P2 of my Empires S1 designs (slash redesigns?!!!! <3333 (Joel's is here)

Basically I just wanted him to feel. Jungle-y. I took inspiration almost entirely from ancient mayan/Aztec clothing and art, ofc simplified down and changed to fit with his MC skin more :]

I gave him very bright, vibrant colors, to sort of break up his design and add visual difference (also to stand out against Xornoth's dark pallete and be a visual opposite to Scott), Teal is meant to be like the main complementary color, idk how well I did with that tho LMAO

He also has some medallions on his belt, specifically one for Xornoth <333 his crown also glows and floats like a sun, its warm and revitalizes anyone nearby. He has floating gold behind his shoulders also, which turn into his wings when he needs to fly.

Also his netherite sword is now a netherite māccuahuitl, he got that bashin' stick. And I decided since he mainly sells totems of undying, he is the only one of the smp who retains scars thru respawns, just thought it'd be cool LMAO

Here's one of my contributions to the Lost Empire section of the @empiropediazine! (click for quality)

This is meant to be part of a manuscript that depicts the story of the beginning of the Lost Empire. In Joey's worldbuilding, he mentions how the empire used to get its power from 4 elemental totems, that were then lost, and that the elemental temples were built as a way to rebuild that power.

So, here's my take on what those totems would have looked like!

Emptober day 5: Modern au

Gem: marine biologist, works at a wildlife rehabilitation center, everyone there has been yelled at by her at least once

Fwhip: engineer, he beat up Sausage once because he asked for help with his computer before trying to turn it off and back on again

Scott: professional figure skater. No elaboration. Accept it.

Shrub: Zoologist. Alternatively, that one girl in high school who disappeared in sophomore year and nobody has seen her but everyone knows that they were accepted by the local wolf population

Katherine: biologist, her room looks like a literal jungle

Pix: stay at home dad, if you ask him about his life you'll get the wildest answers and no one can tell if he's joking

Pearl: obviously a farmer, not even a question

Sausage: probably a cult leader tbh, at least a gang member

Joey: he's a member of the Tumblr monster fuckers, his job? Cryptid hunting. So he can fuck them.

Jimmy: he gets to be an actor just so I can make the joke about people accusing him of queer baiting

Lizzie: marine biologist, her co-workers are extremely concerned about the fact that she talks to the fish they study though

Joel: rapper. All his diss tracks are about fWhip, Jimmy is super supportive

Hello what’s up, it’s one of the many jornoth shippers in your inbox.

BUT HERE ME OUT. So basically we know very little about xornoth in canon, and as you may or may not know. Xornoth gives Joey special treatment, like for example when Joey asked xornoth to put up blue corruption instead of the normal red. And unlike every single other empire Joey had gotten this. No begging no trade Xornoth just- did it just for Joey.

And I’m bring this up for my headcanon: Xornoth actually a huge sap.

Like in a extremely embarrassed way, like he’s ashamed that he likes Joey this much. And the best part, Joey has no fucking clue. He still think a that he still has to ‘win Xornoth over’ when he already had. And now Xornoths DOWN BAD, when the guy who won’t stop flirting with you is oblivious to how you like him.

I actually really like Joeys' eyelashes in this one. he's a king he deserves blade-sharp eyelashes

Joel "massivebeans" my beloved. Those smudges are clay he got all over his face (I understand from personal experience).

I probably won't include it in her final design but I'm a sucker for hats with veils so I gave Shrub one.
