makes me sooo happy. they really grew together and found wellness together.

- what makes me happy about them: i think that shinsanpei could offer mutsuki some sort of safety that no one else could. sanny is a man who accepted all of mutsuki, all of his faults and flaws and errors. he wasn't someone mutsuki had to hide even a portion of himself from. sanny accepted him at his craziest and unhealthiest, though sanchan was pretty crazy and unhealthy himself, and stayed with him as he got better too. i think they could be true soulmates. maybe they had a period of time where they thought it was only their craziness that brought them together, but they realized it was so much more than that.

- what makes me sad about them: i think that during their healing processes, there was a LOT of unraveling of the poor ways in which they treated each other during their dual insanity. it was a very emotional period of time for the both of them. i think that mutsuki also had to learn to love in a new way that wasn't pure obsession. i think he offered himself in that way to sanny but sanny downright refused, and it made mutsuki lash out cuz he felt unloved, but he came to understand shinsanpei's reasoning for doing so.

(i'm skipping over the fanfic questions bc i don't really read fanfic at all anymore, whoops)

- who i'd be comfortable with them ending up with if not each other: for mutsuki, definitely urie. though, i don't really see anyone else for sanchan. i know people ship him with touma but i feel indifferent towards that.

- my happily ever after for them: they ultimately leave anything related to ghouls and travel the world together. they end up with a cat that they carry around in one of those pet backpacks as they travel too. they end up living somewhere by the ocean, by a beach. they live a calm and unassuming life, not forgetting the people they used to be but forgiving themselves for it. they send postcards to the old quinx members and the kaneki family periodically too. AAGGHH!!

- who is the big/little spoon: i think mutsuki would feel emasculated for a bit if sanny tried to be the big spoon for him. so mutsuki was the big spoon at all times for a while. but mutsuki eventually caved, tentatively allowing sanny to be the big spoon. they agreed that if mutsuki felt too uncomfortable they would stop immediately. mutsuki was very tense at first, but slowly relaxed into shinsanpei's arms. it felt very nice for him. he'd never allowed anyone to hold him like that. he can't get enough afterwards. nowadays sanchan is the usual big spoon.

- what is their favorite non-sexual activity: bathing and showering together. mutsuki was very averse to the bathtub for a long time, because of his childhood trauma. he got extremely triggered and broke down the first time they tried the bathtub together, so they kind of worked up to it more gradually after that. it's now a fun activity they like doing a lot.

not to be all “not all bakugou stans!!!” on u but i do want to let u know there r definitely bakugou stans who agree with you and like bakugou bc he has so much nuanced character development potential. i get it tho many bakugou stans don’t agree. it’s wild to me bc i love bakugou and want him to develop and become a better person and be held accountable for his mistakes and i think he’s genuinely a really interesting character bc he’s done such terrible things but has the potential to develop into someone better. idk. also ur toxic codependent yaoi take on bkdk is sooooo true and appealing and i don’t typically like bkdk (no particular reason it just isn’t my thing i prefer krbk) so please know you’ve converted this krbk lover at least a little good job 👍
