dramatic Jornoth save meeee
Tumblr media
(I wanted it to be like someone curious of the darkness, trying to shed light onto a darkened patch)
also I live for scared Xornoth, I want them to look like they just got mauled by a bear and is only just recovering.

Do you ever find it crazy how Empires SMP S1 had like... several gods just... walking around?
Like Empires s2 has Joel obviously but other than that no one else seems to really be a deity of any sort? I mean Sausage is there but he's not a god himself, just attracts them.
But s1? A solid third of the cast had some form of untapped divinity that they uncovered.
You had Lizzie, who turned out to be a ten foot tall goddess of the seas. Which means that Jimmy is at least a demigod just by nature of being her little brother. And the two of them are quite literally the oldest still living beings to ever walk the earth, predating civilization itself.
Then there's the whole situation with Scott and Xornoth. Reincarnations of vengeful gods, victims of an eternal cycle to perpetuate an endless grudge match. They may not be quite on the same level as Aeor and Exor but still!
And then on top of those four we also have Pearl??? Who is confirmed to have ascended after her death to a higher plane of existence? Who now has an entire religion surrounding her? Whose former best friend is now her most devout worshipper?
Does anyone else ever think about that?

can we get a small story about Scott and his brother?
"If we had found each other before Eris did, would things have been different?"
Xornoth opened his eyes to see Scott look down on him blankly, his darkened, dry hands held gently by Scott's bloodied ones.
The daemon ascended demigod unsurprisingly didn't have the energy to do another villainous monologue, the corruptive haze he's been living with since his failed ascension was beginning to leave his brain as he slowly approached his incoming death.
Xornoth's magenta eyes looked up at the darkening sky, somehow uncomfortable about looking at his twin, "Probably not," he replied honestly, "I still would've been as selfish as I am now. I still would've forced an acension. I still would've failed it."
Yes, he still would've been the same corrupted entity he is now. A being who couldn't even live with his own soul, having to resort to putting a piece of himself on Scott to have some sort of root to the mortal world.
Scott inhaled shakily, holding back his tears that were welling up in the corner of his eyes from the pain of his self-inflicted stab wound and having to watch his own twin go weak in his arms, "You're dumb," he spat.
Xornoth shrugged weakly, "That's why we're twins."
Scott chuckled raspily then went silent. Xornoth couldn't do much anymore as both of the brothers watched each of his limbs fizzling out to the air like dust. It reminded the two how Xornoth was nothing like the demigod he was born as, now left as some kind of entity equalling to a monster.
With what energy he had left, the failed daemon spoke again.
"Live. You still have others waiting for you," Xornoth breathed out, reaching out to cover a hand over Scott's wound, his Achilles Heel, a magenta like aura emitting as the demigod of Venus hissed at the overwhelming sour feeling on his stab wound, "Elysium is out of my reach, but you will do."
The corrupted being smiled, looking less creepy than he normally did as a small part of his original form was peeking out of the veiny shadows that hugged his entire figure.
"Find peace for me, won't you? A little taste of it would be enough."
Xornoth had said before his body fizzled off into the air like how a Tartatus monster would. The only sign of him ever being there was the magenta crystal embedded into Scott's skin. Where his wound would've been is now replaced with a solid gem.
The light haired demigod then passed out.

had this reference in the backburner for a while and since i'm busy with college atm, i figure i share it.
it's a model sheet for dragon! xornoth. kinda thought that man could be extra and turn into an evil dragon. as for how that'll work lore-wise, that's up to you LOL (thoipersonallythinkhestealstheenderdragon'sbodyafteritskilled-)
this ref was made back last september and i had plans on making an actual 3d model of it. sadly i never got around to doing it, but i do hope to work on it this coming winter break! hopefully it'll go with my portfolio ;)
i'll probs make a better one in the future but ye. that's bout it

Hear me out.
On Empires, we had the "c!Scott has a sibling" moment, and Scott was the younger sibling, while Xornoth was older, and they were corrupted.
On Pirates, we have the "c!Scott has a sibling" moment, but now Scott is the older sibling, and Pirates has some sort of corruption, and Scott shows interest in it in his journal entry.
Pirates SMP! Scott is going to end up corrupted by that purple stuff.

Do you guys ever think about how Scott was perfectly set up to be the one to break the cycle of champions?
The rule of three, Scott knowing about the history of the cycle beforehand, sealing Xornoth away instead of banishing or killing them. You think oh of course, the reason we're focusing on these characters in particular instead of, say, Alinar and Cohnal, is because they're gonna be the ones to put an end to this.
And then... they didn't. They weren't saviors who defied the gods and their destinies like we've come to expect from a story like this. Scott never recognized the cycle for what it was, and he never questioned the word of Aeor, because why would he?
And you're hit with the realization that Scott and Xornoth weren't important. They were just two more cogs in the machine. Just another generation of champions. They weren't special. They killed each other just as the gods intended them to.
By the end of season 1, it's not over. Scott defeated his brother, and saved the world from Xornoth, but the gods are still there, still watching. Exor, a god, who can afford to wait another five hundred or so years and then try again.
And so the cycle kept going. There were probably more champions just as unimportant as Scott and Xornoth were. Faceless, nameless champions who we don't know nor care for. The reason we know Scott and Xornoth is not because of their relevance, but to show us the meaninglessness, the inevitability of it all.
And we never know the resolution to it. It could still be going on, even a thousand years later in season 2, for all we know. Because we all thought Scott was supposed to stop it, and he didn't.
Because I do. I think about it a lot.
