I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

What empire from each season of empires would you/your persona live in? (I’m gonna draw your answer because I’m bored.) Also, can I have a reference drawing of your persona if you have one?

This is actually a super cool question!

Very hard to answer too.. but for season one I’d have to go with Mazalea. Joel’s base is just a masterpiece and I’d love to live somewhere so colorful. Plus I think the people who would live there would wear some really cool outfits!

As for season two, I’d go with sanctuary! Season two sausage lore is always on my mind ughh. The story for sanctuary is so cool not to mention how huge the empire is and the 10/10 architecture.

I never really have a set way to draw myself/ my persona but here’s the gist. Usually based on a horned lark.

When I catch you…

Oooh! The corruption scar idea is so cool!!!! Do you have more stuff about that HC?

OH DO IIIIIIIII!!!!!

First off starting with the fact of rivendells beauty standards to start this off, so pale smooth skin to start us off with. Same with freckles. But basically, it’s similar to the Victorian beauty standards, but for both men and women. This is pushed heavily by almost everyone in Rivendell. Because of these high beauty standards Xornoth is like pretty self conscious when it comes to how they are presented.

Like how they had freckles growing up,that magenta hair (in Rivendell I see it as mostly silvers,grays,and lighter blues is the more natural hair color.) similar to how ginger hair is seen in social norms. Like how genes work it possible for someone generations down to have ginger hair even if no know they know of in there family has ginger hair.

That’s how xornoth basically gets magenta hair, through past generations genetics.

Then scars and imperfections as also a big one, unless you are a years old soldier. It’s looked very down upon, and just like everything else Xornoth had little liters of scars. (Mostly from just being clumsy)

NOW STARTING ON THE ACTUAL TALK OF SCARS

Xornoths scars specifically when it comes to how it happened, is from new and old scars.

Xornoths scars act like corruption, basically spreading and eating away at the thing it’s latched onto. Unlike other stuff Xornoth is not affected by that “eating away” part bc of exors magic basically.

The original scars had turned that black concentrated corruption color, and through the years the original scars get bigger (not to much worse tho). That’s why Xornoths arms and almost entirely black with that concentrated corruption.

It also had created new scars to when he had become corrupted in the first place. Those ones are the ones by his face,neck,back,torso,and majority on legs. Saying this to put it into perspective.

Think of it like you got a new scar sure it’s like healed for the most part and is like a red-ish color. Now think of it years ahead of time, it mostly turns a different shade either white,your skin color or a shade of brown/red but could change from original color.

That is basically how Xornoths scars work as well, the corruption forcibly cracks their skin making a purpley red color, now in a year or two it will turn a gray or black. And sometimes if it’s cracked enough, it will still show the original coloration of the scar.

This had also happened for Xornoths little demon tail and those horns. They ripped through the surface layer of the skin, made from corruption. And blackened with times. Also like I said earlier, those little cracks running down the horns and the tail. Are not just for character design.

Those are from the corruption splitting.

Oh, did i forget to mention that all this is extremely painful for xornoth to endure? Anyways-

Now onto more present tense, even with Xornoth hatting Rivendell with all their might. They can’t seem to push out the standards they were put to all their life. This is why they either have that metal mask, or just don’t show their face. And the fact that they cover up so much.

Good thing though is the fact that I see joeys empire as one that is maybe all to confident to their own good. Like scars for example, it’s seen as a thing of strength. For that you have faced many battles, and you are not scared of getting hurt. And basically has the complete opposite of beauty standards from Riverdell.

So at least Xornoths got Joey :).

First time using alcohol markers in like 2 years?? Actually surprised I know how to use them, it’s kinda like water color if water color didn’t want to make me find the nearest bridge.

I forget I’m capable of realism, it’s a wonder I don’t use it all the time.

Anyways, Xornoth lore because why not? I’ve been obsessed with drawing deer skulls as of a few weeks ago. Might as well show my concept Exor design because I’ve never seen people draw him the way I envision him, so?? Then again I’ve never seen anyone else’s Exor designs so idk what I’m yapping about.

Hear me out what if in empires season two (and a possible season three) since flower husbands only had one date, nature wives aren’t canon, and Joey and Xornoth was over all just weird only Lizzie and Joel’s relationship is recorded in the prerapture history books.

Then you end up with things like, “Though Scott of Rivendale could always be seen wearing a wedding band no one is quite sure who he got married to and many historians believe that he wore it to get rid of people asking for his hand in marriage.” Then an image is included and it’s a golden ring with cod carved in it and emeralds between each one.

The same thing happens with Jimmy, “The Cod Father never wedded anyone but did wear this ring, possibly to avoid the trouble of being an unmarried royal.” Then bam! It’s a white gold ring with antlers carved into it and sapphires in between each!

Then with nature wives their rings are made of dark oak wood and have a vine pattern carved into them with emeralds and amethyst for the leaves and flowers. And then historians think that these clearly aren’t wedding rings since they aren’t nearly fancy enough.

Also bonus head canon about Joel and Lizzie’s wedding rings. Joel preposed to Lizzie with a gold ring that had a diamond on it. At their wedding Lizzie gave Joel a silver ring with Lapis and Prismarine creating a glowberry pattern on it. Joel gave Lizzie a gold ring that had peridot and amber making wave shapes.

I’m in love with these. I love drawing uncorupted xor with gold and corrupted xor with silver.

My favorite thing is drawing (Scott’s afterlife) uncorrupted xor with mostly gold and then his earring silver. (Its a gift from Joey, because he knows Xornoth loves silver, and it has one of his feathers attached to it) ((sobs))

I’ve always seen Rivendell as a very strict place with no real freedom of expression. Also headcanon that they don’t see silver as valuable. This is ingrained in the mindset of Scott, he also dislikes silver.

I know this one is kinda a regular head cannon for xornoth but with some extra stuff

Xornoth doesn’t/can’t wear gold bc of Rivendell culture, not only after they got tossed out but also bc I like to think of Rivendell beauty standards being very high maintenance. And Xornoth like just doesn’t fit the bill for the Rivendell royal family. (Not saying that they are necessarily ugly, but in Rivendell standards he’s a little bit uggo,it varies place to place)

Also, after he corrupts people like Joey and sausage. I like to think that out of some compulsive reason they should wear silver and stuff like that. Like it kinda pushes some of xornoth emotions against the empires,to Joey and sausage.

(That’s why my corrupt Joey is almost entirely wearing silver instead of the regular gold)

(Also sausages crown and details as well is silver. )

I like to think about how xornoth pictures it as well, with it basically being on how one of xornoth main motivation (in my opinion/perspective at least lol) is that they don’t want to feel inferior to other people/empires. And so even there allies like Joey And sausage are no exception either.

Xornoth knows that Joey really prefers gold jewelry, and they find it like insanely difficult to actively gift him gold jewelry, so Joey not only a has mountains of gold jewelry now he also had like a mini mountain of silver jewelry too.

Sausage when he joined with xornoth expected it to be tough and for him to be cruel. And big battle sheets and decisions to be made. But in when he actually joined, every like day or two xornoth instead of actually trying to fight the other empires would just ask what piece of jewelry Joey would like better. Which surprisingly enough feels like a little girl sleepover.

(Added bonus,sausage gets to keep all of the extra jewels and jewelry Xornoth doesn’t give Joey lol)

For whatever reason, magic doesn't work in Mezalea. Like, at all.

Outside of Mezalea? Sure! Freeze as many lakes and throw as many fireballs as you'd like! But as soon as you cross the border into Mezalea, it won't work, no matter how hard you try.

Maybe this is because King Joel doesn't believe in magic. Maybe this is why he doesn't believe in magic. He's never seen it, so why should he?

I have many story ideas to go with this. Like, maybe Scott once got frustrated with Joel's disbelief in magic and tried to freeze a pond to prove it exists, only to be called an idiot when it didn't work as it should. Maybe Gem is more curious than annoyed about it, and conducts experiments whether Joel likes it or not. Maybe the voice of a certain god can't be heard in Mezalea, so maybe Xornoth hangs out there sometimes.

I don't know, just been thinking :)
